Because for some people it is easier to live within their means by buying game time cards. Also people like me who work commission often go through boom bust cycles, so one month I could by like ten cards and put them in my file cabinet but the next month NC Soft hitting my bank account means me going into the negatives.

I was in target 4 days ago (in the SF Bay Area) and they had them with the jump pack. Also about 50% of the local 7-11s have them.

You get a month sub when you buy any full version online. I bought the Mac version to get Valkyrie and one month and Architect to get magic and a month. For two months and just added the code to my GvE edition (which came with a free month), which was put on top of a pre-order game.

They added tags to the MA, that was a QOL issue.

The add copy of almost every MMO trying to get players back is "Your character is still waiting for you to hop right in and play."

CoH isn't that different really. They've already did the level 20 name purge, those 3 year names are open. It's the people who plugged in names after the purge then got to 6 that are "safe" but even then how many are there really.

The issue is this game is alt-friend and people are sitting on names for "Future" characters, or just to keep other people from getting them on other servers. I'm not going to lie, I'm sitting on a few names. Kith on Virtue, for example, never found the perfect character for it, but it's level 10 and just sitting there, and since it's my avatar in half a dozen MUDs, I'm not giving it up any time soon.

That's really not a bad idea. There would be a lot less people running around with unnecessary periods, hyphens, l337, and substituting similar looking letters and numbers to get the names they want.

I played a game that allowed that, (gods I can't remember which one). You are correct there isn't a lot of confusion, but as with all systems it did have it's fair share of deliberate greifing and a lot of multiboxers would run around in masses of the same name, little armies of identical clones, was a bit disconcerting.

When I opened this thread I expected a lot more "In my day" and "Get off my lawn." I was disappointed.

I've had a few names taken, but I do pretty well.

Really compound names are your friend, spaces are your friend, as others have said foreign spellings are your friend. Also oddly unlike other MMOs real world human names are often free. I got my Real Name just two weeks ago on two servers. Sometimes though it is better to use the check name feature before you create your character, it tends to save a lot of heartache.

Edit add: Sofa King is generic bait and reportable. I still have a PM from the last time that became popular.

That's pretty common when you get force booted, trying to log in usually fixes it. Though right now I'm getting "Cannot connect to DB server." So I don't think virtue is really up, it's just thinks it's up.

Honestly I didn't see any warning at all, no red letters of doom or the like, just got kicked on zoning.

50 % of the servers are down.

Probably a hot fix for something.

In general, I like the new version better. But on that one costume, I much prefer the old one, because the texture much more closely matches the tech skin for the robotic arm I was using it with. Now it doesn't look like a single unit anymore, it looks like a robotic arm and an armored shoulder plate being worn over it.

I'm getting weary of reading this after five years of people missing the point. They're not trying to break into bus stops, public phones or light posts, they're VANDALISING them. Read their dialogue and it should become clear. They say things like "Yeah, I'm gonna' leave my mark on this!" Why do people always assume that if someone takes a hammer and chisel to a bus stop, they're trying to "break in?"

Because they also have the dialog, "This is going to be the big score." or something to that effect. Also the animation is not one of chiseling a name, but prying at it with a pry bar. Same effect for when they are trying to "break" into the power boxes. Really we have different levels of immersion and suspension of disbelief is a wonderful thing, but I've never seen someone chisels their tag into an object and should someone do that they will not do it with a pry bar, nor require two buddies.

Meanwhile it's funny you mention Light Poles around where I live people "break"* into light poles all the time to steal the wire to sell as salvage, it's a huge problem. Heck maybe Paragon has the same problem.

*Actually they pop off the access plate and pull the wire out.

With the new stupid prices on common salvage a couple hours in Ouro is turning quite profitable for me.

All my exp is converted into influance and all those white salvage sell for between 10,000 and 100,000.

If you want to play the market, there is the old set it and forget it strategy. I put up a bid for 10 common salvage on Saturday for 5,000 to make IOs, when I logged on tonight I found my buy order filled and found they where selling for 100,000. Had I been more inclined to make money that would have been a huge profit right there, for zero work.

My first thought was "I didn't read about any changes to Master Minds."

So really what is the OP talking about here?

There is no getting them in the least amount of time. All the dual spots are gone and they all take 21 days to get. If you can't figure out "go to x, log out of 21 days" then a guide may not help you.

This isn't like the crafting badges where some means are cheaper then others, this is just sit and twaddle till the 21 days expires.

When all else fails try the Wiki.

You know I only go into AE to get the destructive badge because it's just a cool title. I hit 15, based on hallows, bank mission, lost wand and posi, so that idea of expecting me to finish all my contacts sucks rocks. Meanwhile I can't tell you which line is which on the darn trams, it's just the north and south lines in my mind. Lastly I am 90% sure I am playing Pong, it's why I made an energy blaster.

I've got so many vetspecs and do the trials for badges I forget I even have freespecs. How many times dose a person have to change their characters?
