    Foo's Newest Art

Sorry, my husband wouldn't like it either. :P

Foo, I think you need a girlfriend.
  3. It sure looks like she does, or she's wearing a very tiny thong. Either way, BaB would be getting a clear money shot from his perspective, and thus distracted from the problem they are facing.

    I gots Arts!

LJ, you have kids. Are yours paid off yet?

I know I'll be paying on mine probably for the rest of my life.

...I thought BaBs looked a little too light-skinned as well to the point that, at first, I didn't realize it was him. He looks great, though, and I love the sneer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, at this point I'm writing it off to differing monitor gammas - on my system, he looks good. I used a stock texture and face morph to create his appearance, so any insinuation that I consciously lightened his skin is just silly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've looked on two different monitors, my laptop and my CRT. *shrug* I don't think you may have consciously done so, and it could be differing opinions of what the skin tone should be. It's still an awesome piece of work and BaB has expressed his liking of the piece.

And in the long run, it's the opinion of those whose characters they are that counts, is it not? The fact that I did not recognize who he was at first stems from me not being all that gung-ho about the iconic characters and even wondering if that was GW because of the different costume (I finally decided it was, but completely forgot that MS allowed for Heroes and Villains to team up, so it never dawned on me that BaB would be in such friendly terms with GW).

I'm loving Ferocious Florist. Almost reminds me of a Shadowrun character I had who was a florist.

    A funny Ha ha

It wasn't quite what I expected, nothing too shocking, and quite different.
  8. I had some thoughts, most of which would have probably earned me a severe admonishment from one of the forum mods and my post edited or deleted.

So I elected to go with something less risqué.

I thought BaBs looked a little too light-skinned as well to the point that, at first, I didn't realize it was him. He looks great, though, and I love the sneer.
  9. For some reason the idea of DB mixing hard liquor with a caffeine-laced energy drink scares me. It seems a second panel would be the both of them, sans the fire works and looking a little charred with DB looking sheepish.
  10. That's actually a little scary to think about.
  11. BaB looks truly awesome in that pic. I also like that GW is in her different costume. It's nice to see the icons wearing something a little different every now and then.

    *waves to BaB*

    Foo's Newest Art

Well, considering I have Starchasm, Graver, and Alex pieces that I'm waiting on, I'm going to have to wait until about October before I can consider adding anyone else to the mix.

Hrm... I might have to get Foo to do something for me...

    Opinions needed.

How about "The trusted source of City of information."

Find it on the Community Forums.

    Opinions needed.

Maybe a newspaper-ish background to show it as a "news" thing?

And a weblink to show people where to look for it, since not everyone who plays the game posts or reads the forums.
  16. Aww, you're just saying that, LJ

Not that I'll turn down free artz!
  17. Oh. *sigh*

I didn't know that. Goofy me for not reading much beyond these forums.
  18. I think LJ has opened himself up to doing Vanity Fair CoX.

But you know, I'm a sucker for stuff like this

Unfortunately the current skirt bug has kept me from taking screenshots of Khep's newest costume (switched the boots to thigh highs), but here's an older version: Kheprera

    Really long hair

    QR

Face it. Ghost Widow's "special cool costume thing" is her hair. That means that no matter how much we beg, we're not going to get it. Same for the Sybil costume. The "coolest" costume pieces (like Statesman's helm, GW's and War Witch's hair, Swan's Cape, and so forth) go to the iconic characters.

I've accepted this and just go with it. If I need a character image to show what I *really* think my character should look like then I get one of the community artists to draw her or do it myself.

I've managed a passable look: Kheprera

Sometimes you work with what you're given and you can find a work around. It's not my prime choice, but it works.

    Foo's Newest Art

Wow, you have some aweFoo (as in, I am in awe of the Foo) stuff there.
  21. Don't forget that a lot of the artists also band together on Liberty under the Envisionaries/Dark Envisionaries.

I need to play Khep on Virtue more and raise her at least to 10.
  22. *sigh*

I missed it, sorry. Had a long, long day and needed to collapse, didn't really get a chance to and still need to collapse.

    MMO ART?

I was actually wondering the same thing...

Juggy, Alex, and Darkjedi, and thats just a few of the commissionable artists that weren't listed. Alex has been pumping them out lately (getting ready for the baby due in about a month and a half) and even I relented and finally commissioned him so I could get his address and send him baby stuff.

    MMO ART?

    [ QUOTE ]
Well, maybe you can write it off on your taxes as a loss...

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, you can't. Just because you do not get services you've paid for does not mean you can write them off for taxes. The artist, however, does have to pay taxes on that money he made, in full, without any kind of loss involved because there was no product delivered, thus he incurred no loss for materials used nor postage for mailing the originals. Whether he has claimed these amounts on his Schedules C and SE are questionable, and I really don't want to know the truth because then I would be obligated by law or risk losing my job to report him.

The only recourse is to take them to small claims court (in which case you can represent yourself) to try and get your money back and make them pay court costs as well. If he is suffering from a medical setback, this could be costing him a great deal of money, which means he is unable to make refunds, which might also be affecting how much he can work (or even if he can), and causing him large amounts of stress which in some people can make them basically try and run away from their problems instead of confronting them and dealing with them.

When dealing with friends, especially someone who has been so good to the community, it's very hard to want to take them to court and risk losing that friendship or causing any more hardship that he will have to deal with. Also, if he doesn't have the money, it's going to be kind of hard to squeeze water from the stone. In that case, everyone loses.

I hope everything is okay with Gill. Just like I hope everything is okay with the other people I have commissions from. Haven't heard from them in a few weeks.
