  1. I keep waiting for Castle to snap and post something that gets modded.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Most of the players have (I thought correctly) been assuming that any implementation of powers which survived internal testing, closed beta, and open beta to reach live WAS "working as intended".

[/ QUOTE ] This is your first MMO isn't it.
  3. I wonder how many things we don't see as bugs the Devs have left alone because they don't have that big effect yet. I'd imagine every time they tracked something back down to an old small bug that would need a big fix they go "Ohhh crap...they are going to hate this...NOT IT!"
  4. My outsider view of what went down:

    1. pets are made buffable, since this is previllians most pets have very few attacks and with all the other stuff going on any balance or AI errors caused by recharge reduction go mostly unobserved.

    2. MMs come out and the pets don't always look right, staffing is tight and a lot has just been added. MMs get tweaked when possible.

    3. New people are on hand new days are ahead and MMs still don't work right. Problems keep arising from attack queuing and it is magnified with IOs. Someone points out there is no resource effective way to manage queing without controlling recharge. Several ways are tested in house since recharge manipulation has been on pet so long but the resources for advanced attack AI far outstrip what can be yellow or green lit.

    4. Dev team breaks out the hard set recharge code and wishes Lighthouse was still around to be the messenger that the player base shoots at.
  5. He didn't say inf/time he said inf/level.
  6. I find sprint works quite well for doing counterclockwise circles.

    Walk Button.

    It's 15 animations, 3 of which ar ein game so that's 12.
  8. LISAR

    Walk Button.

Walk doesn't need fight animations...combat should toggle walk off.
  9. I only know of two English swears for fecal matter and they both have the same weight to me.
  10. Well since you can buy common IOs for inf straight up the only real issue if you don't work sets is getting the right salvage.
  11. Yes something is wrong.

You are using an example where red sells things at a higher price then blue. I already believe anywhere red side is higher will drop to blue level or raise to be in the middle somewhere.
  12. Just to put it all on the table this is how I see it. Anywhere Blue has active trade higher then villains the price would not drop because heroes have more buying and selling power.

Anywhere red has an active market higher then Blue it would fluctuate and probably drop to at blue level or int he middle.

With both markets it is virtual impossible to get everything (sometimes even a small part of everything) you want without working the market in the first place. This would not change, only the amount of work needed to get the item.

The dev's heard peoples complaints about not being able to get what they want when supply was bad and their answer was to install a method where you could work towards you goal (merits). They have contemplated a merge and have not done it.
  13. Here's the rub. Somewhere on the issue following the birth of the market (or the following one I didn't date it). There was a reply to the request for merging the markets. It was said then that with the exception of a few areas Blue side would dominate and run the market with red side being pulled along.

I tried to search but the 200 return limit is killing me. The red's have made their choice in words and action, to prove them wrong you need to provide data based on hard numbers.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Let's add some volume. Heroside there are probably 5-10 exchanges of Miracles a day. Currently there has only been 1 so far today. Villainside there are probably 2-3 a day. Yesterday and today have had 2 total.

[/ QUOTE ] Without dates I have no idea how he got 5-10 exchanges per day off of the 1 sale. He says The other side has been sees 2-3 sales a day...based on the fact 2 have been sold int he last two days.

To show how this market flows you need actual data. The people with this data went "woahhh...no".
  15. Blueside: 95 Bidding, 3 For sale
Redside: 56 Bidding, 0 For sale

merged: 151 Bidding, 3 for sale

Give me the dates on last sales and not your undocumented extrapolations and I might view things a little differently.

The mods have said merging would be bad. Prove to me they are wrong. ^_^
  16. So greatly adding to demand and marginally adding to supply causes prices to drop...
  17. That word is considered a swear word. As such it is blocked by the profanity filter. If you wish to see that word turn off your profanity filter.
  18. "A few of these nine people will not be willing to pay as much as they must to obtain a widget." -Red Side with it's smaller population and disposable income

"A few of them will, however." -Blue Side because they've both accumulated more wealth per account and have a larger population

  19. I don't think that merging will cause the ratio of buyers and sellers to sway enough to have a noiticeable effect on CoH prices or player sell policies.
  20. Which is weird considering his signature.
  21. You still have the issue of blue side constant buyers being fine with their prices and just eating red side's supply for a tasty snack before business as usual.
  22. Did we not already do the flipping experiment where someone showed they could buy and sell and control price.
  23. My uneducated view is that the same reason people want redside to merge into blue is the same reason it would be eaten. Blue has more supply because of a larger active character base and a larger inf pool because of time and previous mentioned base. It would swallow redside's market and without anything other then the market to generate income it would be harder to deal with then it is now.

If they merged markets and allowed charecter pooling on account or the mailing of inf then people playing both sides would be set but anyone who was a red side only player would still be left out.

I like the idea of fixing the empty pools by creating an autoseeder. As not to mess with prices the players are controlling with active trade, it would only stock items that the market has had no supply of for a preset amount of time. Anytime an item was listed there by a player the auto supply ones would vanish. This way if no players were interested in selling/flipping an item people who still wanted to buy it could. The price of those items autostocked would have to be determined either by the previous sale average or by an increased price based on npc buy value.
  24. Damned undead MMs always using summon powers in weird spots.
  25. Can we have the mission title list only be words blocked by the profanity filter?
