Actually, I was trying to make a brokeback mountain joke at your expense
-
You mean, new people don't know about an old raid that's largely considered horrible by a large percentage of the vets? That gives out a crappy reward that can be had for often 1/2 the time investment, with also a LOT less work and organization? No one's gonna explain it, because most people would rather pretend it didn't exist, such a shameful excuse for content.
And seriously, 'lol' at trying to start a Hami raid using /b. -
You really wanna be remembered as the person that thought about cowboys after hearing "going rough"?

[ QUOTE ]
I already have my Controller's and a few Brutes; I'm gearing up for Rogue and have a couple of melee powerset combos I'm looking to use but before I start leveling either choice (Brute/Scrapper), I was looking to get a little more insight into the two.
[/ QUOTE ]If you don't have any Scrappers yet, I'd say go with one. They play a good bit differently than Brutes, although not extremely.
[ QUOTE ]
The things actually being pointed out are the Brute's higher base HP, higher resis cap and a more consistent high damage output.
[/ QUOTE ]No, Scrappers are the ones with a more consistent damage output. Brutes have an EXTREMELY low base damage, and without building up Fury, do worse damage than a Tanker! Scrappers are the consistent AT, while Brutes have to build up, and can potentially beat Scrapper's damage in ideal situations (but in ideal situations, it often won't matter which you have).

Personally, I'd really take either. If I had to choose, I'd take one brute (maybe two), then Scrappers after that (and screw the tanks!).
The reasoning for that is that Brute's depend on Fury for good damage output (REALLY good damage output...), and holding aggro is the best way to build Fury... having too many Brutes mean they'll just be cutting into each other's Fury. So if you go with one (maybe two) Brutes, and then some Scrappers, you should have the best of both worlds, since you can get one/two Brutes at nearly max Fury, and then the Scrappers can enjoy their Scrapperlock without having to worry about the rest of the team... 'cause that's the Brute's job!
[/ QUOTE ]
Enemy fire contributes less to generation and maintenance of Fury than the Brute's own attacks. An initial volley will help boost it quickly if it's empty, but then the Brute's own actions take over. With a decent build, Fury is just there for you; it's not dependent on "holding aggro" for a team.
[/ QUOTE ]Little known fact: Attacks don't generator Fury over 70%. That's something people don't know and don't realize. Attacks check to see your Fury level, and when it's over 70%, they won't contribute to it.
Before 70%, both are useful and helpful... but to get over 70%, you have to have aggro (read: people trying to attack you). But regardless, my point still stands, Brutes and Scrappers are largely interchangable- neither are really better than the other when taken as a whole. -
I like my 'qft' where I don't write 'qft' and make it sound like I'm disagreeing with the person when I'm really saying exactly what they said

Brutes in PvE are better than Scrappers, Just my observation after nearly 4 years of doing both mainly
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not an observation. It's an opinion. And one I disagree with.
[/ QUOTE ]I'd say in some situations they're better... and in others they're worse. But, IMO, the difference really won't matter 99.9% of the time. And if you're trying to maximize performance to obscene levels... why the hell are you even CONSIDERING anything other than Controllers? -

Debt? What is this debt of which you speak?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's what you get when you're on a PUG without a clue and have to go to the hospital when you're out of patrol XP.
I think I got some once.
[/ QUOTE ]Huh? I was on a PuG today... and we rushed the bank... Everyone else went to the hospital and I soloed the Longbow + Private Security... so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Is it a proc? -

My question is "what is causing the change from 'http' to 'https' when clicking on 'My Home'?"
My guess is that it's the website that is doing it, not IE. (This issue began a few months back, and my browser hasn't changed since then.)
[/ QUOTE ]Yep, it's the website. You can see this by just hovering the mouse over the My Home link and looking at the status bar... it starts off with "https://".
[ QUOTE ]
Now, I'm not a network security expert, but I think that the reason this is happening is because the "My Home" section of the site is intended to be more secure than the rest of the site because that is where you can change your password, read your email, etc.
[/ QUOTE ]This is exactly why.
@Finduilas,
[ QUOTE ]
"The current web page is trying to open a site in your trusted sites list. Do you want to allow it?"
[/ QUOTE ]This is an attempt to try to limit the ability of an untrusted site from being able to do things it's not supposed to be able to do by referencing a trusted site. I'd honestly never put any sites into the trusted list... there's just no reason.
You can avoid this situation by simply opening My Home/the new PM flag link in a new tab (Middle Mouse Button on every browser under the sun, except maybe IE), and then closing that tab when you're done with the stuff in it. Tabs ftw -

Is the standard rate of 1.67 the only part that can be enhanced because the rest actually comes from [Conditioning]?
[/ QUOTE ]If this was the case, that'd be a bug, as VEATs are supposed to actually have an increased base. So if that WAS the case... we'd actually have two bugs on our hands... a display error, and a... whatever that first thing would be classified as -

Same mechanic as Confuse... it actually increases XP/minute... some people just don't understand that.
[/ QUOTE ]
[Really NOT trying to be snarky}
Since when? I was under th impression that (and I've never used confuse, btw...even though I have 3 ILL trollers), 'arresting' that enemies that have taken damage from an NPC, yield a lower amount of Xp depending on the damage taken from said NPC (including some powers, ie: confuse, OLD chain reaction, others). Even in MA (or AE, whatever...make up our minds, people!
).
AM I wrong? AM I a n00b?
P.S. Don't answer that last one, hehe.
[/ QUOTE ]Yes, the XP per mob will be lower... but, you'll be able to kill more mobs in the same time frame, which'll result in a net increase. Lets say your NPC ally is doing a LOT of damage... and you're only really doing about 20% of the damage to each mob. What does that do to the XP you'd make for that mission? It'd cut it in half... BUT, what does it do to how long it took to complete the mission? It was cut to one fifth! That's a one hundred and fifty percent increase in earned XP per minute!
See this chart for how it works out. Really, confuses is basically one of the most underrated abilities in the entire game (which is why I love Seeds of Confusion... it's up basically every mob, and it's pretty easy to hit the entire spawn with it). -
There's a few different strategies. Basically, the boil down to tanking one set (Rom or Nictusii) while the rest attack the other(s). Also, if the Tank is tanking the nictus, make sure he's pulled them far enough away to NOT heal Rommie... also, when the nictus spawns a CRAP LOAD of of little nictii, hitting it with an AoE confuse has hilariously good results.
-
Enhancements are supposed to be permanent. There's a difference between them and putting on some shoes.
Now, having a variety of different methods to respec (that all use a token) is perfectly fine IMO. -
It's not too far from some grates... but IIRC, there's a lot of different grates

Multiple sets of armor? Not all armor is appropriate for all situations, that could easily explain it for your character.

Fact is, it is not a farm, never resembled one either.

If I want a email notice, then I should get one when it involves important issues like this.
[/ QUOTE ]You got a notice in the GMOTD.
[ QUOTE ]
I am not going to pick apart every thread daily, I have better things to do with my life.
[/ QUOTE ]You only had to see the GMOTD... which everyone sees, either the moment they issue it, or upon next login.

and baseless accucasions should come with a penaltiy of some form to hold down baseless complaints that are loaded as a joke.

And lay off the martyr bit, it comes off as silly when in a video game forum. -

[ QUOTE ]
Yes, it's still there. Also, it's NOT behind a 'door' like an instanced mission/shop. It's more so a secret passage... I was able to just find it again just now after only a minute of looking (mostly the actual travel time).
[/ QUOTE ]
I went looking for that again recently and couldn't find it. Can you at least give me a hint? I'd like to find it again.
[/ QUOTE ]Check my YouTube profile (City of Villains - Grandville's Secret Room) to see the video of me going there... For just a hint... it's in a corner, between two... big objects? Like huge circuit breaks/thingies. You think there's a wall there, but there's actually not, but you can't actually tell just by looking. It's not in the really low red/misty area. -
Omelet.
Spanish olives, caper, cheese, and a touch of vinegar juice. -
[ QUOTE ]
What does the EB do? It steals XP, I have had people quit playing with me on the mission owing to that - with complaints as to it was not worth their time.
[/ QUOTE ]Same mechanic as Confuse... it actually increases XP/minute... some people just don't understand that. -
[ QUOTE ]
Swell, I did not get the "memo". How about an email to all subscribers next time? Just because they post it in a thread does not mean I read it or even come here much anymore. I pay to play like everyone else, a simple email warning would have been nice.
[/ QUOTE ]There was a Global Message of the Day that went out...

Well when they finally "see" what the story is, it will pass with flying colors.

[ QUOTE ]
It only had 60 reviews in all this time. 60 does not even come close to a "farm".
[/ QUOTE ]What on earth does that even mean? You don't have to review a mission upon completion... running a mission multiple times also doesn't let you review multiple times... you seem to not understand what that means really...
[ QUOTE ]
I want to face my accuser next time, make them tell me why they think it is a farm and prove it to me.
[/ QUOTE ]Not how the system works.
And again, by your own description it sounded like a farm to me... -

The NAME alone does not make it a farm.

5 missions is now, not then and the cost was high if you used custom designs which I did.
[/ QUOTE ]It was 5 missions since launch. Using lots of custom critters (17+ IIRC) will use up pretty much all of your space, though. Likely if you deleted ONCE NPC you could have created 5 missions in the arc.
[ QUOTE ]
It was no different than any other Freakshow mission. Groups were scattered, there were 4 floors of Freakshow, Dreck at the end. Define that a farm when the same is available on the hero side.
[/ QUOTE ]One massive freakshow mission, with an EB kin buff bot, and Dreck? Are you describing your mission, or the Dreck farm? Seriously now! From your own description it sounds like a farm.
[ QUOTE ]
Can be seen as a farm? Ok, so we are guilty till proven innocent? That is justice?
[/ QUOTE ]Contact customer support, they'll check it out. If they determine it's not a farm and unban it, it becomes unbannable unless a GM explicitly bans it/you edit it... if not, well, it looks like they found it to look like a farm as well as the person (people?) that reported it.
