Sigh.
So ...I was excited to find out my home server was having the event today from 5-8 Pacific. (Victory Server). Had to take my daughter to swim lessons at 5, but figured I'd be able to jump on when I got home and find out what this event is all about!
I get on at about 7:30...decide to head to Paregrine Island since I thought I had heard that that would be one of the zones this took place in. I zoom around all the water and beaches...NOTHING. Ok..maybe I'm in the wrong zone...so I head to Talos since I thought I heard something about it being there. I zoom all around the zone checking out all the water and beaches for any sign of SOMETHING...I stumble across two level 54 bosses...1 coralax and 1 Bane Spider. I take them out, check out the zone some more...nothing. Ok...IP has a lot of water, let me go check that out. NOTHING.
I don't get it. If the event is running from 5-8pm on this server (Victory) how could there be nothing? I'm appauled by the little to no heads up given to those of us who want to participate. Did I do something wrong? What am I missing here?? -
You're SO helpful!! Where would I be if it wasn't for YOU???
-
I should mention that I did try rebooting my router.
And...if it makes any difference...I've been playing on Victory, Justice, Virtue, and Guardian...and it's happened on Victory, Justice, and Virtue for sure...can't remember if it's happened on Guardian or not. -
Hey all....
I keep getting mapserved and/or losing connection to server. This happens at various times and doesn't seem to be any consistent issue setting it off. It's happened on Summer Events (and I've asked in-game if others experienced it at the time and sometimes they say they did...sometimes even more than 1 from my Summer Event team had it happen) while it also happens while the game is running and I'm not even at my computer. When I return from the mapserve, I usually ask in a global channel if anyone else had it happen and some people say "no" while others sometimes say they've been noticing it happen recently.
I don't know what to do to correct this...is it something with my internet connection? Or...is this a game issue? I don't know what steps to take to solve this, but it's been going on for a couple days (maybe 3). My computer is a new Alienware that doesn't have any issues running the game. This is getting quite irritating.
Any advice for me? Is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks. -
Hin...thanks a ton for your builds. I was wondering what could be done by using other Epic pools since this toon is on the Hero side. Your input is greatly appreciated!!
-
You pretty much NAILED everything I was hoping for. Brilliant slotting with things I never would have even thought of....which is why I originally made the post. I never would have thought to slot Speed Boost that way or Increased Density. Love it.
Only issue is that this character is a hero and thus doesn't have access to Scorpion Shield. Would I have to go through taking her to the villain side, go through the arc, unlock the Patron Powers, then come all the way back to Hero side? Eep that's quite a pain. Any ideas on ways to not have to do that? Maybe alternate power choices?
Again, thanks SO much. Absolutely love it! -
Thanks Hindenburg. I appreciate any input.
Ya was thinking the more recharge the better....but also want to be able to get in and do my Kin thing without faceplanting...some defense would be nice, but I don't want to gimp the build to try to cap or anything crazy like that.
Appreciate you taking a look. -
Well...LOL. I didn't realize that this section was an epic failure. After reading the thread about this just now, I think I'll scoot over to the Defender section and try there. I now see what all of those people are talking about. Silly me for asking for builds in the "build workshop". ;o)
Just my 2 cents, though...it did seem like a good idea. When I first saw "Build Workshop" I thought, "GREAT! Finally each AT section will be cleaned up and we can get all those builds into one area!". That went well. ;o). -
Just got my Kin defender to fifty, and was hoping someone had some old builds lying around. She's Kinetic/Arrow. Epics are open to whichever. Currently she has the mass sleep from Psychic, but that will be changed with the respec. I prefer/like hover and fly, although it's not a necessity.
Goals for her are pretty simple: Be able to stay alive while stacking all the siphons, heals, transferences, etc off and raining down arrows on baddies' heads. Money isn't an issue.
Anyone have any decent builds for me? I appreciate it very much. -
Thanks Hope. Just wanted to make sure. Appreciate it.
-
Real quick question. Noticed in Mids that the short description for Titan Weapon's Arc of Destruction mentions it does knockback, but then the description says knockDOWN. Which is it?
If I use this power on even con or higher level baddies, will they fly back or fall down?
Thanks! -
Just bad luck, my friend. I have a toon that wanted to convert a Luck of the Gambler: Defense into a Luck of the Gambler: Recharge Speed. This toon had 37 converters on hand. I thought, "Ah..no problem...should just take 10ish or so..."...well, 36 converters later ...back to a LotG: Defense. Ugh. *TWELVE times I converted that thing and kept getting EVERYTHING but the +Recharge*.
And ...same character a few days before...had a Gladiator's Javelin PVP enhancement, was all geared up to burn up all my converters to make it into a Shield Wall: +Res....used ONE converter boom...up it pops!! From a Gladiator's Javelin to a Shield Wall: +Res with just ONE converter.
Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not! -
Interesting. I live on the West Coast (southern California) and oddly ran into the opposite problem! It seems like everyone STARTS doing iTrials as I am logging for the night! (I usually play after work in the evenings from about 4 Pacific til about 8 Pacific and as I'm logging for the night is when I tend to see them forming!)
This got frustrating enough that I actually moved a character I really wanted to Incarnate over to another server. My main server is Victory...it got interesting when I used a Server Transfer Token...and noticed Freedom and Virtue were NOT on the list of possible places to relocate my toon. I don't have any characters on those two servers so that was very odd to me. I wasn't sure if this was the Dev's way of trying to keep those servers from becoming overpopulated...or...???
I can say, though, that Justice tends to be pretty active in terms of iTrials. More-so than Victory anyway. I'd love for that to change...
I'm thinking that once i23 hits, people are going to be making mad dashes to get their Hybrid slots opened and slotted so we'll probably see an increase in iTrials. That's a major hope of mine, anyway! -
DEFINITELY go with IOs!!! They literally aren't MUCH more than SOs (cost wise) if you slot the cheap sets. Even the cheap sets give you bonuses that you wouldn't have by going with SOs. Yes, there are some CRAZY costly sets out there, but you don't HAVE to slot those. I say go with ones you can afford...often you can buy them already crafted for not much at all. Feel free to send me a tell in game if you want at either @Justice29 or @Clever One if you have any questions. I'm usually on evenings (Pacific Standard Time).

Alpha!!! Hey buddy! Good to see you!
I appreciate all the responses. So what I'm gathering is, as with many of the Kheld builds, do what works for you. I actually have more than just a base slot in Nova (don't hate) so I think I'll slap it in there and see how it works.
I also noticed on your build, Alpha, that you also have the Force Feedback +Recharge in the Nova form Detonation. I currently have it in one of the Nova single target blasts (put it there YEARS ago before my 3 year break), but I'm assuming that people are putting it in Detonation since it has a chance to fire off each hit target (with only one proc having a chance to fire at a time). When hitting big groups at a time that definitely makes more sense than where I currently have it. My thinking at the time was a faster recharging power would give it the opportunity to fire more often...but, when that longer recharging power has a chance to have it fire off of 10 or more baddies, then that's definitely the spot for it.
I think for the time being I'll slot 5 ATOs in the Nova cone attack with some type of proc as the sixth slot, put a Gaussian's Chance for Buildup in my Nova, and the Form Empowerment in Ebon Eye...since you get the bonuses from it regardless of where it's slotted. I'll move my Force Feedback to Detonation and call it a day!
Appreciate the feedback everyone. And Alpha...thanks much for the link. I'll see ya soon on some more iTrials! -
Quick question about your build above, Zy. I noticed no Knockback protection. Is this intentional?
Also...regarding the changing kb to kd....WOW and YAY!!!!!!!!
*Edit*--Nevermind...I think I figured out what you're doing. Perma LightForm wouldn't need KB protection now would it ?? -
Hey gang!!
I'm slowly working through my 50s and incarnating them after returning a couple months ago after a three year break.
I've finished a brute (Adam Not So Quick), a Scrapper (Laney), and now it's time for Uncle Sas...my Warshade. He's always been one of my favorite characters which is why I'm working on him so early on.
My question is this: Where is the best place to slot the ATO set...and in particular, the Form Empowerment one. I've been looking through the various builds here in this section of the boards and many I see are putting the Empowerment ATO in something like Glinting Eye, but then putting the other five in a more commonly used power. Is there a specific reason for this?
To give you a little background (which may or may not affect your suggestions), I Tri-Form pretty heavily. He does have a Human Only build, but that hasn't worked out too well so I mainly use his Tri-Form build which I prefer much more. I use Human form basically for the buffs (Eclipse, Mire) as well as to summon pets from all those dead bodies. Then, depending on the team needs I either go to Nova for ranged damage or Dwarf for some wanna-be-tankering/Scrappering.
Any advice on the Kheldian's Grace ATO set placement, and specifically the Empowerment Form ATO placement, would be greatly appreciated.
Happy M-F'ing WARSHADING!!!
*Edit*-In another person's build, I saw the "Chance For Buildup" proc slotted in the Nova Form power. Can anyone provide any info on this? Does it fire every X amount of seconds while in Nova form? Unsure of this...I had it on my Brute slotted in Gloom...but obviously Gloom and Nova are very different powers that function completely differently. -
Sister Solaris arc (Flashback): Common
Dream Doctor arc (Flashback): Common
Just as an aside (not to be included in the data as I don't have exact numbers), I've run all the arcs on a couple different toons and have yet to get anything other than a Common or Uncommon. I've NEVER gotten a rare or very rare on any character from the DA Arcs. -
I've got an energy aura brute that I've been blasting through iTrials and the DA content with over on the Justice Server. With energy drain used at the beginning of mobs, his defenses are well over the incarnate cap. In addition, he is perma-hastened.
Incarnate wise, I went with Spiritual for the Alpha slot to get that extra +recharge and a little heal help on Siphon Life and Energize. For Interface he has Reactive for that extra damage. He also has perma-Barrier (which is honestly overkill with his great defensive numbers). He boasts Pyronic Judgement to add more AOE damage to go along with Soul Drain, Dark Consumption, and Dark Obliteration. He's no /Fire in terms of AOE damage, but he does VERY well in that department.
I, much like someone above, couldn't handle the thought of six slotting taunt even though the bonuses are nice. The thing I like most about this build is that you'll see that there are absolutely NO purple sets. He's been a tremendous farmer and thus has been able to save up many of them, but I'd rather save those purples for other toons that maybe need it. The most expensive parts of this build were the Eradications and the Kinetic Combats. (Hero Merits and Reward Merits helped purchased many of them).
Here's his build as it stands right now:

I feel like the "complainers" are trying to stiff-arm the devs into "MAKE IT SOMETHING GOOD OR ELSE!!!". I'm with many others who say that if it's free, I'll say a huge thanks, accept it, and go about my day. On some character somewhere along the line maybe I'll use it! Maybe I won't...but either way, free is free and I'm thankful.
Some people will never be happy.
Having been in the classroom as a teacher for going on 14 years now, I can tell you that you catch more flies with honey! Their response to "THIS SUX", "GIMME BETTER", and "I'M NEVER CHECKING FREEBIE FRIDAY AGAIN" may possibly be that they tried and and will just remove it. Alternatively, if they see the player base is checking in and grabbing their freebies they may be more inclined to throw us something a bit more valuable at times down the line.
If they had started with the elitest, uberist, most bestest Freebie Friday item, they would have nowhere to go but down...imagine the player base reactions if THAT were to happen! Starting with something like an XP Booster gives me hope that these Freebie Friday items are going to be great! An XP Booster, while not an ATO or whatever else people feel is 'valuable', IS useful. *Sure, people will have varying opinions on how useful they are*. If they had given out a cup of coffee, many would have been stoked!! I'm not a coffee drinker, so it wouldn't have been an ideal item for me, but that doesn't mean it's not useful to a huge percentage of others.
I definitely appreciate Freebie Friday and look forward to next week!! -
Which actually was useful. I had an enhancement +1'd...(think it was a Gift of the Ancients) and wanted to put it in storage. Interestingly, you are not able to store boosted enhancements. So, I passed it off to a friend to get rid of the +1, then he passed it back to me so I could go ahead and store it. Yes, the boost was gone, but atleast I got to store the enhancement which was ultimately the goal.

I'm not familiar with some of the names you mentioned, but I will say that @Celestriel has been a VERY welcoming, supportive, and helpful person to me since returning from a three year break a couple months ago. I've been trying to Incarnate a toon named Laney on Victory (which was and is my "home" server) and 9 times out of 10 it's been Celestriel throwing together those all important iTrials!! A GREAT leader...always answers questions and gives good directions and advice.
It's great to see such good people getting the recognition they deserve -
I can verify that I have had 2 toons that I haven't logged into for approximately 3 years logged in into Galaxy City (not Echo) just a couple days ago. I also couldn't find a way out...eventually using the base teleporter power to exit as I couldn't find ANY type of exit on the map.
