  1. Good a build, I like Bear almost blew it off. For me, hurdle > SJ > assault

    I personally always take hurdle over swift because of leaping pool- I get it a lot, so it by that logic hurdle comes first then CJ and SJ. Assault is only a last ditched effort to increase dam and is only icing, and you need a travel power, so... (well not NEED need, but I think getting to the battle will help more with dam than assauld )

    Iconically, yes, I agree, but so is Dark Melee with all the leaching and what not. I just dont see any new sets at all comming, esp with Rogue on the horizon and brutes all over. Eventually all sets should be proliferated, IMO. Not for a least a year, though. Unless its part of the expansion.
  5. In so far as we are including ALL powers in the discussion, did anyone take into consideration the bonuses a brute can get with darkest night? That and dark oblit need to come to scrappers ASAP . To heck with the numbers...

    Im really hoping this entire discussion fuels proliferation. A buff to scrappers would be welcome, especially on teams as someone stated - like they want to show off and be the shocktroop . Raising this damage cap, IMO, seems most appropiate. I have reservations if it will come true.

    As a math question: are the formulas for proc's used in attack chains a lot like interest (compounded in Werner's and simple in Umbral's)?
  7. Fury of the Gladiator, PBAoE -rez 20%, it's a PvP set. Expensive at WW, too. It's great in Sweeping strike and stacking with Ablating's AH proc.

    Edit: Now correctly states its PBAoE and not AoE (probably obvious, but...)

  9. 1. many combs can do this- its more about style - whats yours?
    2. most scrapping farmers are spines or fire primary then dark or fire secondary- I'm sure there are others
    3. Combine the two? dark/shields, fire/shields, fire/sr, claws/sr - these come to mind as balanced AoE and single target damage.
    4. I'm kinda biased to dark/shields as a catch all - good heal with siphon life and sheild charge, tools, and shadow maul for AoE
    5. Wait for others opinions

    about 170% global rech - ill check after work, sorry - rough recharge on SS is down to 7.20sec (not Arcana-time) with
    101% in Seismic: 5/6 hecatomb (proc in stone punch) and 1/6 unbreak constraint acc/rech

    (working on better one for bruits with /sr, but end is *very* difficult to manage currently due to no inf.)
  11. Just another question/thought to the OP: cant recall of-hand, but does sr scaling resist apply to toxic? IIRC, it doesnt, which means you wont benefit from any defense sr has to offer. Thi8s may explain why you do better against non-vahl's.

    DB/WP or DB/SR?

    The only thing in the game made for DB is fury of the gladiator proc in sweeping strike (which I guess is arguable, too cause it would rule in my /mm blaster in the PBAoE (forgot name)) and put achilles' heel in ablating strike- insane.

    That in mind, I like sr more than wp.
  13. The only problem I have with the non-instanced game is the computer power it will take the average person to play: will this require more power from your computer to play? When this game was first released, it could be run VERY easily on a rather mid-range computer. Ever since and especially with CoV, the strain has been really increasing, IMO. I guess they could mitigate this with more instances of maps like Atlas Park 1, 2, 3, etc. (if needed).

    I do see your "limited resource" arguement as valid, but so far the game has had a good track record for being rather forgiving in that reguard.

    As for freedom of side-switching at will. Need more developement there. Spys, vigilante, trancendent being, and outright good/bad alginment in general may now be more important than *origen!!*

I'd hope at least that it would be, because its an expantion, that you could select red side, blue side, and "purple side" at the character creation screen, so that in Praetoria one could have open options of archtypes and alignment. Then the PVP zones and Pocket D would be a merger of three worlds. Agree with you on content.
  15. In side-switching, a tank as the eigth role on a mixed red team (or any team) would be an outright carpet bombing. Red side has so much damage potential locked up in who's managing argo its not even funny. In this senario, it would be difficult to determine who's being marginalized. But this has been reviewed in the past with well balanced blue teams to no end (mostly by Arcanaville), and I'd only see mission "turn-over" being easier with tanks on red-side.

    I'd like to see harder foes-- specific bonuses to the foes on their damage and to hit on maps that spawn to 6-8 toon missions to hold the role of a tank as the tank. I dont like the idea of having tank-ish toons doing damage as the "extra argo mitigator," when it should be the case that only the tank can handle the argo in the first place. If a tank is not present, a more concerted effort must be done to fill the gap and not just "well, send in the clowns or buff the brute."

    This may not appeal to those who often solo tanks, but people usually solo tanks because their powers are CURRENTLY unique blue side.
  16. Just give me the option of using dual anything with blades: axes, cressant blades, bats, carp, ANYTHING- even no weapon (escrima was empty handed at high levels, true?)

    Rather have more proliferation.

    Pole-arms, streetfighting or a punchy set would be sweet for melee. One or two pistols nice for range.

    That would be nice. I really want scrappers to get dark obliteration (tanks as well for that matter). If scraps get pyre mastery, fire ball maybe too much- unless they give melt armour instead.

Even with DM/DA a AoE light set, Soul Drain fueled Death Shroud devours minions. In AV/EB fights I have to turn Death Shroud off or it will wipe out my DR fuel before I can drop the EB. If you're refering to burst damage I would agree, but no secondary grants burst damage, you get that from your primary.

    I agree. Playing 60 months is a long time and deserves some reward. It allows for creativity within reasonable constraints. Now if they did this across all pools, like getting tough without boxing or kick or staight to Vengance!!, that would be too much (AWSOME!!! but too much).

I would have thought that a power of this nature would have gone with the 60 MONTH: KEY TO THE CITY badge (gold key for heroes, and a crowbar for villians), where u can unlock all kinds of neat things and have the all access pass to costumes, doors, sig "temp" power, and opposite colored fairy/pet,... but I'll take it now... thanks!!

  24. The Zombie Apocalypse doesnt seem to correspond to area warning well, either. Actually, it will state zombies sighted, nothing happens for 15min or so, "zombies cleared", then the sky turns red. Would it be easier to cut down the maps where they spawn to only the main ones? Example: not trial zones- i.e. Terra Volta, Boom, others- in an effort to make a simpler cycle. This would also balance red/blue sides more as well.

    Jack-in-Irons is rather too infequent as well.
