Oh I like the /Fire part, in fact after I got FSC I thought 'oh so Blasters still do OMG damage, like I remember' - I was actually thinking I had wrong past impressions, but then I rolled a dark blast/mm last week and she started out very strong even DB not being fire or ice blast. I was planning on a PbAoE blaster - hot feet, FSC, Hail, well ya know, stuff
The Arch/EM I got to 20ish once started out kinda weak too but once I got Blazing Arrow the feeling went away, and I knew there were more good stuff ahead (if I had gotten him past 20ish), I saw RoA several times and it rocks as most of you know.
So my problem is DP. Yeah I do have Swap Ammo, I prefer regular when soloing and fire when teaming, the stuff everyone says. But I'm rolling a corr then... I'm feeling too squishy, again not because she's a blaster, but because I find DP is too lacking in damage for the animations, I hadn't planned to pick the stun/hold shot and ended up getting it. Also besides DP/MM which I could use Drain Psyche before I can't think of any blaster combo that would make me use the nuke safely, while a DP/Rad, DP/Dark corr could (thinking tar patch, fearsome stare, fluffly, all the -tohit, sounds yummy).
I just hope I don't feel the damage is too low on a corr... I like Beam Rifle's damage for example. -
For the record I'm actually liking Luminous detonation now. On SOs finally (altitis, tanker tuesday, beam rifle etc) and since Inner Light boosts my damage so often I'm finding it a great combo to start - Inner+Proton+Luminous, I may be having luck because I'm new to Champion so I can't say ' almost everyone is great there' (hope I can since I want it to be my new blueside home) but the players I teamed with so far were all very nice people and nobody seemed to even bother with the KB. Maybe after IOing I may keep just Proton and Solar Flare when I get it but for an exemplaring second build which I'll keep the s/l and e/ne shields it may be a good addition, I'm willing to turn her into my main toon on Champs. I was surprised when I got Incandescent, I was killing lts and bosses (orange/red) pretty fast with it and the other melee attack even at DO level on a Posi (just checked the numbers, more damage than scrapper's Eagle Claw, and about the same as Stalker's Midnight Grasp, wow). The only bad part was getting stunned, held and immobed at the same time by the Cot lol, I have CJ but it was turned off at the time, so it was kinda funny seeing three mezzes stacked on me.

So since I returned not long ago (4 months but last 2 barely played) GR is still new to me.
So I made a Blaster, a DP/Fire. Not usually a Blaster player, but every time I made one I was 'OMG IM DOING SO MUCH DMG' before level 10.
Problem is, I'm not feeling it with DP, and I'm 22. Empty Clips feels like I'm tickling mobs. I know it's the same damage as Fistful of Arrows but Fistful doesn't have a long animation. Also not a fan of having to get in melee and spin for 1 minute for the nuke.
And since I love the animations, I want to know if DP works better on a corr (I rarely play Defs). What do you guys think? I was considering pairing it with /dark for extra damage, mitigation, heal, well you know how good dark is, and I could use the nuke with much more safety.
Other suggestions are welcome (haven't leveled /Thermal and /Cold too although I think /Cold would be better on a troller, Pain is out of the question because the set is too busy and I played my Mind/Emp for over 9000 hours, /Ta too because I honestly find it very very lacking) if you tell me DP works well on Corrs, because frankly, although I'm not a blaster player, all the ones I've made impressed me from the start with their damage, but this one not even on SOs. I don't expect fire blast performance of course, but I'd like to know if it's better on corrs which is an AT I love. -
I always found MA very pretty, great animations, I actually dislike the alternate ones. But I never saw anything special about the set. The scrapper version feels meh to me and the Stalker one is worse, you get only ST attacks, all lackluster compared to other primaries.
But... I'm loving my MA tanker! I think they did an excellent job on the set for Tankers, better than any other AT imho.
I'm kind of a sucker for damage (I don't need all my toons to be like my SS/Fire but I never liked Tanker damage that much). So I paired it with SD and wow! AAO really helps, besides walking with 25% def to m/r/aoe since level 4 because of Storm Kick. And of course Shield Charge for extra AoE. That may finally be my first 50 tanker (ice/fire at 35 and fire/fire at 20, all unplayed for like 500 days)
I have three (now two) questions...
1) Mid's list Shield Charge with the same damage for Scrappers and Tankers, is it true? about 113, only Brutes are listed differently at 100.1 (I know, Fury, etc, but I don't have a high level shield scrapper to compare and CoData gives me the numbers for the pet). EDIT: found it on Cod, Scrapper does about 150 damage, Tankers around 113, just leaving the info because maybe somebody else has the same doubt since Mid's list both as 113).
2) What would be a good slotting for leveling? I plan to somehow add Aid Self after epics and such but only after IOs, after all I'll be teaming with my Tanker mostly and solo she's good enough without it. Go for about 40% def (I'll get the steadfast of course asap) and rely on Storm kick (so that I get 50% for extra cushioning). I'm wondering if slotting both HPT and Deflection for Res (and of course hp and def too) is a good idea, with Tough the toon could have great resist numbers for a def based powerset, 47.5% to s/l and 23.8% to the rest except psi.
3) MA is kinda difficult to skip powers since you have to get the t1. So am I correct in thinking about skipping only Crane Kick? I love Taunt even on Broots so it's a no brainer on a Tanker for me. Or is there anything else I could skip? All the attacks look so good except for the t1 and Crane after Cobra was buffed.
I know the tanker damage king is something like Fire/Fire or Fire/SS but I'm tired of Fire toons and wanted to try MA since the different implementation got me excited, and it's a set I've been meaning to try for ages, but on scrappers I stopped at 15 or so because I found it lackluster compared to most other sets. So when you find a set very good on an AT you don't usually play, I say play the damn AT(also the reason I'm rerolling my only defender, a Rad/Psy, to Rad/Sonic, Sonic Blast is great on defs, as Radiation Emission is significantly better as a primary).
Another option would be to build for res, hp, and massive regen but I don't know if I'll survive endgame content well, I know I'll never make a /Sr Tanker because it's only defense - I'm 'disappoint' even on my Claws/Sr with Aid Self, yeah she's awesome most of the time but... getting two shotted once in a while is not cool
Thanks for any opinions! I'm not asking for a build, mostly general directions. Patron/Epics suggestions would be nice too, my Broots use Mu or Soul but I don't think Ma would need Gloom and the Mu Brute is a farmer, I wouldn't get good use of Electrifying Fences on a Tanker as an attack because of no fury. Leviathan and Energy looks like solid picks for me, Energy Torrent recharges fast and Leviathan has arctic breath and a good damaging immob (and Bile Spray but... Breath powers especially vomiting toxic stuff would kinda murder my concept). -
Heh true we screwed up in that mission, but it was a good time. I did one after on my human PB that went very smoothly (no rushing nor avoiding mobs but we steamrolled the thing with one teamwipe at the clones because some charged into the bosses, but well that happened in every Posi I did so far that went well like no squishies dying even in the CoT ambush, then the team charges in the clones and faceplant) - the time was around 55 mins and there was only a hospital trip, and that on a group with debuffers plus lots of damage, my PB wasn't even afraid to lead with AoEs, only the clones were pulled by me in the end (after the team faceplanted the first time lol but I expect a teamwipe in the final battle when a regular group - like a not all tanker one - charges on those cheaters who have powers our toons didn't pick
).

Had a great time (first Tanker Tuesday, and third Tanker attempt of all time, but I'm really enjoying the Shields/MA combo, I always wanted to try MA and I think the devs did a great job with it on Tankers) and still got half a bil for the Posi race win plus a Kinetic Combat someone (I think Ace) gave me when I wasn't looking because I was just reading stuffs while standing pretty in the CC! Thanks for the fun!

Oh boy poor MA. I dislike Tankers and despite that I made a SD/MA Tanker and I'm loving MA there, especially with Shields. 25% def to m/r/aoe at level 4 and 33% +dam in CS (plus AAO), it even has decent AoE with Dragons Tail and the telenuke.

As for teams I can team anytime I want on Freem/Virt (and a bit on Exalted) because RO always has teams going, but I'm looking to be in server where people know each other. Maybe it was just bad luck since I only have a lvl 20 PB and a lvl 25 broot in Champs, I saw Trials announced in the channels, but most of you guys probably have a lot of 50s there like I do on Freedom (only got one on Virtue but I mostly go there when RO is teaming).
Btw I couldn't find your global channel in search ('Pillars' got me only one result, pillars of something else, some Virtue channel) , since I don't play everyday it might be hard to find one of you online. -
@Streetlight, great build! I'll do some tweaking based on yours, I want the heal and I'm really unimpressed by Luminous Detonation.

But its up to how you want to play .. i think if you want the def and you can get it that.. at least 35% to really make it affective imho then i say eff recharge.. cause really on a a moderate build on recharge like mine my light form is down 25 sec the most in pve..
So i would go with your build tweaked for def and just heal up when that 25sec is going..
Also you can get barrier or rebirth to help you in that 25 sec.. give or take.
And yes I need boxing and kick in case I keep this build, I don't have Tough. -

Drop all those thunderstrikes and go with decimations or enthropic 5 slot, and a dmg proc or achilles. (achilles in eye and dmg proc in blast).
go with crushing impacts 5 slotted in radiant and i-strike.. plus a dmg proc in both.. drop boxing for either your the new pb flight power or for pulsar.. cause between radiant strike I-S and solar you dont really need boxing.. solar flare will help you with the minions while you clean up the mob.
Also if you take pulsar take 3 slots out of inner light and transfer them to pulsar for the recharge in stupify..
Lastly if you cant reach over 35% def outside of vengeance i would say drop some of the slots out of glowing touch.. and put them towards health and stamina.. also use performance shifter in stamina.. ehh well you really dont need it if you have perma light form and little bit of toggles.. so thats really up to you.
well with those changes you can def make light form perma.. with 100% recharge outside of hasten.. and also the only thing i mentioned that would be expensive is the decimation's. everything else there practically giving away on the market.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Guess I'll have to go iTrialing again with the main build for the next 2-3 days to get t3 Ion (and while I'm at that, thinking about the T3 Carnival pet - I already have it, but I have the version with the Ring Mistress and attacking Seneschal, so not much effort necessary to get the untouchable seneschal, she gives some buffs, not a priority of course

2) Recharge and Hold. I like 4 basilisks and a lockdown +2 proc. Since procs only go off each 10 seconds after the initial chance, I don't find it worthy to put the hold damage procs there. Till i13 or so the power was broken and the proc would fire at every enemy so it was a mini nuke, then it was worth it. Now, meh, waste of slots imo although some like it.
3) FF will aggro, it won't break your stealth but it can be destroyed. I have grant invis for that (for the LOTG and using on the FF Gen), but I'm not a toe bomber so I'm respeccing out for other stuff (my fire traps is VERY old), but Grant Invis works great for that.
Also, put an achiless heel -res proc in Acid Mortar and if you can the Devastation chance to hold is nice too. -

I wrote 'could be useful' because the power is so bad I've never seen a Stalker take it. -
A lot of people do that, on Brawl - I use a Stupefy set in Boxing for the recharge on my SS/Fire secondary build that's just for farming for example, and another in Rise of The Phoenix which are two powers I never use on the build.

No, just use purples and build for some fire def. You won't use ST attacks anyway, slot them with perfect zinger and Aegis on your shields. I only use the two fire armor shields plus CJ to farm and need only 1 luck at a time (2 to softcap) to farm at +4/x8, weave and maneuvers are just placeholders for lotgs (which I got, along with a numina and miracle, without external funding).
And that was since he was frankenslotted with 30%ish global rech (used 4 purps to softcap then but no biggie). But I did incarnate him when he had a lousy build so my end problems went away with Ageless. After Spiritual+Reactive it got stupid good, all T3, did it in 4 days (2 to get him to 50 by myself, 2 for the incarnate stuff). -

It's still silly fast to ticket cap. Level 25 gives you the third row of Inspirations, which is necessary for efficient Inspiration combining. Beyond that, Energize and Power Surge are nice but not necessary. So actually, you'd be better off using Claws/Fire if you wanted to level lock around 30. Blazing Aura does a little more damage than Lightning Field, and you won't miss Energize much. But you want to continue to fight mobs that are level 2. Adding Burn to your AoE damage output won't make up for the big difference in mob HP.
The SS/Fire is all T3 and is stupid fast, I can cap tickets before a Rage Crash, and with a cheap build to boot (secondary build, besides from two oblits and 4 lotgs - he has 100% base rech before hasten). Elec/Fire looks viable too at 33 (CI-TS-Burn-LRod), hell I'll just level them both lol, I can slot LRod with 4 dam/rech and use it with BU which recharges at the same time. It's nice having more than one farmer. -

I don't think Claws/Elec (25 now) is that great especially since you die easily on TopDoc's lowbie farm if you're not careful (ok not that I die a lot, but I have to pay way more attention than my SS/Fire/Mu where I just have to eat 2 purps and the rest damage). I was thinking about elec/fire or claws/fire, since I won't be able to get insane rech unless I put purps I might do it on +1/x8 or even less.
The idea in elec/fire would be to use Burn, CI, TS and LRod (with BU since I can only put 4 dam/rech on LR). But maybe a Claws/fire is better? Fu to boost everything's damage, Spin, Burn, maybe Eviscerate.

If you're say, level 50 and choose a 15-19 Bronze/Gold roll you'll get the maximum level of said recipe. Say you roll a 25-29 Gold and get a Miracle - if you're level 25 you can get a lvl 25 miracle, or a 33 if you're 33 - if you're 50 you'll get a lvl 40 Miracle because it's the max level the Miracle recipes go.

Cmon guys Kat/WP scrapper is the obvious choice, just press 1 2 3 4 and you still get extra defense from Divine Avalanche (plus no chasing Fury like a Brute). Maybe you won't even die in the trip to 50.

So Mid's is totally wrong?
Ball Lightning = 95.72 total @ 50
Fire Ball = 142.3 total @ 50
That takes the crit chance into account but unless Mid's is completely bonkers the values should be about that. I know for a fact that on Brutes Fireball does more damage than Ball Lightning, since I have both on dual builds. -

I've been playing on Freedom/Virtue since I began, still gonna play there because half the time I'm teaming with the Repeat Offenders, but... On other teams there, things are getting a bit unpersonalized for my tastes. People form TFs, disband, nobody cares because there's a ton of other people.
So I'm trying to make Champion my home server for teaming outside of RO (luv them, but I want to make new friends). The problem is that I wasn't able to form a Posi thrice on a friday night, so I really need a SG -
I leveled a CEBR to 24 in 1:30 I think. But the farming is far riskier than I can do on my cheaply built SS/Fire/Mu (since I use AoEs only and put sets like mocking beratement and Aegis he has 20%ish fire def, so it's easy to softcap - plus he has spiritual, reactive, pyronic, ageless, all t3 so it's kinda safe even without purples at +4/x8).
I'm thinking about keeping the catgirl because I love elec armor and she's a fun toon, but my initial intention was to lock her at 33 for recipes.
What do you guys suggest for a 33 farmer? A claws/Fire or Elec/Fire looks good to me because of Burn, Spin, Healing Flames... I'm having trouble coming up with a build that doesn't eat up too many slots (tried an Elec/Fire, slotting Jacobs, Chain Induction, Thunderstrike and LRod properly till 33 is kinda impossible) -
I saw people in the channels talking about 7 minutes too.
I only did it twice, 30 mins the first (reading, some faceplanting at the ambushes) and 15 the second. But it was on a lvl 15 completely unslotted human PB
