I prefer the blaster role of damage. Just damage. Damn the torpedoes, balls to the wall, offense is the best defense, if I wanted protection I would have made a scrapper, damage.
Ranged or melee, no difference to me. With hurdle and combat jumping the two are practically the same thing anyway.
Risk vs. reward. Oh, I get mezzed or defeated sometimes? So what, that's the risk part. -
When in doubt, Fire^3. Screw the gimmicks, balls to the wall, damn the torpedoes, blastin' bejungus!

Police Chief: "There will be substantial influence for the hero that captures Frostfire, but I want him taken alive." (points accusingly at the beam rifle blaster) "NO disintegrations!"
-
You want to giggle while playing a Beamer? Fight some Freakshow, they just love energy damage. Pew pew pew!
Disintegration. Not a pretty way to get "arrested". -

This would be better if they recreated classic battles as dance-offs. Vader vs. Luke, Han vs Greedo, etc.
"Han served first!" -
This reminds me of every convention dance party I've been to in recent years. Although I don't see slave girl pole dancing so it's not nearly as good. Still, this is deliciously nerdy and hilarious. I'm glad some developers still have a sense of humor; not every game needs to be srs bzns.

If nothing else, inspirations are why I normally pass on the god-mode powers. A boost to my survivability when I need it, regardless of what powers are recharged, and no messy crash.

Quote:Plz don't explode teh puppehz./Traps, Well, you can never really go wrong with /Traps. Yes, it does require a certain playstyle, but it has quite a bit of help to give your beasts. The Force Field Generator, while it does move slow, it recharges quick enough that you can just resummon it at whichever spot you moved to. You will be restricted to being in melee range with your pets, or you miss out on most of the power, so you will have to build up some self protection... Debuffs galore, some controlling ability when you give Poison Trap the Lockdown proc, One of the best alpha absorbers in the game, and the possibilty of exploding wolves. What's not to love?

Spend extra money beyond my monthly fee? Nah. It may be worth it to some, but it wouldn't be the first item I turned down.

Quote:Here's something fun you can do with the Force APP: Repulsion Bomb. It looks so simple, another AoE attack. But it's true sinister power is just below the surface.I've checked into the APPs and... none of them make much sense to me - why do I need More Attacks?
Try this:
1) Aim or Buildup, take your pick.
2) Repulsion Bomb. This causes standard AoE damage and knocks everything down. Regular knockdown. Now the group is helplessly at your (lack of) mercy for the next few seconds.
3) Energy Torrent.
4) Follow up IMMEDIATELY with Explosive Blast. Note that it takes a half second or so before the damage and knockback from Energy Torrent kicks in, so as long as you trigger Explosive Blast right away it will still tag everything regardless of whether Energy Torrent causes knockback or not.
Congratulations, you just defeated every minion and crippled every lieutenant, without them having any chance to even lift a finger in retaliation. -
Stalker version of claws will break any melee addiction.
Or make an AE map with nothing but Tsoo Sorcerers alternating Hurricane and Chill of the Night. -
I have to admit, paying for Free makes me giggle.
But those names are far too boring for me. Do you have XxX Asass1n XxX.? (MUST have the period at the end) -
Don't forget to color it bright pink for Cotton Candy Blast.

Yes, this is an excellent way to Win Friends and Influence People.
I've done that with Team Teleport (the pool power) before. Someone on the team said "pull?" so I pulled everyone in. -
Any Stalker primary with less than two AoEs.
Empathy.
Stone Armor. -
I used to have a sonic/mm/elec build similar to the one above. Although these days, I think I'd rather go with Leviathan Mastery for the cone attacks there instead.

Are you using inspirations?
Remember, if you're the only one on the map and you're killing enemies by the dozen, inspirations will drop very quickly. You can also setup macros and hotkeys to convert inspirations for you if you don't have quick mouse skills.
I've ran a few low defense AoE-oriented blasters through (whatever) farms by spamming inspirations this way. About the only problem I've ran into is the lack of an aggro aura, so enemies run away a lot. -

Quote:You may want to look into Repulsion Bomb in the Force Mastery APP. It knocks everything down safely from a distance. I use it a lot, and like you said, everything dies before they can stand up. Arguably one of the single best powers a blaster can take.I have a Fire/Fire blaster who barely gets scratched when I use this. Mostly because anything that gets sat down dies before it can get back on its feet again. The knockdown is priceless.
Hell, if I could get it up every spawn I'd even forgo the damage component completely. I spew enough AoE without it. Teleport in, everyone has a seat and then the roller coaster starts.
