Ooo nice, didn't know it was on CoD already, that was fast.

Quote:I'm actually surprised with the new launcher. Few things reach my max download speed when I get a file from a website or whatnot, the nclauncher does when updating the game. I only get similar download speeds from torrents with a lot of seeders, both in the mac and windows launchers. And I'm in South America.I've found that the NCsoft Launcher is slower than the old updater.
(the old updater was quite slow, was another computer but same internet connection, I got about 1/5 of my max download speed)
Haven't had memory issues but my computer is new and I kinda went overboard on RAM. Anyway my client and the launcher basically never crash so I have nothing against them (ok I hate the Mac client with a passion even with lower gfx settings, it locks up once per hour and the windows one on the same computer can stay on 12 hours in a row without a crash). -
I'll have to be more clear I'm afraid... (Sorry DLancer)

Now that Siolfir got the anime thing outta the way and showed it's fully covered, the next step is logical

Heh I bet even Energy Melee/Dark Armor where you can stun a lot of mobs and the attacks are slow and mostly ST doesn't hinder Futy generation nowadays.
Quote:KO Blow = 2.23 secsI'm low level on my TW brute, so no fancy recharge enh or IO sets yet but I'd only assume the animation times *may* be comparable to SS? Factoring in KO blow in every chain and waiting for it to complete and all... followed by a chain of standard attacks.
I'm at work so I can't compare the numbers so that statement is IMHO. Also, the Build Up power in this set grants 10 seconds of Momentum. It's fun when you have a lot of AoEs ready to go and will generate pretty quick.
If anything, at lvl 22+ you can probably take on a larger level of mobs and have their attacks add to your advantage of fury building. It's a lot more fun, too and doesn't take much. (SMASH)
Titan Weapons with and without momentum:
Defensive Sweep: 2.20/1.30
Crushing Blow: 2.00/1.30
Titan Sweep: 2.43/1.30
Follow Through: 1.00 (not usable without Momentum)
Rend Armor: 2.30/1.30
Whirling Smash: 1.00 (not usable without Momentum)
Arc of Destruction: 2.70/1.50 -
Quote:Tactics on Brutes is only 7% (up to 11% fully enhanced) and FA only 5% (up to almost 8%) so the 6% Kismet proc is very good even compared to enhanced values. FA is quite the stinker nowadays because it costs double the end of Tactics.Another option I am going with since TW takes lots of endurance is to use the Kismet +6% to hit. It is a proc so the power needs to be active but you can slide it into an early defense power or combat jumping. Not quite the to hit of Tactics or Focused Accuracy but no endurance cost either.
Quote:And, the Kismet proc can be bought for one Hero/Villain Merit!
A steal

I hope i22 will be awesome for Staslkers, but we're used to getting trolled!
- Pre-inherent stamina: hey guys you're gonna have the tightest builds possible to fit in Hide, AS and Placate
- Hai here goes ice armor just for you but you still keep the low hp cap that makes Hoarfrost sucky lol
- Game creator: Stalkers are 10/10 damage like blasters honest trololol
That's what happened to Stalkers:
-
-
Just to answer the basic, yes it attaches to all attacks and even secondaries' offensive powers like damage auras and pseudopets (shield charge) although the pets have a lower damage cap and that's one of the reasons everyone loves shields on scrappers (plus AAO since scrappers get more from +damage).
-
Go to File-Settings
There's a setting at the botton: 'After launching a game....' and select 'Exit Launcher'.
That may solve your problem since it crashes during the game. -
At least you can fight one of these even if you took an arrow in the knee.

Quote:I'm really not trying to be rude, but if you have to type stuff to use Wormhole the 'best way' when another controller can use flashfire/stalagmites/seeds of confusion/terrify/basically almost all AoE control powers at will without bothering the rest of the team, it means the power is severely lacking, especially since the set doesn't have another AoE control (for example, telekinesis can be bothersome in some situations, useful in a few, but mind control has a lot more to use instead). Before too many people start "QFT-ing" some serious fallacies:
Ony if the wormhole user is a moron. The targeting for this power does work. Communicating intent ("I'm WHing mobs around the fire brute, unless anyone has a better idea.") alerts even PuGs, as long as everyone can read (not always a winning assumption...).
The other control set that has a less than ideal power for eating alphas (Ice Control, which I played to death) still doesn't need communication and won't get any hate even from inadequate usage from Ice Slick (because casting it when it won't do anything useful like on top of an immob, also will not harm the team). -

HAWT
And not so hawt:
Now that's just weird:

Although they did a marvelous job in screwing up the combo system for Stalkers (relying on BU and AS), I dislike Claws because it lost almost all of its AoE, DB at least kept the high damage cones.
The only AoE in Stalker Claws is Shockwave which while good, isn't a 'use every time it's up' power especially on a team because of the KB. -
Good points, I'd speculate that they wouldn't take out FT or WS because they're part of the set's gimmick (only usable within momentum).
Rend Armor I still think they'd keep because it's the most damaging ST attack, in fact the only extreme ST move in TW.
So it may get a bit more complicated like changing the power order a bit (FT as the tier 3 so you'd have 3 attacks till AS like other sets), they'd have to change the order anyway to put AS at level 6, like we get Parry/DA/Thunderstrike/Siphon Life/Cobra Strike only at 18 instead of 8, Scrappers usually get some AoE at 18 that we don't.
I'd be okay with losing Titan Sweep and keeping the Footstomp clone (WS)
Anyway just wild speculation, I don't even believe Stalkers will get TW - the devs were 'surprised' with the negative reaction from stalker players not getting it after all. -
Quote:Yeah they could have the same cast time and damage scale as the blast sets. This would make them actually useful especially from Hide, I don't find them must have powers on the blast/assault sets that's why I called them 'subpar' but I got very good mileage of Psi Lance on my ice/psi dom pulling AVs and in pre-i13 zone pvp.Well I never said I was happy with the snipes, just that they can be used to your advantage. I'd love the snipes to be refitted to the same activation as normal snipes (at least) and their damage set to the same as well. Heck, I'd even advocated for various changes like Assassin's Focus affect snipes in some way as well.
I think I had more success with psi lance than the others in the av pulling thing because of travel time tho since I could be very far away when it hit, but the cast time of the blast ones wouldn't be bad critting from hidden on a Stalker to hit the sapper, surgeon or whatever. -
Quote:I find it so funny when people say some power would be gamebreaking for Stalkers and yet they never ever mention 'Oh I saw this OPed Stalker who decimated everything on my team'. While you probably saw an OP something of almost every other AT.Game-breaking and Stalker do not belong in the sentence dude. You obviously haven't played this game much.
There are way more overpowering set combinations than Stalker with a giant axe.
I haven't tried TW (don't intend to unless it's available for Stalker) but whatever aoe it has, it is still melee aoe.
And don't forget they need to take at least one power out of Titan so the Stalker version will be a "watered down" version again. You are worrying too much!
Although it has an AS-like animation, I doubt they'd remove the ST hard hitter of the set for AS, it'd be like removing Eviscerate, or Midnight Grasp, or ET/TF (well EM has two heavy hitters), I bet it'd be the middle cone (since the first is a +def power and the other is the tier 9).
There are already people saying the middle cone, while very good, is skippable on a top build (or the +def one if you have a def set but they wouldn't take out the tier 1 anyways). -
Tanker DA can get 79.2 ish percent psi resist on SOs alone with one power, so you may cap it by accident since there are quite some psi resist set bonuses around.
But since scrappers (and brutes) can get 59.4% with 3 res IOs in the same power, it shouldn't be hard to cap a scrapper since it's only about 5% more you need to get to 75% compared with the tanker to get 90%. -
Even if you don't wanna be a ZOMG Traps power player, the thing about getting Hasten on a Trapper (I only have corr trappers but I guess this applies to MMs as well) is that Traps benefits so much from the extra recharge that after you are able to stack your pseudopets you'll be effectively as good as two trappers, and MMs still get more mileage from stacking Triage Beacons at least solo because of the pets and the big pool of HP you are when you're in BG mode.
-
Quote:It would be a top set anyway, I'd guess they'd remove the middle cone if it is/were ported.Butthurt feelings aside, Stalker TW could be really fun. My biggest hang up with Stalkers in general is that they lack a lot of AOE's. Now, I'm sure the Devs will still try to remove as much AOE as possible, but I don't see them getting all of it.
That'd leave the set with a footstomp clone which I wouldn't think would be removed because it's one of the moves that are usable only within momentum. That wouldn't be balanced with other Stalker primaries but well they've never been anyway, like KM with the 100% AoE crit, ELM with all the good moves, MA with too many ST attacks and the like. -
Ya know, EA also has an endurance management tool, and it gives you +def. And at level 35 just like Power Sink.
I prefer /ELA on a Brute tho, although I like it just fine on a scrapper. -
Quote:No you don't. I don't remember the numbers, but you can be at 45% or 100% defense and a +4 boss will have the same chance to hit you (which is higher than 5% as you said but I don't recall). So getting to 45% is what matters in most scenarios - your tank can have more but he won't have more actual defense than any 45% def toon against the usual attacks, no matter if it's from a -1 minion or from a +4 boss. One detail that too many people often forget, I think, is that the fabled "defense cap" at 45% is based on even-con minions. It'll get you hit once in 20 attacks on average only then. Question - in the end game content, how often do you go against one of those?
Against anything above your level or above minion rank, let alone both, you need more than 45% to "soft-cap".
In Incarnate trials the enemies have the equivalent of +14% tohit so the softcap is 59%. Again, doesn't matter if you are at 59% or 150% def because they'll have the same chance to hit you.
The advantage of SR in the normal 45% scenario is that it caps DDR on its own so you don't need an expensive build to have 95% DDR like SD does, which will matter in situations like the ITF. -
Quote:Ayup, and now that you mention it I don't recall it happening when I left the game (I left because my old comp had an intel GPU that stopped being supported - with the ultra mode new code, my gfx went to bare minimum because the Intel patch targetted only one of the three Intel GPUs I know of, which was unbearable since the game didn't look bad before for an integrated gpu - and I only discovered that after asking in the forums to the tech NCSoft guy because they said the whole GMA 950 family would work with regular gfx again, so I was pretty pissed at the time).I, too, "lose" the cursor sometimes when things get hectic, so I may try the suggestions above.
On a similar topic, does anyone else have troubles clicking on NPCs sometimes? Whether contacts, merchants, civilians, or guards at hazard zones, I often find that -- despite my cursor being right on top of them -- I don't get the targeting box, and I have to move around on various parts of their body before I find the right hot spot and the character becomes clickable. Hazard zone guards are notorious for requiring that I click them below the belt, literally.
Sometimes it seems like I'm playing some sort of adult MMO instead of this teen-friendly game. :-)
After coming back I had many frustrating moments with the AE guy for recipe rolls, and this happens with other NPCs too, didn't bother me much because I don't farm often but it does happen and I'm pretty sure I didn't have this problem before. -
Quote:SD is really really good on a Tanker. I haven't completed mine, but look at this, tons of HP, regen, 47% res to s/l and 25% to the rest except psi. With a good build- and good IO investment, you should be able to cap your DDR. I have done it on my /sd brute and scrapper. If anything it should be easier to accomplish on a tanker, right?
Unless I were going for concept, there is virtually no way I would make a sr toon over a shield defense toon. That doesn't just apply to tanks, but to any meleer. Well, except for stalkers who got the /sd shaft...
I capped melee/ranged without barely trying and still got a ton of other stuff like regen and recovery and even good AoE (SD and Energy Torrent). The only reason this build has AoE at 42% is because it's MA and Storm kick gives +10%.
And except for 4 HOs this doesn't even break the bank, I could replace one oblit set with a purple on dragon's tail but 49.2% melee is nice to have because with one storm kick I get to the incarnate softcap. The DDR is only capped with Hasten on (which is still 90% of the time) because I wanted to slot things like max resistance on deflection that I couldn't on my fm/sd scrapper since the scrapper was harder to softcap. Anyway if I get to level her more I'll try to rework the build, but this shows how potent a moderately expensive build (cheap even by some people standards) can be for a SD Tanker.
