In that the way I understand it used to work (piling up many smaller bonuses over time) was less effective in click powers, as it only activated the IO once, and only got the one small bonus for a limited time. Now it appears that the IO just hands out one big bonus, which may or may not be better for auto/toggle powers, but is damned useless for click powers, because it only lasts 10 seconds.
Wow, only 10 seconds? Might want to send a PM to Castle and ask if that's WAI. I could see 120 seconds like the non-combat procs, or make it like the Psi resist portion and have it act as a set bonus.

(I have not tested the duration of the effect when used in a click power; I'll only even slot it in an Auto or a Toggle power.)
Hmm, just checked this after I posted and noticed the change to full "20%" immediately and thought there might have been a change.

It's better for the click powers at least.

  4. Radio mission ambushes are finally fixed! woo! I've been bugging these since .. well, since they were introduced, as the paper missions always had them. The only thing I could figure is that the kidnapping villains on the hero side weren't as 'on the ball' as the villain-side kidnappers.
    (or Devs hate villains ):P
  5. A great resource page to check for those special IOs: procs vs global is here:

    Table of Special IOs
  6. Edit: The power no longer works the following way as of I17 -see following posts. TY for the heads up Derangedpolygot:

Found the description of how the power works in a guide I was reading when I chose to slot it:

    Quote:
The Psi Resistance is indeed always on, but the amount of resistance it gives depends on your AT. It uses the normal Resistance buff AT modifier, so Tankers/Controllers/Defenders/Masterminds/Soldiers of Arachnos get the full 3% Psi Resistance, Dominators get 2.55% Psi Resistance, Scrappers/Kheldians/Brutes/Stalkers get 2.25% Psi Resistance, and Blasters get 2.1% Psi Resistance.

The status resistance however is neither 20% nor always on. It actually gives a 5% resistance upon activation, and this bonus stacks with itself up to 5 times. In other words, the first time the power is activated you get a 5% resistance, the second time it is activated you get a total of 10% resistance, and so on. After the 5th activation you have 25% resistance (the values are reset when you zone).

In a passive/toggle you reach the maximum status resistance after about 40 seconds, but in a click power the resistance you get depends on how often you use the power. Slotting the Aegis into something like Unstoppable will of course result in a very slow build up of status resistance, and if you don't use the click power you don't get any status resistance at all
  7. I have it slotted in my Charged Armor on my blaster, and the Psi resist is treated as a global (always on even if the power is not), but the Mez resist builds up over time when the power is turned on to a maximum of 25% reduction (81% mez duration).
  8. I've noticed the change to Trolls, and the cloaking device on KoA's has a serious defence now too: "Deflected Deflected Deflected.." (and yes, I checked the last chance to hit and it is significant now compared to the previous version. It's possible that previously the defence suppressed when they attacked but it no longer does.)

Had the same dismissal bug with my mercenaries; they died rather than saluting and running off.
  10. Radio missions will spawn ambushes, but how a level 35 ambush got to Faultline is the hard part.
Maybe accept a lvl 35 radio mission, then head to Faultline via SG beacon to team up with a lower level team but ambush is already spawned at level 35?

Because that's what this forum is for; for players to discuss issues. Part of that process is if someone notices a post is about a feature that may not be a bug, or a feature that is working as designed or intended, or asking for clarification.

The forum description from the top of this very page:

  12. Checking the server status page shows Virtue is down.
    Were you on Virtue?
  13. On the news page about the new Dev Diaries (http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/new...v_diaries.html) Dual pistols is referred to as "Duel" pistols:

"First check out Nelson Tam's article on Massively where he talks about the creation of the Duel Pistols powers that you enjoy wielding so masterfully in-game."

In fact, the CoH Titan site has the newest CoH/V build planner, Mid's Planner. Download it, and then install it as an administrator.
I think you are confusing the cityofheroes.wikia.com site with paragonwiki.com.
paragonwiki.com is the coh wiki on the Titan network.

  15. I see the Stun Duration regular IO recipes available at worktables under the "Stun" section; all levels (villainside on Freedom FYI, but the invention database is the same all servers / both sides).
Make sure the filters are all off (-> the "Hide" menu at the bottom right of the window).

If you mean enabling dual core (the -renderthread flag) then the game has it enabled by default for a while now. If you still want to force it, here's the section at ParagonWiki: CoH Not Using Dual CPUs

    Quote:
    CoH Not Using Dual CPUs

Dual core processors are becoming extremely popular, however CoH doesn't always detect and use both processors (and this is especially true in Vista).
CoH is supposed to detect the dual processors automatically but that code is currently buggy. May as well put it in yourself and force the issue. Even hyperthreading processors can take advantage of renderthread!-Zloth
Correcting this is similar to the Missing Pointer fix above.
    1. Right click your desktop shortcut for the City updater.
    2. Select 'Properties'. Make sure you are in the 'Shortcut' tab.
    3. Select the 'Target' field. It should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe"
    4. Add -renderthread 1 to the end of the target, so that it looks like this: "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -renderthread 1 If you have installed your game to the default location, you can copy and paste the line above into your target field.

Seems as though he or someone else may have come up with a way to do it. So, here it is.

Castle, would it be possible to have the option to either auto-accept always or auto-deny always? Leaving out the prompt option? It's still not perfect, but maybe a better compromise.
That's a question for the engineers; it's not something the powers system can deal with, currently. I'll pass the suggestion along.

  19. You can also find them during the day along the lakeshore, where the Misty Wood zone arcs across to the lake in the NW.
  20. I'd like to see the return of the Tabitha Fabish Magic store signs in Talos Island and Independence Port.
They were changed to swinging "El Super Mexicano" signs when Physx was introduced, and then [incorrectly?] replaced with "Pandora's Box" signs. The employees inside are still referred to as "The Mystic", "The Seer", etc. and not "Pandora's Box employee", so I would think this was an oversight.

Hunting missions shouldn't be affected if by that you mean "Defeat X Baddies". Only sub-tasks within missions should be affected by this change. If it were to be the case, however, please let us know so we can get it fixed.
  22. Are there not 3 tiers of Jetpack recipes, like there is with the St Louis and Hand Grenades?
For example, I have 2 Hand grenade recipes on a level 50 character that was doing flashbacks: one costs 2,500 to craft and uses tier 2 salvage, the other costs 10,000 inf and uses tier 3.

Edit: Just checked the markets, and there are 3 tiers of Jetpack, the lowest tier costs 2500 inf to craft and uses tier 1 salvage.

    Nav Malfunction

Using /stuck has always reset the Nav point for me when it gets bugged during Seer Marino's arc.
Just move away from the incorrect Nav point and type /stuck.

Anyways, its not a huge issue because of all the free tailor tokens that I hoard, but if someone could look into this I'd be grateful.
This was a bug with Issue 17. Any characters logged in after Issue 17 went live had all power customizations removed in all costume slots except for the first costume slot. They've removed the bug causing the erasure, and given out free costume tokens with the patch on May 12.
Of course this means re-doing all of those power customizations, so I've taken to saving each configuration now as I go through and fix them.
