What impact would that have on tells? So that means each character could have five names... for a potential of 180 names taken by a single person on a server per account?

Quote:You mean the hunt missions? I don't want them to be eliminated (more than a few could be, though)... and by 'one' do you mean only one on a contact, or so it's only hunt one of the enemy? And what on earth does the second sentence even mean?
Eliminate the defeat a certain amount of enemies, or limit it to one, and one only. Then have the missions run to finish the Arc.
Quote:This will reduce the amount of time spent for those who might do them for merits.
Quote:Also go forward, have the zones linked, so if in Steel and a mish is required in Perez, the entrance is there. -
Quote:I wasn't making fun of Elec Blast, I was making fun of how all the newb/noob empaths always seem to choose emp/elec. I did. A friend I got into the game did. And it seems like if I team with a bad emp, they're most likely emp/elec (not to say that emp/elec are the most likely to be bad or anything).
Well, in creating my second-ever character - an empath, I made exactly that 'mistake' (choosing the electric secondary), but I also quickly learned how to turn it into an advantage.
Quote:Oft unnoticed (and underrated, imo) is the jiggly-zapped animation they go through (or you go through when you're endurance is zapped clean) that effectively puts them out of combat for an entire round, mitigating any potential damage they may cause although they still have hit points. -

If you're wanting to increase your team's survivability, heals are a poor way to go about it. Heals are a purely reactive means to keep your team alive, while basically everything else in the game is proactive. If you're wanting to be a 'healz0r', then roll an empathy 'fender (bonus points for elec secondary to match all the others
). I'm, personally, a huge fan of Thermal, due to the shields and other nice buffs, the amazing debuffs, and lastly, the heals (I just enjoy using them, even though I don't need them at all often
)

Join a global channel or a decent super group and you'll get the best teaming opportunities in the game. Of course, if you're a decent player you'll generally still not have any trouble even on a poor PuG (it really doesn't take much to make a successful, even if not the best, team in this game
).
Also, the LFT flags are a horrible way to find a team, I'd say far worse than broadcast (okay, using local in the Chantry is worse... but that's cheating).

Those don't have the same potential for graphical lag that the healing spam does, not to mention that those aren't close to as loud (did they ever fix it where the healing sound would play for every person that got healed, causing it to very quickly get obscenely loud?)

Also, just before anyone reference the quote, yes, Positron did once mention the possibility of a server-less environment. But mind you, you have to understand the context: He wasn't saying it was something they were considering, he was merely covering NC's butt in case NC did something that'd make people's purchases of server transfers pointless, like the a-fore-mentioned serverless environment.
(people would still demand the refund, though) -
Quote:I'm not sure if they were called 'War Walls', but the Rikti did build walls around the different neighborhoods. Whether Paragon later converted those to what we have today, or bulldozed them and built the new ones I wasn't sure about, so I purposely worded my post in a vague way that I could go either way and still look like I got half a clue what I'm talking aboutReally? I thought they were built after the first invasion using salvaged Rikti technology.
Honestly, how could a city, while recovering from the most devastating war in the history of the world, build such a colossal structure in so little time... not to mention having all the resources just for the material! Remember, it's taller than most buildings in the low areas, with areas rivaling the height of the tallest sky scrapers in Paragon! I figure it's more likely that Paragon used the Rikti's walls as a base for theirs- after all, we already know they're using their technology for it! -
Can I haz your IOs?
(aww... nothing on Guardian... but I still haz sum on Freedom and Virtue to take it)
Good luck on your future pursuits, as long as they're not CO, in which case you shall be tarred and feathered. -
1.) Why do you think Batman had Robin around? Yeah
2.) This has been suggested several times before, although mostly focusing on the zones and not the arenas. The first response w.r.t. the arenas would probably be telling you to 'just go to test' which is one solution, although not one I like myself. Personally, I like the idea, the main issue being technical in my view (i.e. making all the infrastructure to be able to dynamically transfer the character to another server for the fight... which isn't likely to be easy since some of the server farms are on the opposite side of the country from the others, possibly meaning they'd have to communicate via the internet and not a dedicated network).
Also, your pros 2 and 3 don't really make any sense to me in this context... You can already 'do' 2, and there's already badges associated with pvp (and accolades on red side). -

The Hero-side population is generally a fair amount higher than the Villain population. The population of a PvP zone, though, depends hugely on the time and the server.

Those are the War Walls. The very original War Walls were built by the Rikti as a means of limiting the movement of Heroes attempting to fight them off, solidifying their control of a region. The current ones are there to make it harder for the Rikti to invade a zone, as well as contain other threats.
The RI doesn't have them due to likely being much less of a major target during the original Rikti Invasion- or maybe because Lord Recluse has made dealings with the Rikti. -
Quote:Accolades (rewarded for having a certain combination of badges) (generally) grant your character various buffs/powers, such as +5% hp, or +5% endurance, or 30 seconds of +30 res/def (numbers something along those lines), etc. Most of them are really nice for something completely free.Blimey!!! I thought i was doing well with 67. So besides beacons, do badges have any other effect on your hero?
And there's also the day job badges, which when you get the Accolade for them will make that day job location grant another reward at the same time as the original. -
You need a way to give the widget Always On Top status- you can do this with Opera's widgets. Or, you could just use the clock on the task bar.

Quote:OpenOffice still has trouble opening a lot of Word files, especially the most complex ones... and then you also have to make sure you save in the appropriate format for compatibility with MS Office (OpenDocument still won't cut it yet).www.openoffice.org
Free office software. Not bad, but it does have a one-button PDF converter, and is free. -
Hurl boulder doesn't do DoT
It's most likely the lag issue that Rodoan mentioned. -
Quote:All Defender and all Controller super teams put all others to shame. Capped defense, resistance, tohit, damage, -res, -def, +recharge, etc. The other ATs can't do that. Defenders and Controllers synergize infinitely better than any other AT in the game- due to their force multiplying nature.Interesting point...could you elaborate on it?
I've heard from friends that "All Defender TFs" go off without a hitch...but then, so do "All Tanker TFs", "All Scrapper TFs", "All Controller TFs", etc...My point being, put 8 of anything together in this game, and they will synergise... -
Quote:"a little below the average" and "redundant" are not the same things.
In a game that does seem to put emphasis on having equality amongst ATs and powersets, the Defender seems to me to be a little below the average. -
Quote:You seemed to have completely missed my point: My point wasn't to say (de)buffs aren't needed. My point was to say nothing in this game is needed, hence the 'welcome to cox' in my first post. You don't need Defenders. You don't need Controllers. You don't need Blasters. You don't need Scrappers. You don't need Tankers. 'Need' in this game is a horrible way to measure how useful an AT is, because you simply don't need any.
according to yourself even, unneeded (de)buffs. -
First off, Psi isn't a very high damage set, especially with lots of heavily psi resistant enemies in the late game.
Secondly, this game is dead easy. You don't need any buffs or debuffs to survive even the late game- so by that logic Controllers aren't needed either... which is why I guess no one invites them either?
My point being, trite hypothetical are heavily contradicted by actual play experience in this game: Defenders are still incredibly popular in the late game.
