Another vote for Cardiac here. If you're having endurance woes on an Invuln/TW tank, Agility's endmod really won't help you all that much. Cardiac, especially at the higher tiers, should solve your problems there nicely.
As CaptBell mentioned above, there are two general routes to take when choosing an Alpha. For my Tankers, I generally opt to strengthen my tanking role. Also keep in mind that (if you're willing to put in the time) you can craft multiple Alphas and switch between them (although there is a cooldown involved there, it's not very long). So you could have one Alpha for when you're playing main tank to a team or league and another Alpha for soloing or off-tanking. That's something to consider.
If you're not already doing so, I'd strongly recommend downloading Mids Hero Designer since that not only lets you design your IO build very well, but lets you look at the effects various Alphas will have on your build.
Personally, I would go for a Cardiac alpha along the core path as a primary alpha, and possibly a Musculature alpha for a second alpha for soloing purposes if you have the inclination. -
Suggesting they delete the powersets that you don't play or find interesting is rather short-sighted and selfish. A change to even one power in a powerset has dramatic implications for how it plays, and removing an entire powerset from the game would either force players using that powerset to change to something else (radically changing the character) or the character would become literally unplayable overnight.
It's a terrible decision from a Dev perspective as it adds nothing to the game and would make many players angry - some of them angry enough to quit the game forever. Not a very well-thought-out suggestion to make as it honestly has no possible upside for anyone. -
Those are both unlikely to ever happen, and with good reason.

Wow, way to miss the point. Once again the only one who's talking about playing nonstop here is you. The only one claiming anyone doesn't have a right to an opinion, again, is you. If a player chooses not 'check in' to use your terms, that's fine. Claiming a 'promise was broken' because the player is still working off old info they didn't bother to update - that's what was under discussion. Though I suppose it's more fun to quote out of context and pretend persecution. Yay hyperbole!

Basically what Xzero45 said. If the SG contained only your alts, then it should have still been there. SGs are never deleted by the game regardless of how long any players in the SG are inactive. The only way that an SG ceases to exist is if its membership hits zero (everyone is kicked from or quits the SG).
Since you logged in and are now not in an SG, it seems likely that you have at least one other person besides yourself in the SG who remained active after you left. After the SG leader has been inactive for a certain amount of days, leadership changes hands to another more active member of the SG automatically. After that, this new leader kicked you from the SG. One of two things likely occurred here:
1) The new leader removed you for extreme inactivity. In this scenario, the SG may still exist and if you can find a current active member, you could in theory secure a reinvite. If whoever happens to be running it now (leadership may have changed hands more than once) is agreeable, they might even reinstate you as leader.
2) The SG itself no longer exists. At some point, the leader kicked everyone from the SG and then quit the SG himself (or deleted his character), dissolving the group. This is sometimes a form a greifing but could also have been a mass exodus to a new SG home or any number of other possibilities.
You can check the SG Registrar to see if the SG still exists. Also make sure you're on the right server, as SGs are server-specific. If you transfer your character to another server for any reason, your SG does not go with you. -
Quote:It's not absurd unless you insist on taking it out of context. The suggestion wasn't that everyone needs to 'play the game nonstop' (pure hyperbole on your part) or even that everyone needs to participate in Beta.Because everyone plays this game non-stop and has enough free time to do just that.
Sir, this is the second time you've said something absurd today. This will not do!
The suggestion was that a player who reads an initial concept, fails to follow the ongoing evolution of that concept in beta (which he/she has the ability, if not necessarily the interest, to do), and then complains that the Devs 'broke a promise' does not have a leg to stand on. And I agree.
I personally rarely have the time (or frankly, the interest) to participate in beta. I recognize that I give up one of my main avenues of feedback to the Devs as a player by electing not to participate, and I'm fine with that. I don't, however, then retroactively accuse the Devs of deception when the thing I heard about a few months ago doesn't turn out precisely how I expected. Things go through a beta process for a reason. -
I have to agree, the hair and hat colors being linked really ruins it for many applications. It was a free costume piece, so I can't complain too much, but I'd get a lot more use out of this if the hair and the hat weren't set to the same colors.

Quote:'Obsolete' is a bit much, I think. Sure, they won't get you Hybrid, but plenty of people are hitting 50 with new characters all the time and wanting to incarnate them out, not to mention the Astrals and Empyrean Merits and badges to be earned. If you only do incarnate Trials on one character and you already have tier 4s of everything you have the slightest interest in then yes, the other trials are obsolete for you, but that's hardly everyone. We have aberrant game-play rather than a feasible means of unlocking the new slot. We need some other means. We have scads of trials that are now obsolete, because they won't grants any of the new iXP.
That said, if the Devs saw fit to include an alternate route to obtain regular iXP, then I fail to see how this is conceptually any different. Hopefully the solo route won't take quite so long to come to light this time. -
Welcome back! I'd strongly recommend you make use of Mids Hero Designer as you redo your build, if you aren't already.

If you want to play Storm then play Storm. Twilight Grasp is good, but not so good that it should prevent you from playing anything else. Besides, I'd encourage you not to rely too much on a heal anyway. I have MMs with both secondaries and they're both effective. I don't see any pressing reason to argue against /Storm here. Everyone knows how good Dark Miasma is but Storm Summoning is excellent as well, just not in the same way. Don't try to make O2 Boost into Twilight Grasp and you'll do fine. Embrace the set for what it is and enjoy, it's a wild ride.

In your OP you've set out two things that are slightly contradictory - solo play and TF tanking. Now, you can do both these things as a Brute and many Brutes do, but to be the 'best' or most optimized at solo play is going to mean taking away from tanking ability and the reverse is also true.
The problem is that in solo play, your primary concern is damage output. You need to survive just slightly longer than the bad guys you're fighting. That's it. That's all. Any further energy put into survivability is likely energy you could be putting into being a better damage output machine, so you won't. You'll invest your slots, Set Bonuses and incarnate powers (if VIP) towards the primary goal of dealing damage.
If you're tanking for a team or league, your priority is almost the exact opposite. Damage is nice, but the primary job you're trying to fill is one of survivability. You're therefore going to make very different choices. Now it's damage that's just 'good enough' and surviving that needs to excel.
One build can be good at both, but can't be 'best' at either. Not at the same time anyway. This is a good use for the second build, though of course designing two high-end builds to cover both ends of the spectrum involves twice the investment. As far as specific powersets, I would go Dark Armor as it's one of the most versatile armor powersets and very amenable to IOs as nearly all its negatives can be minimized or eliminated with good IO slotting. Electric Armor is also a solid choice. As for primaries, Titan Weapons is very hard-hitting. I like Electrical Melee for Lightning Rod. That's just off the cuff though - most primaries and secondaries will work well if slotted carefully. -
Quote:While this is of course quite correct, I do still see people who have done it from time to time. Often it seems to involve the baffling practice of playing while drunk/high.You cant 'accidently' delete a character because to delete one you have to select the delete button and then type that chars name - would be really hard to do this accidently. But someone who has access to the OP's computer and or account could delete them if they wanted to. Hubby is always threatening the latter if I'm tardy with leaving the game to get him a meal.

If you've checked all four pages on each server (to make sure you didn't just misplace the character or clicked a different server by mistake), then I think just pressing on makes sense - it doesn't take very long to make up progress into the teen levels anyway.
I would seriously consider changing your password if you don't find your characters. -
Maybe he means he accidentally deleted them, or someone else with access to his account deleted them? "Lost" could mean several things.
Ironblade is correct, characters really shouldn't be lost for any other reason than deletion by a player. Even if they're blatant violations of the EULA they just get their names and costumes reset to default - you don't lose levels or have the character deleted or anything like that.
Now, if these characters were deleted (either accidentally or maliciously by someone else with access to the account) then you need to put a ticket in with support. Do NOT make a new character with the name as it's my understanding this makes the original character less likely to be recovered. I've actually never been in this situation myself, but that's what I've gathered over the years from those who have. -
You might actually have had a shot if the genders were reversed (sometimes the little tykes can hide that significant portion of their anatomy and get falsely called as girls on the ultrasound), but if they call a boy on the ultrasound then, well... yeah.
Congratulations to the soon-to-be-growing MP family! -
Quote:Emphasis added.(seriously, I've said it enough times but the scene where he's talking to himself, trying to picture himself telling Louis the he is Superman is downright amazing), he was written really well, he was the everyman.
Unless they've made a rather radical change in DC continuity that I'm not aware of, you most likely mean Lois. -
It's been mentioned already, but definately pick up some of the DC animated features as they are all very well done. My personal favorites are the Wonder Woman film, both the Green Lantern films (especially Emerald Knights, which is in an anthology format) and the various short films which are all collected on the Superman vs Shazam release. The Green Arrow short is a particular favorite among them of mine.
I think if you give those a watch, you'll see something of a leveling of the playing field. Then it becomes "How come DC can't do this good in live action?" and that's a question all of us have been asking for years. -
If I use the proc at all, I generally put it in a click power on the theroy that I'd rather have the effect be useful every time I get it even if most of the time I know I won't (as opposed to a toggle, where I may very well get the effect while doing nothing).
Of course, if I'm going for the Defense bonus for six-slotting the Set, that's another matter, and I do have Tactics six-slotted with this on a few characters, but it was more to get the bonus and less a conscious decision regarding the placement of the proc. -
Quote:Yes, she's an unlockable contact and you do need to get the badge before you can do her arc. Bonus points for the reference, btw.Don't you need the Pirate badge to access her? Or whatever badge you get for ghost trapping 10 ghost pirates. (Or is that pirate ghosts?)

Thanks to everyone who came out for this event!
For those who missed it or came in late, I'm planning on doing another identical event sometime in late June or early July - details will be provided a few weeks in advance here on the forums and on the LB global channel in-game once I nail down the next date. I'll be shooting for a Friday evening next time as this was on a Sunday afternoon, to try to offer as much flexibility as possible. -

There really isn't a clear 'best', so trying to rank a 'three most used' and 'three least used' is going to be subjective. You'll get different answers from different people.
Most Defender powersets offer a mix of buffs, debuffs and/or control. The powersets that are more debuff-heavy tend to do better solo, since many of the buffs are only useful if you have allies around to use them on. I'd therefore recommend Dark Miasma, Radiation Emission or Storm Summoning for someone who wants to solo.
The Cold, Thermal, Sonic and Force Field and Empathy powersets all have a significant number of ally-only buffs (although Cold and Thermal less so), so these powersets will do better in a team setting.
The above is all very over-generalized, however - there will always be exceptions based on the player and the build in question. You really won't go wrong with whatever you choose. -
