  1. On the Beta server I put a T4 Core on an Invul Tractor with 71.XX% S/L and it pushed it to 80.XX%

Also, 32.81% Energy Res to 36.68%.

According to Real Numbers, if they're to be believed.

Honestly, at the Incarnate level, anything that can kill me IGNORES Resistance.

Or will still be fatal even at the Resistance cap.

Or is Psionic damage, which no Alpha will bolster me against because I don't have actual powers that resist it for an Alpha to enhance.(Unless you think 1% more Defense from Combat Jumping is going to do jack).

This is exactly what makes it a WIR example.

And like other WIR examples, she's an otherwise capable female character, a hero from the 1960's to at least the mid 1980's, but she died not in the line of duty, with her boots on so to speak, but as a hostage damsel in distress dispatched with no effort (and in the case of the hero arc, off camera/off panel).

Superman died in a heroic 1v1 with a monster only he could fight.

Batman died facing down a god.

Batgirl was crippled in her bath robe by the villain who wasn't even aware she was important, just to get a rise out of Commissioner Gordon and Batman.

Statesman's daughter is Alexis Cole-Duncan, who was known as is Miss Liberty.

Her daughter and Statesman's granddaughter is Megan Jessica Duncan, who goes by Ms. Liberty. The one who trains heroes in Atlas Park.

    *Sigh*

Arc part 3 continues the trend of the hero side version being an inferior near copy of the villain version just with parts removed. Villains continue to get extra information and a major reveal while the heroes are denied the whole picture. In other words, you don't really lose out on anything from only playing the villain arc, but heroes are denied parts of the story in their arc.

And while villains don't get an exclusive cool temp power this time, heroes don't either when they should; to balance against getting nothing cool from the first two arcs.

Oh wait, heroes do get something this time. They get FORCED TO FAIL. Warburg is still full of Rogue Arachnos. A hero is dead, pointlessly.

    Villains execute a beloved hero.
    Heroes get to lose.
Devs get to stuff another woman into the refrigerator.

Must be getting crowded in there with the bodies of Seer Katie, Vanessa DeVore and War Witch.

I agree with you but...we're NOT going to get that.

It's going to be a trial, you and 23 others against a crushing AV that it probably going to be at least a level 54+4. And you WILL have to run from colored patches on the ground. Of this I am nearly certain.

We may have started our quest to defeat Cole solo, and for level 1-20 you could go it alone.

But we're not going to get our grand climax and resolution.

We don't get to be Rocky Balboa fighting Drago, or Ripley versus the Alien Queen. No Optimus Prime vs Megatron throwdown. No Luke versus Darth Vader.

Instead, it's going to be Darth Vader versus Luke, Han, Chewie, Leia, Billy Dee Williams, C3P0, R2D2, Porkins, Admiral Ackbar, Jar Jar Binks, Kirk, Spock and half the the Rebel Alliance forces all crammed into one room, running from colored patches on the ground and obeying the red text.

The beginning does make sense for Kheldians.

Maybe the 'coexistence cast asunder' is humans coexistence with the Kheldians.

    One possibility:

This is about the Kheldians on the Rikti home world. At one point they coexisted with the humans there. We know in the past of Primal Earth there were Khelds from the Cimerora content. We know the Rikti were first mutated by an alien race around 2000 BC according to the wiki. Maybe it was the Kheldians? Then something happened and they were driven from Earth. The Rikti "killed their gods" according to other lore and we know the Cimerorans sure view the fuzzies as 'Dark Gods'.

Maybe Cimerora is the point of divergence between our Earth and Rikti Earth.

  11. In November 2009, the devs "opened the Omega Team's time capsule". One of the items revealed was a list of predictions by Branforth the Seer.

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Branforth_the_Seer

At the time, players speculated about their meaning.

Going Rogue had just been announced that spring. So, now that some time has passed, have any of the predictions become clearer with time.

    Quote:
    1. I often dream of things unbidden, secrets reveal'd and secrets hidden, Future, past, or not to be, I cannot say with certainty, But in case I won't return, these visions from my letter learn, And so before Omega leaves... I here entrust you with these dreams.

    2. The glor'ous monarch will defend, his homeland to the bitter end, An army built to soothe all doubts, but ripples show in upstart bouts, Make you choice: red blue or gray, choose who to spurn and who obey, You'd like to think there's no price dear, but the real world is not so clear.

    3. I saw a mirror torn apart, thousand-spiraling work of art, Behind a veil was once a fool, now its creation is its tool, Suffered from a mighty fall, seeks again to consume all, To face it our heroes prep, to win just watch that first step.

    4. A peaceful race comes from afar, a living message in a jar, Find they cannot grow any more, into new flesh they are reborn, Silence breaks by the gods thunder, coexistence cast asunder, Now just one culture slow to change, not evil pure but surely strange.

    5. Bloated life which has not a peer, gobbles all that mankind holds dear, The hive will grow to rise and fall, all will battle the monster tall, Across the way a mirror flow'r, has no such foes slow its devour, Not placated with scraps to eat, it's rage shall spark leader's retreat.

    6. A thousand men with javelin, fight to compound their master's sin, Darkly corrupt by twilight gaze, a secret deal to end our days. Hero, villain, that time forgot, what do they know that we do not? Side-by-side both sides excel, fighting for time-warped parallel.

    7. Time's river's course is left to run, till shattered by the million suns, Eternal gear comes back to warn, all must beware the coming storm, From ice and flame and tests of will, forgotten deeds one can fulfill, Has he made strong by accident, those whose acts will despair prevent?

    8. No purse to snatch or kid to nab, is fashioned by a novel lab, But legends writ and lore create, as cohorts play and strangers rate, Easy to praise; the virtues plain, of fighting just to entertain, Endless time spent in sirens dens, yet who will save real citizens?

    9. The iron turns into crystal, their doomsday shall be missed til, When a pair of fives arrives, power flows and power drives, The spinning rod lives again, then destroyed in evil's den, Mere prelude to what bright hell, comes from drinking of the well.

    10. Man kills brother; sets into motion, a hundred lifetimes of commotion, Meticulous manipulation, attempts to take this very nation, Within mirrors glow he finds a pawn, his trick forces them to take us on, We shall fall for his games no longer, that which challenges makes us stronger.

    11. The web is formed in careful craft, since fatal rescue on a raft, Wraith- beast- hulk- thief- prepare for war, the mastermind will hide no more, Let loose the tide of villain mix, heroes will gain their own new tricks, And in the end; a world fini, unless the one stops destiny.

    12. Create new thing which heals or harms, accelerate the race of arms, A million more to buy and trade, the inventors must all be paid, A flood of brains rain in the town, but evil lurks to bring all down, The helmed one strikes with draining web, the war comes to a crucial head.

    13. You may have seen all that I say, or await it another day, Of many things I have not dreamt, events the gods have not yet sent, And do forgive this awful curse, the fates decree I write in verse, Wish I were there to interpret, but battle calls and must be met.

    My thoughts:
I'm generally in agreement with the wiki on the meanings, except for #9.

I believe the 'pair of fives' are the ten Incarnate slots, as is the reference to drinking from the Well. I have no clue what the iron turning to crystal or the 'spinning rod' are yet. Possibly something related to the 'Who Will Die?' arc?

GG's comment, while true, does not present a completely accurate view of the situation.

The devs will give access to TW to anyone who asks. You just have to be lucky enough to run into a dev that's online that has the authority to do so.

The problem is the store running on beta is woefully out of date. It doesn't even have Street Justice in this build. Them giving TW to people manually on demand is currently the only viable solution

Rather than spend time and resources to update the store just for the beta server or write a script to give it to every account, they're working to finish up i21.33, which is obviously priority.

None of that fixes Tankers, however.

What alternative is there? Aside from never ever using your powers?

The US government would not tolerate any individual that powerful that they could not directly control.

You couldn't hide. If you could fly, they'd pick you up on radar and track you by satellite. They'd figure out pretty quick where your base of operations was from the patterns of anyone who sights you.

If you turned yourself in, they would not hesitate to try and cut you to pieces to find out how you worked.

Going public or getting the people's backing and support (if you even could), wouldn't help. The feds would attack you on a busy afternoon in Times Square in front of a crowd of millions and claim it was for national security. And they'd blame you for any casualties they cause.

Even if you did nothing but catch falling planes, they'd just use the media to spin that it was you making them crash in the first place.

Really, it has to come down to you or them. Like you said, either you seize control, or those in control will destroy you.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman:_Secret_Identity
IMO, Superman: Secret Identity is probably the most "realistic" story about what would happen if someone half-decent got super powers 'in the real world', but even then I find it incredibly naive and overly optimistic.

It didn't even have to 'be someone like Phoenix Jones' in the sense of a costumed guy who personally intervenes.

It would have just had to been someone who didn't just look out the window and go back to bed when they saw it was someone they didn't know. Or someone who didn't just let 'someone else' call the police.

I've made it one of my personal goals in life to give the middle finger to the Bystander Effect. More places need so-called Good Samaritan laws to protect people legally who try to help and provisions that make it mandatory to come to aid or summon emergency services or be held accountable if they don't reasonably try.

Right, but that's a flaw with another game's implementation of environmental weaponization, not with the mechanic/concept itself.

    Quote:
Honestly if you want something like this for SS why not ask them to change hurl to be like propel and have the object hurled be random instead of just a rock?
    Two reasons:

    1) Because that really doesn't do what's being sought. It doesn't let you pick up a car and throw it or improvise with the heavy objects at hand. It's a poor, poor kludge, pretty much as poor of one as Hurl is already.

    2) People have asked for that in the past. Many times. It's just not priority for the devs.

IMO, the majority, if not all of the flaws in this game stem from a simple fact: the people calling the shots on the team do not respect the genre and would rather butcher it and force a round peg to conform to an outdated fantasy game mechanics square hole rather than create mechanics that better support the chosen genre.

It's as if someone was working on a racing game that didn't really like racing games and so they designed it like a half baked RTS because they really like playing Command and Conquer in their downtime.

I see it differently. I see it as SS getting ripped off.

SS should be able to pick up heavy things. That's something intrinsic to the concept.

Allowing just anyone to wield a gigantic heavy sword tramples all over that niche.

"So, you get two 'powers' in one; super strength and swordsmanship."

It's like if they made a defensive powerset called "Energy Barrier" that let you form protective forcefields from energy and one of the powers was to form the energy into a shield shape and throw it at enemies, ricocheting off each of them them before returning to you.

That's an ability that by all rights belongs conceptually to Shield Defense. It's one long wanted in SD and something iconic any layman would expect a shield user to be capable of. Shouldn't SD fans have the right to be ticked off by that?
    I'd think so.

This is essentially the same thing, IMO. Titan Weapons is at its core a 'pick up heavy thing' power set, and as long as SS isn't allowed to weaponize the environment and pick up heavy things properly, they're just rubbing salt in the wound.

Following that setback, Tyrant tried to use mindwashed Resistance prisoners to convince the people of Praetoria that the Resistance and their Primal Earth allies were dangerous terrorists, but we stopped that plan at the BAF - and then followed it up with a major strike against Lambda Sector, the main millitary facility in Praetoria City
That gave us much more freedom to operate inside the city, giving us the chance to take over the Keyes Island Reactors, which not only power the invasion portals and warwork factories, but also power the sonic fences - and with those under out control, the loyalists can't use them to as a weapon against us and the Praetorian people, like they did when they slaughtered most of the citizens in First Ward using the sonic fences there.
We then discovered the secret of Tyrant's deal with the Hamidon, but also found out that it was waking up and planning to wipe out the rest of humanity because it believes that Tyrant has broken the deal - so our next move is to take over the TPN tower and broadcast the truth about Tyrant and the Hamidon to the population, and further weaken the loyalist dictatorship, and possibly start an uprising among the people.
The real question is where do we go from there.
The truth is out, how does Tyrant react. How do the people react.

The way I see it, there's two good possibilities.

    1. Everyone freaks out and riots so Tyrant turns his IDF on them with lethal intent to put down anyone in the streets and the next trial is us playing both riot cops and defeating desperate IDF and PPD.

    2. Mother Mayhem steps in and tries to use the Seer Network to either:
    a) Wipe the news broadcast from everyone's memories/rewrite their memories so Hamidon returning is a Primal plot.
    OR
    b) Forcefully pacify and dominate the minds of everyone in Praetoria at once.

Since the network was not designed for this and her mind cannot possibly handle the feat without the psychic backlash killing everyone, we have to go in and shut her down for good.
