OK, team 8 V team 2 seems to be a bit unusual. Only Spyka actually showed up so that match was not fought.
Not sure if that means all 6 lose a life or just the 5 who didn't turn up? -
[ QUOTE ]
I think that was over on Defiant - there are some posts on the Defiant Villains forum about it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ahh, that'll explain it then as Philosopher is in Union Badgehunters but has toons over there. -
Well, the good news is that my two lives is/are(grammar?) correct
Seems to be a few discrepancies though. Just a suggestion but maybe if someone from each match can post what they think the result of their last match was in here we can see where the discrepancies are? This is a long and messy post but all the info is there and as long as one participant in each match posts if they won or lost, will be the easiest place to spot the mistakes. I don't mind updating the post as info comes in.
Here's the standings BEFORE the last round

Can someone from the other 2 matches post here saying if you won or lost? (9 vs 3 and 8 vs 2) -
Just a related post. May have been a wind up but on Monday night, someone said over the Union Badghunters channel that their team had just reached the last mission in the SF.
Think it may have been Far-Seer or Philosopher though it could be my drink addled brain. Anyone know anything about an attempt on Monday or am I going mad? -

This is so hilarious. And i think ppl are just plain lazy. Sign in, do the event and delete the account. Even if you havent had to do anything like that before, why is it so hard to try?. Seems like ppl just grabbing into the first thing they can, and start [censored]. Moxies have spent alot time organizing and designing this event and i have been thinking of giving my hami-o to the winner. But now, why would i?
And the whole martyr-attitude, please grow up. If you want to resign from the mox forums, please, be my quest but dont waste anybodys time by start singing about it.
And thats my 2 pennies.
[/ QUOTE ]
People rasied concerns in a polite manner(there was nothing rude in any of my first two posts or any of the others I saw until the sarcasm from the event organisers began) and questioned why it couldn't be signed up to on here like every other community event has been.
Instead of having those questions answered in the same manner they were raised, we got sarcasm and back biting.
As for giving E-mail addresses out? Anyone who does not understand hacked forums are one of the biggest sources of E-mail addresses for spam and 'phishing' really shouldn't comment on it.
People pointed out the sing up method would discourage casual players and got abuse for it. -
Just had this discussion with a friend in Sirens and think all these cries of ZOMG, Nerf are a bit OTT.
Hurricane's debuff is still bloody hard to hit through. I hit Build up with three to hit buffs slotted and fired off two attacks with two acc slotted. The stomry in question had no other real defence buffs apart from superior invis. Attmepted this 3 times and only hit once out of all six attacks.
Hurricane is still powerful. Trollers are squishies and should be hurt by melle builds that get hits on them and hurricane still puts paid to that so not sure how powerful people think it should be. -
OK, interest tonight was non existant with less than half a dozen of us so doesn't look like this will be returning.
-
Yeah, but it's a case of seeing if the Phase gives us time to get the PA's in place. It will be tight but if it's manageable, the tank team can get in place with the heal blanket.
The PA's are there purely for deployment If the phase allows the PA's to hold aggro long enough for the taunt team and healing blanket to get in, we're away. -
Muahahah, Bloodline has already beaten you to SG spotlight as ours went in last week.
Screenshost wise, came up with some good ones.
- Base meeting room with me standiing on the SG logo podium, banners all over, while the VG stood behind their seats at the meeting table, arms folded
- 2 Group pics in the ruined Atlas Park map from the last mission for your patron where you fight Recluse. One in VG costumes, one in normal
- 18 of the VG laying the smackdown on Caleb
One we did toy with but didn't use in the end was the last mission in the patron arc where you fight your patron. Not sure about the others but the Scirroco map for that was a pretty cool abandoned castle so feel free to steal that idea -
It's also situational which is why I don't like it. Yes, I do love the fact it allows you to cut through their defences so easily but it's an AoE in a set that is very single target oriented and aggro's like hell.
You already have a group slow in snow storm which is a toggle, not location specific and the set hardly needs the additional slow.
Location specific powers are also damn hard to use in PvP and it's tough trying to fit in all the required powers from the set. Sleet is the only one in that set I can do without and will always be my casualty in a build as it is situational.
Maybe if I was pairing it with fire blast for AoE output and had a self heal, i'd look a bit more favourably on it but when I had it in my build, I found I rarely used it in favour of spamming my holds and debuffs so respecced it out when I got my PPP.
In big teams it got me agrro and debt. Small teams and solo, the mobs were pretty much done for before the painfully long animation was over. On AV's/elite bosses I was spamming infrigidate, heat loss, benumb and bitter Ice Blast so had no breaks in my chain to hit the long animation.
The only time I really found it being used was in teams where we were spent the time setting up herds, which is infrequently.
So, my opinion of it, having used it extensively, is that I'd rather have a power i'm going to be using effectively all the time, than a very good power that only get's used in certain situations in it's place -
OK, for 24th July's Hamidon raid, I'm heading up the taunt team and need to pick out who's in. I'm looking for 4-5 other tanks and 2-3 regen scrappers. I'm just going to list some bullet points of what's needed. Ideally, we want a 'tick' against as many of those boxes as possible so when signing up, please just make a brief statement on which of them you have and anything else you have access to that may be useful.
General
- Must be willing to listen and follow orders.
- Must be prepared to stay until the end. If the raid is abandoned, it will be Babel's decision and I don't want people who are going to bail before that.
- High boredom threshold. Once we're in place and taunting, it does get boring. Team banter will be expected at this point to pass the time
Tanks
- Self Rez, preferably 6 slotted with 3 recharge reducs and 3 heals.
- Self Heal, preferably 6 slotted with 3 recharge reducs and 3 heals
- Taunt, slotted for recharge and taunt duration
- Epic hold slotted with 3 recharge(last 3 can be a mix of acc and duration. Team buffs normally cover ACC). These are Block of Ice, Fossilise and Char
- Vanguard accolade
- Side note, fire tanks(Rise of the Pheonix) and invuln(Dull Pain) are preferred but not enough to actually matter.
Scrappers
- Self Rez, preferably 6 slotted with 3 recharge reducs and 3 heals. Couple with resilience would be nice so no stun after rez.
- As many regen powers slotted with 3 heal as possible(fast heal, integration)
- Instant Healing, Dull Pain and Reconstruction slotted 3 heal, 3 recharge
- Either the scrapper taunt or leadership pool taunt slotted with 3 recharge and mix of acc/taunt duration(preferably duration as team buffs cover acc)
- Epic hold slotted with 3 recharge(last 3 can be a mix of acc and duration. Team buffs normally cover ACC). The only one available is Petrifying Gaze
- Vanguard accolade
Others
- lvl 50. We can SK people who are 45-47 if necessary but would avoid it is possible.
- TP friend and group fly are a real advantage for this. Please mention if you have them.
- Remember, no capes, no auras and we wear black
- Tray full of awakens needed for the night. Nothing else really matters. -
[ QUOTE ]
bout PAdrop, I'll see if I can do some testing one of these days and if I cant find a way to make em work I'll see if I can find an alternative aggro way
[/ QUOTE ]
Stage, would it be possible to summon the PA's then use the Warburg temp phase power to get them in position?
Also, any other temp powers it may be worth asking people to take the time to get? I'm thinking of the rad nuke's from warburg, used at a key point, could be useful.
Also Babel, I would prefer to have some regens in the taunt team. We limited it at 2 last time and they were important. Although the tanks all have much higher HP, the regens faster healing allowed them to stay up when the tanks all went down from 2 rapid attacks and keep the aggro. It just made the taunt team a little more flexible.
Not too sure about the empath in there either as we never had one last time, it was pure scrappers and tanks. Asking an empath to join the aggro team is pretty much asking them to spend the entire raid taking a dirt nap
If it's because of worries with regards to healing, don't worry. It'll be my job to make sure we're far enough from the rest of the raid not to get them caught in our aggro while still being in range of the healing blanket.
For that tan team, my preferred make up would be fire tanks. ROTP is the best self rez in the game and will give us several seconds to position ourself after using it. Ideally, I'd go for 5-6 tanks and 2-3 regens with taunt power. One team member with TP friend/group fly would be nice(prefereably the same guy with both).
I'm going to do a seperate post calling for taunt team applications. I'll see what response I get and can hopefully pick the ideal team. -
Err, the two people pointing out what we see as a bit of an issue, me and Silver Weasel are not part of 1 AT. They were just used as an example of other organisers who use these forums to organise events. Could have just as easily used the 3vP organisers.
Basically, in order to get people signing up, the best way for the community is on the community forums. Xanthus could have quite easily forced people to sign up for 3vP on his SG's forums, I could have got people to sign up for the recent Pentad tournament on my SG's forums and so on. I've never seen people required to register with another SG's forums to sign up for an event and it will discourage many casual players.
As for E-mail spam, plug in forums are hardly the most secure things on the internet and are a prime target for people wanting a list of spam E-mail addresses. You may not give them out but many people are careful of where they use their E-mail address, I personally try to put in on sites as little as possible, hence the dummy hotmail I used.
Yes, it is a MoX run event and you're entitled to do it your way, people were merely trying to point out the method most of your potential entrants would prefer. Hell, when I've organised events, an E-mail to me or a post on my SG's forums would have also been a lot easier for me but I chose the official forums to make it easy for the people entering. They're the ones who's benefit events are for and as the organiser, I expect to have to put all the leg work in.
Sorry for suggestion what I see as areas for improvement in your sign ups, I won't bother trying to help you in future and won't comment on this thread anymore. Can you remove my account from you forums please where I registered as Kinslayer.
Also, trying to organise any sort of community event IS hassle and you DO open yourself up to people questioning it as anyone who's done one can tell you. It's precisely for that reason I avoided doing more after the Pentad a while back -
Just one other note on this, we've found in past PvP nights that we never seem to get any Dominators along. Would be great if a few more can start turning up.
Also interested in seeing some MM's in action with the new Bodyguard feature. -
The problem with the empath/blaster team is that the empath is key to it all. Whether the empath has invis or is flying is irrelevant as they're both very easy to bypass... With teamwork.
Swap one of those blasters for a second empath or a tank to make the empath harder to gank and you're talking a whole new ball game however.
As mentioned, the real problem with some stalkers is their perceived 'uberness' when there are actually so few who are really that good. Stalkers can be split into two classes, those who can kill you thanks to hide and those who can kill you regardless of it they have hide available due to +PER.
The sad fact is the first group, any old fool can play with and do well, the second group are few and far between. -
[ QUOTE ]
But it does get you a whole lot more email addresses...
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is pretty much the problem most people are going to have. I signed up to it with a dummy hotmail account but can't see many people wanting to hand their adresses out to a site just to sign up for a competition when it can be signed up to just as easily on here. -
Cool, would be nice if they did as I can also see this becoming a good chance for people to organise raids now they are fixed
-
3 slotted combat jump/swift/hurdle is pretty quick and can do the job fine. Just don't go to the shadow shards
-
Can't people just sign up here?
The link you posted leads to an error as we don't have accounts there and don't think people will really want to sign up to another SG's forums. -
My main PvP toon is an ice/ice Corruptor and I can say without doubt that it is a VERY good solo PvP killer compared to other Corruptors.
You do have the squishiness most Corruptors have and and the lack of a heal can make it a bit less self sustaining than something like a thermal but that's a small price to pay.
Attacks wise, you're looking at the first two in the set and bitter ice blast as your only real damage output. Infrigidate, benumb, heat loss, snow storm... You're going to be spamming all these to bring targets to a halt before going in for the kill.
Freeze ray is also going to be your best friend and will account for a lot of kills for you. Slot it for rechage so it's up as much as possible and spamming it will help break mez protections on squishies.
Beware of SR scrappers as their resistance to slows will be a particular danger and spine scrappers will also be a pain because of the range. However, any other type of regen scrapper will hate you. Your slows will enable you to stay out of range, taking potshots at them while crippling their self heals. Still quite hard to put them away as end will normally run out before you can but you'll annoy them and unless they get the drop on you, aren't a threat.
Trollers are also a threat due to the lack of mez protection so try to hold them with freeze ray or end drain them with Heat Loss ASAP. Other than that, you can hold your own quite well as long as you know when to run. -
First off, Cold Domination is a great boss killer. It has some of the best single target debuffs on CoV and there aren't many powers from the set you'll skip.
Sleet is questionable as it will make mobs scatter which can annoy team mates. There are situations it's useful in but my opinion is you're better off taking something else. Heat Loss is so great it's unbelievable and one of the best debuffs in the game. It drains end and gives it to all around you as well the killer debuffs it applies. You also get some nice shields, a team mate HP boost and some other debuffs like infrigidate, snow storm and benumb(another powerful one)
As for what to go with it, fire or ice works well. Fire will give you some AoE damage while Ice will give you good single target damage and some holds as well as more slows to stack with the cold domination set.
Overall, Ice may not be as effective against mobs as some other sets but as a single target killer, it's one of the best in the game. It also has the added benefit of being pretty good in PvP
There's a good thread on ice/ice here
http://uk.boards.cityofheroes.com/sh...fpart=1#491802 -
One question, is this on Union or Defiant? I only ask as my VG on Union is called Bloodline and is one of the bigger ones out there.
Seeing the problems E.V.I.L(Max Powerz VG) and EVIL(the RP VG) have had with mistaken identity, may not be the wisest VG name
We've had enough trouble with people confusing our alt VG, Blood Pack, with another VG called Blood Pact! -
OK, I've just checked the figures and they do, IMO, show what a waste health is.
3 slotted integration/health/fast heal see's you recover 2.4 HP per second.
Dropping heal put's it on 2.1. There's no way that is worth a power and 3 slots for an extra 0.3 HP per second! -
[ QUOTE ]
along with Fast healing, Reconstruction and Health all fully slotted for healing
[/ QUOTE ]
No, no, no. I cry every time I see 3 slots wasted here.
Look at the regen rate from 1 HP to full without 3 slotted health on hero builder, then look at it with it. The benefit is laughable.
Anyway, back to the discussion at hand. Why are we even having this discussion? IH every time, without doubt or fail. The problem some people have with IH is that they look at powers like elude and think 'they're god like. What a great panic button or AV killer. I can still die with IH'.
Don't make that mistake. IH does not have the end crash or HP drop powers like that have, MoG is the regens equivalent of that(and a pretty poor one). IH is worth it's wait in gold in debt reduction but ONLY if you're disciplined enough to fire it up every time it recharges. IH stops you getting into a messy situation in the first place, powers like elude help you get out of messy situations and are last minute rolls of the dice due to their vulnerability whan they crash. IH has no crash and should be run whenever possible.
Tough is useful if you have noting else to take but certainly not a must have power and it was dropped completely from my regen build last time it got nerfed and has not even been noticed. The bonus it offers is OK but it's another toggle eating end and it's limited to just two types of damage. OK, I concede they are the most common types, except in the 40+ game but IH covers all damage.
best advice I can give you in situations like these is not to listen to forumites, for everyone who know the numbers and benefits there are three just regurgitating what they've heard with little hard evidence, but to take on board the opinions then go use hero builder to look at the numbers.
Also, as Schnyet ahs pointed out, 3 damage should be standard, your job is to kill so 1 or 2 accuracies in there(depending on FA/tactics and if you're going to PvP) is a must with a recharge/end reduc in final slot later on. Even PvP doesn't need 3 ACC!
