  1. It's been a long, long weekend for me. I didn't realize it's only Saturday. There's still Sunday to go.

Wow, silly me. So there's still time, in case you missed it.
  2. Just a few hours more!

Is there anyone else who wants to take a chance? You never know what might interest me.
  3. Keep them coming! I'm seeing some really good characters here, and I've been warming up my pencil (and erasers ) for this. Today is the last day!

Wow, lots of reading to do.

    The Kaiserin

Oooh, I like this. Very nice.
  5. Keep Austin Weird. :P

    Jeesh.

Although, I did vote for Kinky.
  6. Well, I'm not. And LA does bad things to me, like glue my eyes shut during the night. I seriously doubt I'll be going.

Besides, I'm going to ReaperCon in May. One con a year unless it's in-town.
  7. Stunning. Absolutely stunning.
  8. I think what they're seeing is a small "dip" in the upper part of the right breast (hers perspective). It's not a smooth line. Also, from the perspective of the drawing itself, it might be that the breasts are not the normal "defying gravity" style that everyone is used to.

Maybe she just doesn't shop at Victoria's Secret. :P

I really like this one, mainly because she doesn't look all "gravity defying."

    Another WIP

I know from experience how hard buckles are to do, especially multiple buckles all over the place. You've done a great job.

I'd hate to see him in miniature figure form, though. Then I'd be cursing every single buckle as I picked them out with my brush.
  10. Loving this one, Alex. You have such a wonderful dynamic with your drawings. Something I wish I could achieve.
  11. Thank you for not using Flash.

So many sites use Flash these days, and people don't realize that some work-sites block flash from playing, or won't allow you to upgrade it.

I also like the simple, easy to navigate system. I know it's a work in progress, so if I may make a suggestion: separate your artwork by years into various pages, maybe with a short blurb on how you feel you've improved since the previous year. It personalizes you to the reader.

I also like the background color. It's easy on the eyes without making the text hard to read. This is something to always keep in mind with web design. I still recall the days of the late 90's when everyone wanted "super-cool background images" that made text near impossible to read. Nothing I hate more than trying to highlight text so I can read a webpage.

I use FireFox, and, so far, I haven't had any problems with your site.
  12. Ugh, DJ, that sounds worse than what I went through. Guy who ran my webhosting joined the military, disappeared for a few months, never contacted me on monthly billing, etc, then suddenly tells me I owe over $150. I tried emailing him, etcetera, but he never contacted me. Finally we get something worked out, I get him paid, and it starts all over again.

Finally, the domain reg is up, and he wants to know what I want done. I want my domain name, but he "owns" it, so instead of the simple transfer, he drops it and makes me wait a month and a half in order to get it back again. In the meantime, I stood to lose a site I've had for over five years.

While it's not $500, and doesn't contribute to my monthly income, getting your site hosted through unscrupulous sources is a nightmare. And my host was supposed to be a "friend."

I should have known better. Never do business with friends.
  13. I was having long log problems earlier today, then the whole site went kablooey this evening. It's back, now. I dunno, now that I have my website back, I'm considering re-doing my gallery there.

    Drawing Tablets

Okay, that answers a lot for me, there. I may forego the tablet for now, as, like Aerones, I move my paper around, a lot. In circles. It's hard enough for me to see my monitor as it is (I sit about two to three feet away, on the floor), and I prefer to draw at my art table. I can see how drawing can be different, I just wasn't sure how much.

    Kheprera Moon

    *SQUEEEEEEEEEE*

    Wow. Great job!

It's actually very close to an idea I had for her that I want to do in pastel, but not exactly (just a few elements) so I'm glad to see this take on her. Wonderful.
  16. I'm just really glad to hear you got a new job so quickly. YAY!!

    Drawing Tablets

    So here's a question, then:

Is there a large learning curve in learning to draw on a tablet instead of the old-fashioned pencil and paper method? I've been tempted to get a tablet, but wonder if it's really something I'll use. I'm comfortable with my pencil, gum eraser, and pastels, but the idea of doing some things digitally interests me. I've been playing with Poser right now only to help me with getting poses right and anatomy correct, and clarify ideas in my mind.

The more I go digital, the more I like some of the things you can do, but I'm still a little old fashioned. It took me over 10 years to get a digital camera (professional photographer AND I also worked in the computer retail industry for some time, yet couldn't bring myself to take the plunge).
  18. He found me, but has yet to convince me to draw his character :P
  19. There are some buildings around with black windows, especially at night.
  20. Well, it looks like my work is going to be cut out for me.

Keep them coming, all. I'm interested in seeing what other characters are out there.
  21. How about this?

Take the number of people who put up screenies to be in it, divide by the number of months, and put that many characters into each month. More beefiness per month.

    The art SG ?

It was a freak happenstance. I've never seen Pally being built before. I logged on, was in KR, and saw the rest of the team. Said "hi," got invited to team, and started heading for the mission everyone else was already in.

Right outside the mission door, there it was, the construct with tons of level 7 clockwork. I let the team know, out they came, and we started wailing on the thing. Took a good while, but, as I said, it was a freak occurance.
  23. A new screenie I really liked: Take No Prisoners

That's one of Khep's alternate costumes, the one my husband *really* likes. I should do more screenies of it.
