Quote:Are you forgetting you get extra component drops the first time you get any of the badges associated with the iTrials? It sounds like you may be counting the extras that can drop in this way. (Apologies if you accounted for this, but you didn't mention these extra drops, so I thought that might be a possibility.)Quote:Perhaps you're not aware that you get extra uncommon and common salvage for badges rewarded in the iTrials, and an extra rare salvage if you get a "Master of" badge. Otherwise, you get one component. You can only get the bonus salvage once, ever, per character, on a given trial.
OTOH, it was still a fun trial and I will be glad to run it again. Of course, I say the same thing about Keyes.
I would still choose the UG for crafting though. I have gotten from 14 to 17 threads each run. That is more than I have gotten out of running 3 BAFs back to back with the same league and minimal downtime. Yes I also got the component rewards from the BAFs, but at the end of 3 of them, both my computer and I were tired of running on teams for the night. (3 runs of anything in a row is pretty much my limit.) Running the 2 Undergrounds back to back wasn't tiring and it didn't feel repetitive because it is so much more varied than the BAF/Lambda. And I was still up for other trials. So the multiple BAFs are more efficient, but much less fun. And if it isn't fun, I have other things to do.
While I want my character to get T4s, I am not in any hurry. So if I get 3 or 4 different trials a day, I am getting the stuff I need but I am not getting burned out running the trials too much. And if I take a day off from running them, I don't feel like I am getting behind. And when they get the Signature arcs in, I will pick up threads or Astrals from those to help myself along until the solo path is added. But I only have 1 level 50. I am not surprised you are wanting more faster. -
Yeah, realized I had conflated a couple of Devs there just a little bit ago.

Quote:Yeah, but it also means you don't have to use Sauder furniture any more either. Might be worth it.Eh, when i accepted the EULA i lost my right to assemble. No more model kits or IKEA furniture for me.
Quote:i laughed so hard i cried. i'd forgotten how insanely goofy the animated Star Trek was.
This is an unaltered shot from the actual show, right?
The Slaver Weapon was written by Larry Niven. Introducing the Kzinti to the ST universe. They were then taken and seriously warped in Star Fleet Battles. The designers kept insisting that the animated stuff wasn't canon in their universe but never did explain how they got to use the Kzinti without including The Slaver Weapon.
I believe my geek is showing. Excuse me. -
I'm just going to comment it out. Lord knows what they will try next.

Quote:Or maybe, they figure that since they told people that purchased the Collector's Edtions that those items would be exclusive to those editions and not available any other way, they should stick with that. You know. Keep their word to their customers.- If it's a contractual payment issue, restructure the payment agreement to include sales from the Paragon Market.
- If it's an executive decision about packaging, convince the executives that their brilliant marketing strategy can be expanded and enhanced by making Power Slide available on the Paragon Market.
Go down to general discussions and look at the All Things Art thread. Massive amounts of people asking for just that. And some good responses from Noble Savage about it. -
Quote:Let me tell you man, you do not know what you are missing. It is a real experience. Especially once the FBI HRT showed up. Maybe I should have shaved my beard.Oh crap, I just logged in and accidentally accepted the new EULA and received an email saying I just lost my 19th Amendment. I guess I'll never have the right to vote as a woman.

Quote:I was having the same issue and tried logging out last night. When I logged back in today, it had updated my last time on the forums to when I logged out. If I just leave, it doesn't change my last time, even though I have to log in again when I come back.Ok, I logged in last night checked the remember me box read and posted etc. then came back this morning and had to login again. Alright whatever sometimes that happens. So I go off to have lunch and close my browser and come back and have to login yet again.
This wouldn't be so bad except that the boards memory of last read posts is still stuck on this mornings settings. So I have to hunt through active threads to figure out where I left off reading them.
Please someone fix it? -
They changed the formatting again. Green names are back, but it broke the size changing you had in the script.

Quote:The first Underground I ran, I got 3 components. 2 commons at the end plus the Rare on the Reward table. Second one I got 2, an uncommon and a common on the Reward table. The last one was a Rare at the end and an uncommon on the Reward table. My problem with the long trials is that my goal in gaining incarnate powers is not best facilitated by getting more Threads, Astrals or Empyreans (though Threads and Astrals [as thread proxies] can help). Instead, I am best served by more components. Sadly, running the UGT or Keyes means I am probably going go get 1/2 as many component table rolls at best compared to running multiple BAFs or Lambdas.
I might have missed it, but I have never noticed any extra components dropping in the other Incarnate Trials, so assuming that the extras are WAI, comparing 2 BAFs to 1 Underground looks like the Underground is a better payoff in components, Astrals, and threads (The least threads I have received is 14.) -
MMs and Controllers depends on the level of Premium he is. They are unlocked when he has completed Tier 5, which is 13 tokens. If he doesn't have that level or doesn't want to wait, he needs to purchase them. The Epics are purchase only.

If you go check out the All Things Art thread in the General Discussions forum, you can find a large section where Noble Beast is getting ideas for different looks for the Rocket Board and similar powers.

Quote:Wait, you are saying that during the creation of the character, you checked the name and reserved it, then when you were finished with the creation you tried entering AP and the name was taken? You didn't check another name or leave the character creator during that time did you? Because if that is what happened, then it was not WAI.I ran into an issue last night doing this. I checked a name, it was available and reserved for me. When I went to enter Atlas, it said the name was unavailable. A /getglobalname afterwards confirmed this.
If you left the character creator or checked another name, then you have given up the reservation. If you didn't then it was a bug and needs to be reported.
There was a bug like that in Beta where the reservation system wasn't allowing us to use the names we had reserved because they were reserved. That was annoying, but gotten around on the last screen by checking another name, then typing in the first one and entering the game. But it sounds like you found someone else had taken the name while you had it reserved. -
Quote:Yes, but in the bind he had, it would have also been toggling the Rocket Board on off, therefore shutting off the power he just turned on. Not what he was aiming for I don't think.Making a string of powexec_toggleon commands will allow you to repeatedly press the same button and activate all powers in it in sequence from right to left, however. It's a quirk in how the engine works.

The IO doesn't actually change level, it just gets more powerful. So you can continue to use it even if you are level 27, it is level 30 and you raise it to the equivalent of a level 35.
The nice part is, if you exemp down, it also continues to be a level 30 so you keep set bonuses longer. -

Quote:Sonic/Sonic, Science/Magic/Tech origin (These are the easiest to explain the powers, Mutant can work but doesn't feel right, Natural would be harder.) A musician/composer (famous or struggling, whichever works better for you) decides to use his knowledge of acoustics and the psychology of music to fight for good/get rich/gain fame, etc.. Seriously, Lyrik is rich with possibilities in terms of concepts and back story. And you can combine either Sonic set with other powersets to fit the mood of the character you want.Glad I'm not a high profile poster...or have any characters named Lyrik...actually...even I cannot think of any concept that would go with that name...
Fire - He can generate so much energy from the sound waves that it ignites materials.
Ice - He uses his control of vibrations to suck energy out of the target. (Super hero physics, anything can work.)
Dark - Part of the sounds are ultra-low frequencies, reaching into the dark dimensions and afflicting the targets.
Quote:I'm actually kinda sad nobody 'stole' my name. That means I'm a nobody!
At least your mom thinks you are. -
Quote:I had a red Targeted on my screen under the buff icons. I don't know what it meant, but the bloody thing had me targeted the entire time we fought it, both runs tonight. Of course, we had it targeted too.I'm 0 wins, 5 losses, and 1 disconnect on the Underground Trial. Failure has most often come about due to the War Walkers wiping out most of the league and taking down Desdemona while she's unguarded. Is there a visual for when someone has been targeted or am I simply losing it in the visual noise?
Had 2 good runs tonight. The first run missed the bombs in the side tunnels so didn't get that badge, second time, got all 4 badges.
Quote:Done it twice so far, both successful, though second time we got a little sloppy w/ the bombs...
The Spore Infested area is a pain if you run out of greens, no heals...and you're squishy. Think my Blaster died twice trying to get through it. -
Ran it twice tonight. First time, we only missed Preservation Specialist. Besides the bombs in the the direct path, there are 4 in the side tunnels in the curved section. Second time, we got all 4 badges so some people on their first run of the trial got Master. Not as hard to get as some of the other Master badges.
The second Avatar fight, he went down fast. But I didn't enjoy it much because I spent pretty much the entire time confused. I would target him, queue a punch, then suddenly be targeting another player. I don't think I actually hit him at all that fight. -
Quote:You can only turn on one power per bind. You can turn off as many as you want, but the opposite doesn't work.If I remember my binds correctly you can eliminate this whole de-toggling problem as well.
Just add "powexec_toggle_on Integration" or whatever toggle you want.
So it'd look like this;
/bind F "powexec_name Rocket Board$$powexec_name Sprint$$powexec_toggle_on Plasma Shield$$powexec_toggle_on Fire Shield"
You should be able to add all the toggles you want. That way when you turn it off, your toggles will activate. -
Quote:Yes. You can use the Titan Sentinel from the Titan Network to export your build to Mids. Also, if you didn't create your build in Mids, is there any way to export it from CoH and import it to Mids?

Quote:I had this last night after I changed my password to get into the forums. But I had forgotten that I had changed it and was using the old password.I'm in hell with this.
Last night I could log into the game but not the forums. So I changed my password.
Then I couldn't get into either of them. Finally I was able to log into the forums but now, I can't get into the game at all. I either get:
The username or password you have supplied is incorrect or
You must complete your Username and Password before logging in.
So I'm not particularly happy right now. With this issue and the added downtimes smack bang in the middle of EU peak times, my 'official headstart' has lasted approximately three hours in total. -
Quote:The voiceover stuff does show up in the the Cutscene Captions channel and either the Error or Rewards channel. You may not have the Cutscene channel on your characters if it was added after you started playing. I had to individually add it to all of my characters. But it will be there for all brand new players, so they can read what is being said. The only things I don't like are as follows:
-New tutorial is very short, and there doesn't seem to be an option for people who play with no sound. I didn't even realize there was a voiceover until I happened to play with the sound on last night.
-CoT wearing tights.
-New Atlas missions will get old quickly, they're pretty linear. That said, they ARE pretty cool.
-My computer sucks and I can't see how awesome Atlas Park looks now (not the game's fault, but it deserved a mention)
-The icons over the heads of contacts are kind of annoying. I can live with it, but I kind of wish there was an option to turn them off.
I certainly agree about the new missions in AP. Both the Habashy arc and the Training Missions. There was a lot in the old set up that was annoying, but at least you generally had options once you got to level 5. Now you get to 7 or 8 and if you don't know about Radio missions, you are going to end up running the sewer until 10 for the next Twinshot. They need more options in that level range, and a definite introduction to the Radio missions. -
Quote:Just about the only places I disagree with you are your last two sentences. (Actually, while I think they need to get the market cleaned up ASAP, you can't actually buy something you already own. Or at least if you can, it is a definite bug they need to know about.) I am afraid I am one of the weirdos that actually enjoy running Keyes when I have the time. I have only done the Underground Trial once, and it is mostly a slide show due to a very old computer, but it was a lot of fun for me.I personally think 80% of i21/Freedom is golden.
The costumes are great. The zones and zone changes are great. The new story arcs are great. Phasing has a lot of potential I hope they fully realize. I look forward to them continuing to revamp old enemy groups like they have the CoT. The Sewer trial is now a must for all lowbies. The new tutorial does its job and the interface and costume editor changes are welcome.
Buff/debuff sets do nothing for me personally, and I still don't see how Time Manip isn't conceptually just a rehash of Kinetics. I think the new travel powers could have been handled better, but I like that they've given City Traveler to everyone at last. Also, they need to get already bought items marked in the market and locked; NO ONE should be capable of buying something they already own under any circumstance.
But all the goodness doesn't excuse the Underground trial and Keyes before it.
Or how the devs continue to manage the melee AT situation and Tankers.
.
If your last sentence is in reference to your old argument about more damage for tanks, well, let's not go there right now.
There are some specific things about the tutorial, training missions, and the popups that should be changed or fixed for brand new players, IMO. And some of the prices are still a bit high. But overall, a very nice start to a new era of COH.
