You know...this whole post could have been typed up before and then only posted on a time delay AFTER your death.

Yeah, I seem to remember that. But you must admit, it wasn't much of a circle.

1) There actually are some nice benefits to having a large well stocked base. The problem of course is that to have a large well stocked base you need to join a large, well established group...which not everyone wants to do, and the base editing is not designed so that a large group can take part.
2) It is funny that after State's acknowledges that there were some flaws on how they designed and implemented the base system...that people are still attacking him on his semantics. Folks, this is why State's doesn't post as much as he used to! He is the designer...not the PR guy. "Real value" vs. "Percieved value"...blah, blah. In a sense, it is ALL percieved value. It is a video game after all, there is nothing real here. He knows what he is working on is a game and entertainment. Therefore what is important is what is percieved by the players. In a sense, the percieved value of a base is really all that matters. State's knows this. He says they didn't design it well. Now you want to beat him up because of the words he used? Give me a break! -

Long and the short of it, while there are some small PvP thingies getting some attention (like _Castle_ posting about Brute Fury in PvP a few days ago) there are not any big PvP issues on the nearer term feature lists.

That is the best thing I've heard from a redname in a goodly amount of time. No offense to the PvPers, but imo the devs have already invested way too much time in what is at best a minority interest.

I'm offended. Suppose a red name wrote they won't be spending time on badges (minority group) or bases (another minority group)? We all have opinions on what we'd like the devs to spend time on, but I think it is absurdly rude to come into the PvP forum and essentially kick all the PvPers in the head when a red name has just told them that they don't matter.

The intention of my post was not to dash all hopes of any change in PvP, but to help illustrate why those changes hadn't been a hot topic with design. I know that a lot of their time, when it isn't currently spent getting Issue 8 out the door, is working on some of the very broad and exciting stuff coming in issue 9 that will add a lot to the game over all (inventions + other goodies).
I do really like the suggestion about trying to re-use the old event where everyone got a level 40 on Training Room to come PvP with. That sounds like it might have some good broad appeal and make for a pretty darn fun weekend. Of course, I haven't investigated it with the dev team and it might not be possible, but still a good idea to follow up on. Besides, I'd like to play a few different Archetypes myself at lvl 40 with a hord of other folks to blast at or along side with.Let's try and focus the discussion on things we can do under the current systems?

I think Lighthouse is learning how touchy some of our forum posters can be. Welcome to the madhouse. Just keep in mind, it is better that the members be passionate nutjobs then for them not to care. -
Great stuff PlasmaStream!

I think the idea would be more along the lines of the proposed "Global" SG list Posi has hinted at, where a person can put all of their toons into one SG if they choose, but only actually occupy one "slot" as far as the game is concerned, seeing as how only one of those characters can be on at a time. You could still belong to multiple SGs if you wanted, but you could also have all of your characters contributing to the same sg at the same time as well. This would benefit pretty much everyone - the small sgs would be able to maintain all their characters in one place, and larger sgs would be able to allow all their members in the same sg without having to branch out in 8 directions and do more clerical work to keep things focused than a lot of RL jobs. It's true that smaller sgs shouldn't be punished for preferring a tightly knit, small group, but larger sgs shouldn't be punished for having a large, active playerbase either.

Ohhh...there it is.
I didn't say I didn't recognize anyone. I recognized about half of them.

Tuperware party! No wait, heroes at a bar. Heroes at a laundromat?

Great looking piece!
But, um, I don't recognize everyone in it.
Could someone maybe give us a list of who is who?
