I'd be happy to help repel the Rikti, as long as we get the booster first. Otherwise I'll pass, see enough as is.

He kept blasting the Clockwork ambushes while four of us were pounding on the construction site, but he was having so much fun none of us had the heart to tell him he was supposed to be shooting the boring pile of scrap metal in the center.
[/ QUOTE ]If you never defeat the Clockwork ambushes, you can pound on the construction site all you want and you'll never get the badge. He was doing the right thing. Who's the newb?
[/ QUOTE ]
um, you? You can completely ignore all the clockwork and still get the badge. In fact, a high enough character can solo the construct with single-target attacks only, hit absolutely nothing else, and get the badge.
[/ QUOTE ]No you can't. You have to defeat the ambushes as well as destroying the contruction. Look into it, everybody else already knows.
This is taken directly from Paraon Wiki:
"In order to stop the construction Heroes need to accomplish two things. First keep the Clockwork from getting the Paladin being built to 100% Health and second defeat the waves of Clockwork that appear trying to stop you. The best strategy for this is to have several team members concentrate their efforts on battling the construction itself while the rest roam the area defeating the many waves of spawns that will arrive. Until all of those waves are defeated no matter how many times you take the Paladin's health bar down to zero the builders will respawn and start over again."

I seriously doubt they'd drop badges after a side switch, it's a history of what you've done and where you've been. Besides, many are available to both and some even have hero/villain versions to differentiate. Something like Hero of the City might change to Betrayer of the City or somesuch.

Gotta label this with a big fat WHO CARES!?!
Can we have the new booster pack, issue 16 news, or Going Rogue new plz. Ty.
[/ QUOTE ]
All the folks who think they are some grand bards. Most folks probably don't give a fig. Just release the doggone booster.
I care, as do a number of other people who have posted here.

Where is the super booster 3?
[/ QUOTE ]My thoughts exactly. -

However, those were never sold as a part of ANY micro-transaction (they were a free part of the free pre-order).
[/ QUOTE ]Pretty sure they were. There was a pack you could buy that just cave the cape and sprints from the DVD edition of CoH. And they weren't a pre-order incentive, they came in the box.
[ QUOTE ]
They were wrong.
[/ QUOTE ] Opinion, not fact. Just because you believe it, doesn't make it so. I think you are quite wrong. It is character customization and should be included with Issue 16, which seems to be all about customization. Instead we get bilked for more money.
The way things are going, all the good stuff will be extra charges it seems. I'm quite surprised that the power color customization wasn't held off for Going Rogue. Entitlement my [censored]. I'm not willing to give the Devs a free pass, as so many boot lickers do, just because I like this game. They've done a lot of cool stuff, but things seem to be heading down a road I'm not particularly fond of. -
It would be stupid and pointless to strip enhancements or salvage when switching, they're the same on both sides.

Hehe yeah. I get the idea. Just knowing its a scheduled thing is enough for me. Now I know if I don't see any threads on it, it is "most likely" scheduled maintenance.

Yeah - the Server Status page is quite helpful really ... like, I mean, right now it's indicating that the servers are already up. And technically speaking the two hour maint window isn't over yet. They're early.
They do that sometimes, so it's worth checking. It's even possible for them to be done and back online within half an hour or so, though that's rare.
[/ QUOTE ]Server status page is often a joke. I've often been able to log in while the status page says down for quite some time. -
[ QUOTE ]
If I were to go to Denny's and they got my order wrong, I'd signal the server, explain the problem and she'd take it back to the kitchen to either fix the order or redo it entirely, and it would be done without any kind of fuss (assuming it was both a legitimate complaint on my part and that I was polite and respectful about it).
Is it really too much to ask of gaming companies in general for, at the very least, service that I would expect at a damn Denny's?
[/ QUOTE ]So you're saying you want NCSoft to "spit in your food"? Honestly, no matter if you are right and completely respectful/polite, you can't predict a server or cook getting annoyed at having to redo an order and giving you a little "surprise". -

Or if they can test power sets on an NPC before a large player base...Lazy or brillaint you decide.
[/ QUOTE ]Considering the NPC in question in this case has been around for years, I'm gonna have to go with lazy. -
I do recall it being said that we could be a double agent too. In my mind that would neccessitate being able to visit all zones. And it would be a glaring omission if you couldn't start grey and let the moral compass go where it may.

[ QUOTE ]
Lothic, are you just copy+pasting that reply?
[/ QUOTE ]I know I've read it word for word in at least 3 threads. If you can't type something new . . . don't. -
They are hardly changed at all. Just slightly more detail in them.
-
They have specifically stated that fallen heroes can go to the Rogue Isles and redeemed villains can go to Paragon City.
-
The more I think about Going Rogue, which I am greatly anticipating, the more questions I have. I do hope some of these are able to be answered before long.
When switching sides, will we lose all infamy/influence? I would think we will, since it doesn't really make sense otherwise. The cost of switching sides.
If you have a level 50 hero or villain and switch sides, will you also automatically unlock the Epic AT for that faction? I would hope so, but I have my doubts. I think maybe with Going Rogue we should unlock all 4 epic ATs with your first 50 of either hero or villain.
If we choose to make a morally "grey" character and tread the line between good and evil, will we be able to visit both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles in addition to Praetoria? I very much doubt this will be allowed, but it really should. If you're "grey", you should be able to visit any zone. Though I'm uncertain how you would go from Paragon to the Isles, or vice versa, without stopping in Praetoria first. It would be nice though, experience both sides at the same time with the same character.
Any other question, concerns, comments? Everything is obviously speculation at this point, but hopefully we won't be in the dark for much longer. -

Ghost Falcon said in-game that barring fixes (and a small addition Jay might be making), the booster is pretty much in its completed form.
[/ QUOTE ]Yet we still inexplicably don't have it yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
I bolded the important part for you. There are several issues with some of the features they need to fix, and Jay is trying to give us some masking options with one or two of the costume pieces.
[/ QUOTE ]Perhaps you didn't read the part about "pretty much in it's completed form." It's just costume pieces, it shouldn't be taking several weeks as some folks are suggesting by beating us over the head with it in every other thread. -
I was happy to see that the official belt now seems to be available to all tops options instead of just shirts and jackets.

*The fact that there is no law prohibiting Nazis as enemies in video games anywhere in Europe doesn't change the fact that many people on the boards (and, to be honest, possibly some people in NCsoft or Cryptic management) were convinced that there were laws prohibiting Nazis in video games,** and that's why the Council replaced the 5th Column shortly before City of Heroes was to be launched in Europe.
**Or perhaps there would just be excessive controversy.
[i]Edit: Changed an "s" to a "t".
[/ QUOTE ]There might not be a law precisely against Nazis in video games, but there are laws against displaying any Nazi items (such as flags or armbands). I suppose it would be up the government to determine whether or not that law applied. -

Who knows when they'll get around to selling it, I was certainly hoping it would be this week. No joy it seems. And the only answer forthcoming is "we haven't announced a release date yet."
-
Sure, it's easy to get a name. . .if you want just anything. But if you're like me and you want a real comic book sounding name, you're usually SOL for anything good. Especially on Virtue and Freedom. None of what you list as examples are appealing to me in the least, i'd never resort to those sort of names. I want names I could potentially see for sale at my local comic shop, and generally those sort of names are long gone.
-
Once again, I'll vote for whichever option gets the booster to us the quickest. The two color option can be patched in later.
-
Not sure if this has been mentioned or noticed yet. The Official belt (the cop belt with nightstick and such) is now available on tights and tops with skin for the ladies, not sure about the men.
-
I was really hoping this would be available for the long weekend.
