It's very loud, had to lower the youtube volume to 30% to get it to the same level as Jayboh's videos. Maybe a bit bass heavy but it's not distorted or anything when I lower the volume on my computer.

BTW extremely impressive stuff what are your normal def numbers? I never played regen too much but have a baby kat/reg on the works and I really want to make a TW/Regen brute (got one on SOs at 50 on beta, managed to do rikti at 0/x6 but my regen skillz are sucky for now, my SM/Elec Brute can do better on other factions and she's frankensloted) - I hope I can do some crazy stuff on a regen with ios but without shadow meld (I like brutes better, shame they don't get it, would be awesome for a regen)

  3. Thanks, lots of great responses!

I'm quite experienced with controllers, in fact my 1st and 3rd 50s were very high-maintenance toons, a mind/emp and a fire/kin, made the fire/kin for farming and my coalition at the time was gonna PL him but I enjoyed him so much I ended up leveling the hard way and by the time he had a s/l capped build and was ready for teh uber loot... I shelved him, too much playtime, but I don't regret it

My mind/emp is probably my most expensive build and the busiest toon I ever had, she has so many binds that if I logged her today I'd take half an hour to remember them all lol.

I've played Plant till 35 on doms (plant/thorns, plant/ice), but hadn't thought about tornado doing containment damage and how roots can be used for damage since well, doms have damaging secondaries as you know. I forgot about spirit tree because on doms I'm used to take aid self, except for my ice/psi (gotta admit that I'm really not used to having a toon with no self-heal, my/sd and /sr scrappers have aid self too).

Since the plant/ice is shelved and has a nice costume I'll make her a plant/storm.

I'll look for builds, not sure how to slot creepers since my doms were never set-IO'ed, just frankenslotted for acc/dam/rech on creepers. But I like Local's slotting for them, I usually don't go too crazy on procs (like, Freezing Rain usually gets one Achilles and them 1 acc / 2 rech). Fly Trap accepts Achilles too IIRC - I only had her frankenslotted for acc/dam and didn't use her so much since I ditched the plant/thorns at 35 but the pet didn't impress me, maybe I'm wrong but I even liked Jack Frost more, although I had way more playtime with my ice/psi.

Thanks a lot for the help, I know Plant well and played Storm quite a bit but from what was posted the synergy seems impressive, I didn't realize all the damage potential. I barely see Stormies in the game but I remember a Defender and my dm/da scrapper just clearing the rest of an ITF everybody had left, and I was in his Hurricane area all the time. When he left the romans completely owned me lots of times, that was the one time I saw a Stormie being awesome (mainly because I never saw many of them in the higher levels - like Stalkers, you see a lot of them till 20 and them they seem to disappear, no pun intended ).

  5. No idea if they'll get it, but if they do, I highly doubt they get a taunt aura.

A concealment/+def power like Cloak of Darkness / Energy Cloak is far more likely and a natural replacement for Hide.

They'd need something to replace Caltrops too since it's in the Weapon epics. Maybe some passive power that does a little something like the ones in regen or invul.

Same, but getting closer to 2 months. I run the launcher and then close it.
  7. I never had a high level stormie and I'm willing to roll one. Got a 30ish mind/storm but as much as I love mind control, I'm thinking I won't like Tornado and LS without an immob.

So... I rarely see stormies ingame besides some defenders, and I see people raving about plant/storm here and how they can go fast through x6 or x8 mobs (and fire/storm but I'm sick of fire control, plus I hear this combo is hell on the blue bar).

Is it a damaging combo before epics? If so, is it mainly because of creepers+immob+tornado and LS?

What do you guys build for? Recharge and defense I guess?

Do you feel the need to have a self heal? I usually have toons that can heal themselves.

    Thanks!
  8. Here's a video - that was before the patch (so plain BU), and as you can see the player doesn't really leverage momentum because in normal gameplay you don't need OMG MOMENTUM since it's up after each strike anyway.

But interesting nonetheless to see what TW is capable of even not playing like 'like a pro', just casual play there. I tried to make a video at +1/x8 with my bumped 50 TW/Regen but failed because I never played regen so I got hammered pretty fast lol.

(You can also see the sounds are pretty lackluster compared to say, Stone Melee and even Broadsword, but no matter how much we complain in beta nobody seems to care)

    Damage Scale: .700
Range Scale?: assuming blasters are 1.00...blappers would be .75 (meaning that if a blasters attack has a 100' range, the blappers attack would have a 75' range)
"defense" scale: .5 (Tankers are 1.00 and Scrappers are .75) (Regen and WP would have to be looked at more closely)
    No knockback protection.
    No Mez Protection Toggles.
(armor set toggles or clicks that currently have mez protection now grant a bonus to the Blappers Inherent ability)
Toggles will be dropped if mezzed. (not just surpressed...except for current mez protection toggles-see inherent ability)

    Inherent Power: Blapping
All attacks executed on an enemy within the melee damage range of 7' or less adds .5 mez protection (hold, stun, sleep) that lasts for 5s. Stackable. 3 points of protection max. Each additional attack restarts the 5s timer.
Current armor toggles that offer mez protection offer the Blapper a bonus to Blapping. All attacks executed with in the melee damage range of 7' or less now adds 1 mez protection that lasts for 5s. (so instead of taking 6 attacks to get to the 3 point max...it only takes 3.
Inherent aside, that looks like a gimped PB to me.
  10. I once played a fire/fire blaster up to 32, he dropped all the time.
  11. I love the FF +Rech proc in Fault (I have 5 stupefys for cheap great bonuses and good accuracy since Fault has an acc penalty). You can put it in tremor too if you want.

I'd skip Spring attack, I find it weak even at full fury (took it for lulz once in a claws/fire AE farmer). Also I'd remove the second slot from taunt and put a taunt/range io.

They have loosened some restrictions over the years, like the restrictions on travel powers. Maybe they'll open up the secondary a bit someday. It seems unlikely, though. We're all so used to it that I don't think anyone thinks about it much these days.
Well I think about it everytime I have to pick Gale. Useful for a corr till level... 6 or something (ok maybe till DOs), and lulzy on most trollers. You'll also see in the Dominator forums that most high end builds leave the (usually) crappy tier 1 attack with an acc or acc/dam ho at most. I'd probably respec out of the tier 1 cold power on corrs and trollers once I get Sleet and/or enough accuracy.

Also, if you wanna gimp your Stalker not taking Hide, nothing new, since you can skip all MM pets if you wish.

I like some tier 1 powers, but I can see cases in which a power I like (say, Web Grenade on /Traps) could be less useful on MMs, an AT I don't play.

There are also cases in which a tier 1 power could be more useful later imo (RPD on invul, FH on regen) when you have SOs/special IOs so you could pick other powers earlier.
  13. Lookie at how much they care about Stalkers - latest beta notes:

    Quote:
    Class Specific Powers

    Mastermind
Field Mastery \ Power Blast now properly accepts Knockback Sets.
Field Mastery \ Power Blast no longer accepts Endurance Modification Sets as they did nothing in this power.

    Tanker
Arctic Mastery \ Ice Blast now properly accepts Slow Enhancements and Slow Sets.
Soul Mastery \ Summon Widow no longer accepts To Hit Debuff Sets as they did nothing in this power.

    Brute
Arctic Mastery \ Ice Blast now properly accepts Slow Enhancements and Slow Sets.
Soul Mastery \ Summon Widow no longer accepts To Hit Debuff Sets as they did nothing in this power.

    Corruptor
Leviathan Master \ Summon Coralax no longer accepts To Hit Debuff Sets as they did nothing in this power.

    Defender
Leviathan Master \ Summon Coralax no longer accepts To Hit Debuff Sets as they did nothing in this power.

    Dominator
Leviathan Mastery \ Summon Coralax no longer accepts Defense Debuff Sets, Knockback Enhancements or Knockback Sets as they did nothing in this power.

    Controller
Leviathan Mastery \ Summon Coralax no longer accepts Defense Debuff Sets, Knockback Enhancements or Knockback Sets as they did nothing in this power.
Now where are Stalkers, who have more severe issues in their epics, mentioned?

This. I get good use of Power Surge on my ELA Brute even with a single res/rech IO in it because I don't need to use it every time it's up, but retoggling all the shields and tough/weave/CJ is annoying as hell, more than nukes since usually blasters/def/corrs don't have to retoggle as much (although I skipped nukes on some cores because I love the leadership pool and I get annoyed by retooling them even though they aren't as necessary for survival as a meleer's armors).
  15. Can pets solo a GM on their own? Like, taking an extremely good Lore Pet like Vicky and company (or another, doesn't matter) and using a resilient toon like a Tanker just spamming taunt?

  18. Teams don't expect Recall Friend, really.

You can soft cap without the fighting pool but find somewhere to put the stedfast unique - the heal can take it since it provides toxic res.

Doesn't matter if you take Boxing or Kick, you won't be using them anyway, they're crap powers. Difference is you can slot a stun set in boxing and a kb set in Kick, and Stupefy (stun) and Kinetic Crash have great bonuses (you can even use K. Crash as your sole KB protection if you feel it's enough).

Hasten is nice for /nin, mostly because of the heal. Not a necessity tho, I have an IO'ed EM/Nin that left the mez protection on auto and I often forgot to click Hasten and didn't feel it made a lot of difference like it does for certain sets like regen. I usually pick Hasten on my toons after 22 because of SOs.

Kin Melee is not very end heavy, Stalkers in general aren't end heavy, but you'll probably want some endred in your attacks, maybe not in AS since you won't be using it too often in the later levels. I skip the tier 1 in most sets except in special cases (like Katana/N. Blade where the tier 1 is better than the 2)

    The rest, Errant covered well.

Shhh I have one of those. But I heard rumors of controllers with invincible tank pets all the time and also nasty debuffs, being able to solo GMs and AVs as a hobby without incarnate stuffs

I had this happen to me the first time I bought points, same card as the game one, only one account, etc.

Unfortunately I don't recall exactly how I solved it, all I remember is that I did in 5 minutes - I think there was a link in the market near the message to authorize it, or it told me to authorize in the plaync website. Sorry, wish I could remember , all I know is that I was shown what to do in the same window that I got the message and did it quickly (in fact that's why I don't remember, it was easy to do it in my case).

Lol that's what I thought, and I liked Kristen in every movie I saw except Twilight (I kinda liked the first Twilight as entertainment, but didn't like her character). And I find her pretty, but well... Charlize Theron is really on another level imo.

Not really, I admit it took me some time to get the hang of it, but after you're in the 'groove', it's like 2-3 minutes in mission - 30-45 seconds buying/using tons of reds and filling on purps (didn't bother with oranges after I got better) - enter mission (if you're smart you'll choose a 5-mission arc not having to go thru the MA interface each time). Still, even if you take 2 minutes at the insp vendor you'd level to 50 in what, 12 hours instead of 8-10. Now after the nerf maybe 15-20 hours, I dunno, only did it once.

The only thing slowing me down was the 5 minutes or so I got each five runs to roll recipes, which of course could've been faster if I chose to roll gold and spend all my tickets in 3 rolls, but I did bronze because I wanted to get better value on the process.
