I remember playing with you, Stitch. It's been a couple of years from what I can remember, but we seemed to bump into each other several times over two or three months. You were always very polite and a good player, and you became one of the names that made me smile when I saw your name in the team box.
I love your story, and I hope you and your family continue to do well. I also hope that somehow the Cityverse gets saved, and we can continue to work together from time to time. Best wishes to you no matter what the game brings us.

Unlimited aggro cap for me too. I'd love to unleash a Final Ion Judgement on all of Perez Park.

Okay, will try to limit my questions to ones that haven't been asked directly, but if one slips through as I'm typing this, my apologies.
1-Is Mr. G's Primal counterpart the Center? If not, who?
2-Is Prometheus the same entity as Ermeeth, the god credited as giving mankind the power of magic?
3-Did Sister Psyche mindride into Manticore right before the moment of her death, potentially allowing her to return one day?
4-Who was Earth's Well before becoming the Well? Can that person possibly be replaced if anything happens to him/her? Has there been more than one Well for Earth?
5-Long ago when we were given to chance to vote on which zones we would most like to see become in-game zones, which three won? Why did the launchpads being constructed in Steel Canyon and Port Oakes never get finished?
6-Which Signature heroes and villains were really Incarnates, beyond the ones we already know about (Statesman, Recluse, Trapdoor, Hero 1, DJ Zero)? Is that how Rularuu went from being a human to what he is currently, or did he somehow Ascend beyond even Incarnate...ness?
7-What's Lady Grey's real origin story?
8-Is Efficiency Expert Pither really a member of the Midnight Club, since he's grouped with them in the staging area for the final battle against Mot?
9-Was the plan for Scirocco to become either a Rogue or a Hero? If so, who would get his Patron position, Mu'Vorkhan, Ice Mistral or someone else?
10-Who is Desdemona's Primal counterpart? Or Dr. Vazhilok's Praetorian counterpart?
11-Was there ever serious consideration given to making the Shadow Shard a co-op zone? Why or why not?
12-What is the truth behind the animosity between the Dream Doctor and Mender Silos?
13-Who really destroyed Ouroborous in the first mission of Mender Ramiel's arc?
14-What exactly were the "powers of Tartarus" that Recluse gained, other than super strength and invulnerability (and apparently the ability to call in nuclear strikes)? If those powers caused Recluse to grow four extra limbs, why didn't that happen to Tyrant?
That's all I can think that haven't already been asked. Thank you immensely for taking the time to answer some of our more esoteric inquiries! -
This is more than just great reading, it's really quite stunning to see just how in depth the background planning ran. Thank you to everyone for sharing this with us, and hopefully we'll get an opportunity to see this information put back to use in the near future. If not, then at least we have been illuminated to more of the truth (or at least as it stood at some point in the past).

I'd pay $50 a month, easily. It's worth it to keep this community going.

If the devs are still willing to answer some of our questions on CoH Lore, here are a few I'd like to pose, as I have my theories on each of them and would dearly love confirmation or correction. I realize there are several here, but I figure this might be the only time we get to ask these questions to the Paragon team. Any answers would be deeply appreciated. Thank you again, for doing everything you did to make this game such an amazing time in all our lives and for offering to give us some final closure on our Lore questions.
1-Did Sister Psyche mindride into Manticore at the end of the SSA1 fifth mission?
2-Is the Center the Primal counterpart for Praetoria's Mr. G? If not, does he have a Primal counterpart, and if so, who?
3-Were we ever going to get a moon base or an undersea base?
4-Does Scirocco ever leave Arachnos and become a hero again? If so, who will take his patron position, Mu'Vorkhan or Red Widow?
5-Will Ms. Liberty ever succeed in redeeming Recluse even slightly, such as him becoming a Rogue instead of a Villain? Will she wind up becoming a Vigilante, possibly to work more closely with Recluse?
6-Does Galaxy Girl's statue ever get rebuilt, either in a restored Galaxy City or elsewhere?
7-What was the connection with the Battalion, the Coming Storm and the Kheldians? Was the Coming Storm going to be more invasion-type events or more task force style content, or maybe even something entirely different?
8-What was Prometheus's real agenda?
9-Just who was Primal Earth's Well originally? It was said that the Well started as a person, but nothing else about how she or he became the Well.
10-Is Hamidon an Incarnate, or even a proto-Well, maybe?
(edited for grammar) -
We would probably have to start a new forum and have everyone register over there. It's doable, though. Not sure how or if we could transfer posts and the info contained in these boards, though.

My wife Zantana, from Liberty.
She disappeared while traveling out of the country for her work in 2004. No one knows what happened to her; she just never came back to her hotel one night. It never made national news, but it certainly left a hole in my heart. I still have the last email she sent me right before she left; it's never left my inbox and never will.
We were married August 6th, 2004, on Ithaca Island, surrounded by family and friends. I cherish the time I spent with her in this online world, and I have and always remain faithful to my first and foremost partner. I'll get the costume code out of the AE mission I made in tribute to her and post it here as soon as I can.
Thank you, Michelle. Your videos have been amazing over the years, and I appreciate you taking the time to do at least one more for our fallen brothers and sisters. -
I'm not joining another MMORPG. This will be my only one, and I'm going to miss the heck out of my Liberty family. We had truly amazing players who turned out to be equally amazing people, and it's this community I'm going to miss the most.
I tried to name names in my post in the main discussion thread saying goodbye, but there is simply no way I could ever list everyone on Liberty who has made my life a bit better and brighter just by meeting them. I'll still see all of you as long as the servers run. I'm not going anywhere else. Liberty is my home, and all of you have been my online family. Losing this world sucks and it hurts, but instead of mourning, I will celebrate the fun and the happiness that I found here. Thank you to all of you for contributing to that. Best wishes and all my love to each of you. See you in Paragon City, because I'll stand by you until the very end. -
Um, Blasters don't NEED to be fixed. And we're still going out better, much better, than when we went in.
Much love to all my Blaster kin. We'll go out doing what we do best, standing in the face of ridiculous odds and blasting the hell out of them. -
I'm definitely in. Maybe the injury RNG will be kinder this year.

Quote:Yeah, I think it's time to move ahead with this. Base raiding can't be fixed as it currently stands, not with the current base builder software. There's no point in retaining any appearance of this ever coming back, so just seal off those mechanics and leave the pieces as pure decoration. We haven't had base raids in several years, so it's not like we're missing out on anything at this point. The one thing I think should be done is to divorce bases for PVP and raid from the current bases entirely. The current bases should remain as "player housing" and not much more.
If we ever get new base building tools, that would be wonderful, and I'd gladly buy at least $50 or $100 worth of something to help finance more base love. Having the ability to flesh out our characters' bases (and homes, for some of them) provides an outlet for creativity that's hard to find elsewhere ingame, and I really enjoy spending time creating bases, like many players do as well. Hopefully we will something in the future, whether it's just a few new items or a torrent of base building goodies; either way, it's adding to a part of the game that many of us love. -
I greatly enjoyed this mission. I mean, a LOT. I don't care as much about the running around so long as we have a memorable and/or fun destination when we get there, and this paid off nicely.
(SPOILER WARNING FOR DETAILS BELOW)
I did love the battles in this mission arc. They were different enough to not be numbing, and they did a good job of providing enemies running the gamut from Judgement fodder to decent challenges.
The NPCs that appeared were excellent choices all the way around, and they really did a good job of adding to the mission's feel. It wasn't just some cutscene filled with blather, they reacted and interacted with us in realtime, keeping the story flowing smoothly.
Outstanding call on including the Antikythera Mechanism as the Key!!! I was NOT expecting this, so it was a great surprise. That device is something that fascinates me, and whoever designed and modeled it did a terrific job; it looks almost exactly like one of the more modern replicas. AND THE GEARS MOVE!!!!! Wheeee!
Now, for the only thing I could even quibble over on this mission, and it's a small thing. I agree with an earlier poster who lamented that we couldn't stop Synapse and Penny before they waded into the battle and just tell them, "You know, I've got this. Really." Ghost Widow by herself is a fun fight for me, and I was already calculating who I was taking down first when the Phalanxers came in. I love them wanting to help, but I was grinning at the opportunity to take on the Arachnos crew 3-to-1. Having the choice whether or not to have them assist would be the only thing I'd change on this mission.
This has been a great arc so far, and it's going a long way to erase the taste of SSA1 from my mouth. Great writing, fun story, terrific use of NPCs (Lilitu! Imperious! Professor Echo!), smooth flow and pacing... this has been a great arc so far for me. Thank you. -
I think I remember seeing somewhere that the giant statue standing on Crimson's island in Peregrine Island is indeed the heroine Peregrine, but I'm drawing a blank on where I saw it in-game, and it was a looong time ago. I'm thinking it might have been a history plaque. I'll try to dig through some of my old, old screenshots and see if I can find confirmation. The smaller scale statue with the same figure and pose inside Atlas City Hall is credited with being the heroine Cassiopeia, however.
One of the statues behind City Hall, the one with the SG portal beneath it, is of Corsair. His giant statue stands in RWZ. Two of the others around City Hall are Galaxy Girl and Wavelength. I'm thinking Dauntless was the fourth, but I honestly am not sure.
I also support the idea of honoring Statesman with a giant statue somewhere. Sister Psyche I'm not as sure about. I also strongly believe that at some point either Galaxy City should be rebuilt or a new giant statue of Galaxy Girl needs to be built; she's possibly the greatest example of heroism in game lore, and her monument needs to return to inspire new heroes. -
Agreed.
Quote:The lying on back defeat pose that use to exist for several years needs to be restored to the game. As of now characters defeated always fall to their knees and then face-forward into the floor. But there use to be an alternate pose where defeated player characters could end up on their back spread eagle. Would be nice to see this again.
Quote:Remove the Legal Filter from the Mission Architect. As it stands now the MA is pretty much useless for creating story arcs since so many words are blocked, including the names of nearly all CoH game characters.
Quote:Would you go forward with a LRSF if you randomly got a whole team full of non-incarnate squishies? It may be "working as intended" but it doesn't work very well, intended or not... even for single team endeavors.
This. I'm really amazed that no one from Paragon Studios has really grasped the value of the free advertising that /demorecord could produce. Heck, it already produces a significant amount; Samuraiko's videos are as good as any commercial I could imagine for CoH. Making it easier to produce quality videos for the rest of us could result in many people getting a taste of the CoX universe who otherwise would never have noticed. -
Quote:LOLOLOL.He is a dodge tank. His primary M.O. is to jump around taunting his foes. He's not known for being exceptionally good offensively.
So I guess single-handedly beating the snot out of the X-Men, including Cyclops, Wolverine, Colossus and Storm at the same time doesn't count? (Secret Wars #3, if you want to see the proof).
Look, trying to place square pegs into round holes doesn't work very well. Rarely are you going to see a non-CoX character neatly fit into a CoX archetype or powerset, and there's nothing wrong with that. That being said, Spidey would most closely fit a Super-Strength/Super Reflexes Scrapper. Main attack is hand-to-hand with enhanced strength, main defense is, well, not being hit, high solo survivability, high DPS, tough but can be overwhelmed fairly quickly with sufficient firepower. Taunt is not a conflict here, as scrappers also have Taunts available in their powersets. He's not a tank. Luke Cage is a tank. Superman is a tank. Thor is a tank. Reed Richards is a tank. Spiderman is not. He wades in and puts his target down; he doesn't stand there and soak up oodles of damage.

Quote:My thoughts exactly. The strong implications that the Center's mutant power is some form of Presence or Domination that inspires loyalty and possibly even indirect mental control also lines up with Mr. G's amazing connections and ability to influence others. He uses the same face as the Center, his eyes are horribly sunken, he looks like an unhealthy raisin, his hair is gray, and his physique is scrawny and frail. I honestly don't know what more you expect.
Also running through Tami Baker's arc, she reveals she works closely with Mr. G. She is, for the most part, an airheaded secretary. But she provides you with tons of info from Mr. G, and will frequently speak just like him, particularly imitating his repetition. So it can be implied he's controlling her in some way.
Again, not saying G and the Center are for sure the same, but if G is a counterpart to anyone in Primal, there's more evidence supporting the Center than anyone else.
Still, nothing is definite until confirmed by the devs. Maybe one day they'll tell us if we're wrong or right. -
Have the devs actually confirmed that Praetoria's Mr. G is their version of the Center? It's been suspected for quite some time by several of us for multiple reasons, but I'm not aware of them outright confirming Paolo Tirelli to be Mr. G's Primal counterpart.

I really do hope we're going to get the opportunity to help rebuild Praetoria, either with our characters directly or by NPC actions indirectly. I mean, Tyrant had to go. He was insane and absurdly powerful, and that's not a good combination. But now we have an entire world we know very little about outside of Tyrant's city, and there are some hard decisions to make.
How much of Praetorian Earth does Hamidon really control? If Tyrant's enclave was all that was left of humanity, then Hamidon has pretty much won, although it still might need to be put down. Is Hami confined to the North America/South America landmass? If that's the case, how have Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia developed?
Do the refugee Praetorians want to go back? I imagine all them have grown up living in fear of the mighty Hamidon, and probably quite a few of them will have no desire to return without some obvious protection. How about the industries, and the utilities, and the food production? Is it soon enough to just turn everything back on, or have things already begun to fail and/or spoil?
What will the Resistance do now? Keep hiding in the Underground, or move up into the light or help create a new society? And maybe feed Calvin Scott to Hami.
I really don't want the devs to just abandon Praetoria, although I guess that is a possibility. It just wouldn't feel very heroic. There's too much left unanswered, and leaving it where Tyrant blasted it into rubble will benefit no one except for Hamidon and his hordes. -
For antiviral, I use Kaspersky both at home and at my office and have been pleased with them and their results for several years. Kaspersky is a subscription, but for me the investment is absolutely worth it. For anti-malware, nothing hangs with MalwareByte's Anti-Malware program. It's free, it's comprehensive and it's awesome. It is slow but amazingly thorough.
I used to despise Norton's antiviral programs, but its most recent offering is absolutely an improvement, as an earlier poster has already noted. Same for MSE. Also, Maximum PC had their annual antiviral/security programs review recently, and they've always given good advice for me. You should be able to check their website out and find the write-up. -
Same. Never have bothered to respec my main for Inherent Fitness or to optimize slot usage for Fly and Hover and add Afterburner. Maybe one day.
-
Put me down for wanting that top the character in the background is wearing, along with a matching bottom. I love the costume pieces with cutouts, and that's a terrific pattern for them, showing some skin and keeping the arms mostly bare but doing it without being slutty or trashy.
-
Did it first on my main, who's Elec/Energy/Elec Blaster. She's the only one I even partially care about badges on, plus she'd have refused the help anyway.
Honestly, I really like this mission. It's one of the few missions where you actually feel like a demigoddess or demigod when you're done.
