Characters don't get deleted after X time around here. If they are below level 6 and the owner's account has been in-active for a time the names become available again, but the characters themselves won't be deleted.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was under the impression the name-release wasn't an automatic feature, but rather a script that NCsoft needs to specifically run. And IIRC they've only done this twice.
I could be mistaken, however.
[/ QUOTE ]You're right, it's not automatic.
It might delete the characters if you delete the trial account on the PlayNC Master Account page... but that's pure speculation on my part. -
As far as I know, trial toons are never deleted, at least under normal circumstances. I'd recommend contacting customer service about how to go about getting the names freed up...
-
I think we've found Twixt's new account.
-
Because the SoA have their stealth cap slightly above the other ATs. If you raise the others at all, then they'd be as high as or higher than them.
-
If you do that, then you're stepping on the toes of the SoA, so you'll have to raise their cap. Oops! Now the SoA are stepping on the toes of Stalkers, and you gotta raise their cap! Great, now Stalkers can't be seen at all!

What? Are you agreeing or disagreeing, Fleeting? You say "Not necessarily", then go on to provide details that seem to support Blackavaar's statement.
[/ QUOTE ]That doesn't support his statement. Vahz aren't undead reanimated through technology- they're far closer to the Terminator robots in Terminator, robots with meant flung on top of them! -
AE has only improved CoX. The old system is still completely there, and a completely legitimate way to get 50s (I'd say XP smoothing did more to 'hurt' that way than AE), we just now have another alternative. Of course there's always rooms for improvement, but I'm pretty much unconcerned.
-
I'd assume it's more so meant for mission maps. Although I'd personally see that as a double edged sword: If I missed a room, it'd help me find it... but at the same time, I use the Fog of War to know where I've been!
-
Well, I wrote a rather long winded reply to the article, but it seems like the site simply swallowed it up into the void... so I'm just gonna post stuff here.
To understand where I'm coming from with this, a little tangent:
One of my good friends is a Psychology major (that just graduated at the top of her class... honestly not surprised in the slightest by that), and most of her focus was cross/multi-cultural psychology, as well as being involved in many things that caused her to be around many people from various different countries/soceities all around the world... so she has a rather good idea how many different societies act in comparison to American society (most people don't realize how grounded in the specific society Psychology actually is!).
She spent a good bit of time teaching me about differences with how other societies work, one of them being that in many societies, instead of starting out being more politie/serious with people, they start out where they make fun of each other, and only when they're actually comfortable with the person will they become serious with them. In those societies, starting out being serious comes off as offensive or even that you're trying to scam them/manipulate them.
The reason I bring that up, is I believe it applies very much to both Freedom (my home server if any of you haven't already realized) as well as PvP in this game (and normally in general). It's okay to talk trash to people, it's okay to make fun of them, it's okay to be in your face- it's not rude, it can actually be polite and respectful! People from other cultures might see that as bad or primitive, but I have to disagree with that notion, it's merely a different way. The way I interact with one of my closest friends is generally always to taunt her/make fun of her/etc... which makes the moments where we're actually serious with each other all the more significant and meaningful. There's pro's and con's to each system, and I don't think anyone can say that one is better than the other... I'd say that there's a time and a place for both (being adaptable is very important!).
With that said, it's not shocking to me in the slightest that Twixt got those reactions in PvP on Freedom- it's part of the culture, not to mention he was intentionally trying to provoke those reactions! I can't say that I'd take anything seriously that anyone said to me in a PvP zone (I take it about as seriously as all that chainmail spam friends used to forward to me that warned that if I didn't send it off I'd die in my sleep that night... fyi, I'm not dead yet).
From the sound of it, he didn't come up with any at all interesting results, mostly just more flamebait for the media to try manipulate to bash their competition (they do compete with games for your time!). -
First off, BINDS! BINDS BINDS BINDS!
I have NUMPAD1-8 bound to select the assocated team mate and cast Fire Shield on them, and DECIMAL on the numberpad is bound to 'powexecname Plasma Shield' so I can literally just type '1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 5 . 6 . 7 . 8 .' and buff the entire team with the two shields (which really only takes a few seconds), and then I pick someone to cast Forge on (generally Brutes LAST, as they get so much +Damage from Fury and have such a low base damage that it's really wasted on them... I prefer going with SoA -> AoE offensive Corruptors, AoE Stalkers, or Dominators -> non-AoE Stalkers -> ST offensive Corruptors -> Brutes -> and don't cast it on Masterminds/buff-only Corruptors).
As Forge recharges I'll cast it on another team mate, and if it's needed, I'll cast Thaw.
I also have 'NUMPAD0' toggle between two bind setups for my keypad, the first as I mentioned has Fire Shield (numbers) and Plasma Shield (decimal), the alternative once I buff and press 'NUMPAD0' switches to thermal-heal.txt, so that the NUMPAD# keys target that team mate and cast Cauterize, while DECIMAL casts Thaw. That way once I buff it's easy to keep people healed as needed, as well as grant mez protection. When the shields expire, I press 'NUMPAD0' again and repeat the shield casting.
For EBs/AVs/GMs/Monsters/etc, I'll cast Heat Exhaustion, but for basically anything else I don't bother with it. I'll cast Melt Armor at the start of any fight with a group.
Even though it looks like a lot, I really spend VERY little time actually having to use my Thermal powers thanks to all my binds which take all the work out of it (unless someone is AFK and I keep forgetting and running around to find them... but I digress), leaving me lots of time to use my Fire Blast primary (mmm... FIRE BALLS!). Also, I <3 Inferno -
There's two registery entries that control the render size (one for X, one for Y).
The path is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\Coh (or CohTest for the training room)
The keys are renderScaleX, and renderScaleY... although they're expressed in percentage of the actual resolution... so based on your numbers, I think setting them to 1.484375 will have the desired effect (assuming it doesn't ignore values over 1.0, I've honestly not tried it out myself).
Unless /rendersize isn't the same as the 3D Resolution Scaling configuration in Options, in which case I have no idea -
A minor change won't fix the issues of stealth in this game... a minor change will only gimp one side while making the other side over powered.
-
Frankenslotting is when you taken multi-aspect IOs from multiple sets and combine them in a single power to maximize the enhancement %. The pros that you can get by with less slots for the same enhancement amount, or enhance more for the same amount of slots, with the cons being that you sacrafice some/all of the set bonuses (which may or may not be a big deal).
It's a great way in the lower levels to get the most out of powers with cheap low level enhancements, and it's a good way at the high end to get add a little bit on top of sets that only need 5 or less to get the bonus you want (say, slot 5 from the set, than another from another set to push everything to the ED cap).
Edit: Also, check out ParagonWiki's explanation. -

Don't tell me how I should look at it the way you do.
[/ QUOTE ]I'm sorry, but you were the one saying it was magical, I was saying I didn't find it magical at all, especially considering the MASSIVE number of other powers that share the same animation that aren't intrinsically magical in nature (oh, I forgot in my last post, a lot of the target buff powers such as the thermal shields use the same animation). -
The animation it uses is shared by most of the summons in the game, as well as many debuffs and other misc powers. It's not magic.

Plus show me the money, and operation cwal, who knew there was a couple starcraft fans here(relevent because I am a fan of the game too.)!
As a side note: modify the phase variance, power overwhelming, the gathering, and black sheep wall.
What?
[/ QUOTE ]I think about 1/3 of my posts mention/reference starcraft in some way, if not out right say I love starcraft, or am merely waiting for the release of Starcraft 2... -

(on a side note, someone pass the word to the devs to turn xp off in AE and make a bigger cap in tickets, plz. I hate the farms.)
[/ QUOTE ]Killing AE farms just means the farms move back to Grandville/Peregrine Island instead of being in Mercy/Atlas (two zones that are easy to solo past). -
It's only a magical casting animation if you decide it is. IMO, the animation itself is rather origin agnostic.

So i'm on the trail and i just turned lvl 7 (villain)... all of a sudden i have no contacts and no missions, i try to click on those computers in the entertainment place like the last quest giver told me but it says i can't... what do i do now? and where do i go now?
[/ QUOTE ]Open your Team window... does it say "Quit Strike Force"? That means you're already on an Architect Entertainment story arc. You can use that button to quit the current arc to try another... or you can quit it and try a real contact in Mercy Island/Port Oakes. -

Well, it had been a while, and I noticed I had endurance reduction enhancments in place but it wouldn't take them, maybe my stalker won't suck (endurance) so much after all

Stalkers rock now. They have a base crit chance out of hide, higher damage modifier now, better defenses, and more health. While health/defense/damage modifiers are still a bit below scrappers, their AS abilities more than make up for the difference.
[/ QUOTE ]They also: Got their base hit points raised (but not the cap), Assassin's Strike Assassination (i.e. when hidden, not just the random chance) when it doesn't kill the target, does an AoE UNresistable -tohit debuff (meaning a level 1 hitting a level 54 AV with 100% tohit debuff resistance will hit it for the full amount) with a decent chance for a high-mag AoE fear (enough to get bosses). There's also smaller scale changes like Moment of Glory's unsuckification (it's now full of win)
Stalkers are now a full fledged AT, instead of a crappy rip-off of Scrappers with the concealment pool. (oh, and don't forget the Patron revamp!) -

Heroes are launching the warheads into space, where they can later call them down on their desired target... generally always in Paragon City.

Or Ancient Cimerora... still trying to figure that out...
[/ QUOTE ]That's easy, Cimerora isn't actually in the past.... it's the future!

And nuking underground is easy... ever heard of bunker busters? -
Check out ParagonWiki for what things like 'Magnitude' mean, and loads of other questions like that. Check out the Real Numbers ('Detailed Info', etc) in game for the actual numbers + things like DPA/DPCC.

I'd assume it's to be consistent with the rest of the buildings in the game.

I'm still kind of confused why heroes are launching the missile though. Unless it's assumed that we are launching an payload-less missle into the sea where it will only cause a small ecological disaster instead of the huge catastrophe it would cause if the villains launched it into Paragon City with its payload intact.

Not new. Been there as long as I can recall just a very rare situation.
