Those are great! I like the cat stuck in the tree. However did that happen?

Would you believe I insulted some lady in a mask about her choice of make-up?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would. Some of those ladies can be downright persnickety about critiques of their makeup color schemes. Sheesh!

    Those are great.
  2. There can be no waiting. We have no patience. We must have art now!

    j/k ;-)
  3. Oi, inspire you, huh?

Once upon a time, long, long ago...

    Nah...

Kheprera's background. So, there's a start. Something that's not mentioned in the story (yet) is, although she's immortal, she's never been in love and is still a virgin. Two sidekicks for the price of none (because there is no beast control). Original powers from conception include her being able to turn into a giant lioness, she has a goddess form with a lionine head and titanic stature, and when she flies, she turns into a scarab. Although she's an Emp/Psi in CoH, her full range includes wielding a khopesh sword as well as her Anubis staff, and instead of the nemes cloth headdress that CoH has, she wore the Vulture headdress.

So there are a myriad of ways for you to draw her. Purely in CoH form, or however you really care to.

    CoH Screenshots

My initial, pathetic attempt at her.

    *crosses fingers*
  4. Indeed, that is a lot of hair. My son was bald until after he turned one (then again, his hair is quite blonde).

She's a cutie! Hopefully, she'll sleep well through the night for you!

How is Big Sister dealing with her so far?
  5. Nice job! Both look good.
  6. *dances in the flames*

    Ohhh, toasty goodness!

It just goes to show your minitoons are hot! :-)
  7. These are really good!

I don't suppose there's any way I can be added to the que, huh?

    Art: Subjective?

Just because you don't have the same kind of skill as another artist, or even in their style, doesn't mean you can't judge their work. Could Picasso judge Monet? Could Rembrandt judge Dali? Could anyone judge Michaelangelo or Da Vinci? Who is to say "you are skilled enough, now, so you may now judge the work of others?"

I look at a piece and I either love it, hate it, or think it's the same as the last twelve I've looked at. I know what *I* like, so, I can judge for myself what I like. That doesn't make anyone else's opinion any less valid.

There is a lot of interpretation in art. It's like someone telling a friend of mine that her painting miniatures is not art. When you're blending, layering, and applying 2-D techniques such as Sky-Earth Non-Metallic Metal to 28 mm pewter figurines, and winning prestigious international awards for these figures, then it certainly is art. Even if you're not winning awards, it is an art form.

Some people are just arrogant in their linear thinking. I don't mean to be intentionally unkind, but statements like the above really irritate me.

    The Arena (WIP)

    Re: The Marvel Way

I bought it for myself, put it on permanent loan to my eldest niece, so I had to buy it again. For beginners, it's one of the books I highly recommend as it taught me a lot. When I start having problems getting something down, I go back to that book and get "back to the basics."

What amazes me is to know where I am, art-wise, and then to see such fantastic pieces like yours, Graver. Knowing the process you use from beginning to end, such as the basic blocking out of the figures, makes me believe there is a chance for me to improve as long as I put pencil to paper a lot more often than I do.
  10. We had similar thoughts, Graver. I saw this and thought "Hulk doesn't just smash anymore..."

It's good, though. Lots of action and movement.

    Added a Deviant Comment :-)

It's really looking good, so far.
  12. Nicely done! I can't wait to see the textures applied.
  13. Luis Royo is really good, I just wish he put clothes on some of his women and that some of them didn't look like they were posing for a trashy nudie mag. He has a really great style.

    I also like:

    Susan Seddon Boulet
    John P Wagner
    Erte
  14. Marc Silvestri takes commissions, but only for established characters (Batman, X-Men, etc), not for characters of your own design. He's also really expensive, beginning at $2K USD.

I'm sure if the others (who still live) take commissions, their prices would be similar.
  15. Congratulations! New babies are awesome, and they only get more so, but then you already know that!

Best to the mom and big sister, as well!
  16. Very nice. Have you considered posting on Deviant Art?

And if you need models, use Kheprera. Screenshots are in my scraps in my deviant page.

Gee, which comic do I own the most of?
  18. I live about two miles from a prison. There aren't any hitchhiker warning signs about. Granted, it's not Huntsville, more like the local county lockup, but it's pretty big.
  19. I haven't been here long, but I already know how appropriate that is!

And yet TA can add another to his collection.
  20. Okay, my husband will love those!

Whenever I hear her sing her travelling song, I can't get my husband's rendition out of my head...

"Vomit through your nose, come on everybody let's blow..."

    He's a musician, what can I say?

I think the correct term is...

    KAWAII!!

Sorry, it had to be said. You know it did.

Ok then for the group thingy ... why not put our heroes in a spa or something with drinks in hand to comemorate this event? ... hehe ...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Strategically placed steam, white fluffy towels, humidity-dampened hair...

    Yeah, I could see it.
  23. Well, I'll throw myself into the que. Why not?
