The benefit of knowing your SO only has a limited number of passwords...
Here's Two Gun Joe...he's a little asian man obsessed with John Wayne and spaghetti westerns :7
-
If it didn't require signing up for an account and all, I'd consider negotiating free art with that arrangement LJ ;D
-
Good stuff Henri, I never could get the hang of shading well myself(I cheat, I cel shade >.>) but even with light source awry-ness, it looks pretty good for still dusting off the skills there
And like FD said, inking is just one way to go. Color matched outline or vector colors with no outline at all is also completely valid if you are going to color digitally. GIMP will work for it on the cheap, its pretty much the same as a slightly older version of Photoshop so maybe not all the bells and whistles but the basic tools are there. -
You are welcome to take a crack at Kai, all you need info and refs wise is at http://eris-kai.deviantart.com/favourites/#Kai-art
I'm sure your skills are much better than mine, I remember drawing Crestent once in the Art dAmnit series....yeah that didn't work out so well as planned to get me to stick with drawing >.> -
Yeah I'm no good for critiques, and me trying to complement or random comment only ends up sounding like fluff posting for the sake of getting attention to my rereads, so I'm best showing support/appreciation through commissions, glad to finally toss some support CR's way :7

Baroque costume bits...apparently it drove Jtran a bit nuts with one of the pencils I got from him >.>
-
Also? No one keeps track of other people's contacts, without the added context of 'hey I know him'? Yeah it does sound a little like 'wow, it happened again, idiot'
-
Man, that makes me miss when the /em flipcoin would take hand effects with it so I could toss energy orbs in the air....
-
Two click rule, you can't direct link, but you can, say, link to your deviant art and say there might be something new there
Good stuff by the way, you've definitely put in the work to make 3D renders look less plasticy and smooth plane, which has always been my beef with them.

Well, probably past your window, but for something different, draw some Shadow Shard geography
-
In case anyone cares what this was used for, the birthdanniversary show was podcasted here
-
Sharing, since LJ was awesome enough to take this on, the flyer that will be on the Cape site soon with his awesome art
-
That might explain things Sapphic, I run in windowed mode as well, maybe its just fullscreen it doesn't like with the Print Screen button....
-
Actually...print screen works just fine on my Vista Home box, as well as alt-printscreen, which grabs only the window you are in and not the whole desktop...I had no idea it was broken for others o.O For the few times I needed something more complicated, the GShot gadget works rather well too
-
Thanks LJ, you're awesome
Not that you probably are up at midnight eastern on a Thursday(flipped with Pyrria for the summer, normally on at 10pm), but if you are, hit me up with a couple three songs you like and I'll play them for you
-
Yeah, that too, I have awesome timing don't I?
We'll see, and thanks for being willing if unable and good luck! -
Okay, so...forethought and planning is not my strong suit, and I have come up for a great idea today for my birthday/Cape Radio one year anniversary show and thought, 'you know what would be awesome? Art for a flyer!'. Of course that show would be Thursday night and its Monday so, planning fail....any artists got a clear plate/free time and think they can whip out a color full body something I had in mind in 3 days?
I've got about one to two months of gameplay cost to work with to give you an idea, I'm totally good with paying but realize 3 days is an insane schedule when people have commission queues and that little thing called 'real life' to work on and it might induce a stabbing rage should I start asking people. So instead, an opportunity which people can feel free to ignore and call me names while reading
Send me a PM or post if you are interested, thanks!

Rivenstar, old runaway stellar princess tank idea
Kaliedoskope, raver DJ who I made with neon rainbow effects when power customization first came out
Mayuki...I forget
I don't remember who she was
Him either
Have fun with! -
Oh I got a ton of these in the 'screenshots of the dead' folder of characters I no longer have...I will share later
-
Sekhet's sadly my one mystic/seer type magic hero, but if you want a phoenix, a Templaric magical chimera, or plant faerie let me know ;7
-
Nowhere near as awesome as ZNRGY, just an idealization of a character's future outfit I thought I'd share
-
Click for bigger image, Sehket Al-Majus, Sehket the Magus, egyptian magus reincarnated through her bloodline, dark/energy tank, think 2 parts Batman Animated Ra's Al-Ghul, 1 part Justice League animated Dr. Fate, 1 part Anck Su Namun from The Mummy. Pretend there are thin gold edging on her boots and glove cuffs like the cloak, hieroglyphs down the side (magic pattern on the gloves, the boots look retarded with them). Use her if you like -
There is no such thing as 'local' for 90% of the time a digital file...
Wassy did bring up a good point though, fan art forums and open to everyone forums like deviantArt are really bad about propping people up to expectations they can't fill...I have seen a lot of people post they are open for commissions either with really sub par art, or vastly overcharging for their skill vs others because everyone has encouraged them to do it, and when they get no takers wonder what went wrong. Contests very well might have a negative effect of the equivalent of a get rich quick scheme, try to win a contest instead of earn commissions on some artists.... -
Personally not a fan of 'draw me!' contests as it always seems to me the idea of someone capitalizing on their name or reputation to score as much free art as possible. If its to support practicing artists, make one of your characters always free to draw, I have set Kai up that way with her own gallery and description that says so and I know others have as well. If its to evaluate possible commissions, look at past work, or pay for a sketch and decide if you want to take it further.
That said, not all art contests are bad, the FArt thing is very fun to watch and I have participated in a Potluck Art contest, and would have no problem supporting that again.
(Have been informed this is not a common thing and needs explanation - Basically the organizer sets a number of max slots, willing subjects pay in a certain amount for one slot by a due date, and artists pay in a much lower rate, like 1/3 or 1/5 per slot(usually 2 or 3 max), and the organizer draws subjects for the artists to draw. In due time, art is produced. Any subjects whose artist flaked get their buy in back, the rest of the subjects and the organizer vote on the collective art, and the money pool is payed out to a 1st/2nd/3rd or if the organizer had different categories (best use of color, best pose, etc). So hypothetically, 20 slots @ 15/subject, 5/artist nets 700 to pay out in prizes) -
I would start by reading the stick topic in the forum called The Idiot's Guide to RP. For someone new to the idea, its a great start. Next, come up with a story for one of your characters. Who are/were their parents/siblings, how did they get their powers, what's their favorite food, color, outfit, what are their hobbies, give them a personality, and every time you team or are standing around, try to talk in character, instead of 'these guys are only green, lets get the glowies and go' maybe 'these goons aren't important to mess with, lets just find the crates of supplies and get out of here'
If you just want to see some RP in action, watch the threads here for the big events, there is always RP going on at those...like I believe Justice Girls and American Legion are putting on a big party next weekend.
