Agreed. I'd also like to see higher merits for harder settings, but that can wait.

Many thanks for the advice both of you (even though it's not my thread heh)

Quote:It is quite possible, on a large assortment of defenders, controllers, corruptors, dominators, and MMs. Possibly others as well.erm yeah..... i dont think anyone could solo down a GM by themself at this point in the game.... i think the devs made sure the powersets of an AT and game mechanics wouldnt let that happen.... it MIGHT be possible w/ a Solo spec'd "Cold or Rad/Sonic defender or a Ill/Rad - one of those types who sits back and casts out undefeatable pets... yeah.... but the mag of their debuffs/damage output may be too low for the GM's regen

I'm also on the fence about Fiery Embrace for this combo... can't decide one way or the other.
-
Haha, if only I knew what that meant.
-
I did one with only 7 people in zone on villains, with no directions given except someone shouting the location of the GM when he spawned. We just attacked whatever we felt like, and had no problems.

Quote:He already has one with the shield, so it's irrelevant.True.
By putting it in True Grit, you can benefit from it as early as level 7, if it's a level 10 IO, or 27 if it's level 30. By putting it in OWTS, you can't get its benfit before level 38.
For exemplaring purposes, it's true that it doesn't matter where it ends up. But while levelling, it makes a big difference. -
Quote:Read the wiki link:Well, only false depending on what level the Steadfast Protection IO is.
If you place a level 30 (max lvl) into One with the Shield, then you'll lose it's benefits
if you exemp below level 38 because you won't have OWTS anymore.
If you put it into True Grit, you'll have it all the way down to level 27 (-3 to the IO).
Personally, I agree with putting it into True Grit.
In fact, I just put one into my brand new, just hit level 27 Shield Tank.
2 level 30 common Resist IO and 1 level 30 SP Resist/Def IO costs me 0.3% resistance and gains me +3% Defense (bringing total defense up to just under 30% without any other IO bonuses yet...don't have any other sets slotted yet)
Global: This enhancement functions as a set bonus and is always on, even if in a toggle that is turned off or even if the power is greyed out because of exemplaring. However, the bonus of this Special IO is turned off if one exemplars more than three levels below the level of the Special IO itself, unless it's from a PvP Set, in which case, level doesn't matter and it will always work. -

Quote:i13 has plenty to do with it. I don't enjoy it.Sadly, I can not do that.
I have been pvping in this game since the arena opened, and although the many changes sucked, theres not much anyone short of a dev can do about it.
I used the *pre i13 exscuse* myself for not pvping..but it boils down to this : If you still like pvp, arent afraid of getting wrecked learning the 2.0 pvp, and want to still have fun outside of content, i13+ has nothing to do with it. -
Get me my i12 back and I will be happy to oblige

Quote:1st question: it will spawn for 5 (since x3 is 2 more than the team size).Possibly a stupid question, but it relates to the topic, so I'll ask here instead of elsewhere:
Let's say you're set for +1/+3, and you're on a team of three, and you're doing your mission. Will the mission spawn for a team of three, no matter what the difficulty is set to, since there's three physical people on it, or will it now adjust to spawn like a team of 6?
And part two of the question: Is there an upper limit to how high the adjusted team size goes, as far as spawns? Say the mission holder is set to /+8 and the team is full, will it spawn insanely-sized mobs?
2nd question: the upper limit is x8. -

Quote:I know you have a lot of input already, but my thought is this: I'd skip weave, tough, or focus chi before I skipped the passives.I didnt even consider not taking Tough and Weave.
To me, they are as important as Stamina. I guess i gotta think outside of the box more often and ignore the cookie-cutter builds.
Lol judging by these resposes, the only fad ill have started is to neg rep people who ask for opinions...and they didnt even leave a humorous comment for me to laugh at.
It was 2am when i made up those builds so my brain wasnt functioning at full capacity. Though, it is rare when it does.
I re-did 'em and came up witha way to fit in CJ with all 3 passives and some more end red.
I wanted some vertical control for the inside of mish's, goin to and from mish's i could care less.
Thank you all for your advice, it was most appreciated.
That said, you typically are on my team when doing itfs, meaning you are way above soft cap. So up to you really. -

Have you tested this? I'd be interested to know what the dps is in practice, as that tends to vary from theory.
Also, might something like a fire/kin corruptor beat this? (assuming you can surround yourself with minions or something). You'd have saturated fulcrum which would likely make a big difference, and scourge of course. -
I like doing mayhems on +4/x8. It's insanely hard!
-
Also of note is that dominate has no positional vector, so it often hits through high defense/god mode enemies.
-
I'd go with the brute. I haven't done any number comparisons, but based on observation the brute seems to be quite a bit faster.

Gratz
I typically won't be able to make these, as I go to bed at 10 eastern -
