Yikes, Mechano's page is really really outdated.
-
Good grief, those are so not 30 minutes worth of art o_o
'fess up, you spent two or three hours on each! -
Absolutly, hug everything that moves, that's my advice.
More seriously though, empty air emoting very rarely brings dividends. Five minutes of saying hello and introducing himself to people are worth an hour of sharpening a sword/smoking a cigarette/watching the sky. -
If you have the time/energy for a Lea I say go for it ^^
-
Bwahahaha!! Hilarious and well done
-
Pfft, I'm half offended Lea wasn't remembered
Granted, she'd hug the guys first and then put them down. Or not. She likes men. Pity there's more kids around than men ;p -
I doubt it'll create havok, but I'm, and thus Lea as well, taking a week's vacation starting today. I'll be back next sunday.
-
I feel like I'm in the minority here but I side myself with those who don't understand the importance of making a super uber character.. who can't back it up in game, thus forcing elaborate artificial (sometimes flimsy) excuses on why face planting happens... or why a friendly arena match ends up with severe and repeated beatings.
In the Cage Fight thread someone said something on the lines of 'I'd participate but I can't explain why my (implied IC uber) character would get beaten by a broad sword wielding midget straight out of Atlas' or something to these lines.
That pretty much exemplifies my feelings. I'm a firm believer of *downplaying* a character's strengths, of saying Lea's just a tough old cat and then let the super duper characters decide a reason why they were unable to put her down.
S'okay, I accept the 'she looks cute, I didn't want to hurt her' excuses.
But yer, joking aside one of the reasons I'm leery of playing Lea scrapper is because being tough is such an integral part of Lea. In fact the armor Lea tank wears is annoying me in the sense that it makes it look like she depends on it for being tough, even if IC wearing it makes perfect sense since she is not invulnerable and no one likes being cut, bruised, shot, zapped, burned and frozen even if healing it off in the next seconds.
I might ditch it for a impervium mesh or something like it, except I liked the RP before, during and after getting it since it involved all of the White Cats and, IMO, it was really well played. -
Lea would fight it, of course. Slavery is something she's dead set against and I think she'd be able to resist being controlled, depends on the level of power being exerted against her will.
But she's just a tough old cat (ok, a very tough old cat) with nowhere near Thor levels of power. To be honest I'm not sure where she'd sit in power levels considering she's multi-faceted and not a straight out power-house.
Anyway, kudos to CB. Despite the rather agressive answers he got to his perfectly innocent question he was polite all the way in. -
Clicking on the links sends me to the old videos you made of the first gladiator event in which Lea participated.
-
Ach, pity that the cafetaria date was set for thursday or friday. Had it been wednesday and I would've tossed in a Lea.
-
((Very nice, would all RP be this good))
-
Character taking part: Leandrea (the tank version)
Level: 50
When available: 7 PM, week-ends. -
Once I got around 40 and slotted DP a bit better I decided to skip Stamina altogether but keep Aid Self. DP feeds AS, AS keeps the ickle blaster alive.
I've removed my slots from Ice shield because it seems so bleah to my unexperienced eye. 15% defense to smash, when coupled with nothing else at all doesn't seem to be worth the slots. I shifted them to Brawl (don't laugh) for a bit more damage.
Any ideas and tips are welcome.

Greetings.
I've never played a blaster to a high level before so I'm a newbie to them. Having recently attempted a archery/MM I've found that I quite like the rain of death it can churn out.
Due to my newbishness to blasters I'm porting my build over for nitpicking.
In ways it is a cookie cutter build after having perused some of the other blaster builds with MM, but I've added my own touches.. namely.
Drain Psyche. A regen that comes up every 42 seconds isn't enough for HP though even now, unslotted, it does well for endurance recovery. As such instead of the traditional Doctored Wounds I went with Efficacity Addaptor. I took Aid Self instead to heal myself every 7 seconds and use Drain Psyche to fill up my endurance bar if it dips too low what with the aid self and spamming of attacks.
With the recharge times I have enough cones to spam during the BU window. In a team with a tank I think it's possible to do Concentration + Aim + Fistful + RoA + Fistful + Psychic Scream. As such Exploding Arrow would not be needed.
I was undecided between taking Psychic Scream or Exploding Arrow, but the KB in Exploding decided me as I really don't like it, though it is good for soloing.
As for the epic pools I am, again, undecided. Snow Storm seems like good mitigation (kite everything, though a ranged boss/EB will probably have my lil blaster for lunch), the defense shield seems verily sucky (16% defense? Say what?) and Hibernation strikes me as a good panic button up every 75 seconds.
I have around 27% accuracy in bonuses and around 43% in each attack, which gives me about 70% plus the archery's bonus. 25% damage in bonus sets as well.
So, I think I've worked in mitigation via snow storm + stunning shot. Self-healing via aid self + hibernate. Endurance recovery via DP. A good chunk of damage + accuracy + recharge via bonuses + hasten. Maxed HP via bonuses + accolades.
Will one -KB Karma in CJ be enough or should I just remove the LOTGs in the ice shield and put a Karma and a Steadfast there?
Self contained lil blaster, I hope. I say this because sometimes I enter a team and there's no healing, or no tank, or no debuffs so being able to take care of myself seems like a good idea.
Any ideas or it's good as is?

Unfortunatly though I believe in you I ended up scrapping the ice/mental and making an archery/mental.
The icey one wasn't quite quite working out but the archery been good fun so far (26). Died a fair number of times so far, but far less than my attempt of making a spines/DA scrapper.
At 26 I got me Aid Self which should help with survival ^^ I'll be posting my build on another thread to get some ideas. -
I think you are answering the wrong person
My blaster is a ice - mental.
-
I'm all for that. My blaster builds, for all its flaws, are exclusively ranged. Even though I've heard the argument that it is gimping a blaster by not taking the melee powers I reckon that if I wanted melee I'd be playing a scrapper, whilst if I'm on a blaster then it's long range I want.
-
I've tried defenders a few times but I do loves laying the damage, even though I squeal with joy when I have a good defender on the team.
To be honest it's a toss up between the blaster I've mentioned and a cold/sonic defender. I do a fair bit of soloing when teams aren't available, so something that can solo interests me. The cold/sonic seems good, the debuffs certainly help in keeping safe and are useful in a team while helping with the damage.
But I couldn't come to the blaster forum and say I was torn between a blaster and a defender :>
Even though I just did <_< -

Blaster damage can't be directly compared to scrapper damage; it's dealt in a completely different way. Blasters, at their peak, are tiny islands in the middle of a battle that radiate pain in all directions. We tend to giggle at scrappers as we defeat whatever he's running towards, so he has to turn around and run after something else, while we just carrying on firing out or most powerful attacks at whatever catches our eye. AoE's, cones, multiple build-up powers, plus plenty of control (especially in Ice) makes us strategically diverse enough to cope with most situations.

A very informative post and one that does push me to keep on trying blasters. My only nitpick is that though it's true that my scrapper runs to mobs only to see them defeated before she gets there, on the other hand in a mission I've observed a 'normal' ratio of five blasters deaths per one of hers.
Of course this changes based on power set and individual skill. And of course as well that very sheer squishyness is what may appeal as challenge, to reduce said deaths to zero while still spraying death. I played with a fire blaster once and I think he didn't die a single time while still dishing out the AoE goodness that fire blasters are famous for.
I'm going down on the safety list. My only high level characters are tanks. I've 'downgraded' in safety to a scrapper, might go for a blaster then, but I really don't like faceplanting. Scrappers might be a middle ground in that, but I do tire of said running to mobs and always be in the thick of the enemy debuffs. -
I've never played a blaster to high level so I was curious to know if someone could point me a rough estimate of the damage a level 50 blaster puts out in their ST blasts.
For example, my current Fire scrapper against +1 romans and at level 44 does something like, 170 with Cremate, around 270 with Incinerate and roughly 240 with Greater Fire Sword (DoTs not included), all three attacks fitting seamless when Hasten is up.
Fire Sword Circle I've not payed a great attention but it does around 160 again without the DoTs.
I say this because I'm getting a bit tired of melee (haven't had a single ranged ranged character barring a long deleted level 39 ice corruptor) but the squishyness of blasters puts me off.
Granted, I never actually passed level 20 with one, but the lack of survival, mezzingness and going from alive to dead in a few seconds if a spawn turns against me never conspired to help me level one up.
I'm trying a ice/mental at the moment, level 12 bless her, and the same old problem carries on with five deaths in ten minutes of teaming (lets not get into a full bar of endurance being used per fight since it's things that will get better later).
With all the drawbacks of a blaster only a lot of power would seem to be the selling point, which brings me back to this post. -
Yes please! Talking around the statue is nice and well, but this is a super hero game and I love doing more super hero stuff.
As Eleven mentioned I teamed with him for a few missions and even if DPS (now renamed Leandrea v3) was forced to stay mostly silent due to Josh and his cameras, it was still quite a bit of good fun. Just us three slapping AVs was a lot more interesting than the 100th same ol' paper mission :> -
I'm from Portugal, so no Virgin Cable (or even an experienced cable), while I'm also having the same problems ever since friday.
-
I was toying with a fire/WP and after some slotting swapping and slowly inch my HP up, but never reaching the cap, I began destroying my build just to add more and see if I could reach it.
I failed -_-
All the HP accolades + 5x 0.75%, 1.2%, 1.5%, 1.8% HP bonuses + 95% in HPT + 3% HP from Apocalypse and I still fell short by around 40 HP (2.379, the cap is 2409).
I'm not sure it's possible to add more, or did I miss something? The only way I could do was adding the temporrary health increase from the bank missions, but as it is temporary I wouldn't want to include it.
My regular build has 2.3k so it's not a problem if I don't reach the cap, but I'd like to know if I missed something.
