  1. Looks like the lilly-livered jelly was just waiting until he thought we'd all given up!

Good job all who made it to the surprise party.
  2. Thanks once more to the participants and especially the organisers.

I made it about 63 minutes from the Hami tank entering the goo - not bad at all.
  3. Hopefully make it (if you have space) with Judgement Dave (50 blaster).

The only real issue last week with the holding phase was the sudden shortage of Grav Controllers. If that one lone Singularity owner had disconnected, we'd have been in some trouble there.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I know I don't have a high enough troller, and may be talking through my backside, but...

If the singularities go, can't you target through the Hami tank?

Just asking, as when I've been assisting the Hami tank empaths, I've usually kept the tank as my target for the brawl phase. And AFAIK, the tank usually still targets Hami directly in the hold phase.
  5. Can't make it this week (unless Midge Ure gets stuck in snow...) - good luck withh the raid. Sure it'll go smoothly.
  6. [ QUOTE ]

it seems we've got the hang of it

Edited for truth and potential hubris humour value.

Thanks again Lost, Tsumi & co for organising this - see you at next weeks winning raid! (hubris humour again??)

I say treat scrappers like children. Give them enough to stop them moaning but not more than they can handle, and always keep one eye on them.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not wanting to annoy scrappers, as there are a lot of good ones out there, but that's probably because a lot of newer and younger players seem to take scrappers - i.e. a fair number possibly are children.

I blame the manual and AT descriptions for saying that scrappers are best for solo play - so a lot of people new to CoX/MMOs possibly pick them just in case it's hard to find teams or because they want a soloable character whilst they learn the game.

Back on topic - the opening poster did nothing wrong. I'm sure the whole team would have got frustrated if there was a wipe from lack of communication. Much better to say what you're doing and possibly irritate the odd person than irritate everyone because there was no communication.

Oh - and regarding the room of death: I often prefer to clear the floor (using a pull) after the ramp. Often seen the mobs on the floor get aggro'd after spotting players near the edge of the middle platform - though it's not always immediately apparent. Result: team moves on to next group on the top balcony and the mobs on the floor attack mid-battle (after running halfway around the room to use the ramps).
  8. Welcome to the forums, Maiden_Ty_1.

Thanks again Lost & co for organising the raid.

A bit of a rocky start in the Hami Tank team tonight, which wasn't helped by the odd dc. Thanks to Cryoburn who stepped up to tank when Officer Cuffz dcd - both did a fine job.

May be worth on future raids making sure that a backup tank is designated before the start - the empaths can get a wild assortment of binds/macros set up then.

(I believe we had a tank had to drop out this time, which is probably why a backup wasn't ready just in case... just worth making sure that a backup is chosen befoe they are needed in future.)
  9. Thanks for organising another win for Union.

Sadly, we must have got too good now, looks like the devs may do some changes to Hami in I9. So maybe only 2 or 3 months more raiding before tactics need revisiting.

I'm half-tempted to shave my character bald for the raid in penance; that, or give him a ridiculous haircut, like maybe a luminous green mohawk?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Eh? What you saying about luminous green mohawks?

Exengel may have a green costume for Hami (being an empath) - but the mohawk stays. And it is kinda luminous green...
  11. Work withstanding, count me in! No doubt as Exengel (empath) again (damnit JD - level that ill troller or scrapper).
  12. Sounds a reasonable idea to me (and gives me another reason to level my scrapper...)
  13. Thanks to Lost and co for organising tonight.

It's fair to say that Hami felt the love...

    my collection

Feels a bit fantasy based... but I want it!

    [ QUOTE ]
Zombify: You become a full member of the living dead for three minutes. Your resistance to damage, accuracy and damage output is increased greatly, but your movement speed is decreased and your ability to use travel powers it taken away. When this is in use, you cannot use any resistance or defence toggles accept for Dead Weight. Think of this as a cross between Granite Armour and Rage but only lasts for three minutes. Very long recharge.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Depending on your preferred style of zombie, I'd have thought that it may be +damage, +resistance, -defence, -accuracy, -speed with a unmezzable quality. I'd also maybe throw in high end-sapping resistance... zombies just go on, they are slow but don't tire.

Yeah - I'm more from the school of lumbering brutish zombies than fast moving undead!

    [ QUOTE ]
Undead Instincts: You gain the natural instincts that the undead have, these include finding enemies and ignoring pain.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Shouldn't that be un- or super- natural?

BTW - if they could do the Zombify power with bits of dead flesh falling off, then the physics engine would be well worthwhile!
  15. I know work is going to get hectic in Jan, but hopefully I'll be able to get Exengel (empath) to the party.

    Have a good Christmas all.
  16. Thanks Sal & co - an enjoyable raid. Union doing Hami twice in 3 days... we're almost turning American

Anyone sold the film rights yet?
  17. RL permitting I'll have Exengel (empath) there again.
  18. My counting may have gone to pot... but I think you still have room.

If so, I'll see you just before 3 with JD!

    Trials

    Only just noticed the thread.

Had a great time yesterday with the Sewer Trial and Croatoa TF (as Hexenhammer and Qyzyx). Thanks to all for the fun (and Stryker for organising it, and Paleface for starting the Croatoa TF for us).

    [ QUOTE ]
72 mins i think we said it took in all

    [/ QUOTE ]
    We were never that quick!

It was 76 minutes and about 20 seconds from start of 1st mish to the end! Still a darn good time since we were'nt actively trying to race through it...
  20. Big gratz FG - On the 50 and making you're annual accomplishment list!

And darn fun teaming with you (and all the team) today.
  21. Judgement_Dave

    FG's Run To 50!?

We've broken for about an hour or so... so probably no point in popping on to see how it's going until 6pm GMT.

And yes... it is great fun.

    FG's Run To 50!?

I'd best get off to bed then if I'm to try my hardest to make it!

If I do make it out of my pit... and you have space... fancy a NRG blaster or a pure team-build empath?

If I don't make it or your team is full (or you don't want/an idiot like me!) good luck on getting to the big ding!

    The Raptors

Not wanting to derail the thread, but Brimmy wrote:
    [ QUOTE ]
just a thought though, and correct me if i'm totally wrong here, but wasnt the raptor a "land based" creature? (dinosaur you know)

    [/ QUOTE ]
AFAIK raptor for a bird of prey has been about for a long time before the bones of the velociraptor dinosaur was discovered. Yeah - They are velociraptors. Not sure if raptor was a common abbreviation of the name before Jurassic Park, or if it was shortened for the film so that dialogue flowed easier.

Given that birds are often held to be closely related to dinosaurs, finding the skeleton of what appeared to be a fast hunter may have lead to velociraptor as a fairly obvious name.

The F22A stealthfighter is also called Raptor - again fairly obvious name for a fighter jet.

    SS TF 2

    Thanks for organising that Noir!

Darn good fun - hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did!
