  1. We got one of everything they had, which was pretty much everything. We also picked up a few others, so we walked out with over 20 comics and paid only $7 and change.

My son got his Spider-Man, and I found a few that were okay. The Transformers one is supposed to be a prequel to the movie (a reprint of the first of the four part series according to my husband, though). The Iron Man/Hulk was okay, but I'm just not an Iron Man fan. Never have been.

The manager/owner thought my son, dressed in a Spider-Man shirt and short combo, with Spider-Man style shoes (red and silver and cool looking), and a Spider-Man band-aid (no ouchie, he just wanted the band-aid), was the cutest thing ever.

We had a fun day, then I came home and watched the Kentucky Derby. Yet again I chose the winner. I really should start laying bets.

    test

And if your test was to see what we will respond to:

The answer is anything, even blank posts.
  3. And a blowtorch scares the snowman. :P

Give LJ a break. Those were some massive strips that were put out and are more than we normally see in the daily papers.

I prefer to savor my CoN over morning coffee, so Sunday is good enough for me.
  4. Well, there's the ex-cop Blood Masque, Broadsword/Dark Stalker. Tortured by Crey and left to die when she didn't pass muster for their tests, discovered by the Family and left in a viscous setup to make it look like she killed her partner, then used as a scapegoat, she finally cracked, was healed by a CoT mystic, used in daemonic rites, rebelled, and is now quite insane. That's the very, very short version.

Or there's Pyroclastic Flo, Fire/Kinetics Corruptor whose soul was devoured and replaced by the spirit of a volcano. Again, very short version.
  5. My husband made me watch that one. It's really really really bad movie, but funny, and egads...

    I'm scarred for life!

You don't want to know the next one he wants me to watch by the same people. I shudder when I hear the name.
  6. Take care of yourself and stop pushing so hard!!

While we love these, it's not worth pain.

We can wait. We may not like it, but we can wait and be patient.
  7. I recognized a few, but am too tired to bother right now, and really don't have time the rest of the week.

    Good luck, though.

Sad thing is, one of the ones I knew immediately was #11, and now it's STUCK IN MY HEAD!!

    Darn you, TL.
  8. My son is Taurus.

    I'm Scorpio.

It's going to be VERY interesting when he's a teenager.
  9. If I played that cartoon, my son would be pouncing on my computer. He loves Lazytown.

    SPORTS CANDY!!

    sorry.

    Happy birthday BW.
  10. Unbeknownst to the universe, the sub is really a subaquatic alien lifeform that is currently in it's larval stage.
  11. Kheprera

    Desperate heroes

So who are the other Desperate Ladies going to be?

    *curious*
  12. Happy birthday Rowr!!

Yeah, the comic creator thing sucks big time. Even if you increase it, you have to move the page around, but if you hold it too long or something (with the mouse), it gets stuck on the cursor and suddenly becomes unreadable. Going forward or backward in pages will not fix it, either. Luckily, I was able to read it.
  13. Ma'aseruat. It's Egyptian (go fig). In short, it means Lady Omen.

    Literally, Prophet Seer Great Lady.

It was my backup in case the name Lady Omen was taken.
  14. 1) For your main toon only, taking into account that you're high level and not at current SG levels, what is your namesake's origin and Archetype?

    Kheprera, Level 30 Emp/Psi Magic Defender .

    2) When facing the first mob of the room, or one of those giant open rooms with like 4 groups of mobs, what is your favorite first attack?

Psionic Lance. It's got awesome range (one of the longest in the game), and I three slot for damage, one slot interrupt and recharge each, and haven't decided what to slot for the last one, another interrupt or recharge, or do a range or an accuracy. I'll try and pull as few as possible, especially if I'm soloing or going duo with my husband.

    3) Please give me the name, what the animation looks like on your end, and or what happens to the mob when it hits them.

Here's a screenshot of what the attack looks like.

    4) What's your favorite/least favorite mob to face...

Fave: Circle of Thorns. I don't know why, but I just feel this insane desire to put the smackdown on them.

Least Fave: Hard choice. See, I don't have a 50, so I haven't really experienced any of the major villians yet. I'm going to have to go with the AVs though, as being my least fave. I went against one in a solo mission and had zero effect on them. Thanks again, Spino, for helping me with that one! Without his help, I would have never finished that mission.

Okay here's the thing, rather then me clicking on everyone's name and doing all this research myself, I thought I'd ask you guys some questions.

Your answers will most likely appear in some form in Friday's City of Nuts strip, or editorialized by me... so here we go -

    1) For your main toon only, taking into account that you're high level and not at current SG levels, what is your namesake's origin and Archetype?

    2) When facing the first mob of the room, or one of those giant open rooms with like 4 groups of mobs, what is your favorite first attack?

    3) Please give me the name, what the animation looks like on your end, and or what happens to the mob when it hits them.

For instance, my favorite is Foot Stomp, everyone in a 10ft radius goes flying!

    4) What's your favorite/least favorite mob to face...

    Thanks in advance!

    LJ

And here's a small snippet at Kilo's behest for your viewing pleasure...Crest & Kilo, CB & Soul

(I could have made this up as I went along, but lately I realize it's very important to not only get your facts straight, but to include as much personal realism to these toons as possible...)

I'll edit this later for completeness. Psionic Lance. Sorry about the triple post on your dA page, but dA is being a pain for me lately. 503 erros, 404 errors, and "not currently available" crud.

    So, sorry.

  18. Wow, Kilo.

I think I really need to sit down and draw.

    And paint.

    Argh!! I can't decide!

*levels a random alt on CoH*

And this is why I can't seem to finish anything.

You've gotten really good, Kilo! Keep it up!
  19. AAAHH!!! COLD!!!

  21. Ma'aseruat has never had art. Not one piece.

    Piccies

    Ma'aseruat, Dark/Dark Defender

    As in her ID:

From a distant planet, Ma'a-seru-at's small ship crashed on Earth during the Rikti invasion. At first mistaken for one of the invading forces, she soon proved herself a hero when she saved several children from a collapsed school buidling. A shaman-priestess and ambassador on her own planet, Ma'a-seru-at is used to being a part of the elite. her bizarre appearance on Earth, however, has ranked her in a place where she feels very alone. While she hopes for rescue, she has still worked to learn the language and culture of her new, if temporary, home.

    Additional Information:

Ma'aseruat held a lot of influence and political power on her home planet of Sava'ali. While diplomatic and always working to bring compromise between opposing parties, she still made enemies. One of these was a jealous rival who wanted not just Ma'aseruat's place with the reigning monarch, but her shamanistic powers as well. Unfortunately for this poor soul, she did not have the talent required to wield the magics and forces involved. Jealousy and envy led to rage and hatred, and sabotage.

A routine expedition to an outlaying colony turned disastrous when the navigation system ceased to work. Lost in the vast reaches of space, Ma'aseruat and her crew survived on limited rations at first, but when those ran out, they relied on Ma'aseruat's magics to keep them going. For all her power, weakened by hunger, Ma'aseruat could not keep the ship going on empty. Drifting, they found themselves grabbed by a strange, watery planet's gravitational force. Without fuel, the surviving crew tried to control the small ship through the atmosphere. The resulting crash killed everyone, except Ma'aseruat.

On Sava'ali, Ma'aseruat is survived by her husband and three children. She is believed dead by most, but her family still holds hope that she lives.
  22. *grabs panda and runs off with it*

*gets hit in back of head with cake*

Oooh, that's going to be tough to get out of my hair!!

*throws panda cake at random person*

    Happy Birthday!!!!

    *cake and icing covered hug*
  23. I use a variety of things for figure holding, from wooden thread spools, film canisters (which I have a ton of), to those plastic dice boxes you can buy some of the Chessex in. Pretty much whatever is stable and will hold the mini, but also dependent on size. If it's a CAV, then I have to go with the larger, heavier holders since those things are so heavy.

But, I also rebase them so I can get better effects. Railroad style flocking/grass/snow/water effects/greenstuff/sculptey, whatever works to get the effect I want. Of course, compared to some of the people I hang with, I'm pitiful.
