Quote:No, you failed at reading comprehension, I kinda said the problem is the game client, that was developed by Transgaming or whatever. There are good actually game clients for Mac OS X (I'm not saying 'for Macs' since Macs can run Windows and do the same things as a PC), WoW is a good example, although I only played it for 1 month, I have friends who still play and say the mac client is good (actually Starcraft 2, even Diablo II back in the day - Blizzard always made good mac clients). So you're saying the problem isn't with the game it's with something else the OP has installed on his Mac that interacts with the game. Something that was developed by Apple, the makers of Mac's.
I must say tho, that I had not run the game for awhile, so I decided to test it (on Mac OS X, not Windows). The launcher self-updated, it also updated Cider, then the game itself, and I ran with an 8-man team full of masterminds and crabs and whatever makes the screen busy and no problems here, for about 1 hour.
And I didn't even care to close the programs I was running on Mac OS like Mail, Twitter, 2 browsers, iTunes, etc, so I don't know what the OP is talking about, all working fine here. -
Macs use the same damn processors and etc. as a PC. The difference is that they can run Mac OS X (Pcs too but that requires doing some stuff that the average user may not want).
Pal, it's not that 'macs aren't good for CoH' - you're being ignorant here. It's the client that's a bloody mess.
I can run CoH and Rift (a 2011 game) on 2560x1440 resolution here on my Mac, all gfx settings turned to the max (ATI 6970M here). So yeah mac can run things other than Farmville. But that's on Windows, because, read well, the Mac OS X client is bad. I can run with max settings too but it will be less smooth and the client will lock up sometimes, which doesn't happen on Windows 7 - on the same Mac.
Ok that isn't exclusive to CoH, some other games are ported to Mac OS X via emulation tech and they don't always deliver, like CoH doesn't, but it's just sad the client is so bad. I prefer playing on W7 because of Mid's and etc but lots of people don't install Windows on their macs. -

Slotting: damage and rech - they have high acc and you'll likely use Aim or eat a yellow before - Obliteration is perfect for a PbAoE nuke and you can use only 5 slots unless you really want to max out your recharge, but adding a 6th slot for a rech IO won't do much, although the Oblit proc is nice (but better in a fast recharging power if you don't have the slots or the cash).
They can be emergency powers but they're motley 'fun' due to the stupid long recharge.
But depending on your secondary, you can wipe entire spawns with it, although PleaseRecycle is not wrong when saying it's not that good for a corr because for clearing up spawns you'll have to set up debuffs first so it may not be that helpful as an emergency power, although it has saved my Defender (only one I have) a few times because he's /psy and his nuke has a Stun (and also because since his primary is rad I can use EM Pulse first so it's kinda safe to use the nuke). But even if I had a blaster, I'd only keep a nuke for fun purposes, I don't really need it on my defender, I just like it. -
Quote:How are you supposed to be stealthy with Electric and Ice Armor? Stalkers get that. It's statements like this that make me dislike powerset proliferation. Every time a new melee set comes out, people like to pretend that it is perfectly logical to completely disregard the actual concept of the ATs and give them to all four melee ATs. Stalkers are supposed to stealthy. How are you supposed to be stealthy while lugging around a MASSIVE weapon like a Railroad Crossing? I don't even WANT to know what orifice you think you're gonna hide it in!

Quote:The game changed, I remember I always found a good use for my Stalkers even before the i12 buff. And I also remember that the first time I felt completely useless on my IO'ed EM/Nin was on an ITF because of the AoE heavy stuff, there were like 2 fire blasters on the team and a SS/Will Brute. Since the SS/Will was always with AB (meaning crazy regen and chaining footstomp and KO Blow) on, it looked like he was soloing the damn thing. And with so many targets, it was not much of a difference if I went for those lousy surgeons since everyone was AoE'ing things to death. If Single Target Burst damage is Stalker's special trait, then I can honestly say it's not good enough.
If Stalker is supposed to be the King of stealth, then I can honestly say Stalker is not good enough without unsuppressed Stealth. Stalker should have unsuppressed stealth in pve and not Brute!
There are still rooms for improvement that won't break the game's balance. Hell, what is the base-line for this game's balance anyway? I am already seeing people soloing TFs that are meant for a group!
After that the game shifted to AoE content - just look at the ghoul missions in Praetoria, even the lowbie ones. I set my toons to solo at 0/x2 at least since level 1, but I can't do that on Praetoria on Ghoul and Clockwork missions because there are so many of them. Same for new TFs, Trials, etc. So yes we need a new role for Stalkers.
I've been away from the game due to work and have been playing Rift a bit - cool game, some say it's WoW with 2011 gfx but I can't compare because I haven't played WoW for more than 1 week. The rogue class there has a lot of debuffs, some 'soul trees' (powersets) have AS, others have ranged attacks or pets (you can have 3 powersets there so you can get all that, of course you have limited points to distribute among them), it's a very nice class. It also has the same combo system as the Street Justice powerset, all rogues get that, combo points and finishers (which afaik WoW introduced it).
But... Well, giving Stalkers a 'new role' would require a major tweak on the AT. -
Quote:I never knew that. Holy cow.
Shows you how much I ever looked at Energy Melee since they destroyed it.
Actually it shows you never looked at EM for Stalkers at all
I leveled my EM/Nin to 50 before the i12 and EM changes and I remember I posted a 'woohoo got to 26 now I'm killing stuff fast' because that's when you get ET... And well it was such a fast and great attack. I saw two or three other people post about how wonderful their EM/ Stalkers got at level 26, even tho at the time we had the lousy damage modifier, less hp, well, you know, before the buffs.
And I remember complaining about the EM nerf on a team with you (yes, you, on some SF a long time ago before my almost 2-yr break - not that I've been finding time to play in the last 2 months) and you said 'it had to be done because it was too powerful'. I'm not criticizing you, most people said the same btw, all I know is that at the time the change made me very sad with my fav villain and I barely played her after (I did play her quite a bit but after some time with the ET and TF changes I just gave up on her - she's still there with all her IOs, purps and with Stealth, Stealth IO + a single KB IO, at the time it was possible to have a single build for PVP and PVE at least on Stalkers)
Anyway, maybe EM was an outlier set at least on ST damage with ET activating in like 1 second and TF's mag 4 stun, but I guess after the changes to the arguably 'broken' set (there was no ELM so everyone was playing EM and to a lesser extent DM, I remember you had a claws/nin but it was rare to find anything other than EM, even in Freedom), it just exposed the sad state Stalkers are, especially after ITF and the content that came after which benefited AoE-centric toons so much more.
I don't think I have ever seen one psy/ blaster since I returned... Which means I have never seen one because I never went to pvp after i13 (where I hear psy blasters are useful) and I was absent when the set was released. -
Quote:Well said, random is really 'random'. I PL'ed a Warshade to 22 (to SO level, a reroll of a 30 WS I deleted long ago, I didn't want to farm him to 50) in another lowbie map (called db/claws frontload or something, well if you look for frontload you'll find it - btw it was WAY faster than leveling a fire/fire tanker to 22, this map has mobs with weak ranged attacks and at level 6 perhaps only a brute can do more AoE damage than a Nova form, lvls 2-6 were slower but I was able to do it with orbiting death and sands of muAye. I prefer to just snag rare salvage. I can parlay the "small change" that provides into billions on my own without worrying about "Random means crap" vs "Random means meh" vs "Random rules!"
) and I went for the rolls.
I stopped my WS at 22 and in the end he had 250 million from the rolls. BUT on the next day, I took a SS/FA Brute to 50 (lowbie farms till foot stomp and then I got the big ones), also went for the rolls and at 50 he had 150 mil only, always rolling 15-19 or 35-39 bronze, the WS rolled 15-19 bronze.
I'll try my claws/dark at this when she gets out of damn Praetoria on TopDoc's map, but besides the occasional roll to see if I get a KB IO or something I'll go for salvage.
Very nice post btw TopDoc! -
Quote:Ignore Gemini's posts, all I see is he posting wrong stuff about EA and still calling it garbage on Stalkers with the changes. That is a good thing. /EA should remain stealthy. The set was designed that way anyway.
I didn't pick /EA Brute as my one and only main Brute because it is "defense-based and has a big hole in Psionic resistance/Defense". I picked it because it has an unsuppressed stealth that Stalker doesn't have. If they put aura taunt in /EA, they might as well re-design the whole thing again. My Brute took taunt power and I use it all the time when I want to.
That shouldn't be a "sad face". It should be a happy face.
EA Brutes for now are going to give you this:
Why? Because if you are, say, a /DA Brute, you can turn off three aggro auras (Death Shroud, O. Gloom, Cloak of Fear - ok of course you probably won't pick all three) and turn on cloak of darkness to stealth.
Now /EA... In the current state in beta it's way more dangerous to go stealthing, because the taunt aura is tied to Entropy Shield, your MEZ protection. So if you wanna stealth you have to turn off your mez, unlike a /DA where you can keep Obsidian Shield on. -
Quote:Nin is a very nice set because it's the only set you can softcap easily with IOs and have a very good self-heal (clone of Recon actually, if there's any difference it's some silly detail I won't check now because I'm sleepy). Blinding Powder is very nice too and doesn't unhide you, I never felt the need for Caltrops but some people love it.Indeed, Dull Pain won't help a stalker as much as a Scrapper, but really, DM/Regen is quite an efficient combo IMO. My main is a DM/Regen Stalker that I feel is very strong, and the to-hit debuff from DM works very well with the AS to-hit debuff to help the toon feel quite survivable, everything considered.
While I haven't played a /nin to lvl 50, I can't second Kioshi's observations, but really, if you don't mind playing the game with a lower difficulty (I usually play at +2/x2 on my DM/Regen, before and after my level-shift) with quite a strong ST chain, I would recommend you try it out
I have yet to try using Shadow Maul in the build, so I can't give you any comments on that in the combo, but I believe it can help the difficulty to x3 or perhaps x4.
Regen is not bad at all, I just hate the hp cap thing because it makes the power much less useful (unlike Crab Spiders who have Dull Pain and even with lower base hp than Stalkers can use it fully since their HP cap is 2409 instead of the lousy 1606 Stalkers get), I like my Elec/Regen.
I'd advise you to try Shadow Maul. I always loved it because my second 50 (way back in i10) was a dark/dark scrapper so I got used to hitting at least 2 targets, and 3, even 4 on tight packed mobs on a big team, if you don't mind doing a little repositioning before using it. Plus, SM is a cone attack with single-target damage/recharge/endurance ratios, so it's good even if you hit only one (only Midnight Grasp - and of course AS - does more damage than SM even considering you're hitting one mob). The only downside is the animation time which may be bad on a /regen because you're very dependent on your click powers so maybe it can get you killed sometimes, although I haven't been killed on my elec/regen using thunder strike which has a longer cast time. -

Quote:Sorry for the late reply. Haven't been playing lately. This doesn't make a lot of sense actually. Seismic Smash does not do more damage than an Assassin Strike. Even at full fury. You aren't coming even close to one-shotting a red LT (unless by "mob" there you meant "minion") without a lot of +dmg from a teammate, in which case the Stalker is also doing that much more damage and easily one-shotting the orange or even red LT.
Not saying the Brute doesn't outpace the Stalker. Probably does. But your comparison here is a little bit exaggerated. Sounds like you're comparing a Brute at full fury with a pocket Kin to a solo Stalker. Fury's good... but it's not that good.
I know the numbers, I love Stalkers actually.
I agree with you I exaggerated if you think numerically, what I really meant and maybe I weren't clear is that if I'm surrounded by 5 red/pink lieuts I kill them with my stone/elec brute (I'll not even talk about my SS/Fire because I consider him an outlier, that thing is a speed killing machine although my SM/ELA tanks better when needed) very fast, that's why I posted it 'feels like I'm ASing them' since each hit takes a large chunk of their health.
BU, 1.5 sec seismic smash, 1 second mallet, one down, go to other lieut, use the two mallets, another down, SSmash is good to go again (I'm elec so I have l. reflexes and she's quite IO'ed, not incarnated tho, but things recharge quickly), use one of the mallets again, sometimes even boxing (I don't have stone fists), another one dead. All this before a Stalker can use two AS'es even if I manage to placate and not get hit before the 3-second AS.
Ok on my Stalkers I can take a bigger chunk with BU+AS and then... oh wait I have to hide to deal stupid damage again, I don't need to do that with my Brute - and hey I can fire off Power Surge and go solo that pink mob full of bosses on my 8-man team (I like PS, since I use binds for my toggles and only use PS with insps I actually manage the crash well).
As I posted before, 2-3 quick attacks, quicker than an AS, even if you're already hidden, does the same for me on a hard target.
As Leo_G, I don't want Stalkers turned into Scrappers/Brutes with Hide, I just think something needs to be done so they can get closer to the playstyle I'm fond of on my fire/traps corr - she can solo a hard group if I do things right and think a bit before (I don't plant 8 tripmines and pull like loldevices blasters, I charge in with my traps but with some strategy involved, so she's fast on the killing).
But on the same corr I can go at a white group without any planning and faceplant instantly, so it's a very different style from my Broots and one I enjoy when I'm in the mood of doing more than just button mashing mass murder. The difference between her and my Stalkers is that she's very useful on teams too (besides all the AoE damage that also helps a lot solo but imo Stalker soloing is not problematic). -
Quote:You totally misunderstood me.First, don't play on Freedum. I swear, every now and again I hop on a toon I have exiled over there, and just stare at the broadcast channel, to remind myself of the value of my nice, quiet, adult, home server.
Second, when Freedom hits, I expect the whole AE farm thing to collapse, because the ftp'rs can't get in AE. Or, maybe the Devs will make a ton of money, who knows.
Third, you can make SO much money without doing the PL thing, why prostitute yourself for it? I'll freely admit I farm when the mood strikes, but I mainly do it for tickets or purples, and because I reallllly like the carnage.I've never asked for nor received money for it.
I never said I PL people for money, I was just answering a question from ultrawatt, he said he found strange that people charged others for PLing on his server and that's considered a 'dick move' where he plays.
So I told him to make a toon on Freedom or Virtue to see that this is the norm over there, just to check, I didn't tell him to go play on Freedom. Again, I only told him to do it to check that it's a common practice in these servers, since he found it strange that people are discussing here how much they charge for PLing others.
I also never paid for a PL because when I wanted I had friends who would do it for me (tho I don't like being PL'ed anymore unless it's a reroll of some old toon I deleted like I self-pled a Warshade to 22, I had one at 35 I deleted long ago).
Server opinions are personal, I have been playing more on Virtue but before my break I was mainly a Freedom player and had very few bad experiences there. Broadcast isn't bad on most areas besides PI and Atlas (Cap au Diablo is a bit, but broadcast never bothered me).
Each server has its characteristics. A friend told me to make a toon on Justice and I got shocked at the number of team and SG blind invites I got every time I logged there. This almost never happens to me on Freedom or Virtue, on Justice it was all the time blueside (redside it was okay), bothered me far more than the broadcast on freedom and virtue. And yes I put 'pst for invite' and it didn't make the situation better, on Freedom/Virtue I don't need to write that to avoid blind invites.
Nothing against Justice or any other server, I just find statements like 'never play on server X' ridiculous because they're largely personal preference. If something bothers you, like the Freedom broadcast, or like the blueside blind invites bothered me on Justice, just go play in another place instead of insulting it.
Ok now I'll stop derailing the thread. -
As others said it's a playstyle that can work but it's slow killing, and after elec control was introduced, you can both sap faster AND do good damage with a elec/whatever dom, doesn't even need to be elec/elec, so you get more choices as a Dom besides sapping better.
-
One thing you all should consider is that Shadow Maul is worthy using even as a ST attack. It's actually the second hardest hitting attack in Dark Melee if you hit one target, with 8s rech and 8.53 end cost.
Let's compare Shadow Maul with other AoEs being discussed (using Tanker numbers since they share these powers):
Shadow Maul: 8s rech, 8.53 end, 95.9 dmg
Combustion: 15s rech, 13 end, 57.8 dmg
Actually screw comparing it with other AoEs, if they keep Shadow Maul with the same numbers on rech/end (because Bone Smasher for example is different on melee ATs and Blasters), you can see in City of Data that Shadow Maul is a 2.2638 damage scale attack while some blaster melee STs hit for only a bit more or less:
- Fire Sword, 10s rech, 10 end, 2.36 dmg scale
- Ice Sword, same stats, but 1.96 dmg scale
- Bone Smasher and Havoc Punch have a 2.6 dmg scale on Blasters but they take 14 seconds to recharge and cost 13.5 end
And Shadow Maul can easily hit 2 - yes long animation but it's a cheap attack and it's not wasted even as a ST attack on the melee ATs - actually it's a cone with ST attack stats, so it's more part of the Dark set attack chain than an AoE thrown there like Combustion, with the bonus of being able to hit 2 easily and more if you line up (with practice you can hit 3 regularly, I have several dark melee toons).
I don't think their idea was to include a good AoE power in the Dark secondary, but rather making like /EM and /Elec, the two secondaries that have three solid attacks. They may change the recharge and end cost, since Smite on melee ATs is a 1.36 dmg scale attack that recharges in 6 secs while Charged Brawl/E. Punch on Blasters are 1.96 dmg that recharge in 10, and supposedly Smite is the equivalent to Charged Brawl/Energy Punch, so if they change SM to match rech/end of the 2nd tier attacks you get at level 10 (Havoc/Bone Smasher) just like SM will be available on Blasters, Shadow Maul will end up doing more damage than those even used as a ST attack. The price you pay for that is the long animation time, the bonus you get is being able to hit 2 consistently and 3-4 sometimes (ok hitting 5 is very rare unless you're on an ambush farm or something).
So SM is kind of a different power, since although being a melee cone, it has a rech/end/dmg ratio of a good ST attack. On scrappers, it actually does close to Golden Dragonfly's damage (148.4 vs 164) except you get SM at level 2 and GD at lvl 32. And GD is a 20 degrees cone with 12 end/12s rech, SM is a 45 degrees cone with 8 end/8s on scraps.
So I think SM is a great power for Dark Manipultation, ok I'd prefer Siphon Life but I like SM enough. I think the skippables there will be Death Shroud and Touch of Fear (edit: Dark Pit too, it has REALLY sucky stats, I'd never used the power so I thought it was a mag 3 stun). -
-
If you're set on DM I'd make a DM/Nin - DM/Regen will feel frail, not take advantage of Dull Pain like the scrapper (and consequently because of the low hp cap, you'll regen less with dull pain up, also applicable to IH), and maybe 'too many heals' - with DM/Nin you'll have two and be softcapped with some IOs. Plus it's unique to Stalkers, I always advise people to roll their first Stalkers as /Nin since it's different and unique.

Quote:I agree. When I reduce a red or pink mob to almost zero health with Seismic Smash or KO Blow at level 50, it feels like I AS'ed him. Difference is, I used a 1.5 sec attack (S.Smash) or a 2.23 s (KO Blow). And if I didn't one-shot the guy, I just use another fast attack like Haymaker, Stone Mallet, whatever, sometimes Boxing will do it lol. It's much faster to use two normal attacks than one AS, and at 50 an AS wouldn't one shot any orange+ lt anyway (dunno about yellows, I hardly play with yellow mobs at 50).I think most ATs start out-damaging Stalker at lvl 32+. :P
I no longer think Stalker is the best at eliminating hard targets because stalker is only good at the first 10s when the setup is right.
And if there's another boss/lt right next? I just use the attacks again, or reverse the order, like some mallet + S. Smash if the big hitter isn't recharged. No need to get Hidden again or placate to AS properly again (and placate is risky on a big mob, and next to useless if you're not softcapped). So yeah my Brutes are better than my Stalkers with hard targets at higher levels, and I'm not even talking about EBs or AVs because I think Stalkers shouldn't be the DPS kings, only the burst kings, including the initial AoE burst like KM can do with the 100% crit on the PbAoE.
Quote:The situation most face with stalkers/scrappers is when you min/max. If the scrap can't plan it out? Build them to just overwhelm the challenge. It basically means if there is a challenge in the game, you build the character so it's no longer a challenge. On a Stalker, the fight is still a challenge because you can lose but if you sequence everything, you turn a challenge into a one-sided fight.
I don't want this to change.
Personally, I think Scraps should be the better DPS fighter. If Stalkers were ever to recieve a buff, I'd like their criticals improved. Leave their base damage lower. Make hidden/placate criticals 3x damage vs 2x and make regular criticals 2.5x damage.
Stalkers should seek to sequence their abilities to overcome challenges vs just building to overcome everything.
I like my fire/traps corr because she makes me think and plan. I'm not the kind of guy that plants 8 trip mines and pulls when solo (like those /loldevices fans like to do taking 5 minutes to kill a mob), but I have to face each battle accordingly when solo. I rush into mobs when solo and I am able to kill a +3 spawn with bosses deploying my traps and using my primary, but lots of times after doing that I got cocky and ran into a bunch of minions without any strategy and got toasted. So it's a cool toon to play because it requires thinking and planning basically all the time solo.
The difference is that obviously a fire/traps corr is also a great contribution to any team, including debuffs, buffs and AoE damage. -
Quote:If you read the one complaining mostly about hit points, it was probably my thread. You didn't read it right, I wasn't complaining about the hit points we get, but the hit point CAP that's broken since we are only 400 hp away from the cap and are the only melee AT that cannot take significant advantage of the +maxHP powers. Even the Epic hero/villain ATs can take advantage of their high HP cap (say, Peacebringer with Dull Pain + Dwarf can reach 2000+ hp), Stalkers' Dull Pain, HPT, Hoarfrost (Ice, upcoming) will be stuck at 1606. Base hp on Stalkers is fine imho.So... I've been hearing chatter that a lot of people don't like stalkers or that stalkers aren't strong enough. Riddle me confused. I'll admit that I haven't read too much into the 3+ page long threads about people complaining about them, but the first one I saw was complaining about hit points.
Now I've made two stalker builds so far, and I must say that the survivability of those two toons is astonishing. They have better Defense/Resistances than most brutes, and dish out more than reasonable amounts of damage.
Fact is, I find the Stalkers to be one of the best archetypes in the game.
So let the trolling begin and someone tell me what the problem is here.
I can post those builds if someone says I'm on crack.
Thanks.
But since you said Stalkers have better RESISTANCES than most Brutes I'm not even sure if you know the difference between defense and resistance, or what a HP Cap is, so you don't need to post builds to prove you're not on crack or lack understanding of the game mechanics. -
Quote:Hell yeah.It doesn't get more Brutish than Stone Melee.
Screen shake so nice, I Incarnate leveled it twice. (Sm/Wp, Sm/Elec).
You've got big stone hammers, you have Seismic Smash, you have screen shaking punches, you have a foot stomp that sends everything staggering at level 8, you have Seismic Smash, you have a jump in the air and hit the ground so hard everything falls over tier 9 attack. And you have Seismic Smash.
It. Is. Glorious.
(Also endurance intensive with any kind of recharge. Best paired with a secondary that can help with that.)
Seismic Smash is almost like cheating, feels like an AS that holds a boss (and I play a lot of Stalkers), especially with the lower fury loss over time.
And My frail Stone/Elec could Tank at level 20 in a TF where the enemies were +3 (the leader was +3 and it was before super side kicking) JUST because of Fault.
She's 50 now and still a beast. That said, two things: she was my only toon that ever ran out of end with speed boost (I was about 25, only slotted with acc and endured SOs) and I only like Tremor's damage when I use BU and have Fury (not a problem nowadays). I'm glad I chose /elec because life got easy after Power Sink. -
-
With a base duration of 28 secs at level 50, I didn't feel the need to slot it for fear.
My slotting is 5 posi's blasts+1 rech IO since the Posi set only gives about 26% recharge. -
Quote:40 mil is too much sure, but this is common practice in Virtue and Freedom. And for a long time - I joined in i9, I think my first 50 was in i10 (took me three months to level her since it was harder) and first time I got to Peregrine Island, there was a spam of fire/kins announcing like '1 mil a run on Battle Maiden' and lowbies broadcasting 'lowbie paying 1 mil a run'. IIRC the lowbies broadcast was more frequent than the farmers'.40mil per run jesus, wtf dude? That better be like...lvl 1-26 sized runs.
I personally dont understand the trend up charging people to get PLed...but here on guardian doing that is considered a bit of dick move.
Of course back then 1 mil was a normal pice for that because you could buy a good IO set. After purples the price raised a bit, not much because the recipes were like 30 mil each. Now that a purple set can get to 1 billion prices are much higher.
Roll a toon on Freedom or Virtue, go to AE in Atlas at like 9pm and you'll see. Well you don't even need to enter AE since you'll see the broadcast but if you go inside the AE building you'll see a TON of SS/Fire Brutes and lowbies of all kinds asking to be PLed and saying they'll pay X for each run.
Actually the exception there (which I took advantage of, I don't usually PL my toons) is when it's like 4 am and some bored farmer feels lonely and decides to offer a free run or two to people (or, of course, if you're in a SG/VG with people who farm, the Brazilian coalition I was part of before I left for 2 years never charged people, neither a VG I was also part of that PL'ed my brute to 40 long ago just because I wanted to see what Granite was all about). -
Quote:Yeah you're at the HP cap. You didn't misunderstood, let me quote myself here because I posted this previously in the thread:I was reading just page 1 of this and it spiked my curiosity so I logged onto my Elec/Elec stalker with some IO sets, all 4 villain accolades, and a t4 Alpha(Spiritual Core Paragon) and HE has 1606.35hp. From what I gathered that's the hp cap for stalkers, right? So I really feel bad for regen stalkers since you can basically skip dull pain if you want and hit the hp cap. Still acts as a heal, but with no +max hp bonus it really defeats the purpose of boosting your regen.
I'm on your side after looking more into the information, I feel they could benefit from a higher hp cap, especially sets that rely on regen to survive. If I misunderstood something about the hp cap and am wrong sorry, don't know alot about hp/damage caps and stuff.
Quote:Scrapper with Dull Pain slotted to ED cap for heal - 2132 hp - 2400 with accolades, almost their cap.
Stalker with Dull Pain unslotted - 1685 hp. Oh wait the cap is 1606 like blasters and trollers and corruptors and defenders so sucks to be you regen Stalker(and ice in i21), you'll stop at 1606 regardless of sets +hp bonuses and accolades. Your Dull Pain/Hoarfrost is only a big heal with lousy recharge.
(If the cap was higher, my regen Stalker could go to 1918 - only 200 less than the Scrapper, or 2159 with accolades - with IOs we could reach the Scrapper cap of 2409 since it's not hard to build an IO'ed Stalker without a +hp power that hits the 1606 cap)
Willpower Stalker with HPT - 1561 hp - get one accolade and you're at the cap, isn't that nice? Screw if you have IO +hp bonuses they're good for nothing since HPT is an auto power.
People say overload is the best tier 9 'godmode' (if you like godmodes, I personally do) because it raises your max hp. I don't need to say Stalkers benefit very little from it. Brutes can go from 1499 (base hp without accos) to 2692 HP with Overload. Stalkers go from 1204 to.... 1606 lol.Quote:I guess they can buff other energy powers more. I understand why they can't give full critical to TF but the fact that these two powers don't receive full critical value puts Energy melee at disadvantage when Stalker has full team critical buff and Energy Melee has zero aoe.
I've never tried EM but I've seen how fast ET was.
And doesn't Energy Melee have a regular stun power? Does that do anything special? I know they buffed Cobra Strike to match Crane Kick. Not sure if this is an option?
