hehe I get to 6 slot Justice.

I 6-slotted Brawl.
O wait -
Simply awesomesauce. 2 extra slots is all I need on my Freedumb. And the price's not bad either in case I ever need to buy them.
And also:

Wow even PP is happy about this.

I liked this guide. The only thing I would say is that I never *ever* want to do the Dr. Q TF again, but it's a solid guide.
And people, adjust the guide to your needs, it's obvious you don't need a 'healer' everytime (Posi might be an exception) and you can easily pick some free days and do it in 2 months or more. Why flaming the OP when all he wanted to do was share his experience and contribute with a guide?
I should add that joining the most popular channel on your server (do a channel search) is the best way imho to assemble a TF, even a shard one can be easily put together (including Dr. Q but good luck with people staying for the whole TF). -
Hey now you can choose your behemoth farmer!
1) Good ol' Fire/Kin
2) Fire/Fire Scrapper
3) Spines/Fire Scrapper
4) Fire/Psi Blaster (since drain psyche will give you massive regen and end recov and you'll have what it looks like a damage+confuse aura. -

Soooo when will the new primary be revealed since it's kinda obvious you won't be doing a direct port of defender psy blast with Subdual and Psy Scream in the secondary?
[/ QUOTE ]
Like I said before, PsiBlast WILL have Aim lolz. I knew it all along
[/ QUOTE ]
I also always thought that. I thought they'd replace tk blast with Aim, but it seems that now there are 3 powers that resemble the defender version of psy blast (Subdual, Psy Scream and TK Thrust - yeah I know TK Thrust is crappy and melee and TK Blast is awesome but they'd look very similar in a Psi/Men blaster). -
[ QUOTE ]
Also, "arresting" people by burning them, shooting them to death, and SHOOTING RADIATION DIRECTLY INTO THE CROTCH (X-Ray Beam) doesn't really seem all that heroic. Hilarious, but not heroic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey you're forgetting Fallout (blowing up a teammate). Or Warshade's 'corpse feeding' powers. -
Soooo when will the new primary be revealed since it's kinda obvious you won't be doing a direct port of defender psy blast with Subdual and Psy Scream in the secondary?

I wanted it to be real to...
Btw this part just gives out the joke:
'Players can optionally disable the Visual Sounds in the options menu, but are encouraged to keep them on, as all the sounds in the game are being removed to make room on the playersÂ’ hard drives for the new Visual Sound graphics.
Issue 12's Improved Character Creator' -
[ QUOTE ]
I like Permafrost. Without additional End Cost it adds another layer of Slow resistance, helps with some Fire resists and most importantly it's a great place to put that Steadfast Protection +3% Defense IO in.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can also put the Steadfast unique in Hoarfrost, and still maximizing heal/rech with 5 doctored wounds. -
-
Larpus you rezzed the thread and made the /EA people all happy.
I know we rickroll people in the forums and stuff but this is... cruel.
You'd better run. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm about 20 now, and I'm finding myself really weak. My dots tick for such little numbers, I dont know how you guys kill anything. I hope it gets better as I level.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well for now all I can say is...
Slor Char for damage, use Fire Cages to set up containment and then close in with hotfeet and spamming Siphon Power/Speed and Char.
I only started to enjoy my f/k at 26 or so when I had hotfeet and char well slotted. -
Well if you want some constructive criticism...
I think your guide is lacking on info.
You didn't say what are the Charged Armor, Static Shield and Cond. Shield resists are against, you didn't mention Grounded protects against End Drain and is your Immob protection if you don't use Combat Jumping, that Power Sink is autohit, Fault can knock down multiple foes, Seismic Smash has a mag 4 hold component, or even what the bonus to Buildup is.
Sorry to point out so many things, but in your guide, it seems like powers like Grounded has nothing good going for it since you don't comment about all its effects just because you personally don't pick it. -
Wouldn't Grounded be a nice place to put a Steadfast -KB protection IO since it accept Res sets? That way you'd cover your kb protection (pve at least) when you're in the air too too. After all it wouldnt benefit from endred since it's a passive afaik. Or even a common Res IO to enhance the neg and energy resist a lil bit...
-
Big lulz! This is even better than the broot dark armor guide!
Now you need to go do a guide for people to stop playing TA/Elecs.
Oh wait... -
Very nice guide! But I'm concerned, will a def-based tank really have problems with +3 like Brigadon said? I'm thinking of either fire/fire or ice/fire.
I'm thinking of this build:

Excellent guide ^^
Everything I wanted to know about Thermal is there (I'm already familiar with fire blast). -
[ QUOTE ]
To All:
Except in the actual Guide to Guides thread, I don't ever trot out my forum title, mostly because it's meaningless, however, as the Editor to the Guide to Guides and working with the community reps in keeping this forum (Player Guides) in order, let me assure everyone:
A sample build such as this belongs in the Player Guides sections (where it currently is, i.e., here).
Period.
No need to take personal hostilities against the OP and try to take away her right to post her sample build in this forum just as thousands of others have.
So, back off from that train of discussion. Don't let the word "Guide" become too narrowly defined. It's a more generic term.
Discuss the merits of the build for which it is being used or don't post anything at all. This is not a free for all section of the boards.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh yeah this forum would be really great if it had a bazillion of builds with a few actual guides in between. Have you ever gone to the Controller, Tanker, any At's forums? Anyone can knock themselves out with example builds there.
Here's a good fire/kin guide. See any difference? -
[ QUOTE ]
A sonic villainside without clarity is like an emp without clear mind. Completely lawz.

[ QUOTE ]
For a permadom build (I think I finally found one I won't cry over) I will keep Psychic Scream for its targetted AoE so I can slot Positron's Blast into it (7.5 recharge at 5 slots.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Posi is 6.25%, Manticore, the sniper one, is 7.5%.
Actually for the 6.25% bonus you can slot Decimation for any ranged attack too, at least in my build that would make Psychic Scream replaceable with Mental Blast. -
[ QUOTE ]
I've been trying to find a dom build that I truly enjoy and have yet to find it. I always run into the same problem, trying to decide which powers to get at which lvls and how to slot them while lvling up. Call me weird, but I'm a perfectionist.
Anyway, if anybody has some advice on build layout for ice/psi I'd very much appreciate it. I've seen ice/ doms really do some amazing things and would love to try it out.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm currently at 26 and loving the build. Shiver is so precious for me, I had a friend use Shiver on one of my heroes and it pratically shut me down ('oh noes my powers don't recharge anymore').
That's my build and I'm building it for perma dom, for now I am using only common IOs.
If you don't team a lot or wanna pvp in Siren's Call I suggest you take Mental Blast or Air Superiority to have a decent attack chain. Besides you have to acknowledge that your damage will be lackluster anyway till level 38 when you get Psychic Shockwave. By the way this build almost begs for a respec after PSW since I don't think I'll be using Psychic Scream anymore, but it's been a good pick for me at 18 for leveling.
If you wanna pvp at RV you'd better pick Acrobatics at 49 or whenever you can fit it in.
Cheers!

Great guide (I'm 33 atm), but between Carrion Crepers, the fast recharge in Seeds of Confusion and Fly Trap I haven't really felt the need for Vines. I find that Vines' rech is so long that I'd probably forget to use it a lot just like I did on my Mind troller with Total Domination (respec'ed outta it).

IT'd be a good power if the animation time was halved. -
Just as a note, I have a Mac Mini Core Duo 1.66 with the integrated Intel GMA950 video card and CoH runs quite well in middle settings. Never had a problem (but you'd better go to advanced and turn off shadows, the Intel chip doesn't like them).
-
Shouldn't this be a regular post in the Controller forums?
Considering the OP's usual posts she's mostly showing off what you can do when you get crazy rich and slot everything with purples. IMO it's a bad build for someone who wants to go the fire/kin way with IOs at first.
There's better stuff to post here than a single (and hard to see) build.
Again I'll post what most farmers I've seem use, of course with purples one or other power may be unnecessary but hey, you won't get your fire kin to purples level so fast (my build uses Stone Mastery and Assault instead of Maneuvers - I also have Increase Density for teaming). With normal IOs and even sets I don't think it's too difficult to imagine the slotting for the powers, it would take me too long to put it in Mid's. Basically with 3 rech in Hasten and a stun set in Flashfire you'll get it up every mob to counter alpha, and then it's FS, fire cages, fireball, cinders if needed.. Well if you play your fire kin for at least 10 levels in normal mishes you'll get the proper way to decimate mobs with one ^^
