That's okay, I did like 50 iTrials before learning how to form one, it's the same thing but a bit simpler since it's only 8 people.

    1) Form a team like any other (minimum 4 to do the trial)

    2) Go to the LFG tab and select 'Death From Below' and press Queue. Now if you have less than 8 people, it might wait for more, which can be a bad thing if nodoby else is looking/queued (I did try that on Champion, making 6-ppl teams and waiting to see if two were queued, over ten mins and nothing).

    3) So if you have a 4-7 people team and want to start immediately, just click the 'Lock this event for your group' button and then click on 'Queue'. As long as you have 4, it will start immediately. So technically you use the Queue but only to start the thing since you locked it and there will be no delay or waiting unless someone on the team goes afk and forgets to press 'enter' (after some time he will be kicked automatically)

Another interesting thing, if you have a 4-ppl team and another team with 2-4 wants to join you, you can click on the leader and 'invite to league' - there will be two separate teams listed, just right click on the other team's members and select 'add to your team', after you have one team you select 'lock the event' and press queue - this way you don't need to tell them to disband and reinvite everyone. I'm not sure what happens if you make a league with 16 people and start it, maybe two separate trials since max is 8.

MM is great too. But it's only 'great' instead of 'just another blaster secondary' (which to me are all except EM you already said) because of Drain Psyche - So -regen, -recov to AVs and everybody, you can get 'instant healing' with capped recovery and use thinks like hail of bullets/PSW without worrying like my ice/psy dom did with DP+melee stuffs like PSW and arctic air.

Oh I know, it was just to show how easy it is to softcap even without Kinetic Combats, I know this is unplayable - but it'd be a very fine exemplaring build after you get decent numbers of slots (since in this skeleton you have about 3 or 4 free slots only until 27) to get good numbers out of your attack chain. Plus no need to worry so much on endred after 27 (ED+slots). But I'd say that with the slots you get up to 30 you might make this workable with frankenslotting on other stuff, and would exemp very well to 25.

I mnay try something like this on my broot (he's 18, stuck in Praetoria, someday I'll get a toon out of there, I have 5 toons around 15-18 there and I love their concepts but hate the place lol), but I like taunt too much to try it so soon and also, WM is an end hog, so I'll need to really think how I'll slot stuff. Maybe level 30-33 IOs, I already like EA's numbers on SOs.

Only reason I am asking is because that one is capped at level 3, so when I run it as +1 it bumps me down to level 2 instead of the enemies up to level 4 (or I ran into a glitch?), Seems like it could go a little faster if I was able to do it +1 instead of +0.
That happened here too, very weird. I was running this mission because at level 3 I could use follow up to boost my damage, but when I changed to +1 it put me to level 2 to so I lost FU (and died for the first time in 25 levels lol, I wasn't killing them in 1 second like at +0/x8/bosses with fu active)

A goods tip is to take hasten at level whatever (I took it at 12) and 3-slot it with IOs ASAP - that way you can click on it before entering the mission.

Oh yeah on Freem/Virtue it's easy all the time (hell I logged at 6am today on Freedom because I woke up before planned just to check the market, there was a costume contest and I still won 125 mil for second prize lol - I am EST+1 so it was about 4-6 am for lots of Americans).

But try that on Champion, Justice, etc. I've been playing quite a bit on Champs, and no real difficulty on forming DFB but I REALLY have to assemble a team, I've been in queue on peak hours while I was doing stuffs (marketing, chatting in channels), and 15-20 minutes later nothing.

Yup, this. I could for example put a +perception IO on tactics but this is a farming only buid.

Anyway some SS/Fires who PL others (I never did except way back on my fire/kin and only like, 3 times) actually use Vengeance on some lowbie corpse to help, so it's not a totally wasted pick if you PL other people.

You're right, not all my freedom toons are there because I bought lots of extra slots on Freedom and didn't do it on test (although strangely I do have two free slots on test so not all my old freedom toons were copied), but except for three I do remember copying a long time ago (which were on Freedom anyway), all the 'new toons' there are from Freedom, I have 5 lowbie praetorians and only the 3 from Freedom are there, the others are on Virtue.

Thanks for explaining Aggelakis, Beta didn't exist when I left.

I was able to install Test in 5 minutes (copied the Coh folder to cohtest and updated with the shortcut from the launcher), unfortunately the market is down on test now. But thanks for the help!

Edit: weird someone said the test server was wiped, not only all my toons are there, some praetorian ones are too, and I know I never transfered anyone since I never had test after returning and buying GR, go figure

Thank you, I haven't bothered to install Test since I got a new computer, and since I took a break I was kinda confused between Beta and Test differences.

But is STJ available on Test?
  11. Negatives:
    - psionic hole
    - cannot cap DDR like /SR
    - mez protection does not protect against absolutely everything relevant like /SD or /WP (like fear/confuse), but then again only these two sets do.
    - the Taunt aura is tied to the mez, I don't care but some people do.
    - the heal comes way too late
    - like SR, basically non existent resists, all defense

    Positives:
    - extremely easy to soft cap, you can do it to s/l/e/f/c at 24 with a +3 steadfast and some cheap seats (I'll post a datachunk below)
    - unlimited endurance after 28 with defense bonuses when you use Energy Drain
    - good taunt aura with a recharge bonus per foe
    - stealth that doesn't llower defense when in combat
    - if you like godmodes Overload is great because it gives +maxhp - I prefer Elec Armor's godmode but I find them the best ones since I have no problems handling crashes (just wished it left you with like 5 end so you didn't detoggle).
    - with the recharge bonus and lots of places for lotgs, you can build a lot of recharge along with capped defs, even cap negative later. And you'll end up with some ranged defense (20-25% maybe) to cover most psionics.
    - the passives now have some resist to slow and end drain

(maybe I forgot something, so somebody add it if so)

Btw WM/EA is a great combo, as is Stone/EA, a primary with lots of mitigation really helps defensive sets. Both of those combos will be hard on the blue bar before Energize, but nothing compared to my Stone/Elec who leveled before Energize existed and Power Sink comes only at 35.

So here's a skeleton that caps s/l/e/f/c with three pieces of Aegis and 3 sets of Smashing Haymakers plus a Steadfast:

I have that impression as well. That's why I rerolled a 26 beam/poison to beam/traps - since poison's debuffs recharge so fast I had to redraw a LOT.

This. I paid for GR, I paid for boosters, I'd have paid for CoV if I were playing when it was released.

Also OP, do you happen to know that the world's most popular mmorpg that DOESN'T have a f2p model has three paid expansions which were released for 40 bucks each?

Hey don't give me ideas, I can't get anybody out of praetoria (especially since it's kinda deserted nowadays even on Virtue lol), I get bored around level 15 and I hate KM (because of the animations, not that they're long, I just don't like them), plus I don't play MMs. I like Elec Control a lot tho, was it part of the pack? If not it's REFUNDZ TIEMZ!!!

Thanks Beau! That's why I went with shields, besides more damage (and as you can see in the build I managed to slot the attacks properly, so happy it's easy to softcap a SD tanker!), you get a +HP power and I managed to get quite nice resists for a def toon. Happy to know 35hp/sec (which is mine without accos) is good enough

She's level 47 right now so all I need is to hit 50 and get my LotGs in there and the build is done! Quickest build I've put together thanks to ticket farming and hoarding the recipes I get.

Also had 33% for aoe defense at one point... but when I removed a couple powers like Power Surge from the build that went away. Of course, for a melee toon, I see melee/range defense as being enough for survival.
I don't care about AoE much even on my nin stalker, she's 50, ioed and I wanted moar rech, I don't miss the AoE def not capped (must be around 35%, she's not been played for a long time, still has stamina and stuff).

I think getting to 33%ish def, either on s/l or m/r will be great for my sm/elec broot, SM has crazy mitigation, she's one of my most survivable toons even with no def at the moment (she's 40), I found ELA a perfect match for stone. I could even tank a +2 SF at 22 before energize because of Fault mostly (of course Stone being the end monster it is, and spamming Fault, it was the only toon I've ever had that ran out of end speed boosted lol - and at that time I only had acc and endred on my attacks). I'll see what I can do with her based on your build, I got her to 33% s/l but I'm not very happy with some slotting I did just to achieve that while your build seems more solid (plus, kinetic combats... ouch), I'll try to build for positionals like you did. I guess weave and maneuvers are better on tankers, but I'll see what I can do

Yup I did that. But man the cone made me cry everytime I used it.

But guess I should stop QQ'ing and roll my DP/Dark Corr, not sure which server yet plus I don't feel like playing today and kinda hinders my toon creating skillz (I spend like 30 minutes on each lol)

Sure. I built some fire def so I with 1 purple I'm good enough on fire ambush farms (but 2 to softcap), and since medium purps drop so much I can softcap with them. You may find the slotting odd but when farming I only run the two fire shields and combat jumping, and it kills so fast my tray only has FS, Ball Lighting, Elec Fences, Burn and the other are combining macros for insps which I'll be trading for binds (mouse click for damages to convert everything to reds but purples). One aoe is always up anyway.

What I have now is kinda expensive but I've been at +4/x8/bosses since before I had the oblits and Lotgs and doing very well, so I've been capping tickets in a mission in the first ambush before the first rage crash with 47.5% less rech than in this build (I have Spiritual t3 so that adds more too, took me only 2 days to get all t3 stuff of BAF/Lam).

As a matter of fact I haven't tested this build with the oblits and lotgs yet, just put them on the toon two days ago and played lowbies only after. So yeah I only farmed with a build like this but with FS and Burn frankenslotted with Sciroccos and stuff and no lotgs. The fire/cold def will reamin the same without the expensive IOs I just added, and I kinda added them mostly to get ZOMG recharge, I didn't feel my build lacking without the expensive sets.

Also with Ageless T3 I don't need Consume or the numina/miracle uniques (currently have the numina, miracle is the only one missing form this).

(btw this is not the build I use for trials, for them it's a ss/fire/soul with KO Blow and Gloom properly slotted for damage, plus tough, weave, about 50% global rech before Spiritual, etc, not much def but it does fine anyway, I rarely die and RoTP is always up when i need it).

Also I have Pyronic but ultrawatt told me Ion Judgement is better so I'll go do some trials for that.

  18. Heh, after seeing this response I don't even know why I bothered to respond to Forbin on another thread. He seems to think everything is perfect in the game.

For like 50 bucks I can have an online store made for me in one of those hosting sites with a better interface than the Paragon Market.

You REALLY think that's a good solution? Most players ingame don't even know about the test server, imagine the f2p ones. May work for you, for me, but we're regular forumites, most players aren't. And some people won't want to install another game instance, not all have fast internet and you have to search the forums to find out that you can 'shorten' the install process by copying files.

    I mean, really?

Also, also Walmart has a no questions refund policy and I do believe they are the biggest retailer worldwide, best buy however sometimes hassles customers, sometimes not. Not nearly as succesful.
The Android Market had a 24 hour refund policy, no questions asked. Then google screwed up and lowered it to 15 minutes (wth? If I buy a 300 meg game there goes 10 minutes if I'm home).

A system of 6 or 12 hours refund would be nice imo but maybe they should limit it to some items like powersets - because one could make good use in 6-12 hours of the expensive 10 extra enhancement storage or the auction house thing in that time, while 6 hours is a good time to test a powerset or see how your toon would look ingame with new costumes imo.

I'm not a min maxer (although I have some min max toons), I'm actually loving my Human PB especially with the new BU, it's up quite a lot even on SOs.

Not much into blasters as I said but I'm quite pleased with the damage from dark blast.

I remember when I rolled the toon (3 months ago, she's 18 but stuck in Praetoria hell) I asked about Cryo Ammo because I didn't seem to notice it doing much, and I love slows. An experienced blaster player answered me he could actually kill a red boss only with his primary with his ice blaster, before the boss managed to get to melee with him. He also said he couldn't avoid a yellow minion from getting close to him with cryo ammo, he tested both on Cimemorans so well he certainly had a full attack chain of slows on both toons.

Btw gonna look up if the numbers for the slow and -dam on Corrs are better, on the discussions that ended up with 'only use standard ammo for survival or fire ammo for damage' I think they were mostly talking about blasters.
  23. @Infini yeah I got to 49.2% melee and 46.1% ranged to take advantage of SK. Surprised how easy it was. Aoe is at 42.3% but I'm keeping SK anyway, I always saw threads on the scrapper forums that SK is the best DPA attack on MA and should never be skipped anyway.

And that's eactly what I thought about CS versus CK, I don't mind energy blasters and PBs KBing my targets but since I use CS so much I think it'll get kinda boring if I have to run after a mob everytime I use CK.

And yes many people are talking about the delay on EC's damage boost. Perhaps it's a bug? But thanks for the tip on using TK+SK right after.

Btw very nice build! I like how you got to 33.5% m/r (without accounting Storm Kick) - I may revise the builds for my Stone/ELA Broot and DB/ELA Scrap since I went for s/l on them, maybe I can get close on defense (and building for s/l is hella expensive).

40.3 hp/sec on my slotting with accos, without them it's 35.1, I have no idea how good this is lol.

The new Blaster secondary will let you stack -tohit for safety, plus an AoE stun, a fear power, and an immobilize. You also get an end recovery power, and Soul Drain to pump out more damage. Oh, and a damage aura that you'll get good use out of when using the PBAOE Nuke from DP, Soul Drain, and Dark Consumption.
I saw your post, I just find dark meh. The stun is mag 2, the damage aura is not nearly as good as the hot feet and burn combo, and having played DM/DA so much I don't really think the to hit debuff would help a lot with Hail, and well my DM/DA toons had much better -tohit since they used all darky stuffs.

I like the fire secondary, I just hate the blaster DP damage. I'll make a DP/dark miasma because I love the animations so much, I hope I can make a decent damage dealer, dark is also a set I haven't taken to 38 and is not extremely busy like poison or pain.

On blasters my opinion is that DP sucks big time and is underpowered, I hope that with a debuff corr I can make it work for me.
  25. Thanks Beau.

Well the reason I'm skipping Crane is that because it's the same attack as Cobra now (numberwise) - I don't mind KB either, I just hit 'f' for follow if someone KBs my target or chenge targets (have g bound to nearest target) so never bothered me. I could keep any one of them, scrappers usually skip Thunder Kick but we can't and Bruising is good stuff.

The thing also is, Storm Kick, even if had no def bonus, is considered the best attack in MA by the math guys in the forums, ppl in the scrapper section always say it has the highest DPA of all MA attacks and nobody should skip it.

I gave a shot at a build... I didn't even try hard to softcap but wow, got all the resists (and a Kismet which I always have difficulty fitting in) I wanted and the build is even good for incarnate softcap with SK on melee (and almost at ranged - 56.1%). It has 336% regen with accos, not sure how good is that because I never built anything for regen since my IO'ed toons are the kind that can get two-shot (except my SS/Fire Broot and my DM/DA scrapper but they don't need to be built for regen) - I might consider swapping Grant Cover for OwTs (dont mind losing a lil recharge) but it's a long way from there, I tend to level 2-3 alts at the same time:
