Is there an updated list of who is getting sketches? Or have none of us met the criteria since Turbo?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it's just that I haven't had time yet (I had an exam this morning and I'm preparing for Katsucon, tomorrow)...I already have an idea in mind of the next one though...and it WILL be funny.

I enjoy funny
And happy birthday, Blue -

All of my refs are located in my signature. Now, on to the meat of this thread...
Kadmon (BS/Regen/Dark Mastery, Fly/Concealment/Presence/Fitness) is somewhere in the area of 14000 years old, a humanoid Golem created in the halls of Mu. Unlike later models of himself, this prototype was designed to learn through experience, and using the data garnered from this, the magic scientists of Mu created new golems to fight on the front lines. Kadmon, the original, however, had learned mercy, and refused to kill those who could no longer fight back. Because of this, he was imprisoned in orichalcum until the year 1130, when he was released without knowledge of who or what he was. Taken in by a church local to the western European country he'd awoken in, he became a paladin, hunting down, banishing, and destroying demons where he found them. It was on one of these hunts that he acquired his signature weapon, the sword of storms, Sturm.
Unfortunately, both for him, and for a certain rather incompetent group of Circle of Thorns wizards, he was accidentally caught in a demon summoning ritual. In 1136, having just banished the demon the Circle was attempting to summon, Kadmon found himself pulled forward in time almost a millennium. Now somewhat miffed and lost in Oranbega in the year 2004, he wandered for a few days, destroying Circle wizards utterly as he came across them. It wasn't until the second day of doing this that he realized he'd have been better off forcing one of them to show him the way out. Luck was on his side, though, as the third day he came across a magical lab that contained runes that had been designed for the Mu so many years earlier. Taking these prizes for his own (including a certain Rune of Recovery which fuels the lion's share of his regeneration), he used one to form himself a portal to the surface.
He has become accustomed to his new surroundings, using the same mental design that made him adaptable before, but he still doesn't QUITE understand some of the things humans do, not the least of which are yawning, whistling, and bouncing around when excited. Slowly but surely, his memory of his past life is returning to him. He can't sing, but he can cook well, predict the stock markets with alarming accuracy, and play one mean bass guitar (most commonly, on the Rickenback 4001).
Masked Shrike (Sonic Resonance/Dark Blast/Darkness Mastery, Fly/Fitness/Medicine) is about 24 years old, a former singer/songwriter and a descendent of Mu by the name of Serafina Dalton. Prior to meeting Kadmon, she was world-famous, often touring around the United States and other countries. After a Circle of Thorns kidnapping attempt that was thwarted by Kadmon, she took him on as a temporary bodyguard for her tours that took her into Paragon City. She went on a tour of Europe for a year after leaving Paragon City, only to return the next year. After another kidnapping attempt, again thwarted by Kadmon, but this time by Kadmon's Praetorian Earth counterpart Prima Ombra, she took up residence with the golem for a couple weeks while also practicing some of her own spells and getting some martial arts training under the former 5th Column oberst (and current zombie) Max Kampfer.
Ombra's second attempt to kidnap her was decidedly more successful, but threw Kadmon into a such a rage that he went to Praetorian Earth on his own to storm his double's fortress. While there, he transfered a measure of his power to Serafina, unlocking the full potential of her Sonic magic and granting her shadow powers and super-human strength as well. She used these to help break herself out of the position of sacrificial-victim-to-be and hold off Prima Ombra until backup could arrive.
After escaping Praetorian Earth, she took up permanent residence in Kadmon's apartment and became the heroine Masked Shrike. She can't cook very well, but she does sing remarkably well, and can punch a hole in someone's eardrums with a whistle if she feels so inclined. She's generally kind-hearted, but has a bit of a temper. She tends to become somewhat bouncy when excited. -

Quite right
...
I'll admit it, I do love a post pyramid
EDIT: I suppose I should add something useful to this
Just to give you a possible benchmark for how long you might end up waiting, I put in screenshots and a request in CB's line back toward the middle of November, 2005. Don't let that deter you though, I've been given to understand that I made a rather complex, and thus, difficult costume to draw -
I suppose I could throw a couple more in here.
Golus (Sig 2) - Last Sunrise - Uses Moment of Glory fist raise, covering him in the Soul Drain golden glow. It's a large +Def, +Dam power, but is only usable when his Defiance is over 50. At the end of the power's duration, he is left with 1 HP and no endurance. From a story standpoint, even as his life force wanes, Golus can, through sheer force of will, push his body past the pain and access the full of his strength, but doing so leaves him in dire straits once he's expended that energy.
Kadsworth - Bullet Rain - Uses the Empty Clips animation, aimed into the air, followed by a lot of orangish-yellow lines raining from the sky. Targetted AoE, High DoT. From a story standpoint, Kadsworth is a master with his pistols, and causing a rain of lead is something well within his abilities. -
Feel free to have at Kadmon and Masked Shrike (refs in the sig, will be updating them shortly).
Kadmon (BS/Regen/Dark Mastery Scrapper, Flight, Concealment, Fitness, Presence)
Bio - A humanoid golem created by the people of Mu as a frontline soldier in their war against the Oranbegans, Kadmon was the first and designed to learn through experience, and through that which he learned, they created more. However, unlike the later models, Kadmon learned mercy, and a sense of justice. This was considered a negative when he refused to kill Oranbegans who could no longer fight back against him. He was encased in a prison for roughly 13000 years, where he was released in the 1130s without memory of who or what he was. In 1136, he was pulled forward to the year 2004. It took some doing, but he managed to adapt to his new surroundings.
Masked Shrike (Sonic/Dark/Darkness Mastery Defender, Flight, Fitness, Medicine)
Bio - A descendant of the people of Mu and a world-famous singer, she retired from the music scene after an attack by Kadmon's Praetorian Earth counterpart attacked one of her shows. After a sequence of events (detailed in Children of Mu), she eventually became a hero with shadow powers gained from Kadmon, and her own natural sonic powers. She's remarkably near-sighted.
Kadmon on his own would be good doing combat-type things, or flying around, or leaning on his sword, Sturm, the Sword of Storms.
Shrike on her own could be singing into a microphone, aiming a cryo pistol with shadows around the other hand, bumping into something without her glasses on, or kicking someone or something in the general head area.
Together, they could be flying off in symmetrical poses from a common point (I.E. His left foot and her right foot are end-to-end as they lift off).
EDIT: Refs are updated, and in a new folder. -

No, that would wreck some signature moves.
My Stalker, "The Lord of Rags" has a planned sig called "Curse of Rags." It's not supposed to do any damage, it just debuffs the holy [censored] out of the target. (-acc -dam -def -res -regenhp -regenend)
Remember, these things are being designed with INSANE recharge timers. Anywhere from accolade recharge length to an hourly usage only. Negatives can be allowed. Remember that people won't be spitting them out every ten seconds, rather ever hour or so. Which means that over multiple fights, or even multiple enemies, the sig is practically worthless, especially ones designed to target one enemy. (Like mine)
[/ QUOTE ]
Um, if you check the context of my comment, I'm not talking about debuffing an enemy - we're discussing the wisdom of allowing negatives appplied to the player in return for greater power or choices, since some powersets or archetypes can effectively ignore many of the "downs", and thus get extra power for free.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe I wasn't clear enough when I suggested the negative effects. The negatives would probably be fairly severe, such that you wouldn't want a -Def effect on your SR because Defense is all that Reflexes has going for it.
Or maybe the drawbacks idea was a bad one. I threw it out here to get the general opinion of it, and to see what holes people might be able to find in the setup. -
[ QUOTE ]
Negatives to powers does sound like it could be good, but it's also quite exploitable, really. After all, give an SR scrapper a -def and end-crash penalty to their +dam, +acc click, and all they have to do is turn it on at the same time as Elude. Hey presto, their defense is still sky-high, and they don't have to worry about the end-crash since that's coming already.
[/ QUOTE ]
By that logic, having Blues and Lucks already counter-acts the weakness. -
Do help yourself to our resident ancient swordsman, Kadmon (as seen in the signature). He does so enjoy a good fight
-
I feel it necessary to point out that obvious bumps without some additional information pertaining to the thread is a bad thing. Mods don't look kindly on it.
That said, I had another thought. The addition of drawbacks to signature powers (I.E. Self Stun, Self -Recovery, Damage self, etc) should add points for use in power creation. However, to prevent people from creating a power that is just weaknesses to give themselves more points, the ratio of drawbacks to power effects should be 1:1 for powers with only one effect, 1:2 for powers with two, and 1:3 to powers with three or more effects.
Kadmon's Fury of Mu, for example, has one Damage effect (Energy) and one -Recovery, fitting into my 1:1 ratio of Positive to Negative effects.
An example of a power currently existing with a 1:2 ratio is Energy Transfer, with one Damage (Energy, Smashing), a Disorient, and a Self -HP.
Feel free to pick this addition to the idea apart as you see fit. -

I love the idea. only have one question that prolly was asked already but did not have the time to read the complete thread. What of the people who have character at lvl 50? would it stock points?
[/ QUOTE ]
It was asked, and we'd decided that these points would stack up just like unused levels. -
I don't think having an I-thingy would be terribly flattering, Sorah. Seriously, I wouldn't want an iSor (sound it out if you don't get it)
-
You could count on Kadmon to bring the chips! Oh, and a cooler full of drinks. Maybe some salsa. Probably some French onion dip too. Possibly a turkey as well, but that's just because he doesn't quite understand that certain foods aren't normally served at a BBQ
-
[ QUOTE ]
And the character with multiple powers would have less useful powers on the whole, as thier points would be less effective.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be the general point. The character who wants more signature powers would have to be willing to make all of them less powerful. -
The way I see this, it would be a progressively more expensive prospect to keep making more and more new ones. That is, two points to create #2, three for #3, four for #4, and by then you wouldn't have enough points to make anything useful out of it.
-
I had a thought about this idea a minute ago. What would the collected gallery here think about perhaps something like this:
If the character is awarded points, but opts not to use them all in one power, they can use the remaining points to create another power. Say, for example, the player decides only to put 8 points into Signature Power A, they can then, at a doubled cost for startup (two points to create, instead of one, then the number returns to one point per increase in effect), Signature Power B.
Thoughts? -
I'm with you, PK. Signature Powers for all, and to all a good time
I'll tack on one more Sig, just to see if I can spark more people to see how this system could be really fun.
Garlanus - Incendiary Motion - Leaves a Burn Line from the beginning to the end point of his teleport, which has a shorter range than normal teleportation. From a story standpoint, Garlanus is a wraith-sorceror who happens to be an assassin. He was able to teleport over long distances (like the normal Teleport travel power), but in order to keep down energy costs on his in-battle teleportation, he would only partially unphase with reality when moving faster than sound from one point to another, creating a tremendous amount of friction and igniting the area around himself. -

This idea's quite sexy. Now my SS Brute can have some kind of Ultra Hyper Mega Foot Stomp. Or, or, I've always wanted something with a Total Focus animation.
/signed, as they say.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh, I already have, in my head, Signature Attacks for almost every single character of mine. Because I'm a nice guy, I'll list a few of them
Kadmon - Fury of Mu - It would use the Moment of Glory animation, leading into the lightning dome that Arachnos Heavy Blasters use. Typical Nova-style attack, PBAoE extreme damage, drains all endurance, leaves him unable to recover for a moment. From a story standpoint, it's explained by the fact that Kadmon is a Muvian golem, and as such has access to Mu-style powers (I.E. Electricity)
Masked Shrike - Shadow Kick - It would use the old Storm Kick animation with shadow effects on the kicking leg. High DoT. From a story standpoint, Shrike learned martial arts under the watchful eye of an old Nacht Fist, and gained control of shadows from Kadmon. As such, she decided to combine the two skills into a powerful attack.
Golus - Pulverizing Rain - Uses the Rain of Arrows animation, combined with the AoE Energy Blast (it's one of the later powers in the set, but I can't recall what it's called) raining with the arrows. Ground-targetted AoE Extreme DoT, leaves him drained of endurance, but able to recover at a reduced speed. However, the attack briefly places Golus in Held status, in the Rest animation. From a story standpoint, Golus combines magic with his archery already, generating exploding arrows and the like. However, due to an advanced medical condition, such large-scale use of his magic leaves him incapacitated for a short period of time while he recovers.
Fiery Havoc - Summon Golus - Summons Golus, Archery/Ice/Elec Blaster, with access to early-to-mid tier powers in his Archery and Ice sets, and Charged Armor. Uses the Storm Summoning power that shoots the Knockdown/Stun lightning attack, lightning strikes, in the middle of which Golus appears. From a story standpoint... I'm not telling you anything, because that would ruin things
Serafina Dalton - Beat Rush - A red blur moves around while she does the old Laugh emote. PBAoE High damage, Knockback. From a story standpoint, Serafina is REALLY fast, and most enemies don't even know what hit them until they're already in mid-air. The red blur... Well, she just REALLY likes the color red
I think that's enough of mine for nowIt should be pretty well obvious that if this makes it in, I will be a VERY happy Kadmon
-
I love this idea. I've actually, in the past, made threads encouraging people to come up with a signature power for their characters. The big thing I want to know here is whether a Pet type power could be made with this, and if so, could we design the pet?

Click the Download button on the left side of the page. That will bring up the picture in its full size

That, my dear friend, is downright incredible. Any and every time I've used MS Paint, I have simply ended up spraypainting some poorly thought out graffiti on my screen. I tip my hat to you. -
I'm pretty sure you started a Kadmon/Masked Shrike picture, but never finished it. At least I don't THINK you finished it...

You can use Kadmon if you want. Screenshots in the signature.
