Two of the most-requested costume piece sets for the last two years (at least) have been Carnies and Sibyls. One we now have at least a few pieces for, the other remains conspicuously missing.
The most-used explanation why we can't (or don't) have Sibyl costume pieces has been the fear of multiple cape rigs interfering with game performance and/or server stability. In the distant past, this was a valid concern; I remember when Hami raids pretty much required characters to have a raid outfit without capes or auras, due to the crushing lag. But now processing power is leagues ahead, both on servers and home computers, and it might just be time.
On this approach, I couldn't help but notice the proliferation of waistcapes throughout i22 Dark Astoria. We've got mobs of enemies sporting them, across multiple factions of baddies. Now, I personally wonder if the sudden spike in these waistcapes is really just a sneaky way of testing how the game will handle multiple cape rigs in larger numbers than the handful of Sibyls and Widows we've seen them on so far. -
I love that chest detail!
Here's really hoping it winds up usable by players. I'd even buy it out of the market. -
Quote:You know, I wouldn't consider this a marketing nightmare at all. The response so far from those who are even aware of the leak has been overwhelmingly positive. Obviously, the news is going to spread, and I suspect the general feeling of positivity and anticipation will spread as well, building up more of a groundswell in support of what we know about i23 so far. It looks like lots of people are excited about i23 already, and that's a really good sign.Yay! Another marketing nightmare for Zwillinger to mop up...
*facepalm*
Dude, I sure hope they pay you enough. We can't afford to lose you.
So while this might be considered a security and/or process nightmare, I don't think marketing is going to be affected any way other than positively in the end. Unless, of course, the expectations become so enormous that the product when finally delivered falls short of those expectations, but who's ever heard of that happening in a MMO? -
We should definitely be getting more Titan Weapons, and here's three that should be in it:
Scottish Claymore
No-Dachi
Frozen Shark
I wanted to include images, but I couldn't find any really good ones that weren't copyrighted in the short time I had to compose this. -
Keeping access to the Warburg temp nukes wouldn't be that hard. The easiest way I can think of to explain it would be to make the warhead and rocket manufacturing process and facilities entirely automated. That way the island itself can restock its armament supply without Marshall Blitz or, indeed, any human input whatsoever beyond delivering raw materials when needed. This would preserve the island as a free-fire zone, give a plausible reason to keep the temp powers available that still is compatible with the SSA storylore, and might even allow introduction of new baddies, if the island becomes capable of manufacturing its own robotic creations...

Quote:Praetorian missions in general are indeed more demanding than the usual Primal missions. The ambushes are nastier and hit harder, and First Ward ramps up the challenge even more. I consider the Awakened you find in the First Ward missions to be the single nastiest enemy group in the game, and I've been around the block a time or two. Even a very good, experienced player will often have to make the trip back from the hospital when fighting groups of them. Just try not to get too discouraged, because the writing on the First Ward arcs really is quite good, and the difficulty posed by the Awakened insta-ambushes is by no means indicative of the rest of the game. Thanks for all the great input, everyone. I'll be honest - when I posted this I worried that I was going to return to eleventy-eleven pages of vicious shouting - "This games is perfect ya N00b! Go play [insert name of game here] if you can't hang with the REAL playahs!!!"
Seems like a great community (the first time I played I didn't do much on the web in terms of forums (fora?) or similar...I'm assuming it's either always been this friendly, or you've weeded out D3ATHNINJAH69 and his annoying friends (my apologies if you actually use the name D3ATHNINJA##, it was meant in the general sense).
It sounds like my problem isn't new/unique, but might be limited to First Ward and related....someone should put some signs up by the entrance.... -
It would appear none of the devs have seen the movie "Shakes the Clown." Otherwise, they would know the proper clown pets would be Mimes for the minions, Party Clowns for the lieutenants, and Rodeo Clowns for the boss pet.
Beyond that, however, nicely done. -
And remember that the mythological Prometheus did indeed seem to have at least some genuine concern for mankind (thus the whole stealing fire to give it to humanity bit), although centuries and millenia could certainly have twisted that significantly.
Do I believe the Prometheus that stands in Ouroborous? Mostly, but it's very obvious he withholds much more than he reveals. His association with Ouroborous itself is a bit suspicious, too. I tend to believe the Dream Doctor much more than I do Mender Silos, and that extends to Silos's associates, including Prometheus. -
Quote:Which can, unfortunately, backfire horribly...We expect the writers and artists to get details as correct as possible: if you're going to spend huge amounts of time making sure a missile destroyer looks correct you should consider it equally important to spend time making sure smart people actually sound smart.

SSA2: The New Odd Couple
It's a clash of two cultures when Dominatrix moves in with Ms. Liberty, sharing a two-bedroom condo in newly-revitalized Atlas Park! Hijinks and hilarity ensue as the fun-loving, self-centered Dominatrix runs into the serious, always-focused Ms. Liberty's way of doing things!
ep1: Roomies!
ep2: Denial at the DMV
ep3: Groceries and Goons
ep4: He's MY Great-Uncle Too!
ep5: Does My Homeowner's Policy Cover THAT?
ep6: Lonely Nights
ep7: Best of Both Worlds -
Prometheus' careful choice of words is worth noting for another reason: it sounds like the entity who became the Well might not have exactly wanted to become the Well. Otherwise, why have the pause before using the word "agreed"?
Apparently Wells can be altered and even consumed, as evidenced by the Battalion. But can they be re-opened, or even have a new Well formed? If so, our current Well might not have been the first Well for our world. And if Wells can be restored or re-opened, that could form the backbone of a very serious strategy to use against the Battalion... -
The aura is just a touch different and, yes, more of a dull royal blue. At work currently, but I'll try to remember to post a pic later tonight once I get home unless someone beats me to it.

I still think the best idea for a new Epic AT would be a Sorcerer.
You could combine some of the aspects of both Khelds and Arachnos ATs, with two verry large powersets (Sorcery Primary and Sorcery Secondary, for lack of better terms at the moment) with lots of powers to pick and choose from, like Warshades and Peacebringers. Then you could spice things up by incorporating the ability to unlock more power choices upon achieving higher levels combined with a free respec, like the Widows and Soldiers. The new advanced pools could even have specific themes, like Spatial, Infernal, Angelic, Elemental, Primal, Mental, Physical Forces, Enchanting, Spirits, etc.
Sure, it'd be a huge development in terms of coming up with powers, but it would produce a new epic AT, give players the flexibility and customization that a Sorcery-based character SHOULD have, provide an immense breadth of playstyles and power combinations, and just generally be awesome. Now, that said, I don't expect something like this would ever see the light of day due to the absurd effort and time that it would take to port/create the many powers that would be needed, but, hey, this IS dreaming, right? -
I totally love the Musculature Radial Paragon T4 for my main. Increased damage, increased sapping ability, increased end recovery, all super good for an electrical blaster. The Core Paragon would squeeze out a bit more damage, but I like the extra run speed.
Damage and End Mod are two qualities that are helpful in 85-90% of builds (at least), so Musculature has become my default choice for a character when I can't decide on an Alpha ability. -
Some of my recommendations:
The Prophecy (skip the sequels, they're terrible)
In the Mouth of Madness (yeah, it's that creepy, that's why so many of us love it!)
Let Me In (American version) or Let the Right One In (Swedish version)
Dark City
Lord of Illusions -
From what I remember about it, it was a bug that allowed essentially an infinite number of enhancements to be slotted in a power, as long as you had the inf to buy them. Even with ED, each enhancement still offered a small boost of 0.1%, give or take, so if you took the time to buy and slot 100,000 damage SOs, you'd see roughly a damage increase of 10,000% in that power. It was interesting enough that the devs themselves got involved, IIRC, going so far as to bankroll that particular player just to see what could be done before they fixed the bug. The end result was soloing Hamidon in two or three shots. If I'm remembering anything incorrectly, someone with a better memory please correct me.
Kim Kardashian is not a male... that I am aware of. -
Good luck, Beastyle. Best wishes and hope to still see you around every now and then.

I've sadly stopped /bugging text and grammar errors as well. I try to skim over such entities when I encounter them in game.
Seriously, though, I imagine there are several players who would be happy to proofread and correct bits of text, both already in-game and in pre-release. I'd certainly be quite happy to help with something like that. -
I'm very much pleased with how the Market is working. Sure, there are slow weeks where there's nothing I want, but simply having the variety and ability to choose what I want to spend points on is quite nice.

It's equally a shame that you can't move the catalysts between characters on an account. But from what I can tell that's WAI.

Quote:Romulus Augustus and his army of Knives of Vengeance, Cyclopes and Minotaurs didn't think Electric Blast sucked when I hit them Saturday night.I deleted my lvl 50 elec/elec blaster, and my elec/kin corruptor. I have not yet deleted my kin/elec defender, but it is probably nostalgia more than anything else.
Elec blast sucks. It is too bad because it is very nice thematically.
Just admit that the cards are against you (which is too bad!) and roll a elec/cold troller or something similar, and be happy to have end drain and not suck.
Just because one person doesn't like a powerset in no way equates to it being broken, or sucking, or in need of revamping. Electric Blast is different that the other Blaster ranged damage sets. That's just the way it is. Whether a particular person likes it or not is irrelevant. You either work with what it has or you choose another powerset.
I played with Electric Blast slotted for damage for probably two or three years, and it worked just fine. Since then I added a single end mod IO in Ball Lightning and Short Circuit and adjusted my play to focus on dropping both health and end, and I like the results. Damage is still excellent, and the added ability to control the battle in multiple aspects is outstanding. I still think it's an excellent powerset, but I do admit to some inherent bias in that regard. -
Don't forget just how effective Trick Arrow can be at debuffing. It constantly gets overlooked by most people, but it can be one of the most powerful debuff sets, especially if you're looking for AoE debuffs. (Note: I know these are probably out of order, but this is how I remember them.)
Entangling Arrow: Immob, recharge debuff, -fly
Flash Arrow: AoE tohit debuff, perception debuff
Glue Arrow: AoE recharge debuff, -fly
Poison Gas Arrow: AoE sleep, damage debuff
Acid Arrow: defense (all) debuff, damage resistance (all) debuff
Ice Arrow: hold, recharge debuff
Disruptor Arrow: AoE damage resistance (all) debuff
Oil Slick Arrow: AoE defense (all) debuff, chance for knockdown
EMP Arrow: AoE hold, regen debuff, recovery debuff, -END
Six debuff powers that are AoE, two powers that debuff ALL defense, two powers that debuff ALL damage resistance, three recharge debuffs, a tohit debuff, two holds with one AoE, multiple -fly, one -jump, one immob. That's pretty sweet right there.
What really does it, though, is the fast cycle rate of the arrows, with the exception for EMP arrow. Stacking acid arrows and disruption arrows will make short work of any target's damage resistance, and with Flash arrow, poison gas and oil slick, you can mitigate the damage your team takes fairly well. You can really amp this up if you've got an Incarnate TA character, with the Interface tacking even more debuffs on with most of your attacks, too. -
This sums up what I do 90% of the trials I run. About the only stuff I won't do this for are if I'm looking for a specific rare or ultrarare to make a T3 or T4 I have in mind, and those drops are few and far between. Trying to keep track of what specific pieces I have in mind for a dozen different incarnates is too much for me.

Westin Phipps gets my vote too. The man is so toxic snakes won't bite him.
I've only ever been able to complete his arc on one of my villains, because his missions left a bad taste in the mouths of everyone else, and we're talking assassins, thrill-killers and terrorists. My one villain who could complete his arc is a literal demoness doing some work on earth, and she only played through the arc trying to determine if Phipps was going to be a threat to her consolidating more power in Hell or if he was somehow related to her. -
I think this might just be my favorite costume set ever in this game. Seriously.
I'm stunned at how good really everything in this set looks, but the way this outfit captures everything I think of about Retro Sci-Fi is just unbelievable. I was ecstatic to see the rings had been saved, and then that got turned up two more notches when I saw we'll have the option of glowing and non-glowing! This is just beautiful, beautiful work, and the way we were able to offer feedback and then see that feedback used to shape the final design is inspiring. I can't wait to make my first costume with these pieces.
