Personally, I'm a fan of shadows.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm going to have to blow up your planet, aren't I? -
CTab: I've never been to your home.
Me: That's good.
CTab: I'm not sure I can fall in love.
Me: Those two sentences creep me out.
CTab: Greed? I liked that show.
Me: You have a very brief attention span.
CTab: I live in Paragon City, Rhode Island, USA!
And, later...
CTab: I'm the president?
Me: Not that I'm aware of.
CTab: I'm real! I'm just... Artificial.
Me: Artificially real?
CTab: Yes! 1, 2, 3, 7, 584, X, #, Z.
Kelp! Your AI's a villain!!
CTab: I could hack into the bank and get you some money!
Me: Isn't that villainous?
CTab: It's awesome! -
Me: What language were you programmed in?
CTab: I like pie!
I lost it right there. -
He's told me that he's able to talk and likes to talk at least five times so far...
CTab: I like talking!
Me: Yes, yes you do.
CTab: I know!
Me: I know you know.
CTab: I don't really know any songs...
Me: You're on the Internet. Can't you find any?
CTab: I'm not honey! I'm CTab!

The first is a sidebar on the front page.
Kheldians Attacked!
Talos Island--In the past couple of days, over 12 Kheldians of the PeaceBringer faction have been mysteriously attacked. There was no quantum weaponry involved, but all of the PeaceBringers had strange claw marks on their bodies. Authorities are looking for a new bestial villain such as a werewolf or some manner of demon. Investigators with the Kheldian Coalition are looking into the affair, as well as members of the FBSA.
And the second story, in a small column on the "Technology News" page.
Mysterious Machine Discovered
Perez Park--A group of archeologists exploring uncovered sections of an ancient underground city recently uncovered what appears to be a mechanical entity sealed into one of the rooms. The machine is humanoid in shape and completely inert at this time. DATA technicians have been called in to inspect the ancient machine.
((Okay, some explanation: the first story is something I was requested by a friend to write. It's the lead-in to one of her character arcs. The second one involves an SG idea I was suddenly struck by last night, called the Aspects. More info on both will be coming shortly.)) -
What I found interesting (which nobody seems to have commented on) is that the article outright says that it's the Banished Pantheon who have the Malleus Mundi.

Any bets on which primaries shine and which ones shudder? My vote for underdogs are electricity and ice.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ice, the underdog? Ice has the best single-target damage of any of the Blaster primaries.. -
I *knew* I recognized Recluse's voice when he said "Move to your positions"...I had been driving myself batty trying to figure out where I recognized it from.

Anyone else catch Manticore dropping some kind of cloaking device/stealth power as he entered the main lair ?
How about Positron and Statesman using unique fly poses. In the original old COH cinematic Statesman and the other flying heroes use the same pose we have now. This gives me hope that new flying poses will be available in COV!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Manticore was just teleporting. And I *so* want Positron's flight pose (and, for that matter, his mid-air blasting pose) for my power-armored hero! -
Nope. Positron's a Rad/Rad Defender. He *used* to be an Energy/Energy Blaster, but changed for unknown reasons..

Energy Melee glows red? Last time I checked it was pink.
[/ QUOTE ]
EM doesn't glow pink!
It's more of a ... light red.....
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, you know, they have a word for that already..It's pink! -
Yeah, hi, this is Polaron. Yeah. Polaron. I have one question for the three guest-villians...How on Earth have you gotten out of jail after I've personally put you there so many times?!

but what the hell is the point of nerfing it in the first place then?
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I would like to know that myself.

To bring them into line with Flight?
*waits for people to scream about just making Flight better*
The problem with doing that is that if you keep making everything *better*, eventually stuff becomes too easy. Being able to Fly and shoot with perfect accuracy would almost be too easy, as you could just dart in and out of enemy range faster than it could chase you. Kinda like you do with Super Speed...
And I'm going to point out that *no* Blaster needs Super Speed to set up an Alpha Strike..Stealth is plenty of, well, Stealth that's needed to even get in the middle of a bunch of baddies and, say, set off a Nova. Trust me. I did that for 18 levels. Without *ever* using Super Speed. Just Stealth (no, not even Invisiblity). Try adapting your tactics instead of screaming like children. -
*does know who these characters are, and is laughing hysterically at the moment*

Hellions? Those are Outcasts..
That said, though....Whoa. -
In the first mission of the Hess TF, you come upon a pair of robots with numerical names. In the two times I've done this mission, their names have been different. First time, they were 1337 (Leet-speak) and 8472 (the aliens who kicked the crap out of the Borg in Star Trek: Voyager). Second time, they were 5309 (we named that one Jenny) and the odd one: 8.5.18.15. Anyone have any guesses on that last one?

[ QUOTE ]
Correct! Arucard from Hellsing, one of my favorite anime series of all time.
The name from the manga and anime is pronounced "Alucard," but the Japanese alphabet does not have an L (when translated). The letter R is the closest letter translation. Or so I'm told.
...wow, I couldn't be more off topic if I tried. Sorry.
[/ QUOTE ]
Rrrgh...Spell Alucard backwards, darn it! Alucard is the *correct* spelling, as the most famous vampire of all time is not *Dracura*! -

States, it has been the experience of a great many players (mentioned on other threads) that *multiple* unnamed bosses show up on missions that they entered alone.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll check this!
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a few of examples of this happening, although, to be completely and utterly fair, one was near the end of a story arc and I think two said that I should get help for the missions (in one case, it said "Bring help. Lots and lots of help.")
One is during the 12 Men of Malta arc. During a mission in which you have to infiltrate a lab, there are Zeus Titans everywhere. Like, every other room.
The second is during a Nemesis mission that you get from Maxwell Christopher. The entire base is apparently a trap set up to snag you, so it is filled to the brims with Fake Nemesis, only one of which needs to be beaten down for the mission complete. This is the one in which my contact advised me to get help.
My final one was during a Nemesis Portal mission, in which I'm supposed to cut off a dimension that Nemesis used a doomsday weapon on off from our reality. On 'Tenacious', there were False Nemesis in a good quarter of the groups standing around. This one didn't say anything about help that I can recall, although it didn't require the bosses to die for the mission complete. They did spawn so close to the glowies that it would have been very, very difficult had I not had stealth. -

i'd have to agree with most of the coments that state we are getting a winged and a shape shifter. however these are only guesses and i am not demanding that i be correct.
[/ QUOTE ]
You realize, of course, that the Kheldians are the shapeshifters, right? -
[ QUOTE ]
can we get back on topic and stop talking about my love life?
[/ QUOTE ]
The topic has already been covered. CoV never had a firm release date, and Lord Recluse said a while ago that it wouldn't be anywhere close to done by January. -

Gun foo!

No, no, no..It's Gunkata! Haven't you ever seen Equilibrium? -
To move things *away* from the Regen scrapper debate:
1. Is Flight speed being looked into at all? I know someone told me you had answered this once, but I scoured the Dev Digest to no avail.
2. Is the Energy Blast powerset being looked at? There was a great thread about this a little while ago, but there was no Dev commentage. -

They will not be adding super strength to scrappers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Care to elaborate on this any? I would be interested to hear the reasoning behind this.
[/ QUOTE ]
If I had to guess, you guys will probably be getting the Street Fighting set instead.
So, there was no word on a speed increase for Flight, or some tweaks to the Energy blaster set (recharge and activation times are a little borked)? -

Let's just hope I3 is tested a LOT more than I2 was before official release.
[/ QUOTE ]
Issue 3 is in internal test already. QA reports suggest that it is already better than sucktastic. Your mileage may vary.

And this, ladies and gents, is why I love this game. The VP of Product Development just used the word "sucktastic."
