Odd. I finished the first 4 arcs through Ouro (did the fourth yesterday) and they have all disappeared from his list. I don't seem to be having that problem, but like I said, that was yesterday. Haven't tried today. Will be curious to see how wide-spread this problem is.

Heya Hyper. I have to ask...please don't flame me!! As you know, I'm still relatively fresh off my 3+ year absence. What are the powers in your third tray? I see the Pocket D teleporter at the end, perhaps the Crey Pistol in there...and what looks like a couple of teleport powers at numbers 7 and 8 (not sure about that though), but in those other slots are ones I've never seen. Can you (or someone else) explain what they are? Thanks much.

Alright I'll give this a try (not sure how it will turn out...not very good at this stuff).
Basically I keep all my melee attacks on row 1....starting with single target and ending with AOEs.
Row 2 starts with my ranged attacks, aoes(so they line up with my aoe's below them), and ends with taunt and my Incarnate pets.
Row 3 is all my toggles and then Barrier and Demonic.
Around those trays I have some extras to hold things like temps, pet commands, Ouro/Base porters, etc.
I normally don't have my recipes up, but I just had a very good day and wanted to see them continually. What a way to start my weekend!!

Hmmm...I'm going to have to check with Ikea and see if I can find a desk like that! Thanks for the tip!!
These are GREAT, gang. Amazing to me how different everyone's experience with the game is.
STILL waiting on my Alienware....should be here ANY DAY!!! Looking forward to it!!! I'll definitely post the final set up once it arrives! -
I hear your point, XMas, but as I stated above, had they shown even the slightest bit of concern for my lack of satisfaction and frustration with the situation, I may have been more apt to ride it out (even though it would have meant MUCH more wait time instead of just returning theirs and ordering a new one) and let them fix the problem. Maybe I just unluckily ended up with the worst possible employees on the other end of the phone. Maybe my experience would have been different had I gotten connected with someone else. I'm not sure, but if what the poster above said is true, then I was probably speaking with their ONE tech guy taking calls that day and then maybe their ONE customer service rep on duty that day. Either way, for ME (I can only speak for myself), I'm not comfortable doing business with a company that treats their customers like that. I hope other people have had/will have better experiences with them, but they won't be getting any future purchases or recommendations from me.

I'm sure one mouse is for the boards and the other is the "special" mouse...it shuts down all purple recipe drops the second I log in and turns them back on the second I log out. ;o)
PS...I NEED that desk, ZWill!! -
Clean set-up there, ZWill!!!! Love it!!
Keep 'em comin, guys and gals! -
Hyper and Serial...thanks for adding!!! GREAT stuff!! Hyper...LOVE the big screen tv literally two feet away!! And Serial....yours wins for funniest of ALL time!!
I'm getting some great ideas here!! Can't wait til the new Alienware gets here so I can start playing as a dualCOHer !! Will be taking some of all your ideas and putting them into place!! Especially that additional footrest idea from Serial !! -
Exactly Rajani.
I had already waited a week to get it here. ...now you want me to PAY for shipping? Oh I can't even PRINT the label for another three to four days?? Um...I could have it returned and be playing on a different new computer just in the time I'd have to wait to print the label. That doesn't even take into consideration the few days for it to ship there, the week(?) for them to fix it, and the few days for them to ship it back.
Based on their lackadaisical attitudes on the phone, they weren't coming across as eager to keep me as a customer. "Oh, well just go get your money back".
Um, OK....I will.
I see what you're saying though. Ultimately, sending it to them to fix OR just returning it may be their only options.
But, I'd like to see the option where the customer isn't punished for something that isn't his fault. Where's the "Wow we are VERY sorry to hear that it arrived in that condition, Mr. Greenough! We REALLY value you as a customer and want to make this right. We'll get another one out to you right away. Send back the damaged computer at our cost, ok?"? That may have made me more inclined to stick with this company and give them my business. It doesn't even have to be that extreme....just don't make me feel like I'm having to fight for something that should be handed out generously by any retail company: customer service. -
LOL MB. I've still been playing on my current Alienware....new one should be arriving in 2 days. Finally can get my side-by-side setup going!
It all worked out in the end...even if it wasn't a pleasant experience. Live and learn. -
Quote:Thanks for the reply Hyper! No worries...you couldn't have seen this coming.Wow. Sorry you had such a lousy IBP experience. And sorry to have recommended them to you as such.
What issue "exactly" did IBP fall down and knock their brains out on?
Were they refusing a replacement? Or warranty service?
Or were they going to try and send you a motherboard and expect you do DIY?
Hoping your new system works well for you.
I had a tech guy here to help set everything up (as I explained above). *Trying to keep this as brief as possible). Originally, the computer was only showing 4 gigs of Ram...when it's supposed to have 8. So, I called Costco and they Costco rep got me on the line with iBuy. The iBuy guy had us take out the memory and put it back in. Each chip was 4 gigs according to the sticker on them, and once we put them back in THEN it was reading all 8 gigs. That wasn't the end of the world...atleast the problem was solved....or so I thought. Tech guy that was here helping me wasn't getting any reading from the video card so he took a look at how it was seated on the motherboard (as the pamphlet they included said we should do). When he took it out he discovered the motherboard was cracked right where the video card slots into it. UGH. I explained this to the iBuy guy (with the Costco rep on the line as well) and the guy literally said to me, "Well, sir, you have two choices. One, you can send it back to us and we will fix it which will take a couple weeks or 2.) you can return it to Costco and get your money back."
I was FLOORED by this response, but I was even MORE floored when he told me that *I* would have to pay to have it shipped to them. When I discussed my lack of satisfaction with the tech guy he basically said I can talk to a customer service rep if I want, but those are my choices. He was very cold and harsh the entire time.
I explained to the customer service rep that I am a NEW customer with plenty of money to spend now and in the future. I CHOSE to go with iBuy instead of any other company to give them a chance. I explained that if this is how they treat their customers then I'll gladly take it back to Costco, get my money back, and go throw money at another company. He was a bit nicer and said they would eat the cost of the shipping, but I would not be able to print the shipping label for 3 days. (This phone call happened on Friday.).
It made no sense to me to wait 3 days for the label, send it to them for repairs, get it back (who knows if there would have been more problems...) and have it set back up all in the span of probably TWO WEEKS when I could just immediately order an Alienware online, driver over to Costco two blocks away, return the iBuy, and be back home all in the span of ten minutes. I was willing, like I told iBuy, to let them fix the problem and earn me as a customer. However, I didn't feel as if they were working with me at all. THEY sent the defective product. I understand that sometimes things happen, but in cases such as these any company should lessen the negative impact on the customer as much as possible.
Had they been different on the phone and not made me have to explain HOW to treat customers and WHY they shouldn't make me pay for shipping are not things I should have to do. I'm the customer.
I guess ultimately they succeeded. I DID, afterall, end up taking one of their two original options. The taste I had in my mouth after the 2 hour phone call (half of which I was on hold) just would not go away even after they finally agreed to pay for the shipping, so I just decided to go return it. I'd rather my money go to a business/people that appreciate it...or atleast have my money NOT go to people that DO NOT. -
Quote:I have that same CoV binder!!! My wife (she was my girlfriend at the time) bought it for me when CoV first came out and I was telling her how confused I was about it all! ;o)My main computer, currently down for the count due to hard drive failure, alongside my fiance's:

(excuse the crappy pictures, my camera is missing so I had to use my phone) -
I'm a huge X-Men and Marvel fan ...have always been fascinated by the Mutant Superheroes (Iceman, Jean Grey, etc) so every toon I own (except for the epic ATs) are of Mutant origin.

For those still following this thread for its intended purpose, the computer I purchased (see above a few pages back) did arrive and the motherboard was cracked. LONG story short, I contacted iBuyPower through Costco's rep and after discussing the issue with them, I was completely dissatisfied and will never buy from that company again. I took the computer into costco and returned it and got the money put back on my credit card. (LOVE costco). I purchased an Alienware (which is the kind I have now and have never had a problem) through Costco for a GREAT price...$999 for those interested and it's better spec-wise than the iBuyPower one was, so I'm actually glad this happened.
Yes I realize there are cheaper options out there (building yourself etc) but when that's not possible for a person who is technologically illiterate, you have to put up more money to get it done for you.
I can't wait til it arrives!! The whole time I was waiting on the iBuyPower to arrive, I don't know quite why, I was nervous and worried. The anticipation for the Alienware is much different...just pure excitement. Guess because I know what I'm getting.
Happy gaming! -
I'm sure ANY brute could do it, but I really enjoyed my Dark Melee/Energy Aura brute. The to-hit debuffs in the dark attacks stack VERY nicely with the defense of Energy Aura.
Now that he's pretty much capped out, though, I'm going to be starting a similar path as you. I think I'm going to be rolling either a Broadsword/Willpower Scrapper or a Titan Weapons/Fiery Aura. (Possibly Street Justice and one of the two secondaries...haven't decided yet).
Have FUN!! -
Villain Tip Missions have a lot of PERFECT missions for these.
-
Alright...I'll play!
Blaster: Energy Blast/Energy Manipulation (what someone said above about EVERYONE creating one of these toons at launch was so funny. I sure did!!)
Brute: Dark Melee/Energy Aura
Controller: Mind/Force Field
Corruptor: Fire Blast/Cold Domination
Defender: Empathy/Archery
Dominator: Plant/Thorny Assault
Mastermind: Robotics/Force Field
Scrapper: Broad Sword/Regen
Stalker: Energy Melee/Ninjitsu
Tanker: Invulnerability/Super Strength
These listed are what you asked for....what I think of the instant I hear the AT. These are not my "favorites" or "most powerful". -
My Dark Melee/Energy Aura Brute has had zero problems with this. My personal favorite is herding up the Elite Bosses (Minotaurs and Cyclopses) during the outdoor mission that Sister Solaris gives....nothing like 16+ EBs all piled on top of you!!!

Quote:It's responses like these that so nothing but add to players' frustrations. I've recently returned from a 3 year absence, and in my month since returning I have not been on ONE team (save for the Incarnate Trials). I broadcast and put on global channels that I'm LFT, but have yet to receive an invite. I think the issue has more to do with what a poster above has said...people are more comfortable now with their friends/global friends/acquaintances and thus don't even keep an eye out for those looking for a team.I don't think teaming is happening any less often...
Changes that need (should) be made, though, are improvements to the search window (namely, a button to filter out players already on a team). Also, trying to make the 'LFG' window help you find a group would be nice as well (right now, it's basically completely ineffective for that task).
The rewards for teaming are already huge... it's just the tedium of making a team that's the problem.
Those of us who don't have the luxury of many in-game "friends" are left to solo.
Please stop saying this issue doesn't exist. Just because you say it, doesn't make it true. -
LOVE the setups!!! My new computer arrived today ...so hopefully I'll have my new dual system setup going as early as noon!! At that point I'll get a picture here so you guys can see the change. I think my first step needs to be a new desk. I need one of those flat corner ones. Right now the desk I'm on is really only designed for 1 computer. Might just have to make it work for now!
Thanks again for all the ideas! Can't wait to see more. Keep 'em comin'! -
As much as I appreciate you taking the time to find that guide, and even more for the person who put the guide together, that all is foreign language to me. I may as well be reading greek. No disrespect intended at all, but there has GOT to be simpler way. I'm glad there are avenues like this for people out there to use, but I wouldn't be able to follow that if I tried. (Literally.)
What I'd like to do is set up my new computer as my main computer and keep my alienware right next to it on the same desk so I can have 2 complete systems side by side. Obviously, everything is already installed and running fine on my Alienware, but when the new one arrives is there any other way to get things up and running on it?
Again, I appreciate your patience and understanding with all this. Wish I had your technological gifts!! -
Alright...let's see if I did this right....
*Edit: Was testing Memphis_Bill's instructions...

Thanks Hyper. I appreciate your input very much. My computer should be arriving shortly. Was just going to plug in my monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc from my current computer and replace the CPU with my new one. That said, I began thinking about what has to be done after that point. The new computer obviously won't have COH/V installed, so do I just go to the website and download the game just like I did when I returned from my 3 year absence a month or so ago? I realize this may sound basic, but I want to make sure there's nothing stopping me from being ready to go.
In addition, you mentioned the video card drivers. I know literally NOTHING about these...how can I make sure I have what I need?
Thanks again....i'm very much looking forward to my new machine! -
That's a VERY impressive build. I don't have my to add from a PvP perspective as I don't do much of that, but I HAVE to ask....how do you AFFORD ALL THAT??? I mean...GEEZ!!! Do you buy all those? Or have you been collecting for YEARS...or?
