Quote:The two procs I really like in Traps are the Achilles -res in Mortar and the Lockdown +2 hold in Poison trap. In my corr build above I put the devastation chance to hold in mortar, I like that one too but not a must have imo.I use to be a big fan of putting in procs in all my builds... but not much lately.
Caltrops - In my years of using caltrops, there are really two things I want from it. More recharge to double up on it, and some slows to keep the bad guys from escaping once in. Other then that, I won't waste the slots on it.
Acid Mortar - Unless you have no other place for that slot, I would delete the Lady's Gray Proc. You took acid mortar for its debuff, better to focus on that and let your beam rifle do your damage.
Poison Trap - I use to love the varies hold procs... but really they're only useful in a handful of powers. This is a power I won't waste the slotting of one unless I had the extra slots to burn.
Seeker Drones - Again, focus on that the drones do best and only slot a proc there for either a set bonus or you got some to burn.
And yeah, damage procs in Poison Trap aren't worth it anymore since it's not a proc-nuke anymore like when it was broken. -
Quote:I wouldn't do DP/Poison. I rerolled my Beam/Poison into Beam/Traps because Poison's debuffs recharge so quickly you redraw all the time.Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. This sorta sounds like TA, but with -regen, but most single target. Is that accurate tot eh leveling up feel?
Either way, I love 2gun,and -dmg is awesome, so I'll certainly give your advice a lot of weight (perhaps a stupid huge amount, as it seems you might be the only person out there to have played /Poison as a corr that frequents the forums..).
I'm still looking for a good primary to go with Poison tho. Sonic looks the best to me (-res) but I find it boring, Dark and Rad look good too but I hate their damage, so maybe I'll go Fire.
And the -dmg from chem ammo is really nothing special, as countless threads have said, you're better off with fire ammo all the time unless you are soloing where normal ammo is good because of the kb. The slow from Cryo Ammo and the -dmg from Chem are too low. Ice Blast for example has much better slow than Cryo, since they put all those effects on the different ammo types, the devs made them too weak. DP has to use fire ammo to get close to a middle of the range set in damage. -
Quote:Nah, he directed it to me for no reason, I never said anything about end management but he's a troll, implying I said Disrupt was awesome and all when all I did was ask about the power.Might have been me who implied it.....though i didnt try to imply anything i outright said i had issues....on most of the stalkers i have.
And then i teamed up with i think 5 differing people over the last few weeks that post in this forum and showed them.....and got told:
hey you attack fast
hmm imagine that....and they even noticed my energy running out fairly fast....which cant be helped....if you kill things fast with a stalker and kill alot.....your energy goes down pretty fast.
Though not sure why they didnt all play Stalkers....i wanted to see some actual play from some would be veteran Stalkers.
But Stalkers are end friendly, you might have yours slotted for low endred. Even if you attack nonstop, a scrapper or a Brute will almost always use more end, since they have taunt/damage auras, more AoEs and draw more aggro. I only had some problems with my EM/Nin when I was on SOs and slotted ET and TF with acc+dmg only because I wanted them to hit like a truck and I didn't have slots for endred when she was leveling, but nothing major, my BR/Traps and ice/time corrs have to eat blues fairly often even with SOs and endreds, as my WM/EA Brute (WM is an endhog btw). Even my Elec/Regen never had end issues and Elec is 'the AoE set' for Stalkers.
And I wasn't the Stalker you mentioned, on Freedom I only have an Elec/Ea blueside that's my namesake (well he's Kyioshi, Kioshi is my WS).

So I'm trying PBs for the third time, liking her so far.
But since I don't know how attached I will be to the toon I'm trying to keep the build cost not very high.
I managed satisfactory def values, I don't care that light form is not capped to all (it' at 82% lethal, 85% to most and 83% to some) but it's not perma, only when Hasten is up, so I need a little bit of recharge here.
Can you guys please help me? Also, I'm a big fan of the leadership pool so if it's possible I'd like to keep it.
And btw, is Quantum Acceleration worth it instead of the Phase power? I have the Rocket Board so I'm not sure it's worth it.
Thanks!

Stone Melee is miles better than the pitiful EM we have now.
And it may be, along with katana, the best primary for /regen - My frail SM/Elec Broot, when she was on SOs, could tank SFs at level 25 - there was no Energize back then, but Fault and the mallets makes her sturdier than most Brutes I have till today.
Also, Stone is kinda the most end hog primary, which regen compliments well. God it was a torture until I got power sink, and for the longest time I had my attacks only slotted for acc and endred. But regen gets QR at level 4, so you'll be fine on end. -
Quote:Look ma I'm softcapped at level 24 to s/l/e/f/c only using 3 sets of Smashing Haymakers and three pieces of Aegis!I was toying with Mids earlier today. EA softcaps S/L/E with Smashing Haymakers(!), Reactive Armors, and the Steadfast proc. I'm still toying with the build, but that with Energize and Power Siphon and Entropic Aura and mmm-mmm, you'll be very strong and pretty indeed. It might almost rival my Claws/Elec once I get him up to the 30s.

Quote:Since I can't bring myself to roll a Defender (almost did it with my ice/time but... Too much scourging fun even with Frost Breath), that's what I've been doing, using 33 as base. I'm finding it easier using Scorpion Shield since I can get a buttload of recharge and 33% to the rest, but that's because I picked too many powers from ice blast (like freeze ray, the nuke, frost breath), a set I never played much. So far I've been getting great mileage of all these but that may change when I IO her, since I found it easier planning builds that weren't ice blast (for example I skip Flares on Fire/, but I don't skip Ice Bolt on Ice/).I use:
45 - (PB+FS) + FS = Soft Cap with FS toggled on, but PB toggled off.
Example:
PB + FS = 31.98
FS = 19.69
45 - 31.98 + 19.69 = 32.71
So, if the build with FS toggled on, and PB toggled off, the defense value in the totals box is 32.71 or greater, then I'm soft-capped.
For My defender builds it's 32.7, for the corruptor versions it's 37.6. It should be fairly safe to assume 33 and 38 for most any decent build as a quick check.
Also, damn the build is bind-heavy - already have shift+click for the slow patch, ctrl+click for Ice Storm (I use one after another), H for the heal, V for the ally buff, and I know I'll have keys bound to Farsight and Chrono Shift. Hell she may outbind my mind emp -
Quote:Me too but... I was looking at the new AT selection screen and thought 'damn if I were a new player I'd find that a bit complicated, what's the difference between Corrs and Defs? I also can't quite figure out Doms from Trollers just reading these descriptions. And so... Stalkers are the most damaging AT? They're the only ones who get 10 along with scrappers on damage'.I skip over the play-style choice and go straight to archetypes.
When I started it was easy, hero/villain and it kinda made sense because I could see each other as counterparts, even though Doms and Trollers are vastly different in practice. -
Thanks, that seems like a great power then, its stats are like Bitter Freeze Ray but without the 10 second animation lol. I'm really liking my DB/MM blaster (I don't usually play Blasters), solid mitigation (yes I like Umbral Torrent) plus two heals (DP and Life Drain), I'll think about a build with the hold now since it does decent damage.
-
Silas go PL and IO a /Poison toon too, mine is 26 and I'm in doubt if I should level him, I'm busy with other alts too, so GO DO EET, I'm gonna work and the guide better be ready when I come back kthxbai
-
I admittedly haven't tested the nuke yet, but for me, the only power that's really annoying is the cone attack. Of course ymmv, I'm not exactly sensitive to most game effects like some people, but if even I find the cone sound more annoying than Peacebringers (who barely bother me), something needs to be done.
-
Oh the defense you get from Stealth is half-suppressed when you're in combat, also Stealth makes your toon slower. I prefer Maneuvers. You can do things like slotting Boxing with 4 kinetic combats (iirc if you skip the tripe it isn't hugely expensive, just put the kd proc there) for extra s/l def.
Something I forgot is that since you're /psi, with that slotting on DP you'll have regen capped a lot of the time (recovery is capped easily even without endmods, I played an ice/psi without stamina to 50). That makes Spirit Tree even less useful unless you like it for a team buff. DP is also great against AVs since it does -regen, and Hoarfrost is a good choice since you'll have more +hp and DP benefits from that.
I don't like the sleeps especially since Creepers will break it, although they can be useful under domination for multiple AVs, not sure how much since all sleeps except for Mind/ and Elec/ do damage and draw aggro, I always skipped them except for mind (my elec/ is a lowbie and my friends rarely play on Justice where he is).
You might have better luck asking about Creepers in the Controller forums. If I had to slot them NAO, I'd put 5 posis and a recharge if needed, or 5 ragnaroks (with the kd proc) if you have money. But some people advocate slotting it with a lot of procs except the FF +rech. Since I don't have an IO'ed Plant, I slotted the one I deleted with acc/dam/rech only.
Btw Sleet can take a achiles -res proc too if you find room. -
I saw your post in the scrapper forums, I managed to get about the same recharge of the builds there using non purples and no pvp set but doing some silly stuff (6-slot boxing with Touch of Death), I didn't gimp the build but it's kinda toggle heavy (maneuvers, weave) and has no resists and no nuke.
But that's because I want too many powers from Ice and I haven't played Ice Blast to high levels (I'm liking having Freeze Ray, it's up so often even with DOs, I also enjoy Frost Breath), so I'll see when I get there, I'm liking the 49% s/l/e build with Scorpion and 90% rech (plus some stuff I like having, like a range IO in Frost Breath).
I think this will be a team toon anyway unlike my BR/Traps, but it looks so busy I may end up ditching Frost Breath and maybe the nuke when I get higherthanks for the feedback, I don't wanna make a Defender lol, Scourge makes me happier than scrapper crits and even Brute Fury (the only melee toon I've been enjoying, well besides lolStakers but I've always had a soft spot for Stalkers - feels good to be basically the only blueside Stalker on Freedumb with my Elec/Ea).

Quote:AS doesn't accept Interrupt IOs.So, Hecatomb full set or 5 Hecatombs and slot the 6th for interrupt redux? I usually go with Kinetic Combat sets for my melee dmg powers but it seems that a set capped at 35 doesn't do the dmg of a full blown 50 set, regardless of being the Hecatomb set itself. And with AS being the burst power of all burst powers, I'm guessing that the higher you can push that "Average Damage: XXX(XXX%)" listing the better...
For typed def sets like EA I like 4 kin combats plus a crushing impact acc/dam (or an acc/dam HO) or acc/dam/rech, AS has higher base acc than other attacks (although you don't really wanna miss). Or 6 touch of death for positional def sets.
I don't worry about slotting for recharge like say, Total Focus, because I don't use it as often, especially in the higher levels, with global IO rech bonuses it will probably be up everytime you need it. -

Fiery Aura
Those are the two that I can think of off the top of my head.
Go to www.Paragonwiki.com.
You can read all of the Scrapper powersets to see if there are any others. -
This one has all the procs I care about and is softcapped to s/l/e.
I don't care about proccing Caltrops. But you might be able to because this is a Corr build so Defenders won't need to use as many sets as I did to achieve defense.

Thanks Silas, I didn't know PB affected CJ, Maneuvers and etc, my high level corrs all have Scorpion Shield so no PB.
Damn Defender numbers are high (I guess that's why people keep telling me to reroll my old 47 fire/traps into traps/fire instead of reworking her build to take all the procs away, inherent stamina and stuff), I might consider rerolling her as a Def, I don't like Defenders but... I realy NEED to make the ultimate slow toon! Glad she's only 12 or something. At least Defs get Blaster Ice Storm and Blizzard unlike Fire Blast. But.. The only Def I'm fairly happy with the damage is my 50 rad/psy because you know, Rad/ pwns, and even so I want to remake him rad/sonic when I'm done with the new shinies.
As long as Chrono is close to perma is okay by me.
EDIT: With Scorpion Shield (and leaving Tactics with 3 slots) I can get to 49-50% on s/l/e (plus 33.9% ranged, 33% neg and 25ish on others) and that's with the KC set in brawl which I can take outbut then the heal and Chrono won't benefit from PB.

Quote:Good idea, the thing is that she's already 47 (checked in game). Why not go Traps/Fire, softcap to all vectors and types, get a resist shield, Possibly get Force of Nature too, and do it for cheaper?
Oh against a single target your will outdamage a corruptor, and always be safer due to the superior -damage/-to hit debuffs/-rech/-movement debuffs that a defender offers.
Also, don't know if you saw but I was told by someone and checked mid's... Defenders get an AT-modified RoF (83 dmg according to mids, against 126 Blaster/Corr, and Corr has scourge), unlike Ice Storm.
That's why I slotted Caltrops 2 slow IOs, I have shift+click bound to caltrops and ctrl+click bound to RoF.
But that may be a good idea since I just rerolled my Beam/Poison into Beam/Traps, I'll see what I can do with the defender version. Poison is nice but the debuffs recharge too fast and I felt it was a bit bothersome to use with Beam. -
While I like AS, I think you should pick a primary that benefits from other things if you skip it, like KM (insta-BU from hidden CS) or ELM. I used the combo L.Rod+Thunderstrike (which has 50% chance to crit since LR doesn't unhide you) more than AS in my ELM/Regen. I rerolled her into ELM/EA (Regen is too squishy with the low hp cap) and in this combo I'll probably use AS once in a while, but ELM is good enough to take advantage of Stalker's Hide without AS, as is KM imo.

It's just like the FF Shields, the ones you cast while PB'ed grant awesome defense for 4 minutes (that's how much the shields last right? I forgot). But I can confirm that because I teamed with some high-level Time toons.
Also IIRC Chrono Shift's recharge bonus lasts for 120 secs, not sure about that but someone told me and can't check the game now, Mid's say 30s but I think it's only the healing and recovery. So if you get the power down to 120s rech it's perma (if I'm right about the recharge lasting longer). Should be perma on this build I'm planning since Hasten is more up than down (she's still a lowbie and yes that's the toon's name - the idea was to make the ultimate slow toon). The s/l/melee defs aren't capped but no biggie for me since ranged is capped and there's the -tohit aura for melee, should be easier on other primaries, because I would skip Time Stop but ice blast has a good hold so I'm picking both:

You're correct, Power Boost makes Farsight's def as long as the power lasts.
So as soon as you perma Farsight you're golden, I made a build that permaed it without hasten and it wasnt even expensive. -
Nice build Linea, you softcapped everything, my build has s/l at about 47% and 44.7% energy (might've changed from what I posted, I changed somethings) and i think 33% ranged which is good enough for me (can't check now, on Mac OS X) but I like lots of recharge for Traps. Also you cheated with the glad IO! (j/k lol, but I'll never get it on any toon, I suppose you can get it in one month doing tips right? I actually don't know how to get IOs with tips, haven't messed with them since I returned, I don't even know where to exchange them for IOs - I'd love if you tell me btw)
Eric I like your build, do you think Triage+the regen you have makes up for the lack of Aid Self? I'm too used to Aid Self on my trapper. Btw, isn't Vengeance unnafected by recharge IOs? I know Mid's says otherwise but I was told it's only affected by global set bonuses. -
Quote:You're right, I'm not used to blasters. The only toon I have that can nuke is a rad/psi defender because I skipped Inferno on my Fire/Traps Corr. That could be said for just about all blasters. 5 aoe's, not including PSW nor a nuke, no problem.
A Fire/Fire/Soul can have Fire Ball, RoF, Breath, FSC, Combustion, Burn, Soul Tentacles and Night Fall. 8 AoEs and 2 more if you count Inferno and Hot Feet. But I'm sticking to my Dark/MM because of DP and Life Drain, not sure I'll get the Soul Cones, I'll already have enough AoE.
Btw does anyone know if Abyssal Gaze does its damage fast? It has a fast cast time according to Mid's and does more damage than Dark Blast, it's close to Mind Probe actually, could be a good hold/damaging attack with 4 basilisk gaze+2 dmg IOs. Its damage is DoT but only x3 instead of x5 like blaster immobs so maybe it's a good attack as well? I was thinking of skipping it.
