  1. Just wondering if I'm the only one who does this with the Windows 7 circle-thing while the game loads.

  2. Blowing up lab equipment in Crey Lab maps sometimes gives Keen Sight, which is +50% to hit for 5 minutes.

Not really reliable for our purposes though.
  3. It's worth noting that even blasters have single target ranged attacks shorter than 80 feet that were not mentioned to be expanded. For example, the tier 1 immobilize powers on many secondaries.

Maybe a set with both a 40 foot tier 3 attack, and a snipe. That way you can truly test out all of the new blaster benefits. That would be Fire, Rad, or Energy, I believe.

Tier 3 blasts are so useful because the are concentrated damage on a specific target of your choice. If voltaic Sentinel has the equivalent DPS of the tier 3 blast, but spreads that damage around in a random uncontrolled fashion, it will still be vastly inferior to a true tier 3 blast. Honestly, if the goal is to bring Electric Blast up to par with other sets, I don't think that would be enough.
  8. So, I was digging through my planner, checking out my builds, and looking at the 22% tohit thing. For the most part I'm ok here, as I already take a kismet on every set (yea I love overkill tohit). Then I get to a character with /dark manipulation.

To get the same tohit boost as buildup on other characters, I need to hit 10 targets with Soul Drain. Argh, that's annoying, not all blasters want to solo fighting a dozen targets at a time.

Will Touch of Beyond still require a tohit check? On /mental, Drain Psyche has a to hit but it's AoE, so it's nearly guaranteed to hit at least something. If Touch of Beyond just sorta fizzles 5% of the time, that will be a real downer as well.

So, I dunno ... I'm not as excited for this one particular character.

Maybe instead of respecing my existing build, I'll use the 2nd build slot so I can turn it on and off. "Clap On" *clap clap* "Clap Off" *clap clap* ...
  10. Oddly enough, my Elec^3 also has neither the snipe nor the clap. And while I'll likely change my build to take advantage of this, remember that I need to give up something else to get it. So it is definitely not a FREE boost.

Now that I think about it, I've had tohit in the combat attribute monitor list on my main blaster for a while now. There are a lot of things in the game that debuff tohit. I'm not talking about the big, super noticeable ones like Circle of Thorns. Lots of little things that bounces tohit up and down by small amounts all the time. For example, New Dark Astoria is pretty much non-stop in small amounts, not enough to be all that noticeable in normal play, but with quick-snipes on the line it could be a really big deal.
  12. Hmm, I think all the non-snipe sets have a 40-foot blast that will still get boosted. Probably not enough, comparatively speaking, but at least it's something.

So the attack chain might go BU->snipe->other stuff-> snipe->other stuff->Aim->snipe->other stuff->snipe->other stuff. Even though BU and Aim are not collectively up all the time, you could actually buff every use of sniper blast as it became available if you simply waited until snipe was available or about to become available before using BU or Aim. The actual "penalty" for not being able to buff snipe "all the time" might actually be almost non-existent until you get to builds with very fast cycling snipes.
This is my thinking as well. I already cycle buildup and aim on my high-recharge fire^3, and one of the two are running far more often than not.
  14. I am shocked kismets haven't completely sold out on the market yet. No biggie for me since I usually get them other ways, but I was expecting someone to gobble them all up by now.
  15. Not really "resists", but you could try mixing in an attack set with debuffs/mezz/knockdown/etc. Stone Melee Fault, Dark Melee -tohit, even Air Superiority (always hilarious juggling a boss non-stop). There's some holds in the APPs as well.

It works for squishies, and it works just as well on the crunchies.
  16. Back when I had Bonfire on my Dom, I found the text spam to be completely hilarious. But yea, annoying I suppose.

    Blapper Help

If you want Energy blaps, maybe try mixing with Radiation primary? Cosmic Burst comes with a stun effect to stack with the blaps (also to fill attack gaps since blaps are not all that fast to recharge), plus a fast-activating point-blank AoE as long as you're in melee. And then there's Oppressive Gloom in the Soul Mastery APP if you want to get really silly with stuns.

Yea sonic makes it really easy:
    1) Sleep group
    2) Pick an enemy and stun it
    3) Defeat the stunned enemy
    4) Go back to 2 until all are defeated

Hmm, a resist set stacking with a -damage debuff, regen/hp/absorb to heal it back, includes toxic/psi/end, and no holes in the mez protection. Sounds like it has potential to me.
  20. I24 Blaster Inherit: reverse debt, makes them level FASTER instead of slower. And an inherit self destruct power. :P
  21. Oddly enough, I find soloing at x8 easier than x4 or so (+0 mind you). With that many bodies dropping inspirations, I can actually keep the skittle defense and healing going the whole map as long as I don't need to slow down.
  22. I generally team with my Bane, and use this play style on each group of enemies:

Step 1) Little prep work. Make sure all toggles are running. Summon pets if available. Pick something ugly and Surveillance it.

Step 2) AoE attacks! Open with the venom grenade, and follow up with whatever I have available until most the weaker stuff is defeated. Depending on team kill speed this may be right after the venom nade, or may require burst/frag/bile/whatever. I've found two more AoEs to be sufficient most of the time.

Step 3) Switch to melee and finish off survivors. Placate a boss and shatter it, whatever, whip out that mace and start smashing faces in.

This is very fun and I really feel like I'm helping the team, from start to finish.
  23. Isn't there a NPC you can talk to that tells you how many hours that character has spent playing? I'd be interested to hear how long that took.

  25. Here's how to make bean bag a fun choice.

    1) Find a minion. Eliminate his buddies if he's not alone first.

    2) Beanbag.

    3) Say in your best Saw voice, "Now we're going to play a little game. Can you stumble out of this oven before you cook to a crisp?" Use ignite on them.

    4) If the minion manages to wander out and escape, go back into your Saw voice, "Whoops, wrong way." Drop a burn patch on them.
