Great post Greymist! Hmm, since you asked for feedback, the only thing I see is that for someone with legs as big as TA...his butt is to small. Obviously, he has those big armoured pads on his thighs...but I still think they give the appearance of massive musculature in the legs. I think that should probably be balanced...especially in that pose...by a bit more in the tushie.

Well the inlaws are gone and now I can get back to doing what I want. Here is a portrait of my main Julius i did this morning. It was penciled free hand then inked and colored on photoshop. If you look close its pretty rough, but i'm, happy with it.

I'm getting better and better at photoshop, but i think my pencil work is still better:

I agree that your pencil work looks better then the colored piece. Your coloring has a ways to go to stand up to that exceptional linework. To much of the detail gets lost. Have you tried doing your coloring in additional layers to ad more variation in shading? Obviously you have been sketching for quite a while. Digital coloring takes time to do...and photoshop is just so difficult to figure out. Please keep posting because I really like your stuff!

I can see how you were going for a flying up towards the viewer perspective...and it does ad to the depth of the image, but if you want to exagerate the figure that much...I think you should exagerate the background as well...you need to really exagerate the shrinking of the background lines down near the feet. They should almost merge at a point down near the bottom left of the picture so that the perspective in the figure and the perspective in the background you used match.

Your figures and perspective really are improving. I like this piece. The back leg and arm have a bit to much foreshortening on them based on the perspective in the rest of the picture. They almost get the impression you might have if you were looking stright down at the top of a figure who was flying at you...with an exagerated perspective to suggest speed....right in your face!
For a more traditional angle I think if you go with a bit less perspective and more basic figure ratios the overall look will improve.
But again, this piece is much much better then ones you were posting just a few weeks ago. Oh, and my comments come from an art appreciator...not someone with any real skill...so take them with a grain of salt and as they are intended...as constructive criticism. -
Hey, I know what we should do...for someone seeking a sample of every artist who posts on these forums...we can just direct them to TA's webpage! Donel.
-
Hmm, the art from MMOART is from just one person, Jomaro. His wife, Nakiesha is an artist who handles a good portion of the business side but doesn't do this type of work.
Your comments make me think you might have been talking about the Guildhelper group. They do some great work...but I can't tell from their site who is actually doing what. Although I agree with you that while their original selection was limited, there offerings lately have be fantastic.
I am not sure I could nail down to many of our regular artists with just a line or two. Personally I just love the smorgasboard of art we are privileged to enjoy.

So here's a peek at my sketchbook... it's usually as scatterbrained as I am...
Sighted, Maulgar, Thor's Assassin, Assassin of Thor, Jayson Pyre, randomness...
Bayani and Sayterra
If he ever said anything smart-alecky she'd prolly end up decking him, but she looks amused enough...for now.

Hey, don't lump me in with that group. I don't have a problem! I can stop any time. -
Yep, but not until people started using them.

Congratulations to all of you. Looks like the floodgates are open and the 50's are pouring throuh.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, hopefully people will start to use this thread instead of making a new one everytime. Not that every new 50 doesn't deserve the recognition of a new thread, but since they prune our forums down everyweek, we could save ourselves lots of room for other threads if we combined all the announcements here.
Oh well, it will catch on or it wont.

There were times when the mitos had less range that you could get close enough to pick a mito and then tab through them and count. I remember several people getting mito counts over 180 on a couple occasions when we thought there were less heroes then that. I don't think it was ever proved one way or another on Justice. However, by that time everyone had already bought into the "conventional wisdom" that there is a mito for each hero+pet. I would assume this information may have been gathered by one of the smaller SG teams that used to beat hami on a couple other servers when the numbers would have been much lower and easier to compare.

Gill is amazing. You wouldn't believe how fast he did the pencil pieces of Feral Kitty! Honestly, you wouldn't believe me. And he did drafts!!

We should probably make them both sit in a corner and make some art until they can learn to get along. -j/k
Just as long as they both keep posting it for us all to enjoy. -
