My point exactly, This would definately benifit the people that have a long distance to transfer this information, using a torrent system would end up with faster speeds because they would also be connected to local peers instead of a server half-way across the world.

Problem is, with people on the opposite end of the world like that, there's not going to be all that many other people trying to download it (as by far the majority of the playerbase is US based). Then, when people finish, they're going to generally also stop the uploads, which means there's going to be a rather small window when you'll likely see a rather small benefit (especially since most ISPs have really low upload bandwidth).

It's one of those billions of random pieces of trivia out there. Some people know some, and some people know some and are shocked that everyone else doesn't.

You can run it via Wine or Cedega (the OS X version of CoX is actually running on top of basically the OS X + bundle version of Cedega).

Plus, if he gets it working on OS X, it should basically 'Just Work' on Linux as he's actually making it work on Mono (the cross platform implementation of .Net... Microsoft's version is 'cross platform' as long as the platform is Windows ).

The reason is they haven't even created placeholder graphics for them, I left the market up for a good 30 minutes clicked on a salvage piece and it still said searching. So I guess just the names slipped through the net.

Switch to 'any', sounds like you're on 'Bidding or Selling' (or even just one of the two). The graphics are already there, even read the descriptions (and someone posted a screen shot!).

First off, BitTorrent uses the SHA1 hashing algorithm which is hardly secure. Although it's not completely useless, it's generally considered only useful now for data integrity, not security.

Secondly, I have to add myself to the list of people that were able to download it in very little time- patching actually took longer (being a laptop that's not surprising).

BitTorrent might be something interesting for the devs to look into if they've got some free time to kill, but I really don't see it as a huge priority or anything.

A while back they nerfed my Huntsman like that... but in exchange for making my Mace visible, they made my rifle invisible!

When doing the bank chaos mission and you get killed and arrested, trying to use ANY kind of sniper shot (so far) doesn't work. It fails completely and utterly. Now I think this might be because of the Teleportation suppression debuff thats doing this and it makes it near impossible to break out if I cant use my most powerful attack on the door.

[/ QUOTE ]It is due to the suppression field... and it really shouldn't make that much of a difference. Your sniper power should do the most damage... but that doesnt' mean its damage/cast time is going to be all that amazing.

Personally I think as well that solid "inorganic" objects (crates, cars, doors) Shouldn't have the ability to "evade" or "dodge" attacks that you fire against them. I've seen this a couple times in bank missions and the chaos missions where I miss a car by a mile when I shoot at it.
Personally I think it would be impossible to look at a car, be completely untrained on how to shoot a firearm and still miss it after pointing the barrel at it and pulling the trigger.

[/ QUOTE ]Mayhem, not chaos The objects are a bit tough to destroy in the lower levels, but once you get a few levels on yourself then they just fall right over in your wake.

I noticed this on test, it's a very nice if very subtle addition. There's also new door SFX (like the AE door outside on the upper floor uses it... no longer sounds like an air lock depressurizing)!

It's good to be in the upper-middle-lower class

This savlage could also be only used for a few special recipes (say, temp powers, maybe in the vein of the Lost Curing Wand) you get in Praetorian arcs.

Actually, this is the type of thing that generally results in an absolute mess that no one can go near without the entire mess crashing down upon everyone. The more special cases you program into something, the more likely you'll encounter odd behavior that needs more special cases to handle it.

Not saying it can't be done, just saying that there's major ramifications involved.

Are you having problems connecting on the updater? The updater was also updated this issue... another poster mentioned something similar, his problem was he had made a copy of the updater with another name to get around Vista's UAC auto-detection functionality, which he'd start instead... which'd result in issues with trying to update itself.

Any info you can give will help.

If you're trying to maximize drones, load up an AE mission where the enemy group is just Advanced Rikti Drones (not sure if the other drones also work).
