Wow, we are actually learning stuff from this thread. I know you can change the color of your text and bubble but I didn't know you could change the color of your windows. I always thought the colors were locked to blue for hero and red for villain. I think I'm going to try this out.

[/ QUOTE ]If you manually edit the wdw file, you can set the colors/scale on a per window basis (or so I've been told, been meaning to try it out...)

It's just that what you claimed was said was not what was said.

[/ QUOTE ]The Mayhem/Safeguard comment was not about the picture you linked, there's another post where they're explicitly talking about them and that it's not so simple for them.

    [ QUOTE ]
They could fix that, and I've often wondered why they haven't yet done so.

[/ QUOTE ]Maybe because it's not a simple thing to do, like I had already said they said? No, that'd make too much sense! It must be a conspiracy! It's always a conspiracy...

Can't use drag and drop, but the right mouse button menu has entries to add/remove on both the Combat and Attributes Monitor, and on the Attributes Monitor it also has options to move up/down the individual attributes in the list.

Faaaarrrr better than using the big thing
  4. Based on all the dev comments I can conclusively say: We don't have the slightest idea.

    Yep, that's the Attributes Monitor.

Go to Powers -> Combat Attributes -> Right mouse click on an attribute, select "Monitor X" and the Attributes Monitor will pop up. You can modify that by right mouse clicking on the attributes there, or adding more to it from Combat Attributes.

Which picture? And not Combat Attributes, the Attributes Monitor (the smaller version, not the huge one).

    The Attribute Monitor?
  8. There was one with City of Hero (the Korean version), but it's believed we can't have one (in the US) due to the aggreement with Marvel.

We were told that this wasn't as simple as the others to add, but something they'd eventually try to do IIRC.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Uhm...

Please go back and read Positron's post that I linked to. That's not what we were told.

[/ QUOTE ]He said "Anything can be made Flashback". He never said ANYTHING about the difficulty/practicality. You're jumping to conclusions.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
In that thread a number of things were mentioned, mostly Safeguard and Mayhem missions.

[/ QUOTE ]We were told that this wasn't as simple as the others to add, but something they'd eventually try to do IIRC.

I'd also like to recommend Rikti zone invasions and Zombie zone invasions be placed in the flashback system as well.

[/ QUOTE ]No, that's what the triggers are for, and also what Oz is not for.

    [ QUOTE ]
Those special holiday missions that we get in Pocket D could also be added to Flashbacks.

[/ QUOTE ]Keyword: Special. They're not supposed to be always open. Also: Most of the contacts are only there for the actual event, then removed (can't recall if DJ Zero is still used as a contact or not). Can't really give you an Oz arc if the contact doesn't exist.

IIRC, /wdwsave and /wdwload are what you're looking for.

I like my globals And thank god the devs went with transparent windows! It's quite easy to focus on the game and completely ignore all the extra windows, actually

(and if it ever bothers me, I can just disable the UI )

    My GUI

Since this is a new character the power trays are mostly empty... generally the 3 main trays get COMPLETELY filled, with the two extra trays mostly filled.
  14. First off, don't be afraid to roll multiple characters. This is a very alt friendly game.

Most ATs are played pretty evenly (EATs being special aren't counted here ), I'd really just look over all of them and roll whatever seems interesting to you. Also, the whole Holy Trinity (Tank + DPS + Healer) thing isn't really accurate for this game, not to mention that Buffs/Debuffs are extremely good, with 'heals' generally the least effective form of buffing.

For newbie friendly characters, Scrappers and Brutes are good choices, but really anything can be played first. Don't be afraid to experiement, try out whatever seems interesting to you... there's very few gimped powersets in this game (and since Energy Assault now rocks, I'd be hard pressed to come up with one that sucks).

War Returns To Paragon City And The Rogue
    Isles

    A shadow passing overhead

Fire and destruction raining from the sky

A warlike adversary returning to menace
Paragon City and the Rogue Isles once again...

The Rikti are returning. Starting Friday July
    17th (11:00 AM Eastern / 10:00 AM Central /
8:00 AM Pacific) and lasting through Sunday
    July 19th (11:59 PM Eastern / 10:59 PM
    Central / 8:59 PM Pacific)

the Rikti will once again renew their assault.
Every hero and every villains services will be
required to repel these vicious invaders if our
home will be safe from their murderous
invasion. Everyone will be called to action, will
    you answer the call?

  16. The least painful way would be just revamp a piece at a time (engines aren't monolithic!), pushing them out as they finish. And for the billionth time, they've been doing that
  17. A normal recharge reduction isn't a power/buff.

Here's a screen shot of the Attributes Monitor showing the buff active on one of my characters.
  18. It's not marked as a "Global" because those are different from Procs. They're for enhacements that act as if they were a set bonus. FF: +Recharge is a proc, meaning it has a chance to apply a buff to the caster, in this case +100% recharge for 5 seconds. It can not only affect a single power, powers don't work that way.

What troubles me is the job posting that Paragon Studios has that is looking for a producer "for our next MMO". I don't want to see a Cryptic-style brain drain where 3/4 of the resources are shifted to a new MMO title with just a skeleton crew left on this one. We've been there, done that.

Finally, people seem to have odd ideas about how much time and effort it takes to create a new MMO. It's pretty normal to take 3 years to bring something to market.

[/ QUOTE ]It's possible that their 'next MMO' could be non-super hero themed (i.e. different market), but be designed in a way to share the engine with CoX... meaning they'd be able to pool a lot of their resources, sharing improvements and bug fixes.
  20. It's global, I've used it billions of times myself (such an over poweredly awesome proc before they fixed it...). I'm not sure what kind of 'proof' your expecting beyond simply everyone that has used it saying how it works.
  21. I just wanted to say, that GMOTD was an awesome touch- very sublime. Kudos, to who ever thought it up and wrote it!
  22. To put it another way: Accurate ToHit Debuff sets increase the powers' accuracy. Normal ToHit Debuff sets do not include any Accuracy enhancers.
  23. I'm not sure a domain purchased in January 2001 is really proof that NC is working on CoX 2...
  24. As far as I know, it isn't possible. At the very least, it'd likely require changing every single attack in the game to include positions on the damage components...

then resisting a sword vs. a bullet

    [/ QUOTE ]
Kevlar vs chainmail. Kevlar sucks at stopping knives but is good for guns. Chainmail sucks at stopping bullets, but kicks knives' [censored].

Edit: Bah... At least I didn't ask someone 'What AT?' in a thread in the Corruptor forum again....

    What is NCCoin?

NCCoin is used for microtransactions in other NCSoft games, not City of Heroes/Villains.
