I am giddy, GIDDY! I say, for this show. From everything I've seen, they have not skimped on the gore. Starting on Halloween is pretty appropriate as well, I'd say.
Actually, it was supposed to start last Sunday to sort of kick of AMC's Fearfest. It was postponed because they feared going up against the Vikings/Packers game.
  2. This pretty much sums up my feeling about waiting for new issues and such.

Seriously, that binocular scene is found in another clip linked there near the video shown above, and that was the one I recalled too, with the girl.

How much you want to bet that sometime in the next decade or so, for the (god) 40th anniversary of Star Wars (no new hope like Knightfox says too lol) he'll come out and admit that they were shown in theaters. It's so harsh to blanket the mistake they made - I mean, maybe they meant all the copies to be altered and didn't get edited? Or there was one master copy that wasn't edited, and released that way until they realized the mistake? It was all around the country too, so it may just have been a distribution error on their part, but still, it was THERE, and we SAW it, and we weren't HALLUCINATING.
It's funny because I could swear there was a line that isn't there anymore. When I saw the original Star Wars 33 years ago, I remember seeing it in theaters a couple times. I could swear that the post trash compactor scene went like this:

Leia: Would somebody get this walking carpet out of my way?!
    Chewbacca: Rowr
Han: No, Chewie. You can't rip her arms off.

Now I'm fairly certain that this is only a warped and incorrect memory from my youth, but I wonder now after reading things like this. And, like Ironik, I was watching in Dayton, Ohio too. Still am.

Oh, and what was with Luke's Gilligan hat? LOL
  4. I remember from way back in my youth, when the then titles Star Wars (no New Hope) came out and I was in a frenzy for any merchandise I could get. Or get my parents to buy me. I had tons of Star Wars trading cards. Each new batch had different color borders to identify them. I also had a book about the movie, geared towards kids, that had lots of photos. I remember quite well seeing stills of these lost scenes that were never in the movie. I was a kid and didn't know editorial cuts from cold cuts, but I always wondered why they weren't in the movie.

I remember too how my book referred to Darth Vader as a Dark Lord of the Sith, even though we'd never been told what the frak a Sith was at that point.
  5. I second the idea of tossing organic armor with skin into this pack. Then I'd actually buy it, I've been wanting those pieces ever since they were foolishly omitted from the mutant booster.

So from a States viewpoint it was perfect timing
The only people who had off are students, teachers, banks and government workers. The vast majority of the U.S. works on Columbus Day.

. Don't read too much into it or get your hopes too high. His first post specifically said "So in this thread, let's talk specifically about the possibility of reaching back into the COH archives and getting you those options. IF we decided to do that, what would be your top choices?". He even emphasized the IF, he didn't ever say when. It's still just spitballing and conjecture at this point.

The clockwork key back piece is likely too "signature" and involves a back item which we cant have yet anyway.

CoT robes have long been discussed as to why we can't have them.
  10. Request threads in the past have borne little to no fruit, but I'll give it a whirl anyway. I take that what you mean by fiiting on the existing rig means no back pieces or leg attachments. My list is as follows:

More Praetorian Police pieces: uniforms, the chest/shoulder piece with badge in it

    Seer boots

    Carnies: boots, bustier, sash, mask

Resistance: the shoulder pads we didn't get

    Sybil dresses: transparent and non

Banished Pantheon: shaman pieces (I've wanted a loincloth piece for some time)

    Succubus boots and tattered costume

    Fashion show pieces

To my knowledge they never specified that we'd get that specific set, nor any other specific set. Nor that they'd be free in issues or whether we'd have to pony up extra ( most likely since it's been a year since the last free pieces other than animating tails). There was a lot of excitement when npc costumes were originally mentioned to be coming to us, and now the stipulations are coming out. I was already disappointed at what we got for Paragon Police pieces, I really wanted the uniform and the combo chest/shoulder piece with a badge in it. The first thing I look for in each expansion/issue (and many others, I'm sure) are the costume pieces. Any issue without them is a disappointment to me, we only get the auras as a concession due to them leaking out early.

The final video (4/4) cuts out right when they're discussing costume pieces.

So, obviously, we'll never get new, free costumes again.
If you're happy getting one free set a year and paying for the rest, more power to ya.

It still doesn't mean they can't acknowledge that someone is gone, especially when the community was wondering if it were true. You can at least do that without going into details. This iron fist approach is rapidly eroding my patience.

We've had the winter event debut in January before, I wouldn't assume it's December.
And Jan/Feb seems early for something as hush hush as issue 20, my guess is closer to April closer to the next anniversary.

    With respect,
Yet another example of this company hiding from controversy. The attitude that is building over there is causing me a great deal concern. I'm already disgusted that we seem to have to pay for costume pieces from here on, and the stone wall is getting old quick.

That might be the case except for the fact that BAB was one of them, that speaks toward something else. But by all means, keep up your drumbeat of blindly extolling and supporting anything and everything that NCSoft does. Converting older parts is certainly POSSIBLE, but it's not something we've commited to.
Smells like backpedalling to me, especially after reading the bits Void Huntress quoted.

Hadn't read of anybody experiencing this, but is explains why the left side of my girls heads are sticking through some hairstyles.

Now... I actually think having unlockable costume stuffs in games is a good thing. However, I would go about it slightly differently, if I were (What I am not) in charge, hehe.
Just in that I would like to have unlockable costume bits that are more detailed, specific or perhaps a bit more jazzy than more generic versions of the same or similar items that are already available to the players.
As an example... Roman-type pieces: I would have maybe one set of costume pieces available for people who would like to make such a character from the beginning. Just some straight up, somewhat generic bronze-age armor pieces, roman helmet(s) and sandals and skirts and whatnot.
Then I would have more spiffy versions of these things as unlockables from the ITF and rewards such as that available in game as being good incentive for different styles of players to try things they may not have done otherwise.
Thats what I've been hoping for for years! I was very perturbed that the Vanguard bits were held back until level 35, that's just weak. But then they give us the Enforcer bits from level 1, and I'm happy. They are suitable stand ins for the Vanguard armor until I get that far. Sadly they didn't continue this with the Vanguard weapons or the Roman pieces, lame. The only option for a Roman themed character is to either wait until a brief period once a year or level to 35 with a costume that in no way represents your character. Just not acceptable to me.

Wrong, there is evidence that you choose to ignore. The snow and firefly auras are specifically mentioned as being tied to an issue. The storm aura is menyptioned as being part of a"separate initiative". If it was meant for a future issue, he would likely have said so as he did for the other two. The carefully chosen word "initiative" is glaringly evident of a booster pack in the wake of the illconceived party pack. It was also the very first thing that came to my mind upon reading the post. And it seems that others arrived at the same conclusion.
