Basicly if you can spam same power more than once in every 10 second than putting gaussian maybe plausible if not than put gaussian into tactics or focused accuracy since those toggles check for it for every 10 second which means it will buff up once in every 200 second so it will only give a %0.5 base damage increase to dps in long term. Even if you can use it every 5 second it will just gives %1 base damage increase to dps in long term and it means you need to alter your attack chain so you can get just %0.5~%1 base damage increase.

Before patch it was like 1 v.rare around 20 rare around 10 uncommon and more than 100 common for kat/SR
After patch I got 2 common 2 uncoomon and 2 rare. -
In addition to other mentione flaws ion dont jump onto same target if there is one or two enemy so you can't use its recycle on most AV's more than once anyway.
And frankly if it was not chain back to target what is the point making it a chain attack it could be very well done as an AoE attack
All of judgements powers have different attack shape in addition to different side effects and damage type (pyronic is targeted wide AoE, cyronic is long-ranged cone, void is PBAoE) and giving its electirical nature chain is most fitting to ion not to mention in most settings lightning based powers usually hit back first target (and in some cases can even hit user) If ion was like just a wide targeted AoE than it should be pointless to take it since pyronic is more useful. -
Quote:Well for recharge in GC I don't think it will be a problem having a 0.1s delay in power and like I said if its numbers in () which are important than there is no change already. For global recharge it didn't changed at all since I moved hecatomb to another set.I am certainly no math person but with all damage procs I see 3 problems
Recharge - If you had more recharge in the power could you run a higher dps chain?
Endo - Yea your blue bar will probably hate you
Most Importantly
Accuracy - With no accuracy in a power you are going to have a fun time either building for acc bonuses or watching the attack wiff on harder opponents
Endurance is not a big problem either thats why i choose GC since its fastest yet most end friendly power and frankly I doubt you need to put any end red. in it if it was not for set bonuses.
For accuracy it has %190.13 when proc was put and %253.76 before that I am not sure but there is a (78.75) beside both of them so i guess it doesn't change without some -acc and I have focused accuracy in the build with a %69.2 tohit debuff res. Ofcourse I didn't tweek much with mids and this maybe number for hitting on same level mobs so only big problem maybe accuracy at this point. -
I was considering this for a long time for my kat/SR's Gambler's Cut. What I want to ask is it plausible or totally madness to make a build with one (or two) power having just procs in it. In GC's example:
I am not sure which value should be taken into account so I write down all. Use Arcana Time for Animation Times was checked and chance of damage is selected as avarage damage if it matters I am not good at with maths from mids yet. Both calculations done with Musculature Core Paragon.
With my current build in mind (Hecatomb set with proc and Achilles' proc in GC) mids show that Damage per Second is 167.43 (23.74) Damage per Animation is 331.1 (100.81) Damage Per Activation is 305.94 (93.15) With hasten active this build has +172.5% Global Recharge and GC's recharge is 0.903s (3).
With Touc of Lady Greys, Gladitor's Strike, Mako's Bite, Touch of Death, Hecatomb and Achilles' Heel procs on GC and rest of Hecatomb set on SD mids show that Damage per Second is 151.37 (37.45) Damage per Animation is 331.72 (159.05) Damage per Activation is 306.51(146.96) with hasten this one has +172.5% global recharge and GC's recharge is 1.01s (3).
If the numbers in () are the ones important than all procs in GC seems to be a better choice in all fields and if its the number before () matters than I really need to know which one should I consider as a basis. -
Funny thing people keep saying SR took the hard end in trials. I am playing SR I was running on a budget build too with %46 %47 def softcapped and in lambda I soloed 3 or 4 crates myself many times since people usually don't know where crates are or just getting lost in the maze. All I really need is an orange and a purple for each crate and it was before I got my tier 3 judgement (which I am using ion at the moment but i have pyronic for obvious patch for ion) and tier 3 destiny (i went with barrier for res). Only things that provide problems for me in trials are victoria's and sometimes boss seers except 9CU's which is obvious case of problem for anyone if they stay long enough.
-
I am playing with a kat/SR and so far trials were not so hard on me except a few runs where there was a slow number of people playing and the strategy needs to change according to that.
Though I realised something even outside of trials. I previously had %46 ranged and %47 melee and aoe and a defensedebuff of %95 and it was enough when I made some changes in the build to put hecatomb in and lowered melee and aoe to 45.7 and put ranged to %48 however things started to hit more frequently.
Now if it was only in trials I wouldn't mind but it also happened in normal game play and I find myself getting much more closer to defeat than before despite having better resistance and regen. I also keep monitor up to track my defenses and such so I know its not because mobs put defense debuff on me either. I found myself using more insp than before compared to when my build had previous defenses, lower resistance and regen so I think the soft cap may have changed in game as well.
One last thing I am considering as an option is switching my super speed (since I have ninja run already Super Speed is only there for decoration at the moment) with Elude. True Elude causes a crash down and such but it stays for 3 minute and with barrier I can prevent total defeat when it crash down untill I toggle back which gives me a better survivability in a trial than pure barrier itself. And with Elude I can lower my defense down to %40(or %35 if I really squeeze it) and can still not to rely on elude with small mobs. -
This is what i made after i play around mids a little more. I need help to make it better if possible but I want to keep body mastery for concept-wise. If there are any other pools that anyone can recommend for a natural scrapper instead of body mastery, I am open for suggesitons though.

Code:As can be seen its almost have perma-hasten (part of reason why I got two purple set) over normal soft-cap and can be achieved (or get close to) incarnate soft cap with a small purple. I wish I could get more resistance but I don't know how and lastly I think my DPS is a little low despite i can make GD-GC-SD-GC chain. Funny enough no matter how much i calculated i shouldn't be able to pull this off yet, I can even make a GD-SD-GC if I can press buttons fast enough probably because of power lag but I am not sure. Since I don't want this chain to be broken however i sacrife a GC once a while to put Practice brawl(actually in auto-mode its really annoying getting knocked when I try to make GD), hasten(its necessary to make chain after all), conserve power(I didn't really tested this with this build yet since I lack armageddon's build is not complete) or a build-up(well this is actually to make DPS bigger since it gives more than GC offer and its effect stays untill i can make two GD so over all its good).| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1442;690;1380;HEX;| |78DA65935B53525114C7F7E112815C44C02B84880A821C75EAA1DB4C3365CD94622| |4D65B3927DC0A0D030CE08CBEF501D24AAD5E9BA6AC3E461FA78BD67B175A67FDB7| |C80C0CF05B67EDF5DFEBB2F7C96ECDBB85787A4D68DE1B65A3D158CD17EA46AD26E| |B8E25A3B95937CAC22184089D7857B3B22CA5BE60348D8A116D7BE7E5BAAC34A49E| |DF349F96E57A596EC986FF76A528EBB2D2D44F0C57AE5A2DEBF99A946B1E366F953| |68ACD5265C3C74F8BD25893F546B154739F3CD768D17FB3562AE8D7AB6BDBAB59A3| |D194F5ED41AA699A7E3B6671FC69D9C5A445883961490329862D012419C35F08019| |135559A52B93473E54C0FE0669CF5003E86CBCB58229506954D83CA05951B2A3754| |5EA87629DCAA4AB37EA5BC1111FCC6E8FF0EFC600C1E01C78C3152D991C4624F0BD| |E0F18069E538043D5EE78CF5D853F3052878CE98FC027E03323472A2754C219E38D| |3472F5A03ED1D3A28FB092C78320AB674033CB49F43332494242CC8C33EE519C0F7| |19A2FC8CD86438C3D5AF1AB9EFDBF39F3B93F400BF8CB18FDC7489803A2C3215540| |B514C0604731D818061BC36063186C1CB9964915522D8532DCD25D720DA8C206109| |5427DFBB43284C2AC431B1C1C2F32C69F00EB8C3CC58DA81D46201DC7467DB41251| |E92298E001B9A2D8D416BD8AC62E32262F0197812B8C150A1F536D8EA1CD386E560| |2DD4EA1DB29743B856EFB4935A1F24EA094159A5A5215997C87B37FCBC8D34A5A9D| |691AF7E5D02384AEB2EA7B1C35F31AD867CC1D00AF80378C38659D551BCD8EF0298| |56DED578DBEE67D89DADAAF512BD5B53ADBE599EBF29CEFF25CE8F22C7679723695| |963C1A7B9CBDED77AD75E46ABFA642C3BDF879EAB26877F80E671EF02833F719C79| |D9A246B7E9DBAECDA331E4AEF0EB0CBE87B01BC640431B78500FDAB913C74990704| |FB51876D74D8850EFB71879DEBB0FF03B6AAED71| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
I have a few questions that comes to my mind to make this build better.
1) Is it better to put maneuvre instead of combat jumping? I know CJ is end-wise better but in incarnate trials even slightest % bonus to def till soft cap counts.
2) Should I move gaussian set to focused Accuracy? I frankly though it wound be better in build-up since I always use build-up before GD and it means if it fires i will get double on my GD guaranteed but in overall DPS it may be better to have on a toggle power.
3) Should I get tactics instead of Focused Accuracy? I got focused accuracy because it gives +acc and res tohit debuff but tactics gives more +to-hit, have lesser endurance usage and gives resistance to fear which is can't be prevented by practiced brawl. -
Kat/SR is not bad in incarnates I am running on a semi-budget build and I still have more survivalibity than most of the leagues I rarely die in an incarnate and it usually happens when there is not enough melee on AV's. I am at %45 softcap (around %47 for AoE and melee and %46 for range) and I don't even have divine avalanche in my toon. But there is nothing stops you get it just know it other than victoria's there is not much melee in incarnates so you won't need new softcap with melee that mch.
Reactive works like a charm, my only regret is I was impatient and got the %75 -res %25 fire DoT one instead of the one you mentioned before seeing some data about them. I will probably get the %75 fire DoT %25 -res one later. Still I see things fall quicker than usual and I have an area combo like Flashing Steel-Lotus Drop-Flashing Steel-Gambler's Cut and seeing everything around you get that little burn in them is quiet a sight especially at Lambda when trying to get those containers and crates. After gambler's Cut I usually Switch to single target combo of GD-GC-SD-GC. Usually when its up I use build up insteand of last GC so it buff my GD twice. Also having GC means you make two attacks in one click and I often see my enemies get that burn at second hit as well so each hit on GC triggers it seperatly. -
I started CoH before a month otr so when CoV went live at that time like everyone in their first time, I didn't had a clue to what to do so I decided to play a concept character with a few 'little addionts' into his concept. My first toon was a scrapper. I always liked melee characters but I am not too fond of tanks so after I installed and reading about AT's and sources I realised that origin of power is purely cosmetic for concept builds.
Since I wanted a character with a sword I thought training will be better explanation of his powers so I went with natural origin. First menu had a few good selections I was pretty much divided between katana (since I prefer japanese blades over medieval ones and from descriptions although katana has lower damage it recharges faster than BS) and martial arts. My urge to get a samurai like character beat down my urge to make a Bruce-Lee like character and I went with katana. In second list I was kinda dissapointed there were 4 or 5 choices in that one compared to 7 or 8 choices of first list and except one all seems too much pushing for a natural concept toon. So i went with SR after reading all of them it was the most natural choice. So I rolled my character and started playing.
Now why I told such a long life story is simple, I want to make a second scrapper toon now I have a DB/WP around 30ish levels but it hardly gave me the joy of first one (still better than most of my AT's that are hangig around level 15-). I am a casual player and it took me around 3 years to get my first toon (the kat/SR in the story) to 50 now he has one tier 4 and 3 tier 3 incarnate slots and on a semi-budget build but I almost completed my first purple set for him.
What I am going to ask is what will you suggest to me as to play my scrapper and why? It can be any reason concept-wise, pure leveling-wise, end game-wise, pure DPS, survival-based etc anything.
I tried other AT's too but other than a WS that i like to play, I didn't get any vibe from them like I got from scrappers. -
Okay this is the build I am currently using. With i20 launched i give some tries at lambda, all random runs. 3 times with a team of 8 one time with an 11. 3 of them failed at marauder last one failed at security team. I realised that my soft cap is not so softcapped against preatoria (i didnt use beta testing for i20 so all new to me). My question is do I need to rise softcap and if so how much and how? If i don't need it which interface should i take. Or maybe should I get elude back instead of something in the build?

As someone trying to make a decent kat/SR myself. I only see one problem with your build and that is kismet in agile. Although its true that you don't have tactics or focused accuracy, your Build up was nicely slotted and after you run your first chain (which would be enough time for build-up last) you would be putting so much defense debuff on your target even not enhanced powers would hit it. Actually your current build without kismet have more accuracy than mine but thats probably because of armageddon and I don't have that much misses consdering no matter what you do there is a %5 miss chance without some surekill power.
On a second look your defenses also seem a little high. with SR's defense debuff resist. you can manage a 46 or 47 defense in all even agaist enemies that does defense debuff.
EDIT: I missed your new build so I am taking a look at it now it seems many things are changed in that one. I will post what I think once I am finished. Well for slots I would suggest putting one in build up for gaussian's chance for build up. Double build up will skyrocket your dps and it won't be missed out of combat. And with second put it build up too remove recharge and put two adjusted targetting (one recharge and other end/rech) with this way your DPS in over all increase. There maybe better ways to do this though this is just first glance. -
Thanks for that text Werner. I can see how little it could be used in with my build.
This is what i got after playing in mids with Shutter2's suggested build. I know putting 4 of same enchantment in a power is waste but really can't find any other place to put it ad still get that perma-hasten :P

Thanks for advices. Actually I was unsure what to do with this build. It was really hard for me to drop elude since my playstyle was focused around it when fighting large mobs or EB/AV's. So i guess I am trying to focus on a toon which can take care of latge mobs quickly with a chain of LD, FS, GC and fight on EB/AV's with classicd GC, GD, SD chain.
For your advices;
-changing sets is plausible I was more like how can I get more damage when I did it so didn't think over it too much at that time admitedly.
-replacing defense IO's for more regen: I knew I was forgetting something thanks for pointing out.
-I actually got maneuvers for those nasty defensedebuff's and those have high tohitbuff's from what I see in these boards its usually adviced to have it between 45 and 50 (usually 47 or 48) but it would be better to drop it for endurance drain-wise.
-I totally forgot about -res procs and it seems achilles' heel isn't unique so it can be sloted for two or three powers probably into Gambler's cut because it will be the most I used and in lotus drop because if it kicks in everything around me gets -res.
-I was sure I had %5 recharge bonus capped but maybe I removed something (probably when I placed purples) that was why I didn't put 5 obliteration.
For ED, Frankly this is not the how build looks like now I put manevuer to try how it would look like but it seems with a %90+ res to defense debuff I may got a little carried away over soft cap. For last power I really don't need a travel power since I have ninja run but if ı can't find another power I may put SS back since it at least give me chance to ghost one mission with team teleport. -
After playing with mid I come up with this one but I am stuck at here. How can I get perma hasten with a build similiar to this? I don't intend to change anything in golden dragonfly unless it gives me more recharge time and crucial to get perma-hasten.
Also a sub note I don't have the inf or merit or anything else to get those purples yet but from what I see in the game with new hero merit system even it takes ages it will be still easier to get them with merits rather than trying to collect inf and it seems their drop rate somewhat become higher than what it was like 1 year ago.

Thanks for help. I like your build alot and I will try it.
For your questions here is what I was doing so far with them.
First Build: In solo I didn't have any problems with either endurance or recharge since nothing stay alive that long and since I am switching between attacks and GC is always up for dropping defense debuff on linking attacks isn't that much of problem. It usually looks like this SD-GC-GD After this usually i am surrounded (I cam currently playing with a 4 player set difficulty) and i use LD-GC and start again if I see my health dropping or there isn't that many enemy surrounding me I do a DA-GC and start over. I use build-up whenever I can I don't need to us hasten with this combination set. For EB's (I set it no AV) nothing stay alive for 3 min mostly so I save elude+hasten for them and until EB I usually don't activate tactics and focused acc so endurance is not a problem that way. If elude drops earlier than i expect i use 1 or 2 blur hasten+conserve power and reactivate all defense toggles. Well I forgot if it was I learned to survive with this build or did I build it that way.
For team plays its even less a problem with end or recharge since almost always someone is buffing and/or someone is tanking.
Second Build: In solo my health drops alot faster I admit but its also true for enemies and I made a few tests with both builds on same level and same type of creeps purely on damage of GD (ok I admit bad reasoning since I put almost every extra damage on GD still here are the results) First build was doing 331.86 damage w/o build-up and 490.19 damage with build-up. Second build was doing 450.55 damage w/o build-up and 578.84 damage with build-up. I was using elude alot more in this but still its managable.
I didn't used this build in a team yet so can't tell for sure but I hope it works like first one if not better. -
I have two builds for same toon but I am not sure which one works better or what I should do to make them better so I need help. I have both builds in different build slots and i have a few respec left so i can make fundamentals changes too.
My First build is a little old I made some changes according to new inherit fitness powers but I am not sure if it works as intended since I feel its DPS droped a lot though its defense is practically same.

Code:Second build was created to get maximum damage possible with what I have as inf. I could get a Shield Wall in Elude later to make its maximum possible damage but this build as it can be seen made my toon a little too much squishy without elude. I didn't die with this build yet and my DPS is increased in comparison with other build but I think there is still room for this one to improve.| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1383;617;1234;HEX;| |78DA6593DB7212411086673988104E0BC1242681049380C4ACA0DE5BA5F1221A620| |CD1DBB8814965ABB608EE6E22E88D2F6069A9CFE00B787C048F8FE2E1095C9BFE27| |18842AF8E87FFAEF9EED9DA97757E3423CB92AB4E475DB74DD9D46D3313B1DE9443| |64CEFD0316D111142E48ED59DBAB4A5346E999ED9360B037555EEC9B62B8DC6613F| |DA927BB6EC4A575F6BEF4B47B63DE3F84F6CF3E0C0361A1D295B29FEBB2ECD9674D| |C7DABF37FAC73BCD63EB25C6BD7B22DAFA7DFE8584DE3DA41ABB753375D4F3ABD49| |DADA127D9FF6F7C81F3F2CBE0684A889C017E03323F409F8CE38F58D51EFBB34E54| |A69BC92649C8E01638C581C483036C8A52997D6B79744DC170C8DA3E41F8E92418E| |D201C66D7205E10A04F3A25F681C3803142921AC12C2CB580126816794105109914| |B5801F2C02625449120A2F064481A53D2D83C4BE7484A60542201E90E4929553985| |DDE48179E00525E86ABCBA83322E70083C602C74008FB145AEAC6A9E5D61294B524| |E75CA61D79521E89430A11226D0FC3C50015E52C294DACA548BA5B312B8CF983181| |5D3C4793D120D7B42A3B8D420B4009784E09B37C167C310BE9154905D5A9F098A5B| |92EF010E8614647C023C636B98AAA5371E80114EE52C2A23A3E8B393E514B694007| |328C5216C08BDC0E0A515665CB18D50A50035ED33B5D566597E758BA308C05B8867| |08FCA1AEA198D372C5D7C0BBC03DEA3C947E003A649AEAA3A4255ECEF66967ED1DE| |9F090D2E633FF47D51080D2E9A5F39B98A53511D956AA3D2E551E9CAA8B43ED27C3| |3A47A93A2B1124DD35D84E2FF880D6EB3D050E2D73F29A0614E19601CF879D25366| |E9F7490F069E0632C05FDE20C232| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
