I wouldn't slot it on a Stalker anyway, it's not like the Placate proc would give you a crit chance like the Placate power. As someone said, as useless as Smoke Flash even if every Stalker could slot it (speaking pve).

Quote:Actually Dark Detonation (the human level 12 AoE power that every triformer skips, actually I've never seen it used, probably because it does less damage than Ebon Eye) has 50% chance of mag 3 kb, if this power was a 'must have' I guess you could say WSs are kinda KB prone. But even with it I wouldn't say they're heavy on KB like an Energy Blaster or a PB.In Nova, only two attacks can do KB. Detonation is high enough knockback, but Blast is single target, is only a 10% chance, and is low magnitude. Gravitic Emanation in human form has KB, but it's not an attack, it's a control power.
The only attack with KB that a WS often cycles is Dark Nova Detonation. If one attack counts for "heavy on KB" then I guess you are right. -
Quote:But you're talking about IOs and power pools, PBs can also take Aid Self. The blaster still gets one shield, up to two self heals (Hoarfrost/Aid Self), starts with more HP and has a much easier time reaching relevant softcaps.
As another option, the blaster could get one resistance shield and a tier nine, but forgoing the second heals.
I'm not going to claim that one is better than the other. That's all I'm saying.
PBs get the shields earlier, two self heals also early, and the phase and godmode before blasters can get Hibernate and etc (dont remember if they have any godmode in the epics, I don't have a high level blaster). They're way more survivable than a blaster till your 44 epic or maybe level 45 when you get at least 2 epics/patrons slotted. I'm saying that because I don't spend too much time on my 50s except for the ones I really care about, which are like 3 now since I burned out on 2 of them (just the two I have purpled builds) and the other 3 I shelved.
Doesn't mean that they'll survive longer everytime of course, my no-defense farming SS/FA Brute kills stuff so fast that even on trials he manages to survive in ridiculous situations because of the stupid damage, while I once had my 50 Elec/Stone Brute defeated by 4 pink (+3) cimeroran bosses because well... ELM sucks for damage on hard targets.
Took forever for them to take me down because my damage was so bad, I sapped them with my elec attacks before killing them, besides Stoners being very tough, but eventually their defense debuffs wore me out (I was kinda testing the brute so I didn't use insps or ran away, I think he still can be good as a damage toon if I get Gloom and more recharge, I built him too much like a Tank, old toon from when I made some bad choices in the build). -
-
Isn't the s/l res less than unslotted tough? CoD is down atm and I'm on mac os x so no mids now.
-
Oh you people don't play Stoners anymore? cmon they're fun, stop farming with your SS/FAs

Quote:Since I babbled too much on my previous post, I'd like to address this separately. I think TF should get its mag 4 stun back at least, ET is fine as it is now (although it was so fun kill stealing the KO Blow using and other teammates with ET back in the day) and doesn't 'deserve' a crit like you said. Two nerfs were too much imho, especially when you compare it to sets like SS (it has Rage to fuel various KO Blows) and the 1.5 sec animating mag 4 hold in Seismic Smash. That's why I'd like MA to get Dragon's Tail, I think EM would be fine with TF on mag 4/critting properly (or at least a bit more so it doesn't oveshadow AS) and being the only primary having ST attacks only.If TF had a full crit it would do more damage than Assassin Strike AND pack a guaranteed mag 3 stun, with no chance of an interrupt. And ET would be even worse. The only thing they could really do would be to make TF do less normal damage, equivalent to Eagle's Claw. Then it could have a full crit and faster recharge, with less endurance cost.
Just to give some numbers... (unenhanced, no BU, I'm on Mac OS X now, no Mids):
AS = about 390 dmg when hidden
TF = about 198 dmg normally, add 55.6 when hidden (so crits are about 253 dmg), so if it critted for double it would crit for about 396 (rounding numbers here, I'm sleepy), doing more than AS. EC crits for 324, TF could crit for about that (or a bit less like 300-315, M.Grasp crits for 307) and retain the mag 4 for the long animation time and longer recharge compared to these other powers. -
Oh I kept mentioning Virtue because since I've been almost exclusively there lately and noticed (had noticed before I left) that people love their concepts so they're more 'able' to take a Stalker or a PB, two notably underperforming classes, to 50, since they worked so much on the theme, the costumes, the concept of the toon (seriously you Virtue guys really make the best costumes) while on Freedom people usually don't have bios on their toons (I rarely do) and there are a lot more speed tfs going on, sometimes it seems like it's the only kind they do there. Not bashing on Freedom, my experience there is mostly positive, as in Virtue, but on Freedom people seem more interested in playing the 'better' (in the sense of being popular and well known for their power such as SS;Fire, Fire/MM blasters, etc - of course AE in Virtue is filled with /FA Butes, although surprisingly they aren't 99% SS like in Freedom). One thing I noticed also... While in Freedom you find more of the elitist players, you rarely encounter really obnoxious players (I'm a very tolerant person so ymmv) - in Virtue the community and channels are more chattery and people seem more wiling to help with my noob praetoria, tips and trial questions, but on the (rare, like 3 occasions) I encountered an a-hole there it was really distressing - from a Tanker running radios and kicking me (blaster) and a dom because we wouldn't wait for him to 'get all the aggro'. Hell nobody was dying and even if we were, it wasn't a MoSTF, to some guy mocking me because I commented that powersets get buffed when they get ported to heroes - I was called a whiner and worse stuff, of course i ignored them, it was only two players on the channel, the others asked me why I said that and even although some disagreed it was a nice argument. I like both servers in different ways, of course being the most populated you'll find some rude people along the way, guess it's the internets 'wall of defense' you get - I treat people in the net like I treat them live, but I'm digressing, I love both servers but I think I've ben enjoying Virtue more.
In all my blabbering I forgot to say the reason I talked about Virtue - it's because since they seem to love their toons' themes more, I see Stalkers, PBs and other 'sub optimal AT/powersets' while Stalkers in Freedom are now almost non-existant after level 20. In trials I have yet to see one, while I saw som in Virtue, at least one in each full BAF.
@Jibikao, seriously man, the reason you might find the SS/FA Brute you saw not so frail is the crazy stupid amount of damage and the quick recharging heal. My SS/FA got killed a lot before his level shift but now with t3 on everything (and with only 30% global rech plus spiritual) I destroy things very fast on trials, on the ITF I didn't even think before jumping in a full mob before the tank. In the Cim wall, I can be at 0 Fury, a Rage+FE+Burn+FS combo is enough to kill everyone (lvl 52 mobs, I think it's the max I found there), even before my level shift, I don't even need to use Fireball, I just throw a fireblast because the surgeon always runs after I start attacking. Also, with Spiritual Heling flames is up so often... I'm not even in a rush to get to make his permahasten build, I don't enjoy farming as much as a TF or some trials (or even normal teaming) and in the rare occasion I farm with him (although I built him to be a farmer but had so much fun with the damage I incarnated him till all the t3s) my AoEs are always ready because I also have to manage inspirations (purples and reds, I made binds to make them, after agelss no blues needed anymore).
Back to Stalkers, I finally rolled another one and got her to 8 - after all I had to play KM sometime, make a KM/EA and really enjoying the set. Haven't been playing that much tho because I got Rift for 9.99 on a sale (collector edition which is 25 bucks, comes with a mount, good deal) and the skill leveling system is awesome, you can have a Rogue with 4 builds - one that can tank, another ranged only, another with buffs and dps and healing, it's like changing your Rad/Sonic defender to a FF/Psy alternate build, very nice system - although the game is not much more than a faster paced World of you-know, no biggie if I give up on it since I just spent 10 dollars besides the sub. And of course with my new computer I had to see a MMO with OMG graphics (it's a 2011 game after all).
But I know I'm not giving up on CoX, it's way too much fun. I tried the other hero game that went free, some other MMOs and although I love the way you build your character in Rift, no MMO is this fast paced, in all the others besides CoX I knew I would die in 5-10 seconds if I didn't do this or that (or ran if I could), while in Cox you can confidently go face a mob and get killed in 1 second because you forgot something or took too late to activate a power.
Sorry, insomia makes me dabble and derail my own threadbut I guess that besides my problem with the HP cap and wanting Stalkers to get buffed somehow I don't have much to say about them anymore - it's weird how I like them so much but most end up stuck in 25-30 even being my favorite melee AT. And as people said, theyre very rare in trials. On Freedom I almost stop seeing them after Cap Au Diablo, in Mercy and PO you still see quite a few but we all have leveled toons till 10 or so and decided we didn't like them, I think that's what happens to Stalkers (I must've gotten 5 PBs to 10-15 lol).

@Miuramir, awesome review, thanks!
I saw some of the Naga Epic reviews and it seems they improved on the side panel (and you can switch between three) and the side buttons. Since they're on ebay for about USD 120 with free shipping, I made a filter to get offers from there from top sellers to my country. Worst thing that can happen is customs intercepting it and I end up paying 200 USD which is the price of the older Naga here. And I kinda fell in love with the new the little details the Epic has.
Since my mouse is kinda new and very good for normal stuff (and for gaming too although not specialized - see Microsoft Natural wireless 6000, not exactly cheap either but MS is not a practically unknown brand here so although it's only USD 10 cheaper than the Naga, it was half the price here in my country, it's an awesome mouse btw). Annnd since for browsing and work stuff on Mac OS X I like the Apple mouse and just upgraded to Lion which has a lot more support for gestures I can live with the Apple and the MS one (for windows and gaming since the Apple mouse only supports scrolling in W7 while it does all kinds of cool stuff on the new Apple OS) I can wait a bit, although these niche products are unlikely to get much lower on price. But your review was great! When I get the Epic it'll probably be my main Windows/gaming mouse since it has better buttons for back/forward for browser stuffs and I don't like wired mice that much.
With the filter and receiving daily mails from ebay I can see if I can get an Epic for a good price, found it as low as 122 USD but the product is in the USA, when I import things from Asia or other countries the chances of customs intercepting and taxing it for 50-100% is way lower, I bought a DS Lite from a Korean site when it was released for 179 USD when it was 150 for you guys and 350 here -
Quote:The main negative aspect of the reviews are the position of mb4 and mb5, maybe that's why they changed it on the new Naga Epic model (which can be used as wireless but costs so much here I won't even bother).I'm not sure what that's about, the bottom row has been pretty good to me. I put my buffs there on my thermal mastermind before they were made AoE. Button 12 toggles the the insp tray, I don't like staring at it but there's those times when you really need to have it open and quick and that serves me pretty well.
MB4 and MB5 are kind of weird up there in the corner, of MB1. It's definitely odd, but I got used to it after a while. I don't consider it better than where those buttons normally are, but I don't consider it worse after getting used to it either.
Maybe I'm just weird.
Kailure are you a girl, or have small hands? Another complaint I saw was that it's not suitable for big hands but not a prob for me, I'm male but my hands are small, even the most criticized mouse I've ever seen because of the size, Apple's Mighty Mouse (which came with my computer) I like it a lot and use without problems despite its shape being far from ergonomic no matter your hand size.
Quote:I was mouse shopping last year and picked up a Naga. I, personally, did not like it. It felt too small and the keys on the side were just too tiny. Of course, this would vary depending on your hand size (I'm 6'2" with long fingers). Also, the Naga integration on CoH was nothing groundbreaking.
The mouse I was replacing was a trusty Logitech MX518 so I decided to check out Logitech's offering and ended up with the G700 - http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming...s/devices/7244
It has a larger build like most Logitech gaming mice), 4 side buttons, 3 buttons on the left side of the left mouse button (seems odd at first but you get used to these easily), tilt scroll wheel, and all of these buttons are fully mappable. Also, it can be used as wired or wireless which is very handy. I very much enjoy this mouse and would recommend it to anyone who is considering an MMO gaming mouse.
But you guys are making the Naga look very tempting for meI don't know if I'll keep playing Rift (got the collector edition for just 9.99 instead of 30 - so paying 24.99 for it (the 9.99 plus the 15 sub) or even 3 months isn't a big deal, and the collector is nice because it has a mount included, you know how those medieval RPGs have slow walking toons).
And since I'm almost sure I'll buy SWTOR (but I'll hold until I get sick of Rift, 3 mmos is too much for me lol) and I also enjoy games like Dragon Age, a multi button mouse seems ideal for me. I'll watch the youtube video again, there's one the guy shows the mouse very well...
Found it again - the guy in the video complains about the side buttons like Kailure mentioned and also about having difficulty reaching the 10-11-12 row of numbers. But the mouse looks great, I certainly have smaller hands than him, and the Molten edition is just lovely.
Oh well guess I'll end up buying this, I don't think the Epic will have a price drop soon and the logitech besides being windows-only (I use the Cox W7 client most of the time but when I'm not worried about planning my build, testing powersets I don't bother to reboot and play on Mac OS although Rift is Windows only and SW will probably be too).
And I appreciate your feedback very very much, any other opinions/critics would be most welcome, thanks a ton.
EDIT: Found another review, it's for the Epic but the reviewer (as a bonus she's a hot chick) says that both in RTS and MMOs the mouse is much faster than using her keybinds, which is the main reason this mouse interests me - my mind/emp for example has like ten keys bound for her buffs, heals, toggles like indom will, etc, my Warshade is almost as busy and it kinda irritates me binding my keyboard for so much stuff. Ideally I want just to bind the keyboard for my travel power (or ninja run if I don't have one) and I use 'G' for targetting nearest enemy because it's close to F for follow, good for melee toons. But I get annoyed even on my SS/FA Broot having to go to the keyboard everytime to activate rage, fiery embrace, healing flames, you get the idea -
Quote:Yeah since now Stalkers will get both I see no reason to play a /Ice stalker with the /EA changes, after all EA gets a better heal than Hoarfrost (with stalker stupid borked hp cap Hoarfrost is just a heal) and more def from the +end power which drains more than ice's (15 end for ice, 25 for ea from each mob). And there's the recharge bonus too.I worried that by making EA more like Ice Armor, they've basically said that they'll never proliferate it to us.
I wonder how C. Embrace will work in Stalkers. Will it keep aggro? It'll be a first for them. -
Well you're not lacking in AoE or have endurance problems being elm/ela so I think most Hero Epics are useless. Maybe Fire because fire blast would be good for your attack chain, elm lacks ST damage, you get a hold too and Fireball if you really need another AoE (although it's a great ranged TAoE).
From the villain pool, the Soul one seems the most useful - an 'oh s***' button in shadow meld, dark blast, a hold.
Now if you just wanna have fun, Leviathan for Spirit Shark and Water Spout lol, for throwing sharks and causing mayhem with WS (Tornado-like power, some teams will hate you). Maybe Hibernate could be useful to you.
I'd go with Fire because Dark Blast is weaker (although the numbers in Mid's seem screwed up, it's not possible that Fire Blast does 128 damage, DB does 125 and Mu Bolts only fdoes 53 having the same recharge, also Dark Blast from Soul does way more damage than dark Blast from dark mastery according to Mids so who knows).
If you don't have enough slots for Fireball, Soul may be a better choice since Shadow Meld is good with 4 slots (defense and recharge frankenslotting) and you can 4-slot the hold if you want to grab it (coolest looking hold in the game). -
Quote:From the little I could see in the old thread, the 'native' support is just for using keys 1-9 for powers in a 'special tray' for the Razer and using 11-12 to go forward and back through the trays, so you're probably better without it and setting it up manually. Also, I have no idea what's up with coh's 'support' for the razer mouse. I just turned it off then manually bound my powers to the numpad keys.
I saw some youtube reviews, they were mostly positive except saying that the lower row of keys is hard to reach (not hard, but you have to move your hand off the usual way you place it on the mouse) and the two side buttons are not friendly like in normal microsoft mouses, like in mine where the side buttons are easily reachable with my thumb (I use them for back/forward in my browsers and other stuff in games). The 'Epic' version has these buttons above and below the scrollwhell but it's 150 bucks there, meaning it's over 300 usd here, which is kinda ridiculous. -
Quote:Well the truth is, I like Stalkers more than the others in theory, but in practice I have three 50 brutes, 1 50 scrapper and several at 40s (since as I said I took an almost 2yr break and I've been playing lowbies in Praetoria) but.. I have rolled a LOT more Stalkers, it's just that they seem to get stuck in the 25-30 range. I only have one at 50. I really love their concept and I'm always excited to level them up to.. Well right when you and I both said they get less and less effective. Hell the only guide I ever made was for EM/Nin (the 50 one I have and played a lot even before the buffs we got in i12), but that was before the EM nerf.I am just trying to find something that Stalker is better than Scrapper..... stop pouring down cold water! :P
I am not disagreeing that a well built Scrapper can solo better than Stalker. After all, what's the best time Stalker can take down a pylon?
I also don't play Scrapper/Brute/Tanker much, so my love for Stalker is pretty subjective and narrow-minded. Others, like you, who play other melee ATs can certainly share your opinions why Stalker needs more dev's attention. I'll take any buff I can get!
I know I am the only person who plays Stalker in our nightly group. We have a running joke. Whenever we get a team wipe, JUST BLAME STALKER!
And the only toon I bothered to respec for inherent fitness is my SM/Elec Brute because I enjoy her so much. The other 50 Brute I shelved (elec/Stone, ELM is too low on ST imo, I might try to salvage him sometime), and after coming back I self-pled a SS/FA in 3 days, maybe took me 8 hours total to get to 50. He was eant to be a pure farmer since I'm poor now, but... I know, SS/FA is kind of an outlier but the it does so much freaking damage, both ST and AoE (in +4/x8 farms with bosses I don't even use ST attacks except in the end when there are two bosses with low health - yeah Fury+Rage+damage Aura+ AoEs are enough to kill +4 bosses), well he does so much damage I actually got to find the toon very fun to play so instead of farming I'm doing trials and TFs with him - he got all the T3s already. I don't think I ever played a toon that did so much damage, it's ridiculous, and I'm not only talking about ambush farms where you're always at the aggro cap and full fury.
Anyway, despite me thinking that Stalkers shouldn't 'outdamage everyone all the time' and disagreeing with you in one or another point, despite everyone here having an opinion about the AT, Stalkers need help. Since GR is new to me, I'm playing lowbies all the time, and it's extremely rare to see a Stalker in Praetoria, while I see many doms for example, a class that was also very rare before the change (except those pl'ed fire/psi farmers in Grandville or the PvP mind/fires). I think I saw more Epic Hero ATs than Stalkers on the trials I've been on, even Peacebringers who are notable underperformers, on Freedom. On Virtue there seems to be more Stalkers, I've been playing there more than Freedom unlike before, but Virtue players are usually more tied to concepts than in Freedom (for example, they usually really go deep in customizing their bios and toon costumes, not necessarily talking about RPers, but you wanna see well made toons in the aesthetic department, go there, you'll see some weird powerset combos sometimes but real pretty toons, they really give a lot of thought about names, bios and costumes, that's why I think I see more Stalkers there, they are less min maxers than us Freedomites - IIRC you play on Freedom).
And even in Virtue I saw way more Villain Epic ATs in trials than Stalkers. I know it's only my impression from 1 month coming back to the game but seeing so few Stalkers in Praetoria and in high level content, even less than the Epic ATs, screams that we need some buffage somehow.
Right after the Stalker buff in i12, one of those number crunchers that live in the scrapper forums (Umbral I think) did some complex maths and the conclusion was that even when Stalkers were with all the team members glued to them (maximum crit chance) they ended up more or less equal than a scrapper if the scrapper was only using ST attacks - with the scrapper using his extra AoEs, damage auras etc they outperformed Stalkers in teams no matter if the Stalker crit chance was 31%.
I don't want to turn Stalkers into scrappers with Hide like Leo_G also doesn't, but... We need a help in some way. I'm always thinking how much I like my Elec/Regen and my DM/EA Stalkers but everytime I run the game I end up choosing one of my high level brutes or my lowbie doms/brutes while those Stalkers have been stuck at 25-30 for ages.
(I wasn't much of a melee player before, usully played trollers for crowd control and support and the occasional Stalker, but I figured I should try something different and I'm enjoying Brutes and Doms so much after the changes). Even my DP/Fire Blaster (an AT I never got past 25) who faceplants all the time because of the low DP damage and 'cause I'm soloing her to read the Praetorian story arcs gets some playtime even when I log in thinking about respeccing my old stalkers or rolling a new one. I logged in a lot of times tempted to roll a KM toon since I haven't played the set but... either I play one of my existing toons or I roll something different, I don't think I'll roll another Stalker soon because I have too many toons in the 12-20 range now (three doms, two brutes and the blaster).
Test_Rat is seen in these forums as a 'debbie downer' because he always says things like 'ST toons are crap, AS is crap, etc' but he actually got to play a lot of Stalkers and I teamed with him before I left sometimes, he's a real nice person in game, gave me a lot of advice on some ATs I was learning at the time like traps and dark corrs (I only have one defender because I find controllers outclasses them in every way, that's my opinion, I don't think Defenders are actually bad) - I think that's a case of being so disappointed with the Stalker AT he got bitter with it, he doesn't act like that in other AT forums. -
Hi guys, before you ask, I did a search and necro'ed a 2010 thread about a user who posted a review about this mouse but he said he'd follow up with commentaries since it was new to him but since this is prohibited here (although I didn't know since the thread was like 9 months old), I was told to make a new thread about it by the the mods.
I'm thinking about buying one but here in Brazil they are about 200 USD (not the new Epic wireless one, the original which now has a lovely molten edition too).
Since I started playing Rift too, where macros are basically obligatory, I might be able to get some use of this, I have small hands, even the iMac's magic mouse is good for me, since the reviews said that the mouse might not be good for people with big hands.
So I'm wondering, any of you have used the mouse for long (>1 year) and felt it made your experience in CoX or any other MMo better??
Does it last like my microsoft mouses (I'm on my third one, the previous two lasted 5 years each, the first one was actually the first optical mouse) and does it considerably improve gameplay on MMOs? I use more binds than macros so it'd be nice to have a button for each bind as well as accessing the 3/4 trays I keep open (depending on the toon) without pressing alt or control.
Oh BTW take a look at the upcoming edition of the mouse and keyboard from Razer for that new MMO we're all expecting...
http://www.razerzone.com/swtor/keyboard
http://www.razerzone.com/swtor
Thanks for any feedback! I figured I'd better ask here before clicking buy since I have a perfectly functional (and newish) Natural Wireless Mouse 3000 (from MS, it's really ergonomic) and an Apple Mighty Mouse that came with the computer but since I run CoX in Windows 7 and since the Apple mouse doesn't do gestures on Windows it's not that good, for CoX it's not bad when playing on Mac OS X tho. -
Yup. I did some PVP'ing with her before i13 but now defence is worthless and I don't feel like adding 41 pts of kb protection to her so yeah, PvE only now, that's why I didn't put stealth in this build or a perception and Kismet IO.
-
Hey sorry for the necropost, but how's the mouse working for you?
I'm thinking about buying one but here in Brazil they are about 200 USD (not the new Epic one, the one you have and the molten one). Since I started playing Rift too I might be able to get some use of this, I have small hands, even the iMac's magic mouse is good for me. -
Ok since I've been playing enough of Praetoria since I came back, time to respec some toons for inherent fitness, only did this on a broot till now.
Now... I haven't played my EM/Nin for over 2 years, and I want to respec her. In fact haven't played /Nin for a long time.
So I'd like feedback on this possible respec build (right now she has Stealth and some shenanigans for PvP). I have most of these IOs on her, including the purple set. Her HP is capped with accos in this planned build, but I'm sure it can be improved, when I lefet I could build a capped def, hp and close to permahasten /nin without purples, nowI had a hard time capping AoE for example (ok it's like .2% below the cap but whatever). And I'm getting Fire Mastery because Fireball is bugged and they never fix Stalker bugs anyway so... 100% crit FTW
Please, any feedback on what I can improve here? I'm rusty at making /Nin, the fact that EM is all ST doesn't help either especially in the AoE def part.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Quote:I love Stalkers, I'm not like Johnny Butane who is proposing changes to Tankers all the time but he does sound likes he hates the AT. I truly love Stalkers. But honestly, my SM/Ele Brute and my FM/SD scrapper can solo anything at +3, +4, I REALLY don't see how a Stalker would solo better even at a low mob setting and my scrappers/brutes not using AoEs. Hell my ST focused dark/dark scrapper (not the sturdiest of builds, no defenses, etc) could solo much faster than my EM/Nin Stalker in Invincible (that's what's +3 was called back them right?).I also want to say that before they give that many options for game setting, Stalkers could probably solo better at +3 because the mob size is usually just 1-3 enemies.
I didn't mean this thread to be another 'compare ATs' but I really, really disagree Stalkers solo better than Scrappers unless you stealth and go to the glowie or stuff like that any toon with SS+Stealth IO can do.
That's not to say Stalkers aren't good soloers, I faceplant a lot more on my blasters (my fault for loving the /fire secondary, /ice is almost a controller and /mm has the crazy regen power). But since Stalker soloing, although I disagree with your statement, is fine (not excellent since Scrappers are still the kings of melee AV soloing, which already makes your argument that they solo better invalid), what I'm looking for is making them more useful for teams (ok desirable too, although I never had problems joining trials and stuff with my Stalkies) and fixing the damn broken HP cap (yeah I know I sound like a broken record, but with the exception of trollers and blasters not getting full advantage of Hoarfrost and Earth's Embrace, we are the ONLY AT that do not benefit fully from +HP powers, especially sincein the troller/blaster case we're talking about 2 specific powers in epic pools, not powers that every WP/regen/ice armor stalker will get like HPT, Dull Pain, etc). -
Hmm another approach (that is, if I can use ISC while Hovering) is to cap ranged defense, since this is almost permahasten I think Link Minds is perma too (not sure), but I can cap ranged with Power Boost+Link Minds with this, if you turn PB and LM on the build it will show capped e;n but that's because PB boosts Weave for 15 secs:

You know I think I like the build the way it is, except I'd like to reach 45% s/l def but I guess... not that important.
After playing her a while, I realized Ice Sword was a no-no. This build will be ranged mostly, same reason Incinerate will be gone next time I log my Earth/Fire, I just can't bother to go near a mob when I'm doing so well from range, so I'm keeping Frost Breath, never even considered CE.
ISC is worth running in for the lovely AoE, I love the power, so I'm keeping it. Icy Slash is the doubt, I'll probably try it out but it may be the same case as Incinerate, which is a great power that gives /fire an early st chain but I just don't bother to run to a mob to use it. And since Slash comes so late... And the rumor that you will be able to pick Aid Self wothout the prereq, it would make for a good flying build since I get an extra power pick, it's been ages I don't have a flying toon, kinda miss that.
Now I have a question that just came up: can I use ISC while Hovering? If so, I won't bother with Icy Slash, it won't make so much difference when exemplaring since BIB comes 3 levels later. I might even pick Spirit Tree (I know, you have to be on the ground, but a bind for Hover solves that since it's not a short recharge power like ISC). I always hated Spirit Tree and Triage Beacon (I had a 35 plant/thorns and I have a 50 fire/traps) but I saw good use of them in trials and Av fights when stacked.
I'm not skipping Aid Self either way because I mostly team and in normal content the little regen from triage and spirit tree usually gets wasted even in big ITF mobs because everyone moves so quickly. So Spirit might be a good lvl 35 pick, with doct wounds I'd keep the recharge from my Icy Slash slotting. But if I have to use ISC on the ground... I might leave the Hovering to the Earth/Fire I guess (she's a lowbie too, and I never played Earth Conrol, do powers require you to be in the ground? I seem to recall some do).
And yeah since I picked SS I'll surely add a Stealth IO- I add it to almost all my toons but always forget to put it in the planners.

Hi guys,
So I got this ELM/SA Broot at 50 since before I left, he's been shelved for like 2.5 years.
I want to respec him and get him to be mobile without Teleport.
With this build he runs at 18.8 mph with only Rooted on and 20.6 mph with only Granite on, looks good enough for me since a Blaster/whatever with swift 1-slotted runs at 21ish without Sprint.
But I couldn't achieve my goals with the build which were softcap s/l/e/n (I think I had done it but then I found out Rooted turns CJ off) so that I can use Granite only when really needed (like, tanking AVs, Oh crap button and when the team REALLY wants me to tank a +3/+4 Tf or whatever)
Also, my concerns: I'd like more Psi defense (lack of slots) and the build is an endurance nightmare (ok solvable with Ageless since I'm going Spiritual with him). Also, low global acc bonuses and I can't find a place for a Kismet.
I know in the past I did a build that softcapped s/l/e/n with better recharge even, but I cannot find it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I agree, I bought GR 3 weeks ago and since I'm in Brazil there were no sales price for me anywhere. :/
Also this isn't F2P like LOTRO (which AFAIK, I may be wrong but I saw many people state that if you have a lot of time to grind you can fully enjoy the game without paying a dime), more like a 'Freemium' model. Not as restrictive as CO, but not totally F2P if you want even decent stuff. Tho I guess you can play the entire game I played in i9 (if the IO system is free, i don't recall, but on my first toon I played with SOs till lvl 50) -
Any help please? I'm not very sure even on the power picks in /ice, so many attacks....
Thanks. -
Quote:Well iirc they all had high recharge, capped ranged def and used hover blasting. Nothing else that stands out comes to mind, don't remember the epic but I think they all used Power for PBU and Conserve Power.I'm also to see a few examples of the super-duper Rad/Sonic - searches yield few results =(
Oh most of them used screech for the longer lasting -res than the other blasts but aside from that there's nothing more I can think of.
