    FootStomp melee!

    1) Low dmg FootStomp, 4 sec rech, +22.5% def to all so you can softcap easily with two applications, and a good LoTG mule for the defensive sets
    2) The normal boring FootStomp we have
    3) Rage
    4) Ranged Footstomp, like Fault but with 80' range and normal FootStomp damage and radius, the set can't have just PbAoEs after all, it also does -def because mobs don't see it coming from afar (so that you can slot the achiles -res proc)
    5) Taunt, but since your taunt is a FootStomp, mobs get KD'ed when you use it
    6) Stygian Dark FootStomp, works on alive and dead enemies to replenish your health and end, and of course alive mobs fall down too, the set is kinda end heavy after all
    7) Mag 4 Stun FootStomp (the utility power), this is the skippable one because it does no damage and stun is annoying sometimes with wandering mobs
    8) FootStomp on the face, this is the extreme dmg ST attack with KD (because KB sucks) and a mag 4 stun (sorry, hold isn't thematic)
    9) Teleporting ZOMGDMG FootStomp mininuke with 30' radius

People might complain tho because of Rage crashing and mobs wandering from stun but all the KD and utility powers might alleviate the shortcomings.

    Sd/ma

Well I have a SD/MA but she's a.. Tanker so I guess you posted in the wrong forum.

But she's great, running around with 25% def to all at level 4 because of Storm kick and near 40% after SOs with PF is awesome. Damage is very good for a Tanker too.

Oh I just added that to clarify, because the OP might not know it, I've ran into a few players that didn't realize the cloak has great defense and is not only a stealth tool.

As for damage cap, paragon wiki says it's 500% for corruptor. Does individual ability has its own cap?
    I'm a Mac user

But I use Windows when playing (bootcamp) because of Mid's and because the Mac client sucks, it crashes like once per hour while the Windows one basically never crashes here.

When I said you'll be damage capped with Posi Blasts, I meant that without the dam/range IO you'll reach the 99% max damage for slotting a power, more than that is wasted.

AT damage caps are something different and you'll only reach 500% by doing stuff like eating a ton of red insps or being buffed by a 10-mob fulcrum shift by a kinetics toon. For enhancement purposes you'll want to max the damage slotting for a power at 95%ish, the 5 posi blasts (minus dam/range) already give 100.7%, if you use the dam/range instead of the proc you get about 130% which is wasted because it caps at 95-99%.

Damage bonuses inflate base damage, so you'll get the greatest benefit when grabbing them on Blasters/Scrappers/Stalkers.
Yeah for Brutes it sucks. For a Corr maybe it's not worth chasing as much as a Blaster because of the lower base damage and especially if Scourge doesn't benefit from it (I think it doesn't, not sure).
  5. It already has bigger range than all the other melee sets, 9 feet versus 7 for ST attacks and iirc 10 on the TW cones versus 8 on others like Crowd Control.
  6. I see, I have an old WM/EA build here (never leveled him tho) with capped s/l/e/n (so energy is at 55% in order to cap neg, f/c is at 43%) before Energy Drain and it ended up with 24.5% melee/ranged and 17.1% psi incidentally.
  7. Cast times for TW with and without momentum:

    Defensive Sweep: 2.20/1.30
    Crushing Blow: 2.00/1.30
    Titan Sweep: 2.43/1.30
Follow Through: 1.00 (not usable without Momentum)
    Rend Armor: 2.30/1.30
Whirling Smash: 1.00 (not usable without Momentum)
    Arc of Destruction: 2.70/1.50

The SLOWEST power (AoD), which is a massive damaging cone btw, is still faster than Concentrated Strike, and much faster than Total Focus and Thunder Strike for example. And you don't get fast versions of these attacks in their sets like in TW.

Psi is a big hole for EA, and unlike other sets, our defenses are not positional, so no psi attack is covered by our powerset.
Check your ranged defense, you must have some with IOs for e/n def, if it's good enough you won't need psi def because very few psi attacks have no ranged component (dominate, mesmerize and I think terrify, the way more common pink psi blasts are ranged).

    1. I do have 3 level 30 Defense IOs in both Deflection and Battle Agility.
    2. I do not have Weave. I play melee characters exclusively and I've always managed to get by without *ever* dipping into the Fighting Pool. I'm hesitant to take yet MORE toggles to eat up my End bar. My playstyle is very much the neverending attack rush. I don't like downtime.
    3. I don't have Combat Jumping. 2.12% Defense doesn't seem worth a power pick, now that I can skip it. Also, see above about MORE End toggles.
    4. Don't have it yet. True Grit is slotted with 3 level 3 Heal IOs for the MaxHP.
    5. I do.

As for my slotting, here's my setup, all with level 30 generic IOs unless stated otherwise.

    Initial Strike: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx/1 Dmg
    Sweeping Cross: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx
    Rib Cracker: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx/1 Dmg
    Combat Readiness: 1 RchRdx
    Spinning Strike: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx/1 Dmg
    Shin Breaker: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx/1 Dmg

    Deflection: 3 Def
    True Grit: 3 Heal
    Battle Agility: 3 Def
    Active Defense: 1 RchRdx
    Against All Odds: 1 EndRdx
Phalanx Fighting: Karma: Knockback Protection/Luck of the Gambler: Defense/Global Recharge
    Grant Cover: 1 Def

    Health: Miracle: +Recovery
    Stamina: 3 EndMod

Aid Self: 2 Heal/2 Interrupt Duration
Get CJ. It barely costs any end and will help. And the steadfast +3, since you have money for miracle and LoTG, the steadfast is dirt cheap compared to those. Leave grant cover for later, or just skip it.

Weave is also recommended because /SD has low defense numbers compared to /SR. SD is only easy-ish to softcap on tankers and even that requires IOs and well, usualy, Weave. Plus Tough will double your s/l resist if you slot deflection for resist as well as defense.

You don't need the karma KB IO, shields has kb protection.
  10. Energy Drain is autohit, no need for acc.
With Ea you may want to get Combat Jumping (1 def), Weave (3 def, 1 end) and Hasten.

Also, Energy Cloak, slot like the shields.

  13. On Mid's, click on 'View Active Sets' - it will show any wasted bonuses you have due to the rule of 5.

The Procs (Positron, Achilles) proc in the initial cast and then once each ten seconds, freezing rain lasts 30 secs so it will proc thrice (maybe 4 times? 0, 10, 20, 30? not sure but at least 3 times). And you can keep the proc and get rid of the dam/range on Ice Storm since you'll still be damage capped on the power and you don't need more range for Ice Storm - the proc is worth it imo because it can fire twice over the 15 secs duration of IS.

Yeah go with 4 basilisks, status resistance is basically useless.

Slotting for +damage is not common because usually people find something they want more (like my plant/storm build, I'm trying to squeeze all the s/l/ranged def I can while keeping the 90% recharge). I'm not saying it isn't a valid goal to chase damage bonuses, it just isn't common except for the pvp crowd because in pvp spike/burst damage is more important since everyone keeps moving and all. But if you ask me, the only AT I would really recommend against chasing damage bonuses are Brutes because of how Fury works.

If you're having end problems with EBs, you may want to keep 2 endreds on snow storm - SS is end heavy and enhancing the slow won't help with the recharge debuff, only the movement debuff, which I find plenty good already, and besides you being ice blast, basically every power you have will help slow down the mobs.
  14. Yes, it's the same as FootStomp, you can't use AoD on the air, I have a level bumped TW guy on beta.
  15. IMO you should state what you're looking after for this toon because you seem to be very satisfied with him already, or else I think (just my opinion) that you won't get more than the basic 'build for moar rech and defense' advice. The crazy /FA toons who solo hard stuff (usually SS/Fire Brutes) go for recharge and capping s/l def. My SS/Fire went only for recharge and fire def (for farms so I don't have to use many purple insps) but he does very well on TFs (solo on high settings too because he kills mobs so fast, but I never did crazy stuff like soloing AVs or TFs)

On the Burn thing, I don't think tentacles will help much because Burn only has a 8 feet radius, I have a scrapper with tentacles for the utility (and some AoE damage, dark/dark) and unless the mobs are already VERY close to each other it'd be hard to use it to leverage Burn like a Brute, where Burn is so good that I use it as a ST attack on bosses since they don't run away.
  16. Protip: you'd get more help if you posted the data chunk.

Personally I'd focus more on recharge and +hp than regen on a fire aura toon (in my case defnse too but I see you're not worried about that), I'd ignore regen altogether because of healing flames. But I don't plan my builds around incarnate stuff so ymmv. I just thing you're getting too little recharge for all this investment.
  17. Me too, especially with fury being so easy to maintain now. I like protecting the squishies so I take taunt on the Broots.

That's why I rerolled my fav scrapper, DM/DA, into a Brute. The only scrappers I have now are ones that I find better for numerical or power reasons (fire/shield because sd is awesome on scrappers, kat/regen because I don't wanna tank with a regen brute and I can get shadow meld on a scrapper).

But well I'm willing to put up with that if it means the cursor doesn't disappear. Or maybe installing one of the previous packs with the smaller cursors if they don't disappear, since my problem is not with the cursor size as I can always spot it in the OS and other games.

What were they thinking?
Someone said it was because devs wanted the obligatory power to be useful to the toon, now I don't remember who and if that had any grounds, but Poison has a tier 1 that you can't use to benefit yourself (Alkaloid) so well at least now that's not a valid argument.

Anyway yeah it sucks. I only used Gale on some parts of the Posi 2 TF I did yesterday because some suicidal scrapper was soloing mobs (and was gonna die) and I went out of my way to help him more than once, and if Seeds was recharged I woudn't have used Gale (I was still on DOs). And this stupid power still has an accuracy penalty.

Even on my Mind/Storm (no AoE immob) I leveled to 30ish long ago I barely used it past the teens, Mind has enough tools to mitigate anything.
  20. Dark Blast/MM.

Because unlike these two above I'm weird and I love cones and positioning.

Also tons of survivability before IOing due to DP and Life Drain.

People gripe about Empty Clips because it's slower than almost all other blaster cones and Blasters in particular benefit from mobility (and therefore low rooted times), but in the end you'll still clear a spawn a lot faster with Empty Clips than without it (unless you are DP/Fire and just go nuts with PBAoEs).
Yeah you're right. The cone is not so bad, comparing to Corr and Blaster Psy Scream, it does the exact same damage (which is a bit more than the tier 1 blast in the case of Corr Psy Blast), with shorter recharge and shorter cast time (has lower range tho). And that's with lethal ammo because I don't know how to select incendiary on Mid's.

Tenebrous Tentacles on Blasters has the same rech, same range (a bit wider arc) but does less damage than Empty Clips (and less than Dark Blast, the tier 1), again lethal ammo values, so it's not as bad as I thought. The blast set cones that actually do damage in between the tier 1 and tier 2 blasts are the 16 sec recharge ones (Electron Haze, Frost Breath, well Fire Breath does more damage than Fire Blast but Fire Blast shouldn't enter any comparison lol). Howl also does less damage than the tier 1 and is on a 10 sec rech like Empty Clips.

So thanks, your answer made me compare the cones and I saw EC is actually good - maybe it just doesn't look that way because it's DoT on a long animation. But I used to have the impression that Frost Breath sucked hard until I looked at the numbers, and it's not even a DoT, it does its damage in 2 parts (maybe it's the lackluster visual effect, unlike Fire Breath).

And well since I've settled on a DP/Dark corr, the animations won't be a big deal for me since it's a 'safe' toon. I was a bit worried about using HoB when I was leveling my DP/Fire but I guess I'll be ok with the corr (she's 22, god I have so any toons at 22 it's not funny, that's why I haven't bought TW and StJ, because my Beam Rifle toon, the only powerset I bought, is also 22 lol - he was 30 but BR/Poison was redraw hell so now he's /Traps). If I made another DP Blaster I'd probably go /MM but I already have a Dark/MM.

I guess I'll try this too.

    When I left the game I used a 22 inch at 1680x1050, now I use a 2560x1440 27 incher.

BUT - I don't have bad eye sight, I never lose the cursor in the system and in other games, only in CoX. My previous computer didn't run Ultra Mode, but I can run Skyrim and whatever else at the same resolution and I know where the cursor is if I move my mouse one inch. In CoX, even doing a circular motion to find the cursor, and even in compatibility mode where it becomes a low res and bigger pointer, sometimes it takes like 5 seconds for me to find it.

I hope this can help me but I don't think the size of the cursor is the problem for me at least.

Yeppers, plus Dark Blast has Life Drain and -tohit to add even more to the survivability.

But when I don't like the style, no way. I couldn't play Kinetic Melee even knowing it's very good because I disliked the animations. While DP I made three toons until I was satisfied with one because I loved them (I was about to give up because I wanted a blaster, but I was disappointed with Blaster DP, but a DP/Dark corr made me happy).

But... When a powerset I love and played a lot is nerfed I abandon the toon - at least I did in the two times it happened (fully IOed Ice/Psi dom and EM/Nin Stalker). Even though PSW was broken, the changes made me too sad. Em was a different case because I think it was overnerfed, not adjusted like psi assault.
