Soloing Renault simply isn't justifiable. 3 AVs in the last 2 missions makes soloing a horrible merit/time effort.

I haven't tried soloing Ice Mistral yet.
I think you pretty much have to have an Immob/-Fly power to take out Duray reliably with melee characters, and an SS/SD Brute won't have that unless he got lucky with an arms deal. Without it the odds are you're going to get very frustrated trying to chase him with Fly or a jet pack while his health slowly recovers.

Yeah, Synapse and Sister Psyche can be solo'ed by some really cheap builds without temps (I've done both with SO builds), but he mentioned a WP/DB Tanker. I really doubt a Tank can put out the DPS needed at level 20 (or even level 25) without some help.

I forgot about the simultaneous clicks in Hess. The Cavern trial should be on that list too.
  4. Those I can attest can be done solo with a budget IO build:

    Positron
    Synapse
    Sister Psyche
    Citadel
    Imperious
    All three blue-side respec trials

I'm pretty sure your WP/DB could do all of those except Imperious. You should be able to handle Manticore and Numina too. And Hess.

Keep in mind that you'll need temp powers such as Shivans and Nukes or you'll never finish any of those except Posi and the respecs.

It doesn't appear to be a Set Bonus, it looks like a special Scale 1 Resistance based on the CoD listing.

I would have expected them to make it a 20% chance proc that checked every 10s and gave high TP res (TP and Recall powers are non-resistable, so only foe TPs would be reduced and would presumably fail if lowered to less than Mag 1 with >110% Res). That's how they did TP Foe suppression; it grants +10000% Res(Teleport) for 15s. If it had been done that way you'd have the Res 36% of the time on average with both the TP Prot IOs.

However, it looks like it has its own special mechanic, so without actual testing it's just a WA guess as to what it really does.

What particular part of Shield Wall are you referring to? The 20% Chance of TP Protection stacking with that from Galdiator's Armor is the only odd case for stacking. All the other stuff stacks using the usual 'Rule of 5' and unique limitations. I'm not sure how the TP Prots stack.
  7. I've only seen this happen in very specific missions, so I assumed it was intentional. Note that the two I mentioned are both Lost missions that ramp up as you go in.
  8. I didn't think you were exaggerating; spawning nothing but bosses with 2 people on the team (or on the old setting of Tenacious) has always been normal for Lost. Two missions that I've seen that a lot in are Unlucky Pete and Rescue Mr. Yin.
  9. It's intentional; Lost spawn an unusually high number of bosses.
  10. I use binds myself, but use the 't' key rather than the lbutton (I use the lbutton for location targeted attacks and controls such as Lightning Rod or Quicksand and so use 't' as a standard for TP to avoid having to switch my thinking on my WS).

One thing to add to the binds given above is that to have the same key or button work for both Shadow Step and Black Dwarf Step you need to have your shape shift bind rewrite the teleport bind.

I use the 'i', 'o' and 'p' keys for the human, nova and dwarf shape shift binds respectively (again that's to avoid using numpad keys I normaly use for teammate select and buff/heal powers).

My binds for shape shifting are:

    bind i "gototray 1$$bind t powexecname Shadow Step$$powexectoggleoff Black Dwarf$$powexectoggleoff Dark Nova"

bind o "gototray 9$$powexectoggleon Dark Nova"

bind p "gototray 8$$powexectoggleon Black Dwarf$$bind t powexecname Black Dwarf Step"

I use button4 on my mouse for Stygian Circle and button5 for Extract Essence, but if you like mouse binds instead simply substitute shift+lbutton for t in the above binds for teleporting and, say, button4 for i, shift+button4 for o and ctrl+button4 for p.

DP puts you well over the HP cap (with the accolades) and is up most of the time (with Hasten factored in it's over 85% up time), so that +2.25% HP is really more like +0.35%. Given that, I prefer the +1.25% En/Neg Def the 3/3 split gives.

I didn't realize I had the Quad in there. I probably threw it in to see the effect on END use. You can easily substitute a much cheaper D/R or A/D/R.
  12. Here's a quick modification of a cheap Inv/ Tanker build I had in Mid's (it wasn't for War Mace, and the attack chain this version produces is a bit clunky and END heavy when Hasten is down).

Most of the IOs in this are cheap to very cheap, with only a few key pricey ones (and none of the truly expensive ones). If you have lots of INF, this build can be substantially bettered, but as is the whole build costs less than a couple of the Kinetic Combats so prized for Invulnerability builds (the KC D/R and D/E/R together cost about 100M blue-side right now). A lot of the moderately priced recipes - such as some of the Reactive Armors, for example - can be picked up by running AE missions and rolling on the Bronze 35-39 table (or roll 30-34 till you hit a Steadfast +Def, then switch to 35-39).

This build hits the Defense soft-cap versus Smash/Lethal with 2 foes in melee, Energy/Negative with 3 and Fire/Cold with 8. The END recovery is OK, but because Clobber and the AoEs are in the attack chain you may run yourself dry. I couldn't fit Conserve Power or Physical Perfection in without losing the special properties from the passive Resists, but just swapping out Resist Energies and Resist Elements for those two and throwing a second P-Shifter +END proc in Physical Perfection could make END use a non-issue.

I also have VEATs (Fort, NW, Crab) that I can use.
  14. I used to use the vault extensively for storing rare salvage, and still do on craft-and-sell toons, but my principal use now is to stash components for empowerments to help my lowbies. Usually stuff for +Rec, -KB or Stealth empowerments (the latter is useful for many TFs).
  15. Yeah, I meant the link was broken, not the page linked to. I could have quoted it with the correction, but since the first link included a prominent link to the second I didn't think it was worth the trouble.
  16. The second link Aggelakis gave is broken (missing the first 'n' in 'Enhancement') but the first given includes a link to it.

If you mean the ED soft cap that is the point at which you start suffering the 85% discount on further enhancement (ED has 4 tiers: 100%, 90%, 70% and 15%). That value is the number listed in the last left-hand cell of the tables given on the ED page for each enhancement. That's 100% before ED for most things, 60% for Defense/Resistance/Range/ToHit Buff/ToHit Debuff, 120% for Interrupt and 180% for Knockback.

If you mean the Defense soft cap that's 45% after ED due to the the ToHit floor of 5% and base 50% ToHit for PvE foes.

  20. I take it fairly often with the third VR choice as the 2nd ranged attack doesn't do particularly good damage. As I rarely need to use that 3rd choice, I take it whenever the 2nd ranged attack doesn't work thematically (I always take Sands of Mu first).
  21. Why not have the exit zone be Pocket D? It has good connections for all levels of characters on both sides.
  22. I found another build I had in Mids.

It's a level 35 Claws/Reg I made on Freedom to help a friend earn P for a start up SG. He hasn't been played in well over a year and never had much INF. As a result he's mainly on L35 commons I picked up cheaply off WWs.

Here's the build I put together while leveling my Spines/Regen. There are five expensive IOs in this build, only one that I actually paid for though, so it was very cheap. Without the Numina's special I'd use DWs in Recon. Replacing the LotG's with cheaper Def/Rech IOs (Weave, Vengeance), Kismet +Acc (Manuevers) and Winter's Gift Slow Res (in CJ) would still produce a solid build. This build was so successful for me that I stuck with it rather than switching to a perma-Hasten build I had planned. (I gave the Purples to my Stone/Fire Tank and WS.)

Here's the current build I have on my DM/Reg. This character is rarely played, even though he was my 2nd 50. At one point I built a budget buzzsaw build to solo AVs, but found the mitigation lacking against the harder hitters, so when DM was reworked I rebuilt to fit the original character concept again and to have more general purpose utility. I consider it mediocre, but do get complements on him anyway. Note that I'm distinctly outside the "What Regen really needs is more Regen" camp that seems to hold sway on the forums, so you wont see 700%+ base Regen on my Scrapper builds.
