  1. You might be a CoH addict if every time someone uses GA to refer to a state your first thought is Granite Armor?

Yeah... I do that and I live in GA, Georgia not Granite Armor.
  2. Sweet I will be there with bells on! Literally... bells... so if you hear loud annoying noises every time I talk in vent, yeah bells.
  3. Yes, much fun was had. While I don't really care about collecting badges I do really enjoy a good challenge and helping out. Thanks Omega, for putting it together and inviting me. I am definitely on board for the rest of it and any other challenges you want to do.
  4. Another fantastic trade, what a fun and great player to make the transaction with.

I only paid 1,999,999,998 though... I am going to email you that 2 inf... Lol.

    Anyone around?

Glad you are back Ozisl! You are welcome to send me a tell anytime, my global is @Kragothe. I always play on Guardian, I rarely have trouble finding a team and when I do I just start one.

I would like to point out something, while Guardian is not the largest population server I find that it typically has a better crowd to team with. I don't think you will find too many people from Guardian trolling other server's posts.

Anyway, you should also post in my thread, "Meet and Greet for Guardian",
    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=245798
and say hi to everyone there.

Thanks, that is extremely nice of you! I got the Apoc I wanted, so no worries. Thank you very much for the offer though.
  7. Haha, thanks for the replies. Makes for a great story to my CoH buddies. I wasn't going to think about it any further but I was cleaning and bored. I believe I know how I did it.

I had the Apoc I wanted selected and upped my bid to 500 mil then went to click on cancel for my previous for that Apoc. Instead of clicking cancel on it I clicked find on the nevermelting ice I was bidding on for 1k, or whatever. Then I hit enter. The reason I clicked find on the ice is a fun little annoyance that happens sometimes. A piece of dog fur gets under the mouse by the laser and causes the arrow to jump. If that is all the dogs cost me I would be a happy person, lol.
  8. I did indeed. I was gradually upping my bid on the Apoc that is pictured so I shut that message off. I honestly am not even sure how I bought an Ice as I was not trying to buy one.
  9. I have seen lots of people post about over bidding for items on accident, and always thought to myself how do you do that? Why not just be more careful? Today I have joined the WW's Hall of Shame. I am not even sure how I did this, but here we go:

Yup, 500 million for a Nevermelting Ice when I was trying to purchase an Apocalypse... Still not sure how I managed that but oh well, life goes on.

    LOL at me!

See post #9 for how it happened, thanks dog fur!
  10. Just a quick note, it is rather obvious that text is not the best communication method which is what makes good etiquette and proper phrasing of posts even more important.
  11. Just traded for a Glad's Armor 3% def. No problems at all, LaDiva was even nice enough to come to my server since I have in-game email phobia, lol. Thanks a ton!
  12. WEI you goof, I am pretty sure I told you about the grounded thing when you were considering your choices. Either way, I usually just slot one KB Protection IO so when I do need to jump over something I don't get sent flying by anything and everything.

To clarify something Status Resistances, such as knockback resistance have nothing to do with preventing a status effect from occurring, that is Status Protection. Resistance decreases the effect such as, duration, distance, or debuff amount. So if you have mag 10 knockback protection and 10,000% KB resistance and you are hit by mag 12 KB KB the distance will be reduced by 0.99%. Grounded's Protection of 15.58 is pretty high as most tanks have 10 from powerset toggles. Stone Armor can get 20 from Rooted and Granite Armor; a +4 KB reduction brings you up to 19.58 nearly on par with Stone Armor. I cannot recall a time that Krag has ever been knocked down with Rooted and Granite Armor on. The lack of Repel Protection can be rather amusing. Hopefully that makes sense?

Any further reading about this can be found at the Paragon Wiki, just search Resistance and it details it further. You can consult Mid's as well.

As far as Fear and Confuse go, I sometimes get Tactics and Aegis: Psy/Status Resist for those. Tactics provides roughly 42.4% Confuse and Fear resistance (reducing their duration) and Mag 3.6 Confuse protection. Aegis: Psy/Status Resist provides 20% resistance to those as well bumping your resistance up to about 62.4%. Not the best, but much better than nothing.
  13. I'm sorry I appeared preoccupied, but I am not 100% sure what you mean. Did I not respond to your tell? If I missed it I apologize, I do miss those sometimes
Anyway, I am logging in right now for about 30 minutes and will look for you. Probably the easiest thing to do is to /t @kragothe

Feel free to reply in game whenever you can or to ignore me if you wish to do that too, lol.
*Sigh* This failed... While I did get to chat with a couple of characters from this thread there are still a bunch I did not, and I do not wish to leave anyone out. I have mostly two problems: 1) It seems the forums will not load for me the majority of the time, so I can't see who to send tells to. 2) I have no idea who I have and have not already sent tells to. So right now I am not sure how to proceed, any suggestions?

I do have a CoH facebook page, name is Kragothe Valor, and the link is http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002085840976 (Hmm, is it ok to post an outside link like that? If not I will remove it.). Feel free to friend me or contact me there as well.

One last thing, I created the profile as "Kragothe Burford" but I do not really want anything other than "Kragothe" to show up. I only added my last name because I had to put in a last name. Is there anyway to do that, or do I have to display a first and a last name?

Thanks and I look forward to seeing my fellow members of the Guardian Server on Facebook
I found a really cool solution to my problem, I made up a last name for Kragothe. My FB name is "Kragothe Valor". I am posting screenshots to the account and use it exclusively for CoH. By all means feel free to friend me.

Take care everyone and see you around!

  16. I just wanted to make a post on here saying a couple of things. To start with; I really like the majority of the people I team with often or even occasionally, it seems that most people on this server have a good friendly attitude. There are, of course, those that do not but that happens everywhere. Anyway, Guardian is a small community in itself and I think that it is even more important to keep up the friendly behavior. Thanks everyone for making Guardian a great server to play on, and “I’m making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS”. Had to add that as I went to a Portal 2 party tonight, hahaha!

The only complaint I would have is that it seems the good nature of the Guardian players is not carried over onto the forums as much. I have not played on any server other than Guardian for any length of time, but from what I have heard and read on the forums it seems as though Guardian is one of the friendlier servers. I feel that needs to be represented on the forums as much as it is in game. I am going to use WEI JUN’s “Sequestration? I don't care.” thread as an example. WEI posted his opinion “I just thought I'd offer up my opinion” and it was met with some criticism and a good bit of bashing. Criticism is alright, but CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is great! The difference being that one is aimed at improving the target of the criticism, I team with the other Guardianites I might be criticizing. I want to help them improve, so they are even better to team with and there will be no hard feelings between us and we can continue to team effectively.

The way I like to offer criticism to others is to first remove the word criticism all together and replace it with idea or suggestion. To begin the suggestion I want the person to take I start with compliments, I am going to use WEI’s “Sequestration? I don't care.” thread as an example again. To him I might say something like this: Hello WEI, I want to start by saying that from my experience you are a very good tank and a great team leader. I have been on your team many times and we have been successful in almost all of our missions. Great job! This puts should put WEI at ease and make him more willing to accept the suggestions I am about to offer. It also prevents him, and others, from countering my suggestion with “WEI is a great tank and is almost always successful on his trials!” or whatever.

Now for the second stage I will begin telling him, nicely, what my suggestion is. Here I might say something to the effect of “The suggestion I will make for you, WEI, is that when you are on your 2nd Sequestration warning you back off the AVs. Here is why: 1) It will enable the rest of the team to continue pounding the AVs with attacks and not have to continuously watch for your warnings, which will make the trials quicker. 2) You will be able to tank more effectively; for example you get sequestered for 10 seconds (or however long) that gives the AV 10 seconds to smash whatever it wants, which will be your teammates.” and whatever other points I might wish to make.

Then to end it I will do a recap of the compliment and the suggestion such as; “Like I said WEI you are quite a good player, but please do keep my idea of not getting sequestered in mind, thanks and see you in game soon ”

I guarantee that will go over a lot better than the things that were posted which lead to a lot of back and forth of “WEI is a great tank” and “not if he gets sequestered”.

Sorry for the length of this post, but I feel this is a serious topic, because it is not about a game but about people skills which is very important in real life. This kind of attitude will help build relationships at work, with friends, with family, or whatever and therefore should always be practiced. Keep up the good friendly nature fellow Guardianites and let’s try to be more suggestive with the things we would like our fellow teammates to improve upon and less demeaning.

    Thanks,
    Kragothe Valor

Interesting you should play that card though, since in your OP you said you take tanking seriously and seem to take pride in it.
Who exactly are you referring to with the "'its just a game' card.'" comment? Unless I missed it WEI never said anything like that other than "Sometimes I think people take this game far too seriously." Which is saying that people take it too seriously, not saying that there is anything wrong with being serious sometimes. That makes no mention of it being just a game.

So I am not following you on this, unless you are just attempting to start a flame war? Which is not cool...

Get it flames not cool, lol (Yes, I know that was lame, but you laughed admit it )

  20. The turrets killing the untargetable allies is probably a bug, which I bet the contains hurting decoys is also a bug. The turrets cannot hurt decoys, so it does not make sense that they can hurt one type of immune pet but not another.

Something else that can kill decoys, casting them in the ceiling...

Yes that is my Decoy's feet sticking out of the ceiling. Apparently they slowly die if you do that too.
  21. Have you noticed that the Acid container things on the Lambda trial hurt decoys when they explode? I am not sure if the weapon crates do or not.

  22. This was the only screenshot I took. Thanks for the team guys and nice work!

Oh and to back up what Omega Shockwave said about dispelling rumors, I was level 50 +1 and only had my tier 4 Alpha and Tier 3 Judgement slotted and I did not die once.
  23. Yeah, the words "very serious" should never be used when talking about a video game involving super heroes... I mean really? lol!

Joking aside though I have a question, can decoys get sequestered?
  24. That's funny his "button mashing" has never had ANY problems taking down the AVs. Whereas I have been on a couple of BAFs that have failed at the AVs, seems to me WEI has done something other than just "button mashing".

There is no need to come on the forums and try to bash other people for absolutely no reason. Take that attitude to Freedumb, it might fit in there.
  25. I am posting this because I have seen lots of other threads about people saying this and that about their MoLambdas and I do not see anything about the one that Princess Scarletta ran today. We finished with around 8:45 to spare and had lots of fun. I have a screenshot but want to go to sleep atm. Anyway, if this thread is somewhere and I missed it please let me know. Otherwise I will post my screenshot and say thanks for the team guys and nice work!
