  2. My TA/Archery Defender is one of the few characters where I not only skipped Stamina, but didn't really feel any need to compensate for it with another source of recovery/endredux.

On the other end of the spectrum, my Rad/Rad burns through endurance like she's getting xp for killing it.
  3. And the destructible equipment that gives buffs/debuffs on lab maps.

[Spoiler Alert!] Of course, for those who have played the arcs, the truth is even worse than that. You spend 45+ levels as the fall guy who lets Recluse win without suffering a Pyrrhic victory, then you do your final Patron arc to be elevated to the status of valuable minion. At this point, he enlists you to help with what turns out to be a ***** size competition (the goal of the LRSF being to "publicly humiliate Statesman," which probably doesn't bother him much and which has no effect on anyone else, including Recluse). If you succeed--which you must do by various roundabout means involving stolen technology and literally asking for permission from the Freedom Phalanx--you are then awarded "Servant of Recluse" status, which apparently is the zenith of your career as far as the canon story is concerned.
This is pretty much my big problem with CoV as a whole. There are just too many points with 'you'd better do this or Arbiter Bob is going to tell on you!' Not to mention every third mission opening pop-up mentioning how great it is that this will curry favor with Arachnos for you. Heroes get to start saving the world around level 20; villains never even really get a glimpse at a chance of conquering it. I should point out, though, that the final patron arcs show you rising up to have an apoctalyptic war against Recluse in the future, and the very end of the arc has him basically go 'Fine, you're your own villain, no longer beholden to me.' I'd much prefer to be my own villain from, oh, level 1, but eh. It's something. Several of my friends have told me that this was one of the coolest moments in the game for them, so maybe I'm just picky or something.

Ohhhh yeah, they're out there. Not nearly as common as they used to be, but I still see them on a near-daily basis when I'm running on a lot of heroside PUGs.

    As an aside:
Heroside, I basically agree. Villainside, I almost always put off mezz protection to the 20s. There's very, very little in the 1-20 range that really has much mezz for villains, apart from the occasional Lost newspaper mission. Those few things that do have it are usually trumped by keeping a single Break Free on hand.
  6. 50 Stone/EA: I found /EA entirely underwhelming survivability-wise, but unlimited endurance was very nice and the knockbacks/mezzes in Stone/ made up for it quite well.

50 Dark/Elec: A good all-arounder, though she feels a bit more like a very angry scrapper to me. One of my very few characters to run on x8 difficulty without IOs, and then the Energize change just helped.

25 Claws/WP: I'm still deciding how much I like this one. Claws is fun, but WP is so boring.

    Stamina?

It's very nice for most characters if you don't like waiting to regain end. Note that this is a personal preference and some people never take Stamina at all. Also note that if you can get a recovery power from your character's powersets (like Willpower has), those are usually better than Stamina.

I made a midlevel villain arc to try doing something about that problem! ... and then I found out that it completely wouldn't work for about 70% of the game's population due to how Family spawn and gave up. Freakin' AE.

I keep meaning to make a replacement for it. I have a character I'm trying to level solely on AE story arcs, and I started noticing the supply of them decrease once I hit the mid 20s.

Heavy dose of arachnos and snakes gets old. Maybe it gets better later in the game, but from the beginning it gets old fast. For me anyways.
Snakes disappear fast. Unfortunately, from about 20 up, a huge portion of missions in the game are against either Arachnos, Longbow, or CoT.

At the same cost, if it has to be. I don't need or want a box.
Can you use PayPal for it? If you just transfer from one account to the other, the only one you have to give your credit card information is PayPal itself, which is about as trustworthy as these things come.

That's how I like to play, I rather worry about my HP than endurance, because not being able to hit the enemy with everything I've got makes me feel weaker than I could be.
This. I now play every character like I play my Brutes: If there's still something alive, I attack it with extreme prejudice, with the best attacks available to me to do so. Said attacks all contain the equivalent of 1-2 endreduxes. If I'm low on end and I have a blue (and I usually buy a handful prior to missions), I pop that. If I'm low on end and I have three insps to combine, I make a blue and pop that. If not... well, rest time. Only if the character can do entire missions like this without pausing for breath do I consider skipping Stamina. Even on those, I'll usually pick it up, since those three inspirations I'd turn into blues would be much more interesting as reds or purples, and there are only rarely three really good alternatives anyway.

I get Stamina for the same reason I upgraded my dial-up to broadband: waiting sucks.

As I remember, their teleport is basically short term phase shift + super flight. Instead of clicking the place you want to teleport to, you manually fly there while intangible and then reappear. In my short experience with it, I was strongly torn between '... this is pretty stupid' and 'It's nice being able to teleport around obstacles without finagling my camera to find a landing zone first.'

Oh yeah, I forgot Devices. Its whole 'you can win practically any fight with enough setup time!' thing is interesting, but doesn't appeal to me in practice, since about 90% of the AT/powerset combinations in the game solo too slowly for me already.

To be fair, the only things I can think of that have come out since CoV that weren't mirrored on both sides were the villain 40+ content and the Faultline revamp. After GR, I'm kind of hoping we get a few issues with new unique content for both sides.
  21. Sonic Blast: I hate the graphics. I hate the sounds. I hate the way it has three control powers instead of at least one more damage power. Ironically, if Shockwave were swapped out for a good AoE damage power, Shout animated a bit more quickly, and I liked the graphics/sounds, it would probably be my favorite blast set. It's like they made the set specifically to tease me with the thought of what it could have been.

Stone Armor: Looks ugly, and gets self debuffs to all the fun stuff too!

Super Reflexes: Passive defenses are anathema to my playstyle, and well, it doesn't get any more passive than this.

Sets with literally no AoE: Multiple Stalker primaries, I'm looking at you. Melee sets with a single cone are very close to this territory, but I'll try one now and then.

Empathy: I hate short-duration ally buffs, but Empathy is the only buff set with them where I just can't avoid the things.

This right here is my big problem with villains right now... If I play two heroes in a row, one can do normal missions and one can hit Faultline->Striga->Croatoa->RWZ. My two villains, though, are stuck doing the same 3-4 contacts per level range that I've been doing forever.

... and yet I still spend 70% of my time v-side, because it's still better than doing newspaper missions ad infinitum where my team absolutely must have a tank and a kin and a healz0rs to even fight -3 Skulls.

This kinda sorta exists. Channels have descriptions, and you can search for them:

Add to it the Fed-Ex missions which make me want to just do police scanners rather than run three zones over to talk to someone and be sent three more zones over yonder. As a result, the early game mission arcs go largely unplayed by me which is kind of a shame. I haven't fought Dr. Vahz for years...
These pretty much sum my feelings up, especially the first quote. Most sets don't really start developing their unique features and coming into their capabilities until the 20s, so that's when I really start to enjoy them. ... of course, by the low-mid 30s, most ATs no longer level quickly enough solo to keep me interested. So there's this 10-level band where I really enjoy soloing!
