  1. Well, it could be argued that a purpled out min/maxed toon is a kindof "manufactured" alpha class.

I guess it depends on what you expect an alpha class to do.

    Archery/MM?

I found using Aim + Concentration + RoA + Explosive Arrow + Fistful of Arrows is a good combo and usually wipes out an entire more, just leaving a couple runners.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a Arch/MM scrapper, but if I did, I think that combo would be pretty good.

    Oh, yeah, we have. Great.

Get over yourself. It's a big game, and there's room for power gamers and casuals alike. And while we're at it, can we stop with the straw man ad-hominem attacks suggesting that the other side is somehow morally inferior for enjoying the game enough to spend time thinking about it? Seriously, if I wanted a debate on that level I'd read a political blog or listen to talk radio. Oddly, I hold higher hopes for actual honest discussion instead of snide remarks about the other side from a discussion of a videogame.

Yes. Because having an uber MMO toon makes me a better person in real life. In fact, just the other day this guy cuts me off in traffic...and I think to myself..."What would my AR/Trap corruptor do?"

Like others though, I'd like to be able to use powers while walking. It'd be even better having walk toggled gave you an endurance discount...ya know, kinda like an opposite of sprint.
  6. I think the devs see something that we dont see. The claim seems to be that the devs are concerned over heros having more inf the villains.

If thats the case, I think the devs may be looking at some sort of a influence per capita number and not necessarily market prices. Obviouslly, in the real world, income per capita has alot to do with the buying power of a country. Last I checked (Its been a while) the BM had shortages. They may be concerned that applying those shortages(demand) to hero supply may result in price spikes that the average Villain can't keep up with.

I'd like to see a market merge as well and I have no strong opinions on why/why not. Just trying to figure out what number the devs are basing this decision on.

This is really true. Especially if you know if it's the last thing you plan to craft for a while. I can catch myself at both extreams...I'll find myself balking at paying 50k for something that ususally sells for 5k...And then a few days later I'll slap millions on top of a bid without thinking twice about it. I blame it on the fact that it's play money.
  9. I think that Nemesis staff offers better mitagation in the early on when you really need it.

Later game, you're VEAT isn't even likely to pull out one of the VET powers. Also, I've noticed that teh blackwand -tohit, doesn't even last that long.

So if you can live with the KB, I'd go lollipop over booger stick.
  10. Frankly, I kinda like taunting the rep trolls...Wouldn't that make me a rep tank?

Keep in mind that a rep troll/stalker is proabably some underaged kid who has managed to get a bug up their butt about something you posted in a video game forum.

If the rep troll is NOT some underaged kid, then they are only insulting their own intelligence...not yours.

    Me > Rep Trolls.
  11. I thought the first step in this thread was going to be:

    1) Make a scrapper

  13. I say force it. Figure out an exchange rate and press the damn button already. It should all balance out eventually. The result can't be any worse than the pre-nerf AE stuff that was going on.

It can still be called Infamy for Villains and Influence for Heroes, but the two currencies would only be different in their names. Surely, if most of Europe can go under a single currency, so can CoX.

I vote combine the markets and let the players clean it up.

    Red:
Everyone enters mish and in a disorganized blob goes forth until they find a spawn. People spend all of 2 seconds tabbing through the enemy to see wth is there. The Stalkers slink up and find the Boss or Lt or potential problem dude and get ready. A MM might engage first, a Brute wanting to show off, a Corrupter who thinks he's hot stuff or a Dom with a new power he just HAS to try out now, or everyone just blasts/stomps/stabs pretty much all together. Make no mistake, most people know what their doing and know how to play their characters, but...it just feels much different than Heroside, more loose, more seat of the pants kinda play usually. Quite fun.

Blue: Recruit Fender and all follow Tank interspersed with the rare "hey, let me try something" or "hey guys watch this!".

All because (generalizing again) Heroes = specialists, Villains = generalists.

Brutes especially, I predict, will get a bad rep from some people who don't realize WHY they are in such a hurry. Stalkers...people will be mindlessly following the guy and get mashed by a huge mob (done that myself once, sad to say), MMs will get yelled at (as usual) for blocking doorways and aggroing other spawns too probably.

The RWZ and Cimeora probably mitigated a good deal of the omg factor of teaming with the opposite side, but I reckon people will still howl. Regardless, I think it's going to be amusing to see people try to handle all the differences and come up with "new" tactics using the different archtypes together.
These "problems" will go away the day they turn off the servers. This is an MMO my friend. You have people out there of different ages and different experiences. If you're expecting things to change then you need to bail.
  15. I was thinking DP/Storm or DP/Kin.

Also wondering how many will make DP/TA.

I would never use an additional slot for the purpose of increasing movement speed. I don't have to go faster that bad. Thats someone else cup-o-tea right there.

We need blood mode. If you hit the "blood mode" option then you are prompted with "I certifiy that I am over 18..." That'll keep the kids out. Ya know, just like the porn sites that I've heard about.

Then we can enjoy a more adult version of the game.
  18. I also have issues with lethal/deadly weapons being used by "Heros". It's the main reason my current hero main uses non-lethal attacks(MA). Nobody ever dies from getting beaten to death.

Why is it the team leaders job to communicate the issue. You are clearly in the right. The person thorwing the trops probably just doesn't realize. Post it in the team chat so all can see it.. Just something like, "Whoever is throwing the caltrops...they are breaking the aggro off me and scattering the mobs." That way, the person might feel a little more annonymous.

I'd mention it a few times to make sure they see it. You bring it to everyones attention without pointing blame at a specifc person by posting it in the team chat.
  20. If you're worried about doing damage, you might want the Scrapper version. I'm leveling up a Inv/DM tank and a MA/SR scrapper. Tank is slooooow.

    Uber veterans

I bounced aound on the hero side at first-Got a Elec/Elec blaster to 30 and a few others high teens/low 20s largely due to the Winter Lord event. Back then, it took a looooong time to get into the 20s--especially runnning solo.

When CoV came out, I made a AR/Trap corruptor and managed to stick with it all the way to 50. Primarly solo and barely any AE content. He only hit 50 like maybe a month ago. He spent alot of time trading the BM as well.

I recently made a MA/SR scrapper my new main. After going 50 levels (Mostly solo) with a corruptor, I wanted somthing that felt powerful solo. Since I never really did much hero content, I wanted to make a hero. Hes up to like 32 now. Compared to my corruptor it's sick how fast he kills stuff.

However, I don't care how FOTM it is, I will make a dual pistol something in 2010. Already workig on a look/name/theme/story.

Is there a work-around? For example, lets say I use Auto on PB.

So now I want Hasten to auto-engage. is there a way to tie Hasten to a click power (say storm kick). In that, If Storm Kick is clicked, then hasten will auto trigger if it is available?

True by definiton, so I stand corrected. But, these powers have a duration. Making them, in my mind, a periodic toggle power of sorts.

There is a big difference between auto'ing your attack powers and auto'ing hasten, PB, dull pain (and I imagine there are other powers)
