I was sure I had responded to this thread... but apparently I didn't...
So, I'll leave you with this: Yes. Very much so. So freaking hard.
Edit: Did I say yes? -
Yes, simply paying inf for powerleveling in game (as long as you don't let them use your account or anything) is perfectly fine. The devs do try to curb the frequency, but their actions usually amount to adjusting missions rather than taking direct action against players (the devs also point out that if you pay someone to PL you, and they don't, you're on your own).

Quote:Yes, the EULA bans selling in game services, or assisting in selling (i.e. buying).
From the enormous amount of spam emails that I receive advertising this service, does CoH specifically outlaw or ban power leveling services, where a player pays real-life money to have someone lvl there guy from 1-50?
i16 includes new anti-spam features that should greatly screw over their ability to be scumbags.
Edit: Here's some quotes... from the Rules of Conduct:Quote:10. You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying, selling, trading, sharing, or transferring access to any City of Heroes account.
11. You may not advertise the intent to or commit the act of buying or selling items for cash or trading items from one server to another.Quote:You may not sell or auction any Game(s) accounts, characters, items, currency or copyrighted material for real-world money or items or services of any value, nor may you assist others in doing so. -
Quote:Am I the only one that finds it sad that the best estimates say it'll take us twice as long to get back to the moon as it did the first time, 40 years ago? Hell, in about a year we'll have NO WAY to get a man into space and will have to start outsourcing that!Hey, they are one of the few institutes left that wish to expand our minds instead of our [censored].

To optimize for purples, I'd recommend setting the difficulty to -1 (meaning they spawn -1 con level to you), and the virtual team size as to being as large as you can handle (even with bosses, you could basically just ignore them for maximum minion/lt killings), using the new difficulty system in i16.
Being -1s will allow you to use more interesting builds that normally wouldn't be practical for soloing a 6+ man spawn of +2s. -

Quote:At this point, I'd bet they're wanting to ride through WoW and CO's big media using Power Customization/i16, then when those two start getting quiet, come out big with Going Rogue info... that way, CoH has less competition to getting the word out, while still having a presence to compete with their competition.I'd really like to see what they are planning with Going Rogue. WoW laid everything out with their announcement video, CO just launched. Now would be a good time to something!
Of course, that doesn't mean you couldn't persuade the devs into telling you juicy details about GR, especially if you bring cookies -

Quote:/unsigned majorlyOr, a percentage of the listing fees at the Market could go into a pot, being awarded to a random player(s) upon some predetermined thing.
The listing fees are there to help curb the massive inflation in the in-game economy. The pot should be entirely funded by people buying lotto tickets. -

The shenanigans are basically what I said in the first post: Some people spam-reporting everyone that didn't support their suggestions (and at least a few that did), and JRanger's legacy of 'no' (which become /JRanger and a few other colorful variants) insta-response to most of the suggestions on this board (most of which were bad, he had a few 'yes'es).
There's not really much more to it. -

While they're at it, let us use some of the other weapon stances like the gun aim pose (Sniper Rifle style), or the sword pointing pose (sword pointing style... I think Tsoo use one).

Quote:I'd say a combination of monitor calibration and the cone's calibration in the eyes. After reading the text on the hero skin on my laptop for a while all the letters start getting blurred and distorted for me, making it extremely hard to try to read- while the red background is perfectly fine for my eyes. But, while reading the text for a good while on another monitor (one where everything is much darker) I have no trouble with the blue skin. It's funny how some people get eyestrain from red but not blue, or vice versa. I wonder if there's a reason for that in the eye.
It might be that the red sensing cones in my eyes are stronger than the blue cones, and the people with the reverse issue have the reverse imbalance... and the blue/red shade is just right to cause issue with whites for us.
Or it could be witches. It's probably witches. -

No. Marvel is a bunch of *** holes that sue people for going near 'their' words. Disney changes the law (see the copyright extension acts that they've lobbied for to keep Mickey Mouse out of the public domain). To compare it to the game, Marvel is the Skyraiders, while Disney is Nemesis... Skyraiders just shoot you and teleport around... Nemesis flat out rewrites history, starting inter-dimensional wars.

Quote:And most of those I'd list as reasons why blue side isn't attractive to me (don't forget the OP's complaint!).I wasn't comparing, just listing reasons why "play villians" isn't really that attractive to me. I should have been more verbose.
And you miss the best zone on blue side: Croatoa!

Quote:Apparently you didn't take it into accountYea... custom critters do make it hard to keep tabs on what's going on. Although... I always take that into account when I came across the situations that I did.
Quote:I'm going to try to go back and get some better case studies done w/ the Maniac Slammer bosses.
Quote:But it'll probably end up being like "trying to get your car mechanic to hear that noise". I won't be able to recreate the issues I've experienced. But I'm sure as hell gonna try! -
The OP's signature includes: @Sing Star (Extreme EU Defiant villain badge hunter), meaning his account is an EU account, also meaning he would have been on the EU forums, and likely not the US forums. The events we were talking about happened on the US forum, so he likely would have never heard about it.

Well, the thing about AE, is that the enemies can get access to a MASSIVE array of powers (often around 20... when a standard NPC with 6 powers is a LOT), including ones that grant a huge amount of protection. When playing in AE, you shouldn't expect to know what any arbitrary custom critter will do, or what'll take them down.

Play villain side. And when did the devs "wonder why people are in AE"?
