This one too. It took me a few tries to learn to just put it waaaaaay far across my tray from the buff pet and Fortune.

  3. You picked an interesting time to join. With the recent Architect box drawing in a lot of new players and (not coincidentally) coinciding with a system that made it easy for anybody to get a character to the maximum level quickly, there are a lot more other new players around than usual... and also some vets who resent new players on the assumption that they're all people who took part in the fast-leveling craze and also eat babies. However, I'd say the vast majority out there are still friendly and even somewhat sane. If anybody accuses you of ignorance, just explain that you've only very recently joined.

That said, if you have any questions, feel free to toss them out. I'll hold off on bombarding you with guides.

I've found that stalkers can solo most low-level EBs easily by just pumping themselves to as close to the damage cap as they can get with red inspirations and doing an AS. If that doesn't kill them, it gets them within about five seconds of the end of their life.
  5. I totally used to farm customers for my 'gainfully employed' badge.

Nowadays I craft code instead. I'd probably make more just flipping it, but that gets you less accolades in the long term (even though I already have a laptop mobile crafting station.)

  7. I've been having them. About every other issue makes my video card drivers lock up during zoning. i15 was a no-lockup issue, so i16... Fortunately, they're not nearly as bad as they were a few issues ago.

Yes. Ow. Mine does awesomely on teams with some backup, but solo I depend on a constant stream of insps to be able to solo things that most of my other scrappers laugh at.

On the other hand, my Fire/Shield is also my only scrapper I've ever described as a walking nuke, so maybe that's the price I pay.
  9. Enjoying my Traps/ defender a lot more than I did my /Traps corruptor. I think it's mostly the defense vs. offense focus. On my defender, spending the first half of a big fight dropping Seeker Drones, Acid Mortar, Poison Gas Trap, Triage Beacon, and Caltrops is about normal. On my corruptor, all of that is 'the stuff I have to get out of the way before I can Full Auto.'
  10. Maybe enemy groups that have a focus on coordinated fire (I can see Nemesis or Malta doing this) that make the members of individual spawns all fire on the same target. A lot of things in this game start getting a lot more deadly if they're not spread out at least a little, particularly without a tank on the team. I think this would still fall in the 'tough, but not impossible with no tank' level.
  11. Had my /elec brute in RWZ, screwing around the other day. And then, a pylon shot me. I wasn't about to settle for that, so I charged the jerk and started beating on it. Since it was only doing lethal damage, I dropped few superfluous toggles to help my endurance a little.

After a while of this, I got bored and decided to go back to missions. I picked up a Rikti mission, ran in... and almost died to the first mob, having to use Overload to survive. I barely struggled through them, rested, and tackled the second. ... and almost died to them, needing Demonic. At this point, I was WTF'ing, because I'd been doing missions on this same difficulty for days, and only now were they hard.

Finally, I died. I came back to the mission and started fighting again, and found them to once more be a piece of cake. Only then did I realize what my problem was to begin with: I'd forgotten to turn my energy resist armor back on after I fought the pylon.

The Guide to Market Guides. There's an updated post with working links toward the bottom. I'd stick to the basic, starting out guides for now. You can make enough money for generic IOs and DOs rather easily with some patience on the market, if levelling doesn't provide it.

I'm a bit off topic, but still. Miffed! Psychics get all the attention!
It'd be nice to have some system that would control what you see for this sort of thing... but when I've tried doing it, it usually ends up a massive trainwreck.

"Psychics would sense that she has a mind. People who watch lots of TV would have seen her heroing! People with x-ray vision can see that she's made of metal. People with an acute sense of smell would smell that she's made of metal. People who would allergic to aspartame would note that she does not contain aspartame. Diving enthusiasts would note that her pocketwatch has the logo of a popular snorkel manufacturer on it. Diabetics would note that her dietary exchange is 1 1/2 carbohydrate. Take two doses before bedtime; inform a doctor if you have dizziness, trouble sleeping, or itchy wrists."

(however, the people who put aura colors in their bios still make me go 'buh?')
  14. I want to see somebody play a character to 50 with only Brawl as their attack power, never using any other power, even Sprint. That way, they can say that they hit 50 without ever burning a point of endurance.

My brutes (Fury!) and MA scrapper (Still has gaps in her attack chain at level 38 with every power from her primary!) still use the power, but I'd have to have a huge abundance of slots to ever put one in there.
  15. I am a wild rebel by joining PUGs with my cold/ice defender whose ice shields are still the original color.

A few times I've gotten tells asking me to join lvl 50 missions, I politely decline. Just me I guess.
No, me too. I'll pull out my 50s for missions at 50 sometimes, but if I'm losing powers, you can forget having me along unless I really, really want whatever badge the TF is doing. If I'm running at level 30, I'd much rather bring a character it's going to bump a little closer to level 31. I've always turned down teams on the grounds that I don't want to lose access to powers. I was doing it before it was cool.
  17. See, I like big missions like Atta, as long as they're not kill alls. It's one of the main reasons I do arc missions over newspapers when convenient. Anything that maximizes my 'killing stuff:everything else' ratio is a good thing.

I don't do blind invites though... so I guess I am better than that jerk.
Yeah, same here. I don't like having to ask unflagged people to begin with, but with about 0.05% actually using the flag, it's about the best way to form a team altogether. If the team's going slow enough, I'll take the time to scroll back and look for your name in my list of tells... if not, you're going to have to rely on my memory to not get asked again, and that's a risky proposition.

(Although asking people with search comments that say they don't want to team is just dumb. Don't do that, kids.)

This is pretty much the greatest thing ever.

And the omnipresent psychics who get in your head and pull out your life story while simultaneously making you their adoring lackey used to be way more common. These days, I haven't run into many of them, but the signs of their passing are still all over in the forms of these tags. Of course, half of these strike me as almost as godmode-y as the psychics. People on these forums have been pretty consistently saying the game's dying since about... the first day of beta. Being the ones with the most interests in the game also means being the ones who bawl first if they don't like how something looks.
