  1. I have a build similar to AirHammer's except it switches the slotting b/w shield charge and foot stomp takes out the HO and subs in a Force Feedback proc. His maybe the way to go, but I just love that proc.

    Stupid but fun

There are a variety of really fun combo's (throw-back to video games like Killer Instinct, Street Figher, etc that allowed you to "juggle" your target) that I like to see how many attacks I can hit them with by the time they hit the ground or they die from one power but I can animate a few more due to activation times. Claws is good for this too via Shockwave also energy torrent, LBE and the moves in Kinetic Melee. Horrible DPS; Good times

This. The hp buff is just weak. At least make it auto hit the cap for toons. I like the debuffing heal resistance idea. Heck, add a resistance to *all* debuffs slows, -dam, -debuff defence, -dam rez, -acc, etc. Would really help as a reactionary power to "climb out of the pit" of a mess of stacked debuffs.
  4. Classification of "Temp Powers" is, has been, and always will be shady.

My understanding (which is usually off) is that the booster packs were something that would inherently change the way my toons effected/functioned within CoH Universe; thus these powers are better classified as inherents. My vet powers (SoM, blackwand, etc) while nice dont really count in this reguard. The fact that I can still use the Return to Battle power is a very nice gesture. All other temps in the game are just that - temps. For *Incarnate Reasons* are now "too weak"/not allowed (baddies are now way beyond them) because now we are doing *Incarnate stuff* (thats my logic). Like it or think it's accurate? Well, I dont really care. Sorry.

    Gauss Proc in BF

Werner and/or ShredMonkey (if s/he still posts) should be chiming in anytime now, but for now...

I had a DB/SR at 207.25% recharge (including hasten), that with hecatomb in BF, allowed me to triple stack it (the build was fun but not soft-capped to anything and was purely concept build) with the chain AB > SS > AH [repeat]. It had the proc in it just so i could see really big numbers some times because I also had Achilles Heel (AB with crushing impact 5/6 + AH) and Fury of the Gladiator (Sweeping with Armageddon 5/6 + FotG) so every once in a while I'd see a spike of 646damage to a target with Sweeping strike. The idea is that Build-up is 5% chance (1/20) for a 100% buff to *base* damage for about 5.25 seconds - or about 1-2% over the long term. You could figure out your attack chain and figure in 1-2% damage to the base numbers (literally the attack chain that would be buffed in the 5.25 window) and compare that to a flat bonus to BF via enhancements. I think the flat damage enhancment will win each time.

If you're going for set bonuses, that's totally different and maybe worth while if the toggle is always on like focused acc, invincability, tactics, or Soul Drain-like powers (not that its a toggle)
  6. I do like my WP/stone, and wp/ is definately a good idea for heart; however, if you color it right with the pulsations in Elect armor and the new beast aura, oooo that looks awsome. Just an FYI. Seems you have a nice build comming along. Just be sure to add force feedback procs to fault and tremor and your clickies will be up as often as you need them (oh, and hasten but you knew that with whirlwind )
  7. What Werner said and Take the Void Radial Final Judgement (-dam right?), how much survivability do you want!? My DM/SR is decked out like this (and with rebirth radial) and jumps right in, *bam!* no probs.

It defeats the purpose of the stacks and proc ratess if a single power automatically stacks everything to max in an AoE by itself, even if the rate is 25%.
This reminds me of the *really* old Energy Transfer power, except in reverse. When CoH first came out all Energy Melee powers (only tanks) were PBAoE and multiple targets could be stacked right on top of one another to look like only one was there (like the mindwashed do sometimes in BAF). If the tank hit ET on that mob, the resultant stacking loss of life would instantly kill the tank (LOL), which back then, was really hard because there was no ED rules.

It does seem fun for those who can use it. Too bad they couldnt make the 10sec rule only for Incarnate content and still allow for *mad power* everywhere else. But then everyone would want there own *super powers.* /Sigh, best fix the outlier.

If its WAI, then the next 4 incarnate slots better give single target powers psychotic levels of damage - and I mean needing scientific notation to express, like Steel Canyon Building Explosion or Kill Monster.
  10. I really should sit down and do the math (it would be a good exercise for me), but I already have the sense that on my scrapper Incin > scorch > creamate (I think I run that) 150% recharge with hecatomb in Incin with T4 interface 75%/25% fire/-dam is really rocking ST attack chain. I dont like the sword animations anyway, and at this point I dont care if its the *best.*
  11. There is a thread in the scrappers section which asserts that, barring AoE damage from auras and PBAoE attacks, around 200dps or higher -dam would be best as you continously buff your own damage. At less than 200dps, fire DoT would be better effective as the frank addition of damage would be better than a 10% addition of your own. However, a special case for fire, here, can be made. I am watching both threads and will likely do some calculations myself because I have every thing I need to make a tier 4 reactive on my fire/shield - I just dont know witch one!
  12. On my DM/SR scrapper, fire DOT did about 13-14 dam/tick on a lvl50 Death Mage (I con lvl50+1 when not in Incarnate content). I may go the DoT route dispite the -rez because although -rez would be better for soloing big bags of HP on a single target type toon like mine, I find the DoT more practical (killing small game etc) and fun - mostly because of the lack of solo content. (I also plan on the 100% debuff from Diamag, but I digress).
  13. Grrr... now im torn on my DM/SR, attack chain is MG, Smite, SL, Smite - which is reasonably high, but its also quick enough that I still may be able to max out the -rez. I know we're limiting the scope of discussion to AV's, but *in general* where DoT over long-term isnt as important and most things are being taken out in 2-3 hits the quick stacking of fire is quite practical. Thoughts?
  14. Yep void. Pyro would be good for the dps, 40 targets is awsome on ion, but on my main dm/sr: void, and rebirth core for the hp boost. Best way to cover my bases, I think.
  15. Stone/dm, soft-capped def, nearly capped rez, +regenn from rebith, capped hp - void with -dam, diamg interface, t4 spirit. I just need something to tank!
  16. Seers, cause they look cool, imo. That is all. I may get vic's for another for theme reasons.

I got my +1 with the rare and I'm done with this Power branch. Not really appealing to me at all beyond their ability to run interference, esp with mindwashed in BAF.
  17. As I see it, we seem to be trying to get them with their pants down. Once they know we'er here and organize, really well slotted incarnates are needed, especially with destiny; otherwise, yes their "organization" will overwhelm everything.
  18. Hmmm... may need to look at Musc. Rad. Paragon for my DM/SR (right now has Spirit Core Paragon); however, as it stands I'm not certain building around Incarnate Powers is that prudent given their situational nature - so far.
  19. You may wanna check the Tank Forums as I've noticed more tanks than scrappers use Nerve. There is also a good thread in the General Discussion section Nerve here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=252203
  20. Anecdotal advice: have you considered Nerve? Would help max defense and attacks arent overly slotted for acc.
  21. From an aesthetics standpoint, I dont think *all* the melee heroes styles will be satified untill the dev's just say: "Here are all the animations, with their animation times, a standardized damage, and an associated point value (which would change as you try to change animation time(speed)/end/damage/recharge values/secondary effects), You have x points - mix and match. Oh, and take confront and a +dam/+acc power. kthxbai." This will never happen. Thus, in this game, we have to make due with what sets we have and how they work.

Animation options what would encompass headbutts (looks kinda like the shaking the Mooks do when they shakedown some citizen), elbows/knees, and spinning non-aoe would be nice options tho. Won't happen.
  22. Werner's thoughts on defense based sets reminded me of some of the points discussed in the thread on if Nerve Alpha was worth it in the General Discussion page. There is much room for piling on defense. The discussion there didnt make me creat it on my dm/sr but my Stone/dm tank is testing survival differences on both Spirit and Nerve.\

Can someone tell me how much recharge would be needed for the Elude/Hibernate trick, dont have Mid's atm.
  23. Slightly aside: on a /Fire armor toon: would procs work better in burn or FA - meaning ones like Fury of the Glad and Armageddon. My guess is the aura, or does each tick in burn have a change to proc (doubtful)?
  24. Spit - spine/wp - Bit by radioactive komoto dragons while playing with them in the tub when they were shocked by the radio when it fell in.

Sun's Anvil - fire/shield - "Still looking to be worn on the right arm..., You "heroes" are so annoying."
  25. I have one and it's good. I use body mastery tho with a FF proc in Torrent (I really like it).

I currently use Armageddon in FSC and Oblit in SC any thoughts on that slotting. Do peeps put Arm in SC (keep in mind I need Oblit somewhere for capping purposes).
